True...and I wish I had the spare crystals to pick up an M2 rail so I could strut my stuff as everyone ooooooed and aaaahhed and they slaughterd me :)

Probably my favorite math joke:
-
I've been an ESL teacher for many years. If someone needs help with something, send me a PM here on the forum.
-
My complaint is that there are the thousands of posts here and on the matchmaking thread saying how terrible MM is but no one at Tanki seems to care because there is almost nothing being said that addresses the needs, wants, concerns, and complaints of Tanki's player base. At least come up with a compiled list of known issues and let us know what is being done about them.. We are stuck with this awful and inferior system because the dev want it that way. Tell us when these same devs intend to fix MM or get MM to do what it was intended to to. At the very least acknowledge some of the problems that need to be worked on and improved in the near future.
-
What's wrong with you? Do you not read? This will be the third post in which I have said you are two distinct and different people. I never said you two were the same...ever...never...ever. Why is your reading comprehension so very low...do you actually read posts before replies? I said (you can go back and look) that I thought you might be the same person but the evidence at my disposal convinces me YOU ARE NOT THE SAME PERSON as Vikings4. Gosh, it is no wonder you think MM is an improvement to Tanki. I will still take your posts seriously, but you are quickly moving into the territory of "troll".
-
Correct...Sometimes clicking "Continue" does put you in a battle of the same mode you were just in...but sometimes it doesn't and dumps you into the Quick Battle queue. I'm surprised you have never had this happen to you. It happened to me so many times that now I just use "Exit" and then click the mode I wish to play. I never accused Vikings4 of being a sockpuppet...or you either. I did actually think you two might be the same person in the real world based on the your writing styles, argumentative natures, unique perspectives, the dates you both joined the forum, and maybe a few more shreds of evidence, but I concluded that you two are separate people based on your profiles/ratings. You both use different tank rigs and the same person would probably have very similar tank rigs and stats. So, let me be clear....I do not think you and Vikings4 are the same person. I believe you are two distinct and separate unique posters...OK? You seem so distraught...do you need a hug?
-
I like Massacre too. I would like it even more if whatever those invisible obstacles are didn't impede you frequently, but overall, it is one of my favorite maps...it's kind of a Twins/Viking paradise. I have found that the "continue" function is more trouble than it's worth...loading problems, like you said, or it just takes you to Quick Battle instead of the type of battle you were just in. I used to use it, but now I always just click "Exit" and click the mode I want.
-
I actually thought you might be LittleWillie, but your profiles/ratings don't match up. Anyway, it is very good to know that you have no contact with the devs....what a relief. And you are right, it is a tiny idea...a tiny idea that has the potential to make the myriad problems with MM even worse, and help NOTHING in the process. I am dealing with MM...people deal with terminal diseases, so yeah, I guess I got used to MM. Your writing is sometimes rather cryptic with all the mistakes, but I truly hope lord impoolse "likes" one of your posts again...just not any of the ones with this bad idea of yours in them. Cheers
-
It is a very bad idea. I'm sorry, but you are wrong. It is upsetting and frustrating because you are one of the people that will relay ideas and feedback to the devs...you are not "just another player". If you can look at evidence that goes to contrary to your idea and still say your idea is a good idea...and argue that it is a good idea....what chance do we players have when you take this idea to the devs. Will you say, "Here is a good idea that came from feedback in the forum". My opinion of YOUR idea and the potential harm it will cause will not even get mentioned, because it is your idea and you think it is good. And certainly the devs won't think how this idea might do damage. The only thing that might stop this bad idea is if they are lazy and don't get around to implementing it. How can you not see that any arbitrary time for an auto-kick, fail-safe, mercy-exit, in-you face-plug-pull, timed-out, whatever won't work well and will possibly cause harm to some players? Three minutes is obviously too short. Look at the screens I posted. If it had been 3 minutes I never would have gotten into a game, because the system would just keep auto-kicking me to make me wait another 3 minutes to auto-kick me to never get into a battle. If it had been 4 minutes mostly the same thing. If the auto kick didn't initiate until 5 minutes, a player might be doomed to have waiting times increased to hours before being able to enter a battle...who is going to wait that long? You are talking about potentially increasing waiting times dramatically...can't you see that? Please consider this for a moment and try to see this from a perspective other than your own. Do you really trust the devs codeing to differentiate between peak times and off times? I sure don't (I assume movies in your post is a typo) And, above all, your idea is an unnecessary feature...it's not difficult for a player to click exit and then click Play! again...it's just not hard. Let players have control. Fail-safe/auto-kick = potential harm
-
Just after I wrote the last post, I tried RGB again. I clicked Play!, waited about a minute and then clicked Exit to immediately click Play! again...another two minutes and then Exit to try and rejoin again...no joy. This time I let it run and do whatever it is the broken MM does. I got into a battle within a minute of the time shown on the screen. I got put in an RGB on Silence with about three minutes left...and on the hopelessly losing team (there was a particularly vicious Vulcan/Titian). I got one goal and the game ended. Had I not completed my missions already I would have had to go through the whole waiting process again, because I got little XP and a very small amount of crystals. Again, bare in mind that these are today...right now...not history from the glitched up introduction of MM. And these screens show why this auto-kick idea is just not a good idea, if fact it is a very bad idea and needs to be forgotten.

