Yep, the forum is quite a bit more boring now - I think that's more down to the change in players using it than anything else, to be honest. It seems those actively posting outside of POTD are increasingly getting more and more stupid, with topics progressively less interesting, up till the point where some posts just make you want to bash your head against your computer screen and throw your chicken out the window in frustration... (reads above posts and prepares to begin chicken-throwing)

Very well written article, and I agree with every single point you've made there. My only suggestion might be to add in some visuals such as imagery just to bump up the overall quality, but the content of what you actually wrote made for an interesting read. One of the best articles I've read from you IMO, and I hope you can continue to come up with creative ideas and execute them effectively as you've done here. Good stuff! Oh please. I might be a little biased, but I still think my M4 Isida/Hornet combo is the best attacking combination I could ever want to use. Of course Isi can only attack one enemy at once - which is why you push the midfield forwards, pick off defensive opponents and then rush in to snatch the flag whilst stealing health when an opportunity presents itself. Isida both allows a light-hull user to survive for a much longer period of time, and deals high amounts of damage to take out any pursuers who'll almost certainly be trying to get close to you. Isida is a great support turret, true, but I'd argue it's equally good at taking up the main offensive roles if used correctly.

Let's look at the term itself. It can be a derogatory term i.e. one used to insult, but it's hardly a profane word. Profanity is inherently offensive, whereas the offensive nature of other terms depends entirely on their context. There are a variety of contexts where the usage of the word does not seek to offend, and this is quite clearly one of them. I second both shade and beaku's posts.

Good question - I contemplated explaining in the article itself, but decided against doing so in the end. Anyway, appropriate ways would include enquiring about joining/applying for teams with forum topics in those topics, or by contacting the leader(s) of the teams via a private method of communication such as forum PM or Skype (many put their Skype names on their Starladder profiles). Inappropriate methods of trying to join Starladder teams, or any clan for that matter, include asking in server/battle chats or messaging on their Starladder page, which will almost always be unsuccessful, unless you happen to know the leaders/players in the team well. Even then, a more formal or private method of application would be preferable.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! There's no official status or rank of 'pro player'... it's just a description used by others for the best players who have mastered the battlefield. For example, many people consider the players in the clan ARCADE to be 'pro' (i.e. professional) in terms of the standard at which they play the game.
