    It does seems like TS doesn't really understand what alterations exactly do. If you stand before choice of MUing your turrets and alternate your turrets, you should definitely go for MUs. Alterations serves whole another reason. And if we are talk about reasons they are: 1) Money. Ok, can we have that out of the way first? Yes, we are doing many things in this game to create crystals sinks. Monetization is done through this kind of soft pay walls when you don't suppose to have enough crystals to get certain things as fast as buyers do, but we are doing pretty good with not going further than that. Apart from most russian free to play games this days. And we will stay that way. 2) Play the way you like it. Say you love Ricochet, but you can't use it on open maps. What should you do? Buy another turret for this kind of maps or just avoid to play them? I belive you will do the latter. This is when alterations comes into play. If you sure you like your turret and you want to stay with it - this is the way to go. 3) New stuff. Making new turrets takes alot of time. Making a single alteration for existing turret takes two week in worst cases. This is much better way to give you guys new stuff to play with. And to make it clear once again: new stuff is something that keeps this game going. 4) Tinkering with turrets. First you'll get only one alteration per turret. They you'll have another one and you'll find out that you can stack their effects. Then you'll get more alterations and you'll find out that now you need to choose them to stack properly. Then you'll try to break the system to turn one turret into another (you'll find out that in some cases you can do that). You probably won't be able to do that untill end game but this is whole another point behind prices. Alterations are for making your end game more interesting. In early game you can use them inly if you absolutely sure what you are doing. Or you are a buyer. Sorry, but to keep this game simple I have to unlock content gradually, so I can make sure you won't be overwhelmed. I believe players will accuse me for being a greedy developer anyway so.. yeah... this is where I should end my comment.

    So many years around and this game still lacks proper end game т_т Most of the players creates alternate account and start it all over again. Makes sense. Going through early game knowing what's best is almost like a god mode. Still, we need better end game...

If anyone come across asking why does not "greedy developers" allow DCC to affect this offer, tell him this: Commonly players whait for DCC to buy any crystal package, but this special offer should be bought on sight. It would be inconvenient to wait for DCC and it will be super embarrassing if you are novice player and you do bought this one-time-offer without DCC. Therefore we included x2 crystals in this offer itself and disable DCC mechanic in this case. Note that if any new special offer will ever be introduced, it will most likely not be affected by DCC as well.

    As long as prototype is underway I can share some specific information. In normal mode you reload after each shot. Best reference is Twins, which I mentioned above. You also reload after each shot, but every shot is from different barrel. In secondary mode you launch several rockets in a quick sequence. Now many rockets will be launched is not yet finalized. And I never said there going to be only 2 launchers. Best reference for targeting is Vulcan shooting targets. RL's laser targeting will mimic Vulcan's shooting behavior (obviously, RL's laser will not damage anything)

    This brings up another big question of how should we name it. We got no consistent pattern of naming in or game. There are Freeze and Ricochet alongside with Thunder and Vulcan. It would be great to find a suitable name for Rocket Launcher. There should be another naming contest happening on this. But first, we need to make a turret, so tankers can see what they going to name.

