    Paint Separation Update

I strongly recommend that you wait at least 2-3 months before making any purchases. With prices this high it's best to wait for some sort of sale and besides, prices might go up or down in the next few weeks, so if you buy anything now you risk wasting crystals.

Not yet. Create it again after the main discussion topic (this one) is closed and moved to archive. If it proves to be popular, we'll move it to the other section.

    Paint Separation Update

Well, it wasn't. I'm glad you enjoyed having 8 months of free unintentional protection, but that protection is no longer valid due to yesterday's update. The reason the 15% had to be added is because if the paint had no protections in the first place, Premium players would complain and say something like "What's the point of having this useless paint if I can't even use it in battles because it has no protection!". Developers had to add a little bit of protection to make sure the paint could be used, but that protection is no longer necessary. One of the devs did say that the 15% protection will most likely be compensated with another useful bonus, but for now I suggest you play without any modules and buy a bunch of ones you like most during the next sale :)

  6. It's a team game, so the fact that you had most score and were doing all the work doesn't change the fact that your team lost. The losing team already gets up to 40% of the total fund and no less than 20% (even if you have 0 points/flags), so you don't deserve any more than this. If you don't like depending on your team and don't want to lose because of bad teammates - play DM.

etc.? Whats the etc.? Being stable is pretty much Hornet's only advantage, which is nothing compared to how much more speed and agility Wasp has.

Just because Wasp can now get one-shotted, doesn't mean it's bad :D

If you value the ability to survive a Rail's shot with 100% certainty and you don't value Wasp's extra speed, then I suggest you use Hornet instead.

Meanwhile in my two posts: You still think that devs are ignoring your feedback and aren't changing anything?

What are you trying to tell me? This change was made to remove the unfair advantage Wasp had in XP/BP battles, so now both Hornet and Wasp have reasons to be used. What more is there to explain?

    Paint Separation Update

Part 2 (continued from Part 1): What you disliked the most: The removal of 15% protection from the Premium paint (despite the fact that it was given out as part of compensation after 11th of July) The Premium paint was always meant to be just a "Status" paint, which doesn't give any advantage in battle. Any paint with protection from all turrets should only be given out as a reward and not bought with money. We always supported the principles of fair play and want to avoid features that make it possible to literally "buy" victory. The Premium paint will no longer have protection and should be used in combination with any other standard module instead. It's likely that a future update will bring a different bonus to Premium accounts to compensate for this removal. Why is there no Legacy module for Moonwalker paint? The module will be added soon. Why does the Masters of Parkour module not contain Railgun protection? We understand that such a combination would have been very useful, but such a module can't be allowed to be freely used in battles. You do have the mine protection module, which we think is enough. Why was protection removed from the Veteran paint? Veteran paint is also a "Status" paint like Premium, and it's given to players forever, so we consider it incorrect to give such a high protection to players without them ever having the need to defend their right to own that paint. Besides, having 20% on that paint, is devalues other special eSports reward paints like Acid and Silver, which is another reason why the protection was removed. Although we have reconsidered out decision and decided to issue a 10% protection module for all players with Veteran paint. Paints are too expensive Before the update, the price of paints was relatively low because there was no way to equip a paint one liked without sacrificing protection potential. Now that paints and protections are separate, players nave no need to buy the paints therefore their prices could be increased to raise their value, as it wouldn't have any adverse effects on the players, who can't afford them. The paints are now purely cosmetic items that can be purchased for style or camouflage (note that most camouflage paints are relatively cheap and affordable), so the high prices have absolutely no effect on game balance as the expensive paints do not give any gameplay advantage. It's still possible that paint prices will be corrected depending on how many sales they generate. Why did the update have to be released now, during the compensation period after 11th of July? The compensation was spontaneous and unplanned, while the update was scheduled to be released on this day. The fixing of servers did not concern the team that was responsible for bringing out this update, so it was released as planned, since the servers were fixed beforehand. Excessive lags, crashes, garage not loading, etc. The lag problem is a responsibility of a completely different group of developers, in collaboration with specialists from the data-centre. They will soon undertake a series of steps, which should give us some serious progress towards improving the lag problem. Expensive kits. It's no longer a good deal to buy them The main point of kits is to give players access to equipment before they reach the rank to unlock it. Whether you need it or not is your own choice. But the prices might still be corrected, so let's wait until next Thursday before jumping to conclusions. All protections players have should be visible when pressing Tab, otherwise we have to run around the map holding R, to see what each player has. Unfortunately this isn't possible due to technical limitations, but possible improvements to the interface will be experimented with in the future. The R key doesn't work until the tank has fully respawned This is a bug. We're working on it, so should be fixed soon. The game became a lot more difficult. Players loved TO for its simplicity, but with modules it became unnecessarily complicated. Some say exactly the opposite - this update made paints and protections easier to use and understand. At the moment we can't say for sure what's interesting and what isn't. It will take some time to analyse. It used to be possible to change equipment quickly. Now we need to memorise a lot of markings This is an interesting element of the game and again - it's too early to jump to conclusions. Too hard to remember all modules - too many names and numbers There is no reason to remember them all. The names are there for identification, while in battles it;s much faster to tell what protection the enemy has by looking at the weapon icons. This list will be edited as more questions arise.

