That's not a great bit of software if you can't vary the transparency of bits of the building to see inside detail. Most computer aided design stuff lets you do that... - But like I said aim bigger! Empire state building, PETRONAS towers, Sydney Opera House! You are unconstrained by the bricks you have at home, and can build ANYTHING! Make something magnificent, huge, amazing and crazy - which is why I posted the James May link, because his building was all of those things...

Depends if you take my paycheck and convert that to crystals - in which case its quite a lot. My "Tanki" paycheck is pretty variable : 300-1000 crystals an hour, depending on the "market" and how much time I invest.

The Shaft scope means your tank is a stationary target, vulnerable to flank and side attacks. I can see how Railgun and Smokey might benefit in targeting, but both have limitations for "sniper" work (visual signature and low damage). Twins and Rico are essentially machine guns that telegraph your location - are you really going to stop to use a scope with their range limitations?

Um - there's no roof, and its only on one floor. As Eames says to Arthur in Inception "You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger" - although perhaps not this big http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/james-may-lego That's just silly.

Try google, or even Wikipedia - you might learn something. Anyway - I stand on the toilet and flush myself down - you know, like they do in the Harry Potter movie. TPBM is a Death Star technician just as Luke Skywalker drops into the Death Star trench for that final run...

And you thought texting/phoning while driving was dangerous! I see lots of trendy hipsters in cars, on bikes and scooters having a new role as organ donors, followed by a major wave of privacy cases from people who didn't know they were being recorded, and finally explosive adoption by the (ahem) "adult" industry.

"Do. Or do not. There is no try" The terrorist does not - in the manner of Guido Fawkes, the original Epic Fail Guy, so I shrug, and walk away unscathed. Meanwhile the gentlemen or lady below me unfortunately has the strong nuclear force locally nullified, and sort of melts into a quark-gluon soup as the fundamental forces that bind their protons and neutrons together fails. Much to the amazement of the high energy physics community, who have spent frankly a great deal of tax payers money trying to do that exactly kind of thing at places like CERN. Good luck with the sub-atomic existence.... <EDIT - oops - misquoted Yoda. That would *never* do.>

Kind of answered your own question! I tend to use Dirty in the Stadium, which is usually Shaft City; lets you take an extra hit or so especially if they are not fully charged.

Always felt like twins was essentially a "tactics free zone" the way that most player use it - just a mid-range hosepipe basically. Seen a few with skill at higher ranks (hey - they stopped firing all the time so they could sneak up on people!) but its just not my playing style. Best weapon changes with rank, as its a function of what else you can get, and how common certain paints are, IMHO.

I prefer the game as it is now - not how it was before the rebalance, and not with your modifications. I look forward to seeing how your version of the game operates when you have licenced the AlternativaPlatform engine, rented some servers, and got it all going.

Um - that's the whole point. Thunder - like all weapons - has good and bad points - good being splash damage, even through walls, bad being up-close its a suicide machine. Thunder players have to try and maintain that mid-range. Don't like it? Try a different weapon!!
-
Um - how do you know what most players are? Either way, if everyone who signed up just paid $10 over the course of their Tanki career - that would be $250 million. I spent a total of $25 pre-balance (had to have that shiny M2 railgun!) and that was it, more or less. I realised that for me, winning through buying simply isn't winning - no real skill involved, just money.

Yeah well - single story wooden house, tin roof, 200 litres of clean drinking water, 2 weeks of food supplies, a camping cooker, and enough bleach and buckets for a make-shift toilet, and a solar charger for the cellphone. Not exactly luxury living, but well prepared.

How did he find out you were Jewish? Why would you want to discuss religion on Tanki? Plenty of other places on the internet where you can drag religion into the discussion if that's the kind of pointless argument you enjoy. Ever met anyone who changed their views on religion because of an online post? Lets keep Tanki about bringing down wanton destruction, death and fire on everyone equally, and keep religious opinions out!

I suspect the rebalance was needed to fix some very broken economics in part - talent costs money (ask Google or Facebook) and the monthly burn-though on Tanki with 70 developers would be huge. While code doesn't decay, the world moves on so that every spiralling maintenance and security updates are needed. I like the game post rebalance - the challenge is just as great at high ranks as it was at lower ones. The "two tier" system for hulls and guns made for a boring game in my opinion, I for one don't want it back. Already more players have joined after the rebalance than were playing before....

Well, not really. If you are going to do this analysis properly you'd need to map out the probability functions for all of the weapons with variable damage per shot, as well as those pesky critical hits probabilities, and combine those to give an overall %age chance of success for each of the two tanks in the battle - that would be a full statistical analysis. It would be the same kind of thing they show on TV Hold 'em Poker games with the probability of each hand winning before some of the cards are turned. If anyone knows the math(s) and is motivated enough it would be interesting to see....

Dominic Cobb and his dream-thieving team from Inception administer The Kick and wake me from the dream. Once I shake off the horror of being woken by Leonardo DiCaprio, I create an over elaborate, complicated and mechanical death-trap for the player below, while telling them my entire super secret and confidential plan for wold domination, knowing they can never escape.

As a friend used to say - the possibilities are enormous, but the profits - minimal! Billboards at sports events are for the spectators - and TV audience - not the players - and they are down near the action. Right now there's 50,000 users online and 32,000 in battle; the peak might be 64,000 users online and half of that in battles. That's not exactly a mass audience!

What truth? What AlernativaPlatform has achieved is astonishing - they have Adobe's attention for one - and they deserve their rewards. Maybe before you offer them advice you should set up your own site, get 25 million subscribers, and monitise it on a Freemium model successfully.
-
What Vikingsrail said! No point in going to Mammoth or Titan if you favour hit-and-run tactics, or using a Wasp if you prefer slugging it out head-to-head with Thunder.
-
Its the engineering/development costs that kill you; for example, given the Tanki platform is based on Flash, that basically means you can't get any revenue from people who use Apple products. Changing that takes a lot of effort, but if you don't keep tweaking the game you'll loose your existing customers who will get bored.

Tanki is a business - and you can bet like all online businesses they monitor their key statistics very carefully. My guess would be that they look at the players who spend and at what rank, and adjust the game accordingly. Right now they are still in "growth mode" : http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=tanki&cmpt=q Over time, that may change, for example, check out the curve for Farmville : http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=farmville&cmpt=q Spike up, and long slow decline. Right now I suspect their approach is to focus on the large number of low-mid ranks (say up to WO5) and ensuring they have a good experience, while being motivated to drop a few $$. Lots of small spenders are better than a few people who drop a lot of money at this stage - I suspect the higher rank players (say 1st Lieutenant and up) contribute a very small %age of the total revenue, as there's not so many of them. (I'm ranked about 120-130,000, which out of 25 million is not very many)
-
A couple of hundred shots would probably be enough. 100 measurements is a *little* on the light side as the chance is so small - 200-250 would nail it. But either way it is possible they have tweaked some of the gun statistics a bit and not let people know; its portably something they can track the impact of easily. Might not make a difference - most people have a pretty loose grasp of risk/probability, hence the number of people at casinos, playing the lottery and so on. Or smoking. Says the guy who lives on a major earthquake faultline :)

I'm from the 78th dimension - you just sent me home - many thanks. I deploy a temporal quantum oscillator and collapse your wave-function in this dimension and all others, utterly erasing your existence from time, space and all dimensions forever.

I deploy a cloud of boron nanoparticles, that ablate in the laser fire, absorbing the energy. And THEN hit the play below with the Ebola virus.