    YOU put everything under single complaint (sorry, hard to resist answering back with capital letters >_ Let's keep things separated: 1) Lags and server stability. DDoS protection is being installed. Certain server are being attacked whole summer. This is annoying but certain "players" do think that DDoS is a good way of politely asking to unblock cheating accounts (not gonna happen) This is hugely uncomfortable, but harware solution is being currently installed. 2) General server lags That is being always around. Currently server's memory usage and stability is under revision. Some changes were already made, you can see that on servers load. It is more evenly spread. Additional steps are being made. 3) Some web browsers are huge pain Everybody hates Flash this days. We hate it more than everybody else. This is why our next steps are i) to introduce downloadable client ii) to move entire game to WebGL. 4) Game crashes This is why specifically we hate Flash. It doesn't let us inside deep enough to fix certain visual memory leaks. We can't fix it, only they can do it. And they ignore this issue. This is why we are working towards WebGL. 5) Mults Oh yeah, I love it! It took some time and beating of certain persons to explain why this ruins end game and how it should be fixed. Clans will do alot for major force of team players. Matchmaking will do the rest. This is what currently under development and will not be delayed anymore. 6) Cheaters My personal #1 why I hate MMO games. Anti cheat can do so far, but certain things can not be fixed with our type of server-client communication. This is why I asked CTO to move in different direction. They think it is good idea to locate our variables in machine memory so they can create cheat clients? Ok, we will make it impossible to keep this clients working. But first there are some things needed to be done with our downloadable client to make it happen. Are there any "solutions" to nerf equipment and stuff? Seems not. When last nerfing took place? Seems like over a... year... ago. Are devs so stupid they make content while there are major issues with game systems and expect people to pay as it is nothing? Nope. You've might have noticed that last few month there are more updates then a year before? Some things did changed. This changes were inside of dev team. This is also why I can't say more :D Personally I am not that kind of guy who talks about how things are changed and there will be better tommorow. Sorry, grim russian character doesn't allow me to speak fabulous predictions of wonderful opportunities. I love to make things happen, so people can see my words, rather than listen. Also, about that "I have heard there are "some things going on under the hood" for, what, 8-9 months." For me it wasn't 8-9 months. I heard this words 4 years ago. Made me so mad about it I joined dev team to change some things.

    Well yeah! Financial reasons are there as well. But as long as TS stated his idea as... "to add the version of the game" technically is still the right word. You can't technically add it. You can only make another one. And that is financially impossible.

    Sorry, but retrospectively your suggestion doesn't make much sense. There were times when this game haven't seen updates in almost half a year. It was even more than that when TO 2.0 development wasn't canceled. Right now this game got somewhat unique chance to be quickly updated with content and important systems it haven't seen in years. We shouldn't miss this chance. I understand that experiencing the game while it is actively evolving is not a stellar experience, but asking to hold on updates might result in some updates never ever happen.

Go on. Tell me your fee, I wonder.

    I think it should suffice to say that this scenario was around years ago. Players were always giving their own ideas on how every turret should work in specifics, but we just couldn't deliver it. You don't want to create several versions of Thunder to do that, especially with current price tags. Idea of alterations solves that problem. And new turrets is not a problem either. They as always got their own unique mechanics and will have their own unique alterations. It will take some effort to come up with alterations for every turret buuuut... I think I'll get a lot of feedback to look through :D

    Actually, it shouldn't necessarily be only upgradable characteristic. You might be able to change Railgun's piercing mechanic with splash mechanic with this alterations. I am not saying this will be an option, but it might be an option.

    While we at it, let me add some facts about that artillery nonsence as well. Atrillery introduction is a bit misleading too. Who would've known! But when you think of Atrillery in a tank game you will most likely think of World of Tanks atrillery, naturally. You know, that eye-in-the-sky one shot imba crap. I got a nice video that describes general consensus over that Artillery, here it is: (18+) As you can guess we are not going to add this stuff to the game. No no. Will there be an aiming scope or something? Nope. You will have to operate it manually. Will you have to stay in one place to shoot? Nope. You will be able and will have to move around. If you want to picture Artillery then you have to NOT think of it as a mere Artillery cannon. Think of it as of ordinary tank cannon, that shoots projectiles... and that's it. Really. Just a cannon, that shoots projectiles. The catch is that projectiles are going to fall down as they do in real life. To work with this you will be able to set shot angle and control projectile speed. Shot angles are very important as we plan to allow players to use anything between 0 degrees and 90 degrees. You can shoot straight forward and you can shoot straight up. With projectile speed control you are going to get really versatile weapon in your disposal. You can shoot it over walls, you can shoot across entire map and you can shoot it straight to enemy's face. All in one turret. Probably, someone also guessed where did this come from. Everybody knows Worms, right? Yup, the BAZOOKA from Worms works similar to this Artillery system. And if you do know that game you know that to be godlike with bazooka you need some neat skills. This might be one of the most skill demanding turrets in our game. Working with shot angle, hull turning and shot power at the same time to intercept with killing blow a light tank — that is going to be on hell of a challenge. I hope we will be able to achieve this.