This is intentional. M3 Wasp no longer has 10% protection to make it more even with Hornet. That was Wasp's advantage is speed and maneuverability, while Hornet's advantage is a guaranteed survival of 1 shot. The rest of your arguments are very opinion-based, so I won't respond.
  14. Maf

    Paint Separation Update

Nothing has changed about Hornet. M3 still has no protection and M2 has 20%.

    Paint Separation Update

Correct. And Wasp M2 will have 10% instead of 20%.

    Paint Separation Update

A more detailed Q&A topic has been posted on the RU forum by developer @AP_Wolfwood, so the following is a translated version of it: Most commonly asked questions and problems: There is no information about the module micro-upgrades. Updating the Wiki and other sources is a lengthy process. It will all be available soon on this page. The R key is in an inconvenient location (Suggested alternatives: L, C) The R key needs to be held down constantly to be able to read the info. Make an on/off switch for it (the only way to do it right now is by using the Alt trick) At the moment it's unknown what changes will be made to the interface, but as soon as final decisions will be made, we'll be sure to publish it. Impossible to see which module you currently have equipped Will be fixed in an upcoming update Long range shooters can't see what protection their targets have This is now a feature of the long range weapons. You could argue that before it was possible to determine the protection from the paint, but that also wasn't effective at large distances. Either way, a fix is not planned at the moment. Too much information on screen when a lot of tanks are in one area The interface will be improved in upcoming updates, although there is no certain information about this particular issue. It will be published as soon as decisions have been made. The modules have nearly identical names, such as Kodiak T-A and Kodiak T-B have a one-letter difference and 2 completely different sets of protections. At the moment there is no alternative naming system. This variation was chosen to avoid having 200 individual names to remember. If we see any better alternatives suggested by players - we will take them into consideration. Will the modules be shown in our profiles? Why did the paints disappear from profiles? This is a known bug which we are working to resolve. The paints will be back in profiles and we might add modules there as well. There is a general aim to add more useful and interesting information to the profiles, so future updates are likely. Will there be a module with Smoky, Railgun and Thunder protection? Will there be personal discounts on modules? Will there be a sale on all remaining modules after I buy a few of them? New modules will be gradually added to the garage. And yes, we will even add certain new modules if a lot of players request the same combination. Personal and wholesale discounts do not apply to modules at the moment and are not planned. We first need to see how the update affects the game's economy before making further changes. Why can't Wasp M3 use 10% protection in XP/BP battles? Wasp was never meant to have the protection, the only reason it had an option to use the 10% was because of a misunderstanding when the format rules were made. It wasn't right, since it gave Wasp an advantage over Hornet in all other aspects, making Hornet obsolete in format battles. Now that Wasp doesn't have protection, it acts as a nerf to its superior speed and maneuverability and adds more reason to use Hornet instead. There are also some great news for amateur players - there is no longer a need to purchase a 10% or 20% protection module to participate in format battles. If you have Wasp M2 or Hornet M2, you will automatically be given 10 or 20% protection respectively even if you currently have no Railgun modules purchased in your garage, or if the module you have equipped has more than the required protection. The game adjusts the protection for you! Thy is there a need to show the tank's modification using yellow bars? Every player at middle ranks and above is able to tell the modifications apart by the tank's design, so why the unnecessary information? The information is useful for beginners, so this aspect of the update is aimed at them. What do the LGC, T-A, T-B, T-C, T-J and other acronyms on modules mean? LGC means Legacy. After that there is a number. This is needed to avoid having two identical items in the garage, so for example after the update there is a paint called Forester and a module called Forester LGC-1 T-A, T-B, T-C - those are markings of new modules. It's composite: the first letter tells the number of protections in the module (Single, Double, Triple) and the second letter is made to differentiate between the modules in the same set by giving them an alphabetical order. They can be referred to as the modules' serial numbers. The names of the modules define the module type. All Ocelot modules are for close-range combat. All Eagle modules are for long range. The rest of the modules are named according to a similar principle. The full information will be published later. Part 2 explains all the features you disliked.

    Paint Separation Update

Players were always leaving because everyone gets bored at some point after playing the same game for many years. The reason the overall number of players is decreasing is because the leavers (the rate of which was always quite steady) don't get replaced by new players as much because developers removed most, if not all, marketing for the game and are not attracting new players into it. Because there is simply no point getting new players into an old game, when Tanki X is getting released soon.

    Paint Separation Update

Those are for cover, but not really much for hiding. And if a player is actually able to use this to their advantage, then it's fair to let them have said advantage, because it doesn't seem to be that useful or convenient anyway.

    Paint Separation Update

To be honest, you could always use this to your advantage by seeing the HP bar at that distance. This just makes it a bit easier. Hiding and ambush was never a really big part of Tanki, so this isn't significant.

Sorry, my bad. Mixed it up with theft. Well, you said it yourself - a robbery involves violence, so this isn't a robbery - it's just theft :P And it's not even theft, it's confiscation :D
