  1. True, true. I feel like I'm pretty advanced with Wasp, but I still struggle with flipping and getting knocked around by mines, bad textures and high impact turrets.
  2. Yeah pretty much. I guess it works as an alteration for Shaft though, since a lot of the existing alterations already basically turn one turret into another.
  3. Use mouse controls, hold right click and turn your camera. The turret will stay in place as long as you're holding the mouse button.
  4. Short range, medium range, long range: Wasp > Everything else

    What Happened To Tanki?

Well, isn't that technically what the whole game is about? Pushing the right buttons at the right time?
  6. To me Hunter is far better than Viking. I always use it and it's handling and manoeuvrability feels far superior. Also Wasp>Hornet.

    What Happened To Tanki?

Which older version? In pre-rebalance times (before 2012) is was Rico and Freeze dominating in most battles. Then it was Firebird and Twins for a long time. Then it was Isida and Vulcan, then Magnum, then Firebird, then Freeze, and now it's Vulcan, Striker, Hammer, and a few other OP alts. Balance was never perfect in Tanki, but at least now it seems like all turrets and hulls are playable and I'm seeing the biggest variety of equipment in games than ever before. Supplies are a different story. They make the game more dynamic and add a separate element of skill, since you need to carefully decide which supplies you want to activate and when - this was not the case before Smart Cooldowns, and people used to spam all 3 supplies as soon as they spawn.

    What Happened To Tanki?

At this point all these updates were so long ago that discussing them is pointless. Every single argument for and against them has already been said multiple times, and all these features have existed (or been removed) for years, so no point even talking about their removal/re-addition. As for making a separate "Legacy" server, I'll just copy-paste the same reply I always use for this suggestion: Either way, for most of your opinions you're in the minority. Most players already got used to the not-so-new changes like new turrets and graphics, as well as new paints, matchmaking, etc. That's just a necessity for an old free-to-play game to survive. They tried doing only cosmetic purchasable items in Tanki X, but had to abandon the idea because it seems like it wasn't bringing in enough revenue.
  9. Well, yeah :D I like these turrets and I respect opponents who use them. Also, Thunder and Hammer are actually OK to fight against when using Wasp. But with Rico and Twins it's just a massive pain because of their knockback, while Isida is just a lame turret that requires little to no skill.

  11. Isida, Twins and Ricochet are the worst for me. I absolutely loathe these turrets.
  12. Oh, I had plenty, but forgot most of them. One of my favourites is when I was using Magnum and camping at my base. Our flag was taken, and they were about to capture it. I decide to randomly shoot in the general direction of the enemy base, and with that blind shot ended up killing both the flag carrier and the Isida behind him, metres from the base. And the best thing is that my teammate actually returned the flag. I had a bunch of similar stories with Magnum, Railgun, Striker and a bunch of other turrets, where I landed some insane shots which I thought were guaranteed to miss.

Tanki Picture of the Day - Have any?

Everyone (probably): Wow Maf, 18k posts! You should post something really special to celebrate this milestone! Me:
  14. Parkour mode needs a whole bunch of improvements, including a way to completely disable damage. But at the moment it seems like PRO battles (and especially parkour format) are the last thing devs care about.

GIFT: Free Day of Premium for you

You're not wrong in saying that you are still affected by the challenge despite not wanting to participate, but it's not a direct effect. Psychotic is right - no one is forcing you to spend 200 hours every month in order to fully complete every challenge. Just complete the daily missions and ignore whatever stars you get as a side effect. I don't see why you wouldn't want to get rewards from the first few tiers just as a side effect.

    Striker Recoil

I feel like the size of tanks in Tanki is greatly underestimated. Most likely due to the fact that some of the props were not designed to accurately reflect the game's official scale, which is that 1 prop = 5 metres. If you look at this house, the door on it is actually higher than the tank: This makes even a Mammoth look like it's the size of a typical car. But if you compare a tank to the size of a prop, you can see that a Mammoth is actually around 6.5 metres long, while a Wasp is around 4 metres long (which is closer to a typical car): So if you take this as the official size, and compare it to some real life objects, you can see that a Mammoth is actually pretty damn massive. Here's a Mammoth compared to a car and a human, as well as the Stryker vehicle shown in one of the videos wolverine posted: Doesn't really relate much to the discussion, but I think it's interesting to consider. And I'm pretty sure that none of these vehicles are "several times the relative size" of a Mammoth.
  17. I never mentioned Firebird setting itself on fire. And in terms of fire on other tanks - when the fuel tank ruptures, you can consider a tank destroyed. So the only way fire would be transferred to a nearby tank is if the actual combustible solvent thrown by Firebird, which is currently burning on the surface of the enemy tank, gets blown over to a nearby tank. In your post you mentioned this fire spreading being used as an ancient mechanic with boats. Well, tanks aren't ancient so once again - fire would not easily spread to nearby tanks. Either way, I don't feel like this feature would improve gameplay in any way.

    Add water to maps

I get it now. It's a "tribute" to the original demo! :o
  19. No, "Valid" is the new "Under review". See details here: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=372000&p=6668010
  20. Valid On one hand this is good for players, since they can have one module for all of their self-damage turrets. On the other hand, this is bad for the game, because players will spend less on modules. However, it could also mean that in the long run players will spend more, because it will be an additional module that needs to be bought, along with the other 14. Also, the problem is that right now if you are using Thunder, you equip a Thunder module and protect from yourself, as well as all enemy Thunders. If this gets implemented, then you would need to equip the self-damage module in addition to the Thunder module, if there are a lot of enemy Thunders. Basically, it takes up an additional protection slot and I don't think this should be added without increasing the total number of slots.

    Poll: New Server?

So your goal is to encourage people to spend less? That's literally against the company's main goal of making a profit. Remember, Tanki isn't a charity - it's a for-profit company that has to make money to expand and pay its employees. You'd be surprised how many people spend just a little bit. And what if they spend that little bit, enjoy their advantage for a while, and then that's it - they are stuck on the "buyer" server with their weak kit (that lost its advantage many ranks ago) and can't do anything to improve their situation. And that's just one major problem. Don't forget that splitting players would greatly increase MM waiting times, and cause friends to be separated. Are you trying to improve the game balance, or do you just hate "buyers" and want to make their life more difficult? Right now it looks like the latter, because you want to stop buyers playing against free players, but you think it's OK if overpowered free players (of which there are plenty) dominate in battles. Don't forget that those who spend money are the ones supporting the project, and the ones who help the game keep operating so that everyone else can play. That's not something to hate them for.
  24. The other old skins aren't officially called "Legacy" - they're just textures from before the big graphics update. But based on recent trends, looks like they will gradually all be added to the game as Legacy skins.
