Hey, have you seen splitterpoints video about Smoky + wasp that he recently uploaded? It makes Smoky look pretty appealing haha. If you havent seen it, check it out. I think the main problem with thunder though, is that its very hard to kill druggers with it. When a titan/mammy drugger charges at your base, they (if they're smart) will time their health pack for when they're pretty low on HP so they get the most use out of it. At that point, you need a large damage spike to throw them off. (Shaft or Smoky... almost railgun - but isnt a big enough spike) I'm in the same boat that you are, I was strongly considering trying to devote 2 months of my life for like 8 hours a day, grinding XP to reach your rank for Smoky/Wasp/Titan, but 140k xp for someone like me who plays more casually is just absolutely insane lol. As for killing multiple tanks with it at once... unless you get a flood of crits all at once, you can't really count on it. Sometimes you will get lucky, and other times it will feel like FOREVER since you've critted. Honestly, I think you could do very well with shaft. You don't always have to be stuck at the base, as long as you're able to aim (safely) at the exits of your base - or in Silence, keep your eye out for an attacker, and if you need to get to the base asap for defense, just jump off the edge and respawn (with shafts 3 second charge, pop a double power if needed, and that drugger is done for.) I dont think shaft should be paired with mammoth M2 though. It wouldnt be bad at the moment, but as soon as those physics come, you'll be using shaft like a railgun. I've just purchased Hunter M2 to use it with Shaft M2 which ill buy Sunday. I think shaft will even work great with wasp. Imagine facing a close range user with shaft... hes charging you, charge up, fire, run for your life (with shaft u can distance yourself from them easily) once you have a 3 second lead, turn around and charge up, bam dead. Or you can simply run from the start till someone else gets his attention. With any other slower hull though you could easily be dead. I believe you can make shaft work in almost all maps too. It works amazingly in Farm, a fun small popular map. As for thunder... its the only turret I have at M0. All others are M1/M2 , and I REALLY regret this. Its my favorite turret to have fun with, using ground shots and wall shots and getting multiple kills...I use it on my alt account as M0 with wasp. I try to master its ability to shoot at the ground from even long distances, say someone is 50 meters away, and is hiding behind the corner of a building, if you just accelerate and brake and time your shot right, you can hit the ground right next to them. Even in Combe, if they're right up against their base's front little protected wall, and shooting the back wall wont hurt them, you can shoot at the ground on both sides, and the splash damage will do its magic. Sadly, it seems 90% of thunder users don't know how to use it to the best of its ability... and many use it on heavy hulls, where its impossible to do as many manuevers with ground shots and other tactics. I'd enjoy Thunder in NSB's, on a medium or light hull, but past the M1 point (where it rules over all during the WO-Lieutenant ranks) I can't get myself to buy it since its not only very expensive, but seems far less effective. I've read alot in the Lets Discuss Thunder! Section, and it seems that it requires extra skill just to 'match' other turrets. Im not sure if I agree with that, but I've heard it alot lol. I fear that paint protections may hinder smokys effectiveness in the higher ranks. Potentially shaft may become the same. I hope it doesnt happen with shaft though. I doubt we'll see too many shaft protections in any maps besides Monte Carlo/Stadium/etc. Hope some of that helps you make the right choice.

Why make such a statement? It can be very effective... I see no problem with someone purchasing M2 isida. There will be, and need to be, Isida's at all ranks of gameplay. He'll be a great team player if he uses it properly, and will be able to compete for the top scores... and he will find much success when drugging as well. Do elaborate more. :P I dont suggest you to purchase Freeze until M3 at this point. A fairly good amount of players own freeze protection, and with the new physics coming, Freeze's after-effect duration will be reduced by half. This is a huge deal for those who wish to play with freeze on defense. Having a freeze on your team in a CTF will no longer become a game-changer in my opinion. Those 4 extra seconds are enough to get away from the enemy's base with their flag. Id suggest taking the route of Isida M0-M2 -> Firebird M2 if you're a close range lover. You don't want to make a purchase that you will regret so take your time, and dont buy freeze m1 just because its all you can afford by Sunday.

I cant really agree that Dictator M3 is the best medium hull. Its very subjective to which map/turret you use. Dictator can often be a problem with its massive size, for someone who wishes to use cover the most effectively. Hunters small size can give it a much greater dodging ability, as well as allow it to fit through smaller pathways in maps where a Dictator or Viking could not fit. Dictator also can be a problem to hit people if they ram your sides with a short hull. It becomes very difficult to hit them as a result. Viking has a few uses, but I do believe most would do better with Hunter or Dictator M3. Anyways, this isnt something that can be determined simply by looking at the stats of speed and HP. There are many other factors that need to be considered if you want to truly get the most out of your hull.

Freeze if you're gonna play defense alot, and firebird if on the attack, but once again... choose your maps wisely. Hunter + big maps + a short range weapon is not a good combination. Most people in these big maps will be using wasps/hornets, with railgun/thunder/smoky/shaft... (Im thinking Kungur.) Hope this helps.

On their own? Im pretty sure thats impossible without a fly-hack. Explain? Maybe you're not looking hard enough of where he actually is sitting... in the Halloween map, hes much much higher up than that location is in Highland. If you mean they can get on the land up there in highland using Rico, etc on their own, thats not what is shown in the picture. It was twice as high, plus hes balanced on top of the pumpkin, which is round. Getting up there without falling is even harder, it took a handful of tries.

