My idea for a potential name for the new turret would be 'Blitz', considering it means 'an intensive or sudden attack', often involving a 'bombardment' of numerous missiles. I think it could suit the characteristics of this weapon pretty well - it might also be a good idea to hold a contest of some sort to find the best name ^_^

Here at the Tanki Online newspaper, we are passionate about providing you with information on all the latest updates, turrets, hulls, maps, contests, anything related to the community or game, and you can trust us to cover it all. But what about all the stuff which happened this month of which you may not know? Well, here's a summary of this month's more exciting events, which may or may not have actually happened. But that's a different matter altogether. Enjoy! Oh, and if you see any strange or mildly amusing events during the month, send them over to the rock of gold and he should make something out of them. 999 Flag Battles + Triple Battle funds = Much Crystals. By @GoldRock This weekend, right after I'd planned out exam revision, Tanki coincidentally decided to triple all battle funds. So, despite the fact that I did end up spending most of the weekend pretending to revise but really spying on the various battles going on throughout Server 1, it was interesting to witness the intense and glorious showdowns taking place for funds which even broke the 1 million crystal mark on a number of occasions. In one such battle, I joined with Spectator only to notice two other Spectators doing exactly the same thing as me i.e. using the mode to further the cause of procrastination, something which it's fair to say I'm pretty talented at. That awkward moment when 3 Spectators stumble across each other spying on the same battle. After the other 2 Spectators had ran, I stayed for a bit - and inevitably, a gold notification soon appeared... Interesting how players still want to fight over 1k crystals with a 1.4 million crystal fund at stake. Others who saw this picture also noted the Colonel-ranked Shaft user at the back of the pack, who was quite obviously preparing to shock everyone by somehow shooting himself into the air and flipping onto the gold. Shaft users - understated, as always... "Chemical Warfare" on the horizon as "experiment" causes explosive reaction. By @hogree Well, well, well. Three holes in the ground. An incredible month all round as the Tanki developers took their New Year Resolutions early and went for an all-change - and to be honest, the shockwaves are still vibrating. No more crystal boxes, two Gold Box changes, Return of drug wars, Predictable Drops, Change of Isida effect, Planned night mode, larger funds, triple funds, chicken funds... let's just say we can safely announce that the amount of updates this month is over infinity times the amount of M3 Hunters Fen-Harel owns. cus 0 m3 hunters --> 0 x infinity = 0 --> teh updates > 0 --> thus updates > infinity. kden. Reactions have been diverse, to put it lightly. Although some have supported the experiment from Day 1, there have been a number of emotional blackmails attempted to change Hazel-Rah's mind, not least the popular attempt of creating an emotional picture placarded with "R.I.P Crystal Boxes" in large font, preferably Size 64. However, not all the Tanki players are smart enough to use the loss of crystal boxes in such a tactical way to change the minds of the developers. In desperation, a player sent a message through to the Dictator, requesting that we talk to the developers saying "my room is full of water because the crystal boxes are blue and water is blue thus the water is in my room pls put crystal boxes back in the game". Not even Reeco9's exstreamly top-notch banter could sea river he was being serious. We can announce though that war is certainly being threatened by some. Naturally, the reaction of the experiment undoubtedly results in some emission of heat - this time coming from the fiery tempers of the infuriated crystal box campers. Rumours have been floating around that a threat was sent to Semyon with the following detailed description of the rebel's threats. "I would like to request that Tanki Online delete the experiment, or else we will download mines off Tanki, and plant them in Tanki HQ. Yours sincerely, Chris." A couple of acrostics for Chris? Chilli Hoops Randomly Ice Skiing or Crystal Hunting Really Is Sad. Yeah, probably the first one. Crystal boxes stolen? ask tankers, as conspiracy theories emerge. By @GoldRock As crystal boxes were recently removed from the game, many tankers attempted to explain just why the developers had to do this. No-one wants a boring explanation - so the devs' "it was based on player feedback" was soon disregarded in favour of more elaborate reasoning. As one expert surmised, the crystal boxes "just vanished like Fen does when you try to look up at him but see nothing because you remember he's too short". Some claim that Godmode_ON took the crystal boxes as a ransom in his showdown with the developers for the return of full supplies battles, and then decided to keep them anyway because he could (after all, he does have Semyon's family hostage). Others feel that the global recession must have finally caught up with the game; as ReekoNine put it whilst waving his knife around for emphasis, "were hittin 'ard times yeah so i go kidnap jj and ask the staff to give crys" "i didnt choose the thuglyfe the thuglyfe chose me". JJFourOneOh has since mysteriously vanished, and a second of silence has reportedly been organised by all ex-CLAW members, after which the celebrations will begin. "Now I can finally be the big XP/BP pro instead of JJ pls" commented an unnamed Reporter called Rem. Rumours of sabotage in Lan Finals spread after a suspected visit from the local hippopotamus farm. By @hogree "StarSeries? More like HippoSeries" headlined Server 1 Banter, after the shocking news of a hippo invasion hit the press just a few days ago. With the Finals closing with a fantastic showdown where Arcade once again took the victory, pipping eGuards to the title, it was not I.Shomaa and his friends that stole the limelight, but rather a slightly larger visitor. Our out-of-town secret Siberian spy member of the clan "Angels and Snowmans", FreeezeStyle, gave us a detailed report of the scenes. Unfortunately, it was in Russian. So we didn't understand a word of it. In our search to discover the truth, we hired a world-class translator to help break the truth to us, only for us to realise after translation that all the poor fellow had been saying was that he wanted a hot chicken wing. Seems like he'd been on cold turkey. *wink wink* "Fair play", we thought; before LIGHT-BULB! Maybe the hippo wanted a chicken wing too! However, that theory was soon found out by the shocking fact that the hippo did not actually enjoy the taste of chicken. Which led us on to our second theory. Perhaps it had mental problems? However, the local Russian newspapers clearly favoured more controversial theories, with one Russian reporter suggesting that unable-to-attend 4th position clan, Dawn of War, hired the hippopotamus to push the building all the way to Ukraine so that they could play, being closer to home. What arguments against that theory, you ask? Perfectly reasonable suggestion. You're right. The only, perhaps, feasible down-point to the theory is the lack of chicken involved. But fortunately, a late amendment to the theory complied to common disapproval with a post-script that Dawn of War had stated. "Note: The hippopotamus must be surrounded by seventeen chickens to show our support for the new charity, Chickens for Life." Reports from America claim that Dawn of War have now been offered their own state and a Nobel Peace Prize for every member. Out of 16 Star Series teams, they finished a disappointing 9th this time round. It was an 'offline' LAN finals, where the players in these four teams travelled to Novosibirsk, Russia. Therefore, the cheques were presumably presented there - there was an indication of this in the last V-LOG ^_^

