All the appropriate details for the competition were provided. It is indeed true that a more detailed list of the judging criteria itself might have helped, but the topic wasn't created by the eSports team, and that doesn't change the standard of the entries posted. There are always a bunch of annoyed participants (who coincidentally didn't win) after every contest, so there's no need to worry about us not being used to it, or not expecting it :)

That, sir, is not a personal transgression. It's the impression you gave from what you said... You can't expect to say "there was next to no tactical insight in the top three videos and a lack of drive" (which is hardly true or justified) without giving that impression. I wonder if you've watched those three entries entirely - half an hour worth of footage in total. Because the discussion would be much more appropriate if you could actually give examples or evidence to back up your claim that ALL of the winners were bad. Well, you're the first person to have said that here - don't worry about us, the eSports team is not only looking for recruitment from the top 3, you know (in fact, we're looking for one entrant whose joint entry with another player did not win any prize at all). Interesting how you consider rank, experience and popularity as more important than ability, quality and technique. Sorry, but we didn't use criteria which involved awarding prizes just to staff members, Generalissimos or people with channels/lots of upvotes.

As I've explained a few times now, the judging process for this contest was particularly stringent, and we considered the pros and cons of each and every entry... And we're not here to deal with popular opinion; rather, we judged in a way which was not biased by upvote numbers or popularity. This comment, in fact, is a sign of sheer desperation. The second-placed entry in particular showed a great amount of tactical insight. It's one thing to disagree with one or two of the choices made based on your own reasoned opinion, but it's another thing altogether to say all of the winners were rubbish without any justification at all... I don't want to say it, but here's the perfect sign of a sore loser. There, I said it. As I said, not all of the judges agreed with each other on all the winners, and I frankly didn't (and don't) agree with the third place choice AND have my reasons/justifications for that. BUT I appreciate the views of the judging panel as a whole (again, as I said earlier). You don't know that it was your humour or informality that meant you didn't win - and actually, that's not true. We appreciated and thought highly of quite a few 'less formal' entries, so it's best not to jump to conclusions. Experience was neglected, definitely. We judged on the quality and standard of the entries in front of us, not on how much past achievement or how much popularity an entry received. We looked at the entry itself, not at the entrant. Good to find something we agree on :)

Having been involved in the judging for this, I dissented in terms of the views on that 3rd place entry (as I personally thought there were gaps in terms of eSports and tactical knowledge), but both Damn_Slow and GeneralVeers rated it highly. A lot of it comes down to personal opinion - however, it was agreed by all that his action commentary was pretty meritable nonetheless. I recognise that it's the overall view of the experienced judging panel which holds the most weight, not just the popular view or the view of one judge. That's what makes the judging fair. I can assure you that there was a LOT of effort put into judging, involving hours of watching the videos, assessing and analysing their different strengths and weaknesses, and finally determining a rating alongside justified comments from each judge for each entry. Most entrants including those who didn't win prizes put a considerable amount of effort into their entries, don't think that you're the only one. The competition was very strong, and so there were definitely were some good entries which narrowly missed out on a prize. However, ALL of the decisions made were justified with ratings and comments from each of us, as I said. Of course, everyone here is entitled to comment with their own opinions, and the feedback of players should be taken into account - but if you do, be mature and reasonable rather than pushing forward your own agenda as to why you should have won (zaynbad). I have a feeling that the judging would only be considered good by some if they won the contest, and that's a real shame, because it misses the whole point of the competition. Finally, congratulations to the winners, and well done to all entrants for entertaining us with some really high quality stuff ^_^

You were an excellent administrator at the heart of this community, and it was an honour working under you. All of the staff, the ol' timers of this game and those who look up to your success will remember you for a long time to come. A true inspiration for all aspiring community members. Good luck and blessings.

Reading Between the Lines. He was the one who'd managed to evade the relentless assaults of the enemy, even as his allies were mercilessly engulfed by the flames of war. He was the one who'd skirted the shadows of the undergrowth, concealed, slipping undetected past both the hollow shells of the fallen and the hollow shells of those who remained. He was to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat; the prey turned predator, the avenger of the defeated, defying the coup de grâce on the verge of its delivery. All but for the sharpshooter who foiled the ambush with a single, well-timed shot. __________ 100 words, not including the title.