LittleWillie wrote:Great conversation on that you an BW777. Interestng to hear it might be a bug. I have logged exited thw queue only to rejoin to get game quickly. So I suspected something of the sort. The 3 minute timer would be a failsafe as said. If you get out of line at the movies then get back in line 5 sedoncs later the ine does not double in lenngth does it? Mo, you more or less get back at teh same point in line. So there is no risk to a quick exist and re-enter if one pauses a moment to think about it. I guess you cut in line at the movies. If you get out of line you re-enter the line at the back...you are last. This idea will only cause trouble if implemented...it figures you, who want no control, would like it. Did you not see my screen shots? Would you like more? Maybe MM works for you guys and you can get into a battle in a few seconds. Maybe that is one of the big reasons I hate MM...because it frequently takes me very long waits to join a battle. When I do, many times I only get in on the last minute. Way more times than starting a battle, I am forced to join the hopelessly losing team that is undergoing churn. Do I know about join/exit/join again trick within 3 seconds, yes I do and many times it works well. Many times it doesn't work at all. Many times the only choice is to wait until you get put into a game...and that sometimes takes 4 or 5 and even 6 minutes. This is why MM is a failure. Maybe it works for you but it doesn't work for me. If this really bad idea were to be implemented it would preclude many players from ever being able to join a battle...DM being the hardest to enter with Rugby and ASL next, followed by CP and even CTF...TDM seems to be the easiest...I guess MM likes TDM. And the very worst part is that this idea is totally unnecessary...any player can click exit whenever they wish! How hard is that? There is NO VALUE in this proposal...it helps no one but might hurt some players, therefore it should not even be brought to the devs attention.
-
These screens were taken just before this post. I got into both of these battles with in a minute of the time shown. They were back to back. Had your absolutely pointless proposal been in place I never would have gotten into an RGB battle to complete my mission...at least at this time of day when I choose to play. The problem comes from the FACT that many battles take longer to get into than 3 minutes. If this happens to me, it must happen to others. Maybe you are just lucky or maybe you only play at peak times...I don't know, but I would be one of the players kept from joining battles if I couldn't wait as long as I wished. Stop trying to force people to do things they don't want to do by making automatic features. Your idea is a very bad idea even though it may have come from trying to be helpful...it would cause harm. During the Spanish Inquisition the Church honestly believed that they were helping the poor heretic by executing him. The heretic seldom agreed.

OK, thanks. Too bad I am so lame with a railgun...I'll probably never buy one. I wish I could give it to someone that appreciated it...wish I would have gotten 3500 crystals instead (well, as long as it was a super rare "Exotic" container, 1,000,000 crystals would have made my day)
-
Question: I just got a Railgun XT in a container in my alt account (very cool red lights and even a long pause before it appeared...it did need a drumroll though :) ), But I don't own a Railgun and the XT Railgun has not shown up in my garage. So if I buy a Railgun the XT will automatically be there as an alteration? Because now it is just a skin right? Or, because I don't own a Railgun, the XT skin I got in the container is just a void container...that would seem a shame...worse than mines or batteries.

