Yeah, good point. I do think the removal is temporary though.
-
I assume it's because they don't matter anymore? Before they used to show what kind of protection you like to use, but now they just show what colours you like. Perhaps they removed it temporarily and it will be replaced by modules soon.

1. Yes, the number shows the % protection they have from your turret. Some of the numbers are high because they have Legacy modules left over form paints they bought before the update. For example if someone bought Emerald before and had no MUs on it, they now have a Legacy module with 0 Mus and 42% protection from Thunder. 2. You can check your own number in the garage, but developers considered it innecessary to display your own protection, because you should be able to easily remember it. 3. You can check what module you have equipped and change it in the new "Protection" tab in the garage, which comes after Turrets and Hulls. Please ask questions on the help site and refrain from creating new topics. If you want to leave feedback about the update, post it in the official topic. Closed.

That's not what I meant. Yes, you could equip any paint, but most paints cheaper than 100k used to become obsolete at higher ranks because their protection was too low. Let's say you really likes Swash, but you couldn't use it in any normal battle because by equipping it you would sacrifice all the potential protection you could get from better paints. But now you can get a high protection module with any paint you like. For newbies it wasn't. Even I had trouble knowing the protections a whole year after the new set of paints was added. It's easy to remember 15-20 paints if you only play with 1 gun, but what about those who play with 4-5 guns, or all of them? You can't possibly remember over 100 protection values! Besides, it just turned Tanki into a memory game, which is lame. Same as point 1. Cheap paints now have a use because they don't affect your protection. Agreed. This might be fixed. It's very useful to know the MU level of your enemy. Going up against an M4 vs fighting an M3 is a big difference. This might be removed for teammates, but you gotta admit that seeing enemy protection is very useful. Useful if you need to get help or report a violator in real-time. Not every update needs to benefit gameplay. This update is cosmetic - something a lot of players care about. Well, there wasn't. You have any suggestions of your own? Same as point 8. But this in particular makes format battles a lot more accessible.

Please tell me how on earth a paint that gives you no advantage in battles whatsoever will help buyers win and break the game balance? To quote Hazel here:
-
Yes, they used this opportunity to get more revenue from paints. But it doesn't affect you, does it? The super expensive 500k paints exist only for buyers and give no advantage in battles, so the fact that developers did this does not make the game in any way worse for you.
-
No, they will read our essays later and if needed - roll out another update to make necessary changes. For example I can tell you for a fact that some feedback has already been considered by devs (I saw them post about it on RU forum), such as the problems for snipers, problems with kits and the fact that the logic they used to make some prices more valuable than others is flawed.

OK guys, how about you comment on this. Here's my personal list of what's good and bad about today's update: Pros: Allows you to use any paint in any battle Removes the need to memorise a bunch of protections Makes previously useless paints usable again Simple display mechanism for enemy tank details (just takes getting used to) Finally able to see other players' MUs Instantly possible to see all players with protection from your turret as soon as you enter a battle (instead of having to visually check their paints individually) Chat mods' icons visible in Tab list Adds more "exclusive" content to the game for players, who want to look good and show off Removes OP factor of Premium paint's 15% protection on low ranks (something hundreds of players complained about when premium was added) Apparently now you automatically get 0/10/20% Railgun protection when you enter a format battle, regardless of what module you have equipped and whether or not you have the module at all! Cons: Kits are too expensive because of useless paints - will be fixed when the next set of kits gets released Too hard to see information from R key when too many tanks are in one spot. Hard for snipers to know what protection distant enemies have - might be improved in future. Paints too expensive - nobody is forcing you to buy them and they don't give any advantage in battle Lags - this is caused by players constantly switching between battles, lobby and garage to test the update. It will most likely subside as players gradually calm down. Discuss.

What I meant is that eventually all the posts will be accounted for, but Cedric, right now, in real-time, is unable to read and reply to every single post.

If you have any questions/feedback about today's update, please post them in the official topic. If you want to share some "conspiracies" about Tanki, you can post that in the Myths and Rumours topic. Closed.

In that case it will most likely be fixed soon.
-
Didn't MOP get divided into a paint and a Legacy module?
-
Protections were always quite expensive, so not much changed in that matter, while the paints are a whole different story. All paints are simply decoration items now and buying them doesn't make it any easier for you to win. More attractive and interesting paints like Alien are now expensive because they look good and boring paints like Clay are cheaper because they look bad. The fact that they unlock at different ranks might be changed in the future, so let's see. As for the prices - nobody if forcing you to buy pretty paints, so if you don't have crystals to waste on pointless items - don't buy them. Buy a module instead, or some MUs for your equipment. Please keep the discussion about this update in the official topic. Closed.

Yeah. Really liked it :)
-
If it's an actual problem or glitch with the update, then it might be worth posting a topic in that section, but otherwise post in here because your post has a much higher chance of being seen by developers.
-
They will not remove the update regardless of how many votes it gets. Trust me, they put in a lot of thought into this and the only reason it's getting negative feedback is because people are used to the old methods and enjoy hating Tanki so much, that they dislike the update without even stopping to think if it could be good or not. People are just afraid to try new things and that's what hinders progress in the game's development.

Not a single reply in this topic will be ignored. Our CM and the Developers will eventually read every single post, no matter how many pages and how much spam there is. If you posted a sensible suggestion or constructive criticism in this topic, you can be sure that your post will not go unnoticed.
-
I agree, it does look rather confusing with a lot of tanks in one place. Perhaps developers will do something about it.
-
IMHO, the actual pictures of the different protections are quite easily visible. You just need to remember which one is which, and that will be quite easy. Pretty much the same as remembering the new supply icons when the old ones were replaced in 2014.

With a keyboard. You can also try the mouse as an alternative.

You would buy a paint for which real tigers were killed? How disrespectful of you
-
To everyone complaining about Tiger paint costing 500 000, what else did you expect from a black market paint made out of real fur of a poached endangered species? #TankiSupportsPoaching
