    Let's Discuss Striker!

Topic merged Please open the wiki, read the damage done by an M3 Striker salvo and calculate the salvo mode cycle time in respect of your proposed values (cycle time = time for a whole cycle = lockon time + fire rockets time + reload time). I think you get a cycle of aprox. 1,3 + 3x0,25 + 1,96 sec = 4,06sec. In this time you deal a damage of aprox 3.100 hp in average. You just created the most powerfull turret in the game, that almost never misses any more and has no damage-over-range restriction.. Nethertheless you might still have a point when it comes to adaptable cycle times for different M-levels / momdifications. Please consider as well, that the players chanced by the laser, have to have an idea of how much time they have to run away.
  3. Topic merged You will love the M2 "high caliber" alteration for rail, which you can get for 50k during a 50% sale.. Topic merged

You can try to take a full-screen screenshot, containing the error, your account name in the left top corner, the battle fund in the lower right corner (and if it works the statistics that come up when you press the TAB key - if possible), and send this screenshot to the tankihotline. In the past they took care of such situations; I do not know what they do now. But at least the dev's will notice that.. fast... if enough players come around with that.
  5. he's a boy ;) Well that depends. The best system would be, if the promo code get's delivered to your account (as the buyer selected the name of the tanker that should receive it), and it keeps stored in your garage. You can chppse when to use it. Think of this scenarios: 1) you get a promo code for 30.000 crystals. This one can become active right away, as it does not matter how many crystals are deposited on your account 2) you get a promo code for -30% on a single purchase in the garage, and currently is a sale. So you would like to make your purchase during the sale without using the promo code, then save more crystals over time and use the promoi code later, after the sale is over and you have enough crystals to buy something else for 30% off by using the promo code. So based on what they give away, they either need a system to store the codes for later, or use them right away. The solution to enter the code yourself solves both scenarios from above (1. and 2.), but it also allows you to resell the code to someone else for real money - which Tanki does not like to happen easily.
  6. What was your idea about, and when (approximately) did you post it?

    CLOSED — Cedric's "Virtual Office"

I thought that too, when I read the lines about players spending money on useless things. Since I realised myself how this economy here works a while ago, I always thought this system is here on purpose to make the players get short on crystals and lure them into purchases. But Hazel writes it different. Well if he means it, then a guidance would be great. Even if it is just a vlog special, that aims on newcomers and tell's them how to proceed successfully through the game without getting broke half way. This vlog could be linked from then forever in a news message, that pops up when you log in while you pass through a certain rank range (like ..). Then it vanishes again. It should contain information about the usefullness and problems of MUs, about the thought of "I want to own all M1s/M2s", about the pro's and con's of kits, the usefullness of paints and when to buy them, all backed up with the information of what you can archieve with crystals and where you would most likely need add. money if you decide to go for it (like expensive paints early in the game). Sure there is a lot more, which I miss by now.
  8. That is completely up to the developers. A promo code is something like a voucher.. you buy it, and you get something for it. Most likely the system will host promo codes for gold boxes, maybe a discount on a shop based item, maybe a discount on a garage item, .. whatever. The core of this idea i not to think about cool promo codes (as you anyways can only get things that the developers give us, like turrets, discounts, golds, supplies, ...) but it is more about the possibility to make them purchaseable by players and allow in the rules to gift them to other players.
  9. Now that I found time to read through it, I find it actually quite interesting, to see the backgrounds behind those decisions. Thanks again Maf for the translation and transcription, it was worth your work :)
  10. Thanks very much for that big amount of work! Maybe you like to put spoilers around each answer, to slim make the search for relevant questions more easy?
  11. This will also harm a single Isida trying to do a good job in it's team of non-Isidas.. and I see no reason for such a nerf in a single-Isida situation (even if there are three Isidas in a team, they are fine as they are today, as long as they do not stick togehter and heal each other all the time)
  12. Because in A I can flank them, harm one Isida, die, and no damage will prevail (as they heal each other). while in B I can flank them, harm one Isida, die, and the damage will prevail (as the rail can not heal the Isida) I put it a bit simple, and I know it depends on maps, situations, and so on.. but that's pretty much the core.

Maybe you like to rethink your idea. It would open up the game to hackers, that force this failure, in order to grab the crystals, no matter how Tanki improoves their code. And let us not forget the tankihelpline spam: "I pretend I had this failure, I have a fake screenshot, I need the crystals..") When earning crystals by crashing the client becomes so easy, we players will end up with more mults then we can ever count..
  14. Topic merged I removed your idea about limited rank ranges, as only one idea per topic is allowed (as only one idea per topic makes sense ;) ). Your idea about limited ranks will come anyways with the new matchmaking system. Your hulls cathegory idea can be done via the idea proposed in this topic.