Hey guys, So, yeah. Didn't think I'd ever have to make a topic like this - that's for people like Heather, really (yes you haider, big nub pls who i always beat in dem duels) - but I guess the time has come. I feel I've achieved what I wanted to in this game and community, and I'm going to be focusing on real life activities (exams .-.) more now, so... I'll be quitting Tanki for the next 6 months or so, starting today. Please, control your emotions. I know you want to smash your computer screen or possibly worse (e.g. you might even want to look in the mirror if you're Fen, or go knife people if you're an ex-CLAWer from da hood), but don't. There is no need for such drastic action. Instead, take this opportunity to heap decent amounts of attention into this topic, ty. On a more serious note, thanks to everyone, really. Thanks to all my staff colleagues, including the Reporter, eSports and FB mod teams - and a special thanks to the admins who are doing a wonderful job on a day to day basis. Thanks to my current clan and all the past ones I've been in for helping me to improve as a player and at times as a leader or co-leader, thanks to other clan players I know, including Trenzalore for providing me with an intense and memorable last game. Thanks to all the great people who make up The Flying Parkourists; you guys deserve to become official very soon, especially due to the hard work of those involved such as williew, Mia and Archy. The latter two being some of the greatest contributors to our community I know, through their inventive and helpful extra projects. And last but most definitely not least, thanks to all of my friends here, new and old, for some great moments in my Tanki career. My apologies to those who I have been less than courteous towards; I will personally make an effort to remember the good rather than the bad. It's inevitable that I've missed something out - multiple things, actually. I could name specific names, but I think you know who you are. I'll be creating a new Skype account for personal, separate use - I will visit my current one occasionally, although I may add some of those who I know well and who wish to remain in touch to my new one. By the end of today, I'll be gone. Sorry for le text wall - it's my Reporter instincts k - and see you guys in six months ^_^

Because the point of the testing is not to show the weapon to as many tankers as possible - it's just meant to be a 'workload' test.
-
The RU testers have said the reason why the Garage isn't loading is because there are just too many people on the test servers. The test is on until Monday, guys, so wait for a time when there are fewer people online to test out the gun. So there'll definitely be an opportunity to do so, don't worry!
-
The developers and testers are aware of the problem, and are working to solve it now.

Not seen you around in ages, monster o.o
-
Well yeah, these articles are based around M3 statistics as a default, I guess... But even M1/M1 is pretty good IMO, as far as M1s go.
-
Yes, I did - you even brought up the rank you were at, it was just too tempting :P
-
This is the earliest record I have of an XP duel result - note the chat in the bottom-left corner... xD Fun times duelling nub alent :3 I used Viking/Rail from WO3 to Second Lieutenant, when I switched to Hornet/Rail ^_^
-
Thanks! Here's some screenshots showing my quest to rank today - these battles were both half an hour long: Now I'd better go revise for the exams I have tomorrow... xD

I'm quite sure DarkOperative addressed your question, although not in detail. Let me explain. When accessing the game through Miniclip, a miniclip.com/tanki URL is indeed used. This is simply because Miniclip is hosting the game on its website, so it uses its own URL to provide Tanki Online to its players - this does not mean Miniclip owns Tanki in any way, shape or form. There has merely been an agreement between Miniclip and Tanki for Miniclip to be able to host the game on its website so Miniclip gets more players, in return for Tanki getting more players through Miniclip. However, Tanki has its own website when not accessed through Miniclip, which is not a subdomain of Miniclip. Hope that helped!

Feel free to take part in our writing contests, then ^_^

Two things... 1) You could fill a book with Hazel's more humorous posts :P 2) "f you can not comply, then this topic is *POOF*!" - it seems it's a case of a lack of interest in this topic more than anything...

Yes. My two M4s (Isida and Rail) are basically my two favourite weapons, and I often use Isida over Rail in DMs for quicker kills and more exciting gameplay ^_^
-
He's creating topics which already exist on purpose to show off how he found out how to post as a Guest ok.

Isida, I find, is highly tactical, especially in DMs (where I most like to use it). It requires working out how to deal as much damage as possible and still come out of a situation with full health, how to close down your targets and how to effectively use ninja tactics. Plus, it's a great weapon for learning how to control the aspects of becoming skilled which are so often ignored - such as turret rotation, hull turning/control and camera angles. What the weapon loses in conventional aiming, timing and shooting is more than made up for by the strategical and control elements involved. And also, the white text pretty much sums up the ignorance displayed in the above post...

Nice one! I actually appreciate this change. For starters, if you think it through, you can see that it'll be quite a bit more difficult for players to use low-ranked accounts to powerlevel in private battles now. As well as this, I do like the changing logic of PRO battles. In the past, they were basically a fairly small 'No Supplies' feature - but now, the developers are making them a bigger part of the game. Those players who can play and earn 5000 crystals a month to invest in PRO passes now receive the extra privileges they deserve for the crystals they pay. And one last point - you don't already use PRO battles for clan trainings? Well, you're seriously missing out on upping the standards of your clan to the professional level - after all, the clue's in the name! ;)

It'll continue next issue - I've been too busy with exam stuff to get round to it this issue >.<

As you may have noticed, I've really had no time at all for this topic recently. I have exams coming up, so I'll get this re-opened in 3 weeks. For now...
