What started this mess is mod named PC-JACK posted on Tanki's Facebook page that there would be a 50% sale for September 13. PC-JACK has been here many years assisting Tanki on the forums and on Facebook. I saved a screenshot of this before they deleted the post. So, naturally, it spread among everyone that there would be a 50% sale (also considering that in 2013 and 2014 this was true as well).

Seriously! There are times when I feel my tank is made of paper even with a DA pickup. There's just no way an M3 Hornet with DA should be popped with a single shot from any tank. Earlier today it was like that in Rio. Then other times it's the opposite - I can withstand massive attacks and seem to escape unharmed.

Anything that has to render 3D has to make use of DX. The older i-series CPUs are designed for assisting video acceleration (such as decoding a DVD or Blu-Ray) while the newer ones have more support for hardware acceleration of games. This means playing videos will likely be smooth on your laptop but playing games might not be. When you play in your browser what FPS do you get? Does the game seems smooth or it is really jerky? I suspect your lagging issues might be due to your laptop not using full hardware acceleration to render the game properly (meaning that most everything is being done via software emulation which is much slower - thus perhaps explaining your lag).

DX12 is included with Windows 10, so, by default you already have DX11 as well. You won't get any of the features of DX11 or DX12 since your graphics on your laptop can't support those. Even though you laptop can do DX10 it doesn't necessarily mean all the features of it can be rendered using the GPU. Since the i7 has an integrated graphics processing unit it can't be upgraded, either. Most laptops cannot have their GPU changed unless it was a gaming laptop, then, there might be a slot on the bottom where a new one can be installed. You could try downloading and installing the June 2010 DX9 End User Runtimes and see if that helps any.

Actually now it's fairly common practice here that if something is $100 this week and next week it is on sale for $50 then almost all major stores will refund the difference. I know how it is in Asia - I have been there and lived there before.

In the USA most items can be returned within 90 days for a refund. Even if opened or used. Exceptions would be things such as opened swim wear, etc. Electronic goods tend to have shorter return periods such as 7-14 days.

I think your issue is related to the fact that the GPU in the L640 only supports DX10/Shader 4.0 (your CPU is called the "Arrandale" core if you wish to look it up). From what I am reading to make a long story short there is something about Flash/Tanki that is requiring some capability that your laptop's CPU/GPU can't support and so it causes the crash (the L640 has an integrated graphics controller). Having Windows 10 probably doesn't really help. I ran into some issues with some games in Windows 7 requiring DX11 when I had a DX10 NVIDIA graphics card and using a development kit from Microsoft you can force DX to use DX9 for compatibility. (See this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=264396486&tscn=1401340607) You might have this in Windows10 if you search for it: dxcpl.exe If so you might be able to follow the directions in that link and by forcing Windows 10 to use DX10 it might work. I would guess that the problems you are having with the standalone player or playing through a browser (lag) are likely due to your laptop not having the capability of providing proper hardware acceleration for Flash.

What are the specs on your computer? - mostly need to know the CPU and GPU (graphics card). I have an idea but I need to know what those are.

Mine usually happens during respawn. I stopped having the fatal errors like that when I disabled the skybox and all shadow effects in the graphics settings. If I play with the skybox and shadows enabled it causes similar issues to what you seem to be having. I notice that your ping is still over 150 using the standalone Flash player. Perhaps it is still some kind of lag issue. The odd thing about this is that chat is still visible and you should be hearing the sounds - it's as if the video feed is cut but everything else works.

Happens all the time to me. I posted a detailed synposis of the issue in a message to Hazel-Rah back in July, he said he was having the same issue, and then got this response: So apprently there is a fix for what I call the BSOD (brown screen of death) but for some reason it has not been added to the game. It happens to me at least 2-3 times per 15 minute round. The only thing that prevents it is to not play Tanki in full screen until you completely spawn.

Basically it works out to a semi-permanent sale - I suspect the sales we are used to will be far and few between. I still can't fathom how a fully MU'ed M3 costs 50x more than the same item at M1 despite not giving you more than 2x the power or protection.

I know. Lucky for me I only bought Isida and it was already M2. If I had gotten Viking and then saw the VLOG I would have been furious. I sometimes wonder if the left hand doesn't communicate with the right hand there. To have a sale right now and then put this in the VLOG is totally insane.

Yes. Right now I don't have Vulcan or Titan in my garage so if I want to buy it at M3 I would skip all the costs of the lower modifications. This is essentially what a kit does - you pay only for the level of the modification of the item in the kit. As you say a major scam since people who paid for these things prior to this "update" are obviously screwed - the same as anyone who buys anything during this sale who has to pay for 1 or more modifications to get the item they want. I almost bought Viking M3 on this sale, but, I would have to pay for M2 to get M3. Now I would be stupid to buy it.

In 2013/2014 Tanker's Days had 50% sales, and, a recent post on Tanki's Facebook page said the same thing about this year. I think it is safe to say now that with instant upgrades on items based on rank, and, the quantity discount being available that the actual real sales events will be quite rare and with tiny discounts. I don't forsee them ever again giving people 50% off on top of getting 10-40% off based on what items are in their garage.