Can you do this with all the hulls/turrets now? Specifically shaft :p M3.75 shaft lol

Im glad you like it! :) M2 isnt as great of an increase as I would like it to be, but despite that, I think it still works better than M2 viking and M2 dictator. I really really really like hunters size. Its a 'medium' sized wasp. Vikings width is huge, and dictator is just massive, hunter is a much harder target to hit, and cover can be used much more effectively. I cant wait to buy my m2 shaft to put with it! Come on next sale!

Isida works great with Hunter. I know this from experience. As for the future of this combo, when new physics are added, I cannot tell you. I think its potential will decrease slightly, due to its acceleration decreasing. It will be harder to stay within 15-20 meters of a hornet/wasp user than ever.

Is it true that Hunter will receive an HP boost, and Dictator will lose some HP for speed? Also that Titan will lose a little HP for the speed increase? And what of Mammy? Im curious about HP changes, because its a rumor going around right now. Can any mod/dev confirm if HP will be altered at ALL on any hull? Thank you.

I can't agree with this, especially with the new physics coming with shafts quick-snipe ability. I think it will be one of the best hulls to use Shaft on, and it is the very reason I purchased it last night - to use with Shaft M2. It has enough HP to withstand a few hits to retreat to cover, and enough speed to travel around the map effectively, to snipe from different points. It is stable, agile, perfect size, and in my opinion it looks great as well. When MU'd, it should be wonderful since its M3 version is quite impressive. M2 dictator should also be very impressive when micro-upgraded. Viking M2 on the other hand will absolutely NOT be worth MUing.

Honestly, its nothing special, but it is very good for use with all weapons and maps. I strongly recommend it for people who are low on cash and can only afford a few hulls. You on the other hand, own almost all M2s. And you're a heavy drugger. Stick with your Titan M2/Smoky if you want to dominate everyone else, we can't compete with that. Hunter isnt the best at M2, its M3 is greater in comparison to other hulls at its ranks. But this means that Hunter at M2, when microupgraded, will be better in comparison to something with an M3 which is crappy. (Viking for example - microupgrading it at M2 will be worthless) Hunter micro-upgraded at M2 should be very useful. I used my M1 hunter with Isida + electra, and it worked very well for my lower ranks. It is still very good with isida, and I plan to use it with M2 shaft once the next sale comes. The speed allows it to easily use the new ability to quick-snipe, moving around to different areas, while giving it enough HP to survive if you are careful (Which you are , since you said you use wasp sneakily.) And its small size is great for a shaft who wants to use cover to his advantage. You can travel behind the larger hulls on your team, using them as 'meat shields' so that you dont take hits directly. Though its acceleration will decrease with the installment of new physics, this isnt an issue for a shaft user, and will really only cause trouble for close-range users when facing enemies with faster hulls. Overall, I think it was a safe purchase that will serve me well in the future, and I'd recommend it to non-buyers, (or light buyers.) Its not the best hull to drug with, ZiAa-Ya-DAD, so dont purchase it if thats all you plan to do with it.

Bought M2 Hunter to go with M2 shaft/Isida. I think I'm pleased, once I get 10k more crystals and buy M2 shaft on next sale. Wish I had Digital paint at the moment though, rather than Tundra/Electra.

Should I buy M2 Hunter or M2 Dictator, to be paired with my M2 shaft / M2 isida? I own only m1 hulls currently, so which ever I buy tomorrow will be my only M2 hull.

The solution would be to play with MU's disabled (If they make this an option ENTIRELY seperate to NSB's) I too am very worried that they won't, though.

Check out what my friend Achilles1233 and I managed to do during the Halloween event! It clearly should have won for the Halloween Twitter contest, but the staff argued that the name was unable to be read in the top left corner... Pretty impressive though, right? It was done with only two people.

Its very difficult to determine how useful / unuseful a weapon is in the test servers, as 1)Everyone has full M3 sets 2)They drug to no end 3)You cant test m1's or M2's without being obliterated. Testing to see if I want to buy M1 thunder by joining matches vs generalissimos with unlimited drugs is a horrible way of doing so and would provide no benefit. The only thing the test server helps with for testing, is speed, cornering ability, rotation speed, stability, and how to aim your turret.

Goals: a) Effectively kill druggers by very little to no drugs (occasional double power) b ) Place top 3 in CTF matches of medium-small maps without using more than 10 drugs per hour c)Make an effective combo with my friend, who uses M2 isida, m2 hornet. (We play alot together and I want my combo to work fluidly with his.) Scenario 1: Force myself to devote 130 hours of my life over the next 6 weeks (that I dont really have) to ranking up to 3 red stars so I unlock Smoky m2/Titan M2... and hope for a 50% sale to buy both on New Years (or else I cant afford both) and provide lucky critical hits at the needed time, to help my friend capture flags more efficiently. OR Scenario 2: Buy M2 shaft to go with either M2 hunter, m2 wasp, or m2 mammoth or M2 Dictator and provide sniping support for my friend to capture flags safely. (Name which hull) Option 1 is a very daunting task, but I know it will be very useful. Option 2 will allow for more varied gameplay, since I already own M2 isida/freeze, BUT will it be as effective (or nearly as effective) for accomplishing my listed goals?