Also, since you believe grammar is of the utmost importance: "you had purchased a Pro pass, whose validity might have expired" ...should be: "you had purchased a Pro pass, the validity of which might have expired" Unless Pro Passes are people now?

You know, saying 'sorry' for doing something probably would need to be accompanied by an understanding that you should never have done what you did in the first place, AND that you'll change your attitude/behaviour for the future. I have a feeling that Mia feels that you have not demonstrated this, as she is generally quite fair in terms of her opinions. Aside from that, your apology doesn't exactly sound particularly sincere... I would, for example, bother typing out the word 'what', at the very least.

I didn't pay anything to get it, hhh... In terms of free software, I'd choose Bandicam then - pretty good quality, only downside is the watermark (though this isn't too intrusive). Fraps isn't that intuitive to use, I think. Although judging from the posts here, you should try Screencast-O-Matic, which I haven't used before...

I use Mirillis Action!, which can be used to achieve great quality recordings, as well as allowing you to record specific areas of your screen and specific sounds. It has a pretty good instant screenshot feature, too, and the recordings can be easily exported.

And after joining a random DM for a few minutes to check out the new crystal drops...

Joined this battle with just over 20 minutes left on the timer, the leader already had about 30 kills as a head-start... M4 vs M2 = heheheheheheh

Assuming you did rank (I'm on my phone so ranks don't show up), congrats! The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything. No idea - such data is not readily available, and probably changes all the time. Apparently there's only one (at least, on this forum), lol. Both - you can get really nice shades of either colour k. This is why I don't actually have a favourite colour :P Dare... xD A lot. Because all of the bodily systems which I require to live are still working? xD "I have no idea because I can't predict the future" to all of them except the last, for which the answer is "No" :P Sure thing, lol. Such a hard question... I don't really think there is one. There are a number of very effective combos, so I couldn't properly justify why I would choose one over the rest. In my "What to mount on" series in the newspaper, I have given Hornet/Rail the highest rating so far (9/10), but this is only a judgement of how well I think the turret and hull go together in theory (according to the stats). It would depend how you define 'best'. To clarify, we had to split the prize - so I got Hornet and Isida M3 fully MUed to make them 'M4' to add to my already fully MUed Rail, and MarineMan2 got fully MUed Prodigi as well as the 100,000 crystal reward. We also do have an arrangement where I owe him a sizeable number of crystals, unfortunately for me, lol. You'll have to be a little more specific. Skills at what? Teamwork, aiming, tactics? And with what combination? Which battle mode(s), and in what kind of map? You see my point :P Thanks! ^_^ Registered for the game on 25th July, 2011 at 20:19 - so about 3 years and 4 months ago. Rank up so you can get to Lieutenant General after that, which I think looks pretty great. Not to mention all those other shiny new ranks later on ^_^

