Don't have a favourite colour... there are a lot of great ones. For example, I couldn't really pick a sapphire blue over, say, an emerald green or a ruby red. Different colours can be equally beautiful in their own ways, I guess.

That only comes into play if the ban's serious - anything up to a day ban for a minor reason such as flood would really make no difference to your chances of success in a staff application.

Is the Nomad kit worth it? I already have Rail M3, so it would basically be the equivalent of purchasing Hunter M3 and Raccoon at full price at General, without obtaining any discount or new weapon. To me, both items seem very effective - so if I don't buy it and the next 5 kits are rubbish, then I'll regret not doing so. But if I do and the next kit consists of a great paint, hull and turret combination that unlocks later and are all things I don't have, I'd miss out. Should I buy the kit, or wait for a better one? Any thoughts?

It's the week and month bans for serious reasons such as profanity or insults which would be held against you, not minor punishments for flooding!

I've been reading your topics, and your writing style seems distinct, controlled and very entertaining. This one in particular was an excellent read. You could always consider applying for the English community's Reporter team, because it seems to me like this article's pretty official-newspaper-worthy...

Interesting and well thought-out questions, good picks of interviewees (especially Kev - his answers were pure I3anter), and a great range of answers. The formatting is fine as it is, though a minor improvement could have been to add a short intro and conclude the piece in some way. However, it's quite entertaining to read - I'm impressed. By far the best interview from the Writing Club I've read so far!

I knew you'd stubbornly stand your ground on the matter, and you didn't fail to meet such an expectation. All professional interviewers edit interviewee responses to at least some extent without necessarily twisting or altering their meaning e.g. by cutting out less interesting material, polishing the grammar or placing emphasis on certain parts. Generally, it only takes a quick "Do you mind if we polish your answers a little?" at the end of an interview - or if that's too time-consuming as you said, you can just not ask them and put a disclaimer explaining how the answers have been edited at the bottom of the interview, so that there's no risk of accidentally misrepresenting what someone's said. It might be 'quicker' just to copy over answers as they are and that's that, but the easier path is always the quicker one. High quality comes into play when time and effort is taken to continuously improve articles, whether they be interviews or otherwise. It's just my feedback - take it or leave it; although it might be a better idea to ask others in the Club who might very well be more sympathetic with the tried-and-tested practice of editing interviews for quality, and take their own views on board too.

The questions in your interviews often lack imagination or variety, and the answers often lack development and aren't particularly interesting. But the main reason I've downvoted some of your most recent interviews is because you guys won't stop interviewing yourselves... It might be a good idea to actually interview people who've become well-known as a result of their actions in the community or game, which I'm sure would mean many more would want to read the interviews. Then, once you've actually established a reputation for yourselves, go ahead and give the odd self-interview. But the fact is, you guys are interviewing yourselves more than the official newspaper does i.e. where people might actually want to read such 'self-interviews', because they've worked on building a strong image of quality contribution through years of hard work. Maybe you guys should first do the same. So no, I often like reading interviews and they can be pretty interesting - it's your interviews which are boring, at the moment. And I've explained why I think so above, so it might be a good idea to take my comments on-board rather than attacking me for them, which I hope you won't do. There's the response to that PM - and once again, if my downvotes bothered you (1stsuperwhitedragon), you could have just asked for an explanation in a respectful manner rather than jumping onto the same conclusion as you made before. Which remains unfounded and completely stupid, by the way. P.S. Just a pointer - interviewee responses don't have to be exactly quoted, and can be edited for grammar mistakes with the permission of the interviewee and so long as their meaning isn't changed.

Genuinely sad to see you go. You're a really nice guy with a great sense of humour, and I'm sure you'll be missed. Keep in mind that your real-life situation isn't your fault, and that you probably just haven't met others on the same wavelength as yourself yet. I wish you all the luck in the world (you can take some of mine if you wish :P) with your entrance examination - though considering how both intelligent and hard-working you are, I doubt you'll need it.

