OK, after more practice with M1 Railgun, I really see why it was called Fear Machine in the old Tanki. Still wondering why Dictator isn't allowed in the Star Series tournaments. I guess it would be overpowered if a team decided to stick Prodigi on it.

Woot! :tank:

I wouldn't recommend MUing your M0 stuff too much. You're going to have to get M1 equipment pretty soon.
-
OK, my thoughts on the M1 Medium Tank kit: REALLY. OP. M1 Dictator can tank a huge amount of damage, and the extra height allows you to fire on enemies from the ground floor of Stadium. M1 Railgun is a beast. Everything about it is awesome. Even M2 Hornet can be easily dealt with. Paints are great too. Cedar makes Thunder not a big concern, Desert helps with Rico a lot, and Storm is weaker than the other two but still useful against Firebird. It's very good against high ranks, and it's not even fair against lower ranks. This version of the kit has the Thekillerpenguin Seal of Approval.

OK, you have me sold. I'm getting the kit. Let's hope I can rank up/earn enough crystals/possibly win the Parody contest so I can grab that oh-so-powerful M1 Thunder in a little over a week. To my enemies: prepare to git rekt.
-
The nice thing about paints is that they don't go obsolete as much as hulls and turrets do thanks to MUs.
-
Alright. I'll wait until Tankman's Day to get it, and try to rank up as fast as possible in the meantime so I might be able to grab M1 Thunder.
-
When the kits are updated, will you not be able to get paints you haven't unlocked yet? If so, I should probably grab the Medium M1 kit soon, since it has Cedar.

Acceleration is not speed. In the speed department, Hunter is really good, topping out at 10 MPH if you MU M3 Hunter's speed. Acceleration is how long it takes for the tank to reach top speed, which Hunter is lacking in. I think Hunter should be buffed in acceleration. Hunter is pretty slow to get past roadblocks, like fallen tanks or teammates that are slowing you down, something that shouldn't really happen with a medium tank. MUing the power helps, but not quite enough.
-
Lesson learned. It does limit your abilities though, since you have to wait until you're firmly on level ground before attacking. If you fire Smoky perpendicularly to your hull: Wasp- Will flip if a significant portion is in mid-air. Cool for doing cool 360 spins, not very useful in combat. If you're not flipped, you're unstable enough that a good Smoky/Rico/Twins/even Shaft can flip you over. Hornet- Will become unstable, possibly enough for an experienced enemy to flip you over. Rarely flips on its own. Hunter- Doesn't really respond to Smoky's recoil all that much. Viking- I don't have Viking, but I can imagine it's less so. Dictator- Dictator doesn't care. Titan- Titan is indifferent. Mammoth- Mammoth laughs at your futile attempts to move it.
-
I'm sure M2 Dictator is a great hull, but I think M2 Viking is more or less superior (part of me died saying that), since the health difference is about 1 point, and it's much faster. Is there anything special (besides being unique, woohoo!) about M2 Dictator that would make it a better choice than M2 Viking?
-
An issue I'm finding with Wasp is that if you go up a ramp and immediately fire perpendicularly, you're going to flip. Hornet didn't really have this problem, but I guess it's a trade off for the speed and maneuverability.

I think I'm going to wait to purchase the Medium Tank M1 kit (I actually have enough crystals to get it this second). According to the VLOG, the drugs will be free when the kit update comes out, so I save about 8750 crystals if I wait. In the meantime, I can maybe grab something I like on Tankman's day. If I rank up quick, I can get M1 Thunder, which I know will be pretty useful. I'm tempted to buy M1 Hunter, though; it seems really good (fast speed? yep. excellent armor? yep.) The issue is that I don't know if Dictator and Hunter are sufficiently different to warrant getting both at my current rank, since I need to start saving up for M2s pretty soon.

Which server is it?

V-LOG 11 is live with lots of surprises you’ll love

Woot! The price of the kits will go down (drugs are for free). I guess I'll have to wait to purchase the M1 Medium Tank Kit. In the meantime, I guess I can MU my stuff a little bit and maybe purchase some stuff on Tankman's Day. -
I'd recommend M3 Smoky. From my experience on the test server, it's simply amazing, more so than M3 Shaft. Don't get me wrong, M3 Shaft is great too (it will absolutely destroy unprotected Hornets/Wasps and vanilla Hunters), but Smoky goes well with a wider variety of hulls and is more general-purpose. Plus, I think it looks better. :P

It might work in small maps for sitting on flags (not to the same extent as Freeze, but still).
-
I just caught a gold box on Rio today. First I've gotten in a long time, actually. The best thing to do on Rio is to wait on the bridge connecting the two rooftops (in the middle of the map), drug after about 15 seconds, and make sure you have a light hull and a weapon with recoil, like Smoky or Thunder. You'll have a wide vantage point of the other possible drop areas. If the gold lands on the rooftop, great! If you can see it falling somewhere else, hop off the building (stabilize yourself by firing your turret) and run towards it.

Maybe they should increase the price/nerf the items inside (maybe replacing Prodigi with something cheaper, like Digital). That would make it less attractive to potential buyers, since it appears to be pretty overpowered.
-
Depends. Somebody using a paint with good (20%+) Firebird protection will usually survive afterburn if they have decent health. At Generalissimo, Zeus paint makes Firebird almost completely useless. Also, what's to say that Firebird won't run out of charge like the Freeze in your example? Freeze can actually shoot for 2 seconds longer than Firebird (and it recharges quicker), so I often die more when using Firebird.
-
I don't see too many kits at my rank, but I can see why the M2 Medium Tank kit is considered overpowered. Emerald is acquired in the General ranks (when you're supposed to be facing a medium amount of M3s), and Prodigi is acquired at Marshall, when you're supposed to be facing mostly M3s. You're basically giving M3 paints to players who are still playing against M1s and M2s.
-
My M2 list (just planning ahead, folks) is as follows: -M2 Hunter (M2 Dictator gets outmatched really quickly, unfortunately, so Hunter will be my medium hull of choice for a while) -M2 Smoky (I shouldn't have to explain this) -M2 Wasp (I shouldn't have to explain this) -M2 Titan (I still need a heavy tank for some situations) -M2 Firebird (I need a close range weapon) -M2 Shaft (I shouldn't have to explain this) -M2 Thunder (somewhat tentatively, I'll try out M1 Thunder first) I don't need much else, I think. M2 Railgun isn't too special (M1 Railgun is very similar, so it'll serve me well for a long time), and the other turrets (Isida, Rico, Freeze, Twins) I can deal without.
-
As a person who uses Smoky-Titan every once in a while, it's really powerful, just slow. M1 Smoky/M1 Dictator is probably superior; when I get Dict, I'll probably ditch my Titan until I can get it M2.
-
I'm not a high ranked player myself, but I recommend that every player planning to compete use a M3/M3 combo that you're good at if possible. The last time I was in the Test Server, several players (for whatever reason) decided to use M2s instead of M3s, and they got crushed. If you're confident in your abilities, feel free to compete with whatever you're comfortable with, but the devs are very skilled players and I'm pretty sure they'll all be using M3s.
-
Crits do more damage (obviously), but they still follow the same range equation that normal shots use.