Episode 140 of the V-LOG is here

Today: If you press the refresh button of the browser, your battle slot is reserved for aprox. 2 minutes (pretty much the same amount of time then the pause timer gives you). Within this time you can reconnect to the same battle URL and will end up in the same server and same battle right away. Future: I see no reason for them to change this, as it works perfectly in those moments when you loose your internet connection temporarily.

    1. They stated in a vlog or in a Q&A session, that if a player leaves a battle, another player from the queue is drawn in immediately. 2. Additionally I assume that this mechanism will not work through out the whole battle duration. Maybe it works like that in the first 3..5 minutes; after this time the battle will be left "as is" and you will not gain any further reinforcements. The loosing team does not proffit from artificial prolonging of the battle anyways.. and beeing called in as reinforcement to an already decided battle all the time is no fun either. So after some time it makes sense to let the battle continue without additional reinforcements. It also makes more sense for players to join a batte right from the start most of the time when they hit the magic button. But as said.. the first part is official, the second one is an assumption based on the way Tanki acted until now.
  18. The thing with the range could work.. although it's a bit hard to get the hang of such influences (for the tankers that use it). As they managed to implament the fairy-dust of the overdrive effect, they maybe can draw a circle around the ISida as well, showing the area that is affected by this feature. Your idea gave me another inspiration: would it be bad, if one tank can only he healed by one Isida at a time? If a second Isida applies it's healing as well, it will not heal and it's beam will get another color, indicating that there happens no heal. In the first 0,5 sec it will not loose energy on the not working healing aproach, but afterwards it will. For the tankers this should be pretty straight forward. They see if another isida heals the tank, as they see the beam as well as they see the health increase. If two activate the beam simultaniously, one beam will turn black and this Isida can release the healing (hmm.. may 0,5 sec are too short..). For an Isida pack this would mean, that if the enemies focus the fire on a single Isida out of the pack, they can not keep this single Isida alive while on the go. Even if they are behind cover, they have a time Issue: if the enemy fire comes in fast enough they can not make use of the pooled, faster healing (three Isidas healing one that is hurt).

I think, 1. will not be as severe, because as players can not decide any more to which battle they go, they all press the buttons that take them into battles. As they are not split up over 15..20 available battles, but all focused into 4 gamemodes, where only one battle fills ata a time, you have a much faster filling time then today. 2. true. Sad thing. You will join and quit right away. I think many will do so. I wonder how what the system does it you press the random button for CTF, it takes you to a battle that you do not like, you quit the battle and press the button right away again. Will you come to the same battle? I don't know.. we will have to see. 3. Not better or worse then today 4+5. true

    Patch Update #469 - Released 12th July 2017

Cya, and have a good time!
  21. I would not set it out as "have to ignore him as healing takes longer". Even today an Isida has to judge whom to heal.. will this guy with the low health over there survive long enough given the two incoming turrets, in order to make my healing useful for the team? Do I first heal the Rail-sniper on the left or the Twins-defender on the right? Isidas have to make this decision through out all the battle, to keep their team going as efficient as possible. Therefore it also makes sense to heal the second Isida in the team, as it should make sense to the second Isida to heal me. Thats because it helps the team. Sure it is "less convinient and less easy" as today, but that's the principle of a nerv, isn't it? And because of the suicice: I do that frequently, if I play Rail defense and if no Isida is around. Instead of waiting with 10% remaining health for the next imcoming wave, I wait for a period of temporary silence in midfield and go forward to get killed. One of the enemies looses a shot, and I have time to spawn until they are around us again. When they come, I have full health, instead of beeing an 1shot kill. This serves my team and I do it for tactical reasons. A roaming midfield Isida that roams from one midfield camper to the other? The only camping Isidas that I've ever seen in midfield camp beside a damage dealer. If those two are hurt, and the roaming midfield Isida goes there to heal them, it sounds more useful to me, that the roaming Isida heals the camping Isida first; as while it does so, the Camping Isida can recharge it's damage dealer buddy. Elsewise the roaming ISida would have to heal both.. or have I got your scenario wrong? imho the way of gameplay that fit's the Isida turret changed a lot after the takeaway of the selfhealing. I stopped to play my (on this account brand new) Isida back then.. an I use ot only occasionally if the battle requires me to do so. Right after this change the number of Isidas dropped massively. After it's damage was increased recently, some more players are using it, but most of the ones I see use it with different tactics. They are either damge dealers (Isida can deal more damage then a Freeze, and has no damage-decrease-over-range issue).. and this set's a lot of players up, especially when they melt away on a DP Isida (well, supplies.. not so much an problem of the ISida itself). Others complain that you can not kill a tank beeing healed by an Isida (not realising that they compare one tank vs two). personally an Isida seems rather balanced to me in the battles where I play. Only as packs (about ~4 of them and more) they support each other in a way that no other tank team can. That's my issue.
  22. A delay is an interresting approach. Would it work against all enemies like that?