Wow… I didn’t even consider the possibility of me winning this. My first thought as soon as I found out was that I would ask joker to give the crystals to someone else, then I read his post about the options. In any case, I’m sure many know that I have no need for the crystals whatsoever xD Anyway, that someone else is @Phoenix-Warbird. She’s been planning to purchase this combo at the sales for a while… …but they’re getting closer, and she still doesn’t have enough crystals. I have read, understood and agree with everything else you said in the above post, and I respect your views on the matter, the time you've taken to respond to me, and your mature attitude of compromise and understanding rather than one of confrontation or ignorance. Regardless of how this Club performs, I'm sure you'll do a very good job with your own future articles. In your position, I would contemplate whether to encourage an improvement in the standards here, or to consider disassociating yourself from the Club if others refuse to help in doing so. You seem both a talented individual and a valuable group member, whether your associates realise it or not. It's up to the Club as a whole to sort things out, and to appreciate and make use of your collective skills in doing so. Good luck!

Well yes, it would reflect badly on the newspaper... on the Editors who allowed such an article to be published, and on the colleagues who failed to speak up in objection. Of course it would reflect back on the individual more so than the group, but my point was that it would still reflect on the group as a whole. I highly doubt that only the Reporter responsible would be held to account if it were to be discovered that an article published in the official Tanki newspaper was plagiarised. If articles published by certain Reporters in the newspaper aren't up to scratch, then guess what readers complain about in the Main Topic? Not that so-and-so did a bad job, but to them, "the newspaper is boring/low quality". Reporters do receive individual feedback in their article topics, but the articles honestly do reflect on the newspaper as a whole. Put yourself in the reader's shoes - it would be misguided to suggest that the newspaper would not suffer any loss in reputation due to bad articles by one Reporter, because it almost certainly would. Well, there's nothing here that I disagree with... A few comments: I hope to return to the newspaper very soon, and I do appreciate that you've taken the time to respond to the issues I've raised. Also, I realise that the implication may have been raised about me 'hating' this club - but that still doesn't really justify the personal attacks on my character, about which I'm not sure I can see they got such speculations. Let me make it clear - I don't inherently dislike the club out of spite, but actions by the club in both the longer-term past and especially the more recent past mean that I don't exactly hold this club in high esteem. Would you like it if my name in some of the baseless posts of the previous few pages was replaced with 'CombatCat2'? A statement such as the one about me 'hating this club' offered as explanation for my downvotes is false, in that it implies I hold unfounded grudges of some sort against your club which caused me to downvote; which simply isn't true. As I said previously, I use the downvote feature as it's meant to be used - to show disapproval of a post, not personal hatred towards a group or individuals. I didn't mean that comment about your article in a derogatory way, but that's my opinion. It was definitely a well-written piece, just a little short. I'm sure that's just because it was meant as an introduction to a series; but it does mean that obviously there hasn't been much room for plot development yet, else I suspect I would have thought it considerably better than 'decent'. If you guys wanted me to explain my downvotes, you could have simply asked in a respectful manner - yet now I can safely say that everyone in the club who has posted here about me, including yourself, has missed that point to at least some extent. I invite you to ask me to explain anything further that you guys desire an explanation for, and although I am not obliged to do so, I would be more than happy to explain my viewpoints. Feedback should be considered a gift, and the time taken for people to explain their feedback should be highly appreciated. And just for the record, I never just said "I don't like this" in any of these explanatory posts. I politely decline your request for me not to continue. It's up to you guys as to whether you take feedback, especially when negative, as a personal attack or as something constructive. It would be great if you could point out any instances where I've delivered non-constructive criticism i.e. criticism meant to degrade and without foundation, although I personally don't think I did so at any point. Rather, it's your accusation that's unfounded, especially when you make up things I said. Personally, I find that pretty disappointing.

I was, in fact, directing that post at the whole club. The actions of the few reflect on the many. For example, the official newspaper is judged by the actions of its individual Reporters; and the same applies to any clan, group or club. All Reporters are responsible for upholding the reputation of the staff, and the image of the staff as a whole. It's called collective responsibility, and is considered a vital part of the integrity of any organisation. I don't care if it wasn't you specifically. You associate yourself by membership (and especially by replying to my post on behalf of your club) with one who falsely accuses me of downvoting his every issue, and another who claims I shouldn't be a Reporter. Enlighten me... Is that respect? Is that part of selfless contribution to the community? Is that the right way to react to criticism? Because I think not. And yes, your article was probably the only decent one that has been written by this club I've ever read.
