  1. All valid points, here we are going in circles with our own experiences, this is precisely why game balance is such a dividing and complicated topic which none of us are particularly qualified to decide about, myself included.

    As would forcing groups to wait for long times by making them play against other groups, its a vicious circle unless you stike a balance between the options.

    For anyone wondering what camera inertia looks like heres a great example of what it does. For the players who've been complaining about getting nausea/motion sick, this should hopefully be closer to the Flash version's camera behaviour.

    This is is exactly what this topic and its past 6000 pages have come on to be, its good fun. Have a flick through and see what battles were like 2,3,4,5 and more years ago, its a lovely archive of what forumers who've come and gone have accomplished. :rolleyes:

Not necessarily, having heavy hulls surrounded by support players directly on the flag is one of the best ways to defend and is a sign of a good team, fair enough thats not the whole team but its all the defending team, to me its not really fair that one hull can freeze all these people, Wasp bomb has a major disadvantage of low health, its a challenge getting to the enemy base to plant the bomb in the first place. Viking has to focus on one player at a time, so any other team member in a defensive team can kill them. ^Both these examples are what I've experienced playing. None of these are comparable to Hunter IMO.

    I think during off peak times its reasonable to put groups with solo players, otherwise groups would be waiting far too long to get into a match. Even during peak times it take slightly longer to get into a battle with a group, I suspect thats because it must place you against at least one other group, though as you say with little transparency its hard to do much more than guess here. All this take away convenience from playing with friends, its impossible to fill a PRO battle consistently and with MM it would likely take far too long to get into a match if such rules were implemented. Convenience and removing barriers to entry are some of the most important things to keep players playing.

    That would utterly destroy the fun, 50% of the reason I play is to play with friends. Otherwise it just turns into a repeatable grind. Is this you main account? If so I think you'll probably change you mind after a 1000+ hrs. To me there is only so many ways to capture a flag and kill an enemy, it gets repetitive. Friends keep it fun. If not then I suppose we have different perspectives.
  12. My experience is that even in big maps one Hunter can solo on to an enemy base and destroy every single flag defender. I think it just needs a 20% reduction in range and thats it. You caught my post. :ph34r:

    If it happens its usually an Isida or Titan/Mammoth sitting on the flag with you. Though its rare its always nice when it does happen.

    I felt the same, but after 30 mins I was used to it, now the Flash version feels weird.

    Quite an interesting turn around really, wonder what will come of it.
  19. Forgot how much I missed so many of these, I remember my very first battles were on Esplanade, its a very interesting map. Wish Monte Carlo would be popular as well but I can understand why it isn't, its not the best for slow hulls and short range turrets.

    Once the HTML5 version is fully ready its unlikely the Flash version will continue to exist, there are features and changes in HTML5 which are not possible to implement in Flash and there isn't much point wasting time writing code for Flash alongside HTML5. Dont forget, HTML5 code is essentially written from scratch.

    Have you played for a while to get used to it? I found it dizzy at first but got used to it in 20 mins. These extra features will be rolled out soon, for now this is an early version.
