Micro upgrade and speed up discounts are basically pointless
Maf replied to DeathIsImminent in Archive
I thought it was common knowledge that 50/70 discounts are not cheaper than gradual upgrades. Yes, you don't save crystals when upgrading everything at once, but what you do save is time. And time is pretty important. First of all, it allows you to get the upgrades faster, meaning that your tank will become more powerful sooner and you will ultimately get more rewards. Also, it removes that feeling of impatience you get when you're waiting for upgrades to finish without speed-ups and they just seem to take forever. During any MU discount I would recommend to most players to always buy one upgrade step on every single item they have (or every item they plan on upgrading) and then potentially continue buying upgrade steps (without speed-ups) on their favourite items even if there is no discount. -
Wasn't doing them anyway. It would be really sad if I was going for 1800 and was close to it, but then got this from a container.

It's funny how basically right after reading your post, I went into the game, opened 20 containers and got Rico XT from the last one.

Hi. That record has a minimum rank requirement of Master Sergeant.

I disagree. There have been plenty of times in MM when I see my teammate (or even an enemy) make a really great play, or just generally do something nice and, well, honourable. I would gladly reward them somehow, and sending them a gift isn't really an option, especially considering that I'd have to add them as a friend for that. An honour system would be perfect for that kind of situation.

That's a cool turret, but I think the way I described it (and the way it's done in HL2) makes the gameplay a bit more engaging, adding another layer of difficulty and increasing the reward if you succeed. So yes, the projectile is slow and enemies can shoot it down, but if you do manage to evade them with the laser and hit, the reward is great.

That's definitely not how this feature would work, I can tell you that much. The most you can expect is a few more options than a private battle and some special permissions for yourself as a server host.

That's actually what I wanted to write at first, but changed it to "small" when I realised I can't be bothered to spell out "miniscule" On a serious note though, the chance is not that bad. The basic supplies (DD, DA, SB and mine) account for around 45% of the rewards (although I admit it feels more than that). But as long as you lower your expectations when opening containers, you won't be disappointed. I'm not sure what you're trying to say. The fact that containers can give exclusive skins? Yes, but I said that it's pointless to expect to get a skin, since the chance of getting it is like 1 in 5000.

At this point it's pointless to expect anything good from normal containers. Enjoy the fact that you get 9000 crystals and some supplies from the weekly containers, while the standard container is just a little bonus reward with a small chance to get something amazing.

Valid So like the rocket launcher in Half Life 2? Sounds cool! The way I see it is that instead of rockets there would be a slow moving projectile, similar to that of Twins. There would be two firing modes. Pressing space once launches the projectile in a straight path, like Striker. Holding space would instantly launch a slower projectile which would then fly towards whichever point you are aiming at. I don't think a Shaft scope would be fitting for this - it would be better to have the tank just stand still and have the crosshair appear without full sniper scope mode. And to make it more interesting, the guided projectile would deal massive damage (like magnum or even more), but it would be possible to shoot at, so any enemy tank could just take out your projectile if you're not careful about how you aim it.

Not sure what you mean here. If you had an option to literally load an older version of the game onto your server, then obviously it would have all of the old glitches and bugs (not the new ones though). Although if this does get implemented, I highly doubt you'd be able to go back to an older version, and it would definitely be like private battles, meaning that nothing you do there will affect your account (no exp, no battle fund, no purchases, etc.)

True, but from personal experience I still feel like Wasp is one of the weakest and least useful overdrives, in any game mode.
-
Well, maybe I just haven't been up against many Wasps, but to me the bomb has never been much of a threat, and when using Wasp myself, I don't find the bomb to be very useful. If you treat it as a way to get extra kills, then Viking's OD allows you to get 3-4 extra kills with every activation, so that's around 7 per battle. Getting 7 bomb kills in one battle with Wasp is near impossible, unless a gold drops or something.

Actually, Wasp has been getting buffs not because devs are trying to make everyone use it, but because so far every previous buff wasn't enough to put Wasp's bomb OD on the same level as the other hulls. Even now I'm not sure if it's all that good, considering how easy it is to take cover or drive away from it when the bomb is placed, or just counter-OD it with Hunter, Mammoth or Titan.
