Nope, actual physical books. And I'm pretty sure they were only in Russian.

In case you're wondering what Mammoth's overdrive kill effect looks like: https://imgur.com/a/jXqfpkq Open testing is currently on the test servers, btw

If we accept the two fiction books written about Tanki to be official lore, then the world of TO is post-apocalyptic, where the energy has run out and people are fighting over "energy crystals" of Helium-3, which are used to power machines. But I think once the main war was over, the tanks became unnecessary, so instead they were being used in gladiator battles, which are a sort of betting and tournament system. Anyway, it's not the kind of world you'd like to live in, for any amount of time.

Not a particularly interesting achievement. With the right management of crystals and a bit of luck it's not that hard to get the same things that "buyers" can get.
-
I see, you do have a point. I didn't notice the fact that on Cem's screenshot the reward was separate from the bonus. We'll look into that record again.
-
The guy in second position had less than 50% of the kills, so he would get less than 50% reward by default. It makes sense.

So then it's just Thunder with a reverse impact force? Doesn't justify a whole new turret, to be honest.

I'm getting really tired of all these "look at the numbers dropping" posts. Well, the reality is that these numbers unironically prove that that developers' decisions are, in fact, what's keeping the game alive after all these years. You think that going from 100k down to 30k is a bad thing? Well, I say that a game that still regularly has 30k online players is a massive achievement, considering that it came from a studio with very little game development experience and the project itself was merely a software demo. If devs wouldn't make all these updates and just keep the game as it was, then Tanki would stop being profitable long ago, and players would leave due to lack of interest. Tanki would have shut down years ago it it wasn't for these changes. Just because the majority of players want something, doesn't mean that it will be good for the game as a whole. Developers know this and take it into account when making changes. So the fact that they don't instantly change something because the public demands it doesn't mean that they don't listen at all. Anyway, to conclude - a game without updates is a dead game, and any project needs to adapt to the changing environment and attract new users, which does sometimes involve going against the wishes of its existing users. Old players will always be leaving, so the challenge is not to keep old players playing, but to attract enough new ones to replace the old. Because let's face it - no matter how good a game is, very few people are gonna keep playing it for years upon years. The fact that this 10-year-old flash game still has 30k active players is a massive success on developers' part and shows that they chose the right path with the game's development.

That seems frustrating and unbalanced. Also a missed opportunity for custom shot effects.

Seems interesting, but I don't really understand how it works. It shoots a projectile like Rico, but the projectile sucks tanks into it and deals damage as it flies through the map? Sounds somewhat interesting.

Just do vars.list in the console: http://tnkscr.net/4QHd8G.png

That's it. As far as I know, the other ones have no noticeable effect when players use them.
-
I open them 5 at a time. The last few weren't particularly great - mostly grays and occasional greens.

If you have more than 2651 hours with it, then yes.

So... I thought 15 seconds was long. I saw this one dropping on the enemy base in the corner of my screen. Went towards it, got killed, respawned, went to the enemy base again and still managed to take it. The box was laying on the ground for a solid 20-25 seconds, because none of the enemy players died and they were all driving around the middle, trying to find the gold. Still can't believe I got it.

Was it a pop-up you got after ranking up? Because I remember there was another post about the same thing. I think developers forgot to remove that unused alteration from the rank pop-up, but it's not available in the garage. The screenshot is from the V-log, where they made the initial announcement of new alterations.
-
Light Capacitors is the only alt that has "light" in its name, while Round Stabilisation for Railgun is the only one that kind of looks like a drill. There aren't any unpublished alterations, as far as I know. There's also this one for Shaft and it really does look like a drill, but it was never added in the first place (probably planned and then cancelled), so it shouldn't be visible anywhere.

I'm not sure what you're confused about. The freestand record can't be done in space mode because that makes it too easy due to the reduced gravity. As for your highest percentage of fund record - it's valid, but we're currently discussing whether it will be accepted.
-
Impressive, but we can't accept it due to the fact that it breaks game rules. On one hand you were winning by a large margin, so you could afford to mess about. On the other hand you literally blocked your teammate, who had the flag, and your actions resulted in the enemy flag being returned. That's sabotage. We'll only accept this record if it's done in DM/JGR. Maybe TDM, but even that is a stretch.
-
That Shaft had no idea there was a container just sitting behind him    It was there for a good 10-15 seconds before a guy from our team finally took it. Longest I've ever seen a container laying on the ground.

Balance would be nice. At the very least there should be a limit on how many upgrades a lower rank can have on their drones, and less upgraded drones should use less batteries.
-
Drones are an end-game item. You're supposed to buy and upgrade them only when you're in a situation when you literally have nothing else to buy, meaning that you have a garage full of all of the hulls, turrets, most alterations and 50% modules. So unless you are at that point or close to it, I would never recommend spending on drones, since it's a massive waste for the most part.