Doctor Who used to be a lot better - I pretty much stopped watching it after the first few episodes with the 11th Doctor. The 9th and 10th Doctors did a much better job, IMO.

It is uncivil to point out that if you were in my shoes, you would feel hurt if others claimed your entry is not worthy? It may not sound pleasant, and that's because it isn't. I said "I am sure those who entered can also appreciate that" for a reason. Lots of participants put in a lot of effort, and I already know that - that was pointed out to remind you that I am in the same position. Justifying my entry in public is not a 'small price' I need to pay. I paid the price when putting in time, effort and planning for my entry. Frankly, I am not obliged to explain anything at all - the same applies to all other entrants. I am not sure that you understand civility. "Maybe I didn't watch your guide closely enough? :(" is not civil, I'm sure you can see that could be taken as pretty insulting. Anyway, let's continue such discussion in the PM conversation you've started. But do remember that I do not even have to discuss this in the first place (many in my situation would not have wanted to respond after reading posts here), and so please appreciate the fact that I am giving up my time to do so. [EDIT] The downvote function is used to show when you don't agree with a post, and is a good way of doing so. I use it for this purpose, although I do not use it most of the time either. I do not know why I am suddenly obliged to explain why my entry won. Your comments may not be intended to be offensive, but I find them so. I have my own opinions as to why I think certain entries (such as DarthvaderjonGTR's) didn't win - I could provide a full analysis of my own thoughts on the specific entries of others, including criticism - but I don't feel the need to point those out and publicise them. I spent many hours of planning, testing and recording on my video, I am sure those who entered can also appreciate that. If you have complaints about the contest, cease using myself as a public scapegoat. I was hoping that I could celebrate my success in this contest in peace and that we could respect each other no matter the result, but apparently not - apologies if you think my entry is so bad. If anyone wants to have a sensible discussion about my entry without condescending questions or blaming other things ("They only won because..."), then please PM me and I would be more than happy to do so. Please try to realise that it's not pleasant if everyone says "oh that guy shouldn't have won", without considering how that makes the person feel. Would you guys like it if you won, and others who entered said you cheated, your entry is not valid, you don't deserve it? Good day to you, sirs.

First of all, congratulations to all those who won consolation prizes, and even to most players who entered. I personally thought that the general standard of entries was amazingly good! Just to clear it up, I was not the only entrant to use Spectator mode. I would think this mode does not 'guarantee victory' - it depends on how you use it, just as it depends on how you use top-quality video recording software. Of course, it's useful for boosting the quality of your entry, but it's only as good as the entrant is, in the end - it doesn't suddenly give me or anyone else any magical powers. Many top Tanki Youtubers now have it, as it's something ordinary players can have too if they prove they deserve it. In my view, it seems that those entries here which won something were all really good, and I support the idea of giving everyone who won a prize Spectator mode! Would be really awesome to see what you guys can do with it, IMO. Also, I absolutely did not win 'just because I'm staff'. The developers made the decision, and trust me, they aren't biased towards us. Like most, I have lost contests many more times than I have won them. Players say this time and time again whenever staff members do well in a contest, and this really isn't true. I wouldn't mind at all if the developers always let staff win, but this isn't the case, unfortunately for me! :lol: Semyon already cleared this up soon after the competition started - the videos do not have to show the entire completing of the dares, just how to do it. This is how the videos could be 5 minutes long, and this is why many great entries also used the best bits of the action :) Also, just to point out, blaming other people or other factors is not the way forward for success. Everyone can blame a whole variety of factors for things which happen in the end, but for me, the better thing to do is to offer a congratulations and leave it there. Criticising and claiming unfairness doesn't suddenly make you a successful winner - only hard work, and trying and trying again, can do that. If you think the system is unfair in our community, then no-one is forcing you to enter these contests - this doesn't mean we should forget about the values of respect and good sportsmanship. Anyway, congrats to all those who won something once more, and thanks to Marine for being an awesome partner for this :P