Something goes wrong many times...this is not an isolated incident. And the Latin server is a problem here because what is implemented here is also implemented on the ES servers. If an auto-kick is implemented you might as well close the Latin servers down and only open them three or four hours per day. No one would ever be able to get into a battle except for the very most peak play times. I'm sorry, but your idea is not a good idea at all. Players are very capable of clicking "exit". I have gotten into games past the three minute mark many times. You may call it a glitch, I call it MatchMaking. All you would be doing is introducing another limiting factor...and for zero benefit. it is not hard to click "exit" and then click "Join". An automatic kick will exclude some players and help zero players...it is an absolutely unnecessary feature. And, as all the Tanki mouthpieces keep saying, the bugs will be worked out of MM anyway...so don't make matters worse in the short term. Leave the exit as it is DO NOT MAKE IT AUTOMATIC. For gosh sakes leave the players a modicum of control. If a player thinks they have waited too long, let them make a concious descion to exit...don't force them.
-
That probably would be much worse than it is now since you would be auto kicked after 3 min to start again to be auto kicked in 3 min to start again to be auto kicked in 3 min to start again to be auto kicked in 3 min....and logout. I have had times where I waited over 30 minutes then finally got into a battle...granted this was around reset time and there were less than 1000 players online, but the Auto-stop would just make a bad situation much worse. The Latin server is already a disaster. It is almost impossible to join a DM battle, ever...peak or off hours. Ten hours out of the day you can join a battle with Rapid Battle in usually less than 4 minutes, in the other 14 hours, the off hours, it takes up to 45 minute and very often 20 to 30 minutes. ES is already suffering, your idea would make it impossible to play for the Latin community.
-
Well, there it is in a nutshell. Well said. The crux of the entire MatchMaking fiasco. "when you have to force your players to use something, you're doing it wrong."
-
A very interesting point and probably spot on. That would explain why they dropped it's score for healing. Greed is going to turn this game into something that only little kids will play or that you kill some time with...like solitaire or Agar.io. There are less and less differences among the turrets. Even the hulls got more homogenized about a year ago. It's like Tanki keeps trying to put players into a box or the same mold. One map, one turret, one hull, send in lots of real money...Tanki's Heaven.
-
And here in lies the actual problem. Why was it changed to match the count of gifts in the garage? Previously, Tanki let profiles show a total count...for a very long time. Why change now?....it would take very little to maintain a total count. This total count has probably sold many many gifts for Tanki and generated substantial income. If people want a large number of gifts as a kind of trophy/souvenir, isn't that good? It sells more gifts which equals more income. It is certainly a more interesting statistic than the elusive efficiency or the pointless effectiveness rating. Why keep count of gold boxes caught? In fact why does it matter how long a player played in CTF, CP, or any other mode? And paints! Crimenintially!...Tanki shows a picture of every stupid paint in your garage whether you have used them or not. Why? Isn't a personalized gift that someone sent to you, that you can delete if you wish, more important than a paint you will NEVER use? Now Tanki shoots themselves in the foot once again with an unnecessary "update" that alienates part of their player base. This tiny inconsiderate update will cost Tanki money and obviously makes some players angry and frustrated. The fools SELL these gifts to customers then delete them by age...this too is absolute idiocy in terms of marketing. But to purge a total count, just a number and a few images, that have been in place in an ongoing basis may actually step over the line of insanity. It is absolutely inconsiderate at the very best. PS Hate...I saw what someone did to your profile and I'm sorry...that was unfair and uncalled for. Guys, Tankers, don't hate on the moderators. They have no real power and are probably even sympathetic no matter what they write. Their job is to moderate our whines and complaints and help us through our frustration. They are not the enemy even though they take the shots for the Tanki devs. Sometimes they write stuff that is infuriating but I think it comes from the hope of calming and soothing or at least provoking thought after being given a different perspective.
