    Freezing effect's acceleration debuff

That patch didn't release until just yesterday, so the weird extra slowdown wasn't part of it - just some odd behavior that we now don't have to deal with.

    Tesla XT

That is odd! The hue is similar to Crusader's, which also has that gold that's yellower than other XTs.

    Freezing effect's acceleration debuff

We covered that one a long time ago; there have been some unannounced changes since then as well as some announced ones. What's on the wiki right now is the current information, since Stratosphere was able to look up the stats.

Which number is the note? I don't remember seeing it.

    Freezing effect's acceleration debuff

Yep, not looking like its likely to get an answer from the devs. What do you mean by this? AP Hammer does indeed have a 20% decrease in clip reload, as stated on the wiki.

    Special missions

Ah, I think I see what's up. The statement in the announcement that you have 3 days to claim rewards is simply a mistake. You have however much time the game says you have, though there's no reason not to claim them right away. Sorry about the confusion!

    Special missions

You have ~5 days left to complete the remaining missions, but 9 days left to claim the rewards from the missions you've already completed. This is pretty typical for special missions - there is a long window after you've finished where the rewards hang around for you to claim them.

    Striker vs railgun

Hey also just chiming in - every turret except Firebird and Freeze (which shoot in a cone instead) has auto-aim, even on desktop. When your turret is pointed at someone (side-to-side), there's a vertical angle range that the shot can go, and it'll automatically go in the direction of the tank you're aimed at. You can effectively extend this auto-aim range by rocking your hull. So, when you fire a railgun or a striker (normal) shot at anyone who isn't directly in front of your turret, but rather above or below where it's pointing, the shot will still go towards them. This is more effective with railgun though, since once the shot fires they're hit instantly, whereas striker's missile can miss targets that are both on a different elevation and moving laterally. Of course, striker has targeting capabilities, but that's a whole other deal that requires lock-on time, and still isn't perfect.

    UFO day in «Tanki Online»

Nice! Viking heavyweight is solid, probably my favorite augment for that hull. Looks like you got a good haul from the free event ultras.
  11. I think your general idea is fine - shaft is pretty powerful in the low ranks. But, the whole* point of Shaft is to be able to one-shot a medium hull - it can (and always has been able to, afaik) do that at any level, provided its modification and supplies roughly stack up to those of the enemy hull. That's what makes it so cool to play with. My suggestion would be a simple nerf to the charge-up-rate of the shot, i.e. making it an upgradable parameter that begins at a lower value than what it is now. Reducing the FOV in scope mode as you mentioned wouldn't be a bad idea either, nor would reducing the scoped rotation speed a bit. And of course, fixing the laser bug would help. But please, lets not take away the full damage of the scoped shot; it's what makes the turret unique and fun to play with. *ok, a large portion of the point, ig it can do other things too

    Mammoths overdrives

Doesn't seem like there's a super clear answer here yet, so I'll try to explain simply all the things that could happen. Firstly, Mammoth's OD always does 999 damage per tick. No damage reducer of any kind has an effect on mammoth's OD damage, similar to Wasp's Bomb or Ares' Energy Ball. Since Mammoth's max health is 4000 HP (Mk7-19 is only 3976), only a maxed out mammoth can take 4 ticks without dying. If your enemy is maxed and you are not, they will win when you both start at full HP. Mk4-5 has 3000 HP and is the earliest upgrade that can eat 3 ticks without dying. Any Mammoth, even Mk1-0, has at least 2000 HP and can take 2 ticks when at full health. Of course, if you aren't at full HP (even just a few points short) you'll often get killed one tick earlier than normal. If you get hit by a stray bullet or you shoot at close range with a splash damage turret and your enemy doesn't, they'll win. Since Mammoth's OD instantly resets HP, your enemy can activate their OD after you contact them and recover from a couple of ticks. Thus, they reset their HP, and if you took any damage since you started the OD you'll lose, since you already used up your health reset. Try to be the second one to activate your OD. Activating a repair kit during the collision instantly gives 1000hp - conveniently, enough to survive one more tick. If one mammoth uses RK and the other doesn't, the drugger wins. Using the Lifeguard drone will always let you survive one extra tick, and with enough upgrades, 2 or (when maxed) 3 extra. Hope this helps, and let me know if there are any more details or other situations you'd like me to explain!

    another Ultra Container question

Some theorize either way and I wish I could give you a definitive answer, but the way that probabilities are handled are not released by the devs. We're sure that the possible rewards don't change over time, but don't have any information about whether the probabilities of items or rarities are constant or not. If some buyer was willing to risk losing the best drops out of a batch of Ultras, they could compare fresh and old ones and see if there was a significant difference, but as of yet I haven't seen anyone attempt that.
  14. Mechanic drone go brrr
  15. The rewards of Ultra Containers (especially skins like you mentioned) do vary from batch to batch, so my guess is that your first explanation is correct - that the devs decided to make certain skins less accessible so that they're rarer.
  16. Excited! Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to do the special missions

    Question about shot effects

I mean, the other explosion-based turrets (striker, magnum, and gauss) all have shot effects and you can see them just fine. My guess is that Smoky and Thunder are two very classic turrets, and the devs want to keep a more traditional look for their shots.

    Tankoin Tank and Valour paints

Just a heads up, if you really want to buy Tankoin Tank, make sure that you wait until paints are on sale in the Garage so that you only pay 70k (or even better 50k) tankoins instead of 100k.

@Tokamak That's good info, but I believe OP was asking about what happens after you're thawed but still moving slowly.

    Let's Discuss Missions!

I'd suggest: regular Isida (or adrenaline if you have it) Mechanic, Supplier, or Miner drone Dictator, hunter, hornet, titan, or mammoth (no augment needed) Use those to defend the base in Assault. That's my go-to for top-3 missions. Alternatively, something like crusader+twins is great for winning CP battles.

    Let's Discuss Missions!

A while back, there was a welcome back gift for tankers who'd been away for a few weeks, but it was removed, so it's probably not coming back. On the plus side, Shards exist now, and give you a free container each day you log in and claim it, plus more containers for completing existing missions. They make it much easier to get an old account up to speed.

    Freezing effect's acceleration debuff

I'll request the data on this and post what I find out on the wiki page for freezing. I've also noticed the post-freeze sluggishness in acceleration - I think you're onto something here, and I agree it would be nice to have some numbers and a good explanation.
  24. Tbh, I think gold boxes dropping less often would make them much more fun and exciting. Once you've seen a lot of them, the adrenaline rush stops happening, so I think making them rarer would actually make things more fun. Of course, that would come at the expense of giving out somewhat fewer crystals, but gold boxes aren't really a significant source of income in TO's economy nowadays anyways - they're mostly for glory and excitement.