-
I predict that I will stay frustrated with Tanki and wonder why the hell I bother to still play. I predict that Tanki will continue trying to fix the bugs and things that just don't work well, but they will fail miserably. I predict that Tanki will spin terrible future updates as the best possible course of action for the betterment and enjoyability of the game (they do it all for us don't you know) Something more concrete...OK...Striker will get a major buff in the near future (within 3 months), Tanki will sell lots of Srtiker Turrets/MUs and Striker modules/MUs

Gosh...don't you see? Gifts are one of the foundations for friendships online at Tanki. Sure, the game is the game and gifts do nothing to kill that nasty Magnum or even make your tank combo perform better...but they could make YOU perform better because you are happy and confident. Lots of Tanki is, or at least WAS social and evolves around social or semi-social situations...clans, friends list, groups, forum, e sports, parkour, private battles, pro-battles, lobby chat and in-game chat, even dropping gold boxes all have a social component. There are few ways to show friendship better than a gift in the real world or this cyber world. Since there is no intrinsic value to a Tanki gift it is pure sentiment. I am actually shocked that Tanki would remove gifts from the garage at all regardless of the ELUA. They shouldn't. But to change the profile page, where there is no storage issue is inconsiderate and even cruel. Also you analogy of shopping puts the onus on the buyer...people that had gifts removed from their profile page did not buy them, they were a memory that was sent to them someone else who bought them. Also, if what you say about not buying anything you don't need is true, the world's economy is going to crash. People impulse buy constantly...it's even got a term...it''s called s h o p p i n g . Almost any store positions products in a way that will motivate customer to impulse buy...why do you think 7-11 puts gum and candy by their counter? Anyway, I digress. Tanki also SOLD and promoted these gifts...and still are. I would guess that most gifts, especially the expensive ones are purchased and given by real money buyers. Is there any possibility that Generalissima's friends won't know what Tanki just did to her and them too really? Could there be other people like Generalissima who have had lots of gifts erased? Will Tanki ever sell as many gifts as they have in the past? Nope. Throwing sales away is not good for business and Tanki is slapping their cash supporters in the face once again...buy a badass combo...nerf it to uselessness...buy protection from turrets, have that investment turned into batteries or just disappear...now erasing gifts from profiles, something that takes up a trivial amount of effort to maintain. This is a bad and unhealthy direction...and someone, probably the actual money people at Aternativa Platform, need to take a long hard look at what is happening to their company under its current management while their company is still afloat. I have thought of this before as motivation for their actions. And not as a joke. It is almost like they are trying to drive away traffic. Smaller server load means small server size which means cheaper. After all, I would guess in Tanki Heaven, there would only be buyers...big buyers and zero whining free players. I sure would have! It is a bad rule, but OK, it's a rule. She is talking about a number on a page, maybe a few extra images with numbers. It just can't be much to maintain. And did the ELUA ever say that profiles would not store the entire amount of gifts received?...did it ever specifically say that the profile page would have gifts past the 100 count deleted? If it didn't and the profile pages maintained a complete gift count, then defacto, there was an implied promise in place that profiles would maintain a complete count. It is an implied contract by being in existence over a period of time. If I could find another game that worked similar to Tanki I would be gone in a heartbeat. They have a monopoly so they can run rough-shod over their customers and the customers take the abuse....because there is no choice other than quitting the game...and 70,000 of the abused have done just that and quit over the past two or three years. That is 3 out of 4 previous customers gone. I'm pretty sure the Ratings page and Profile page are the same thing. So yes, some of the gifts are still displayed. :)

Why be abusive in a bad situation? People can do with Tanki what they wish and don't need you telling them what to do or how to play. Believe it or not there are people in the world that think differently than you do. As I have said many times before "challenge" is not the only reason people play games...in fact, it is probably one of the smaller reasons. Most single player games have levels and the first levels are easy...you don't get challenged until you get to a higher level. As you do improve, at your own pace, it sometimes takes a lot of play to even get to that challenging level. People still like to play through those easy levels because they can... they know how to play and they play for a sense of accomplishment. It's like playing a song you know already on piano...you play it because you can relax with it. Players don't always want a challenge. Original quote: "MM makes it much more difficult to new comers to join Tanki and have a feeling of success in battles, because you just cant be succesful with one hull+turret combo in all maps. Most of the players are non-buyers." And somehow from this you got: Quote: "As for new player cannot possibly enjoy the game" ???? You don't read... you just make stuff up! What you wrote has almost nothing to do with what the original poster actually wrote. It's hard for me to read such horrendous stretches and tortured shreds of what the object was in reality. I feel compelled to counter your constant stream of drivel. We are stuck with MM. Get off the soap-box. You win, we lose. MM is here to stay. Please stop with you exaggerations, distortions, and out right inventions. You like MM...you are lucky. I, and many players, don't like it, tough, it won't go away. YOU WIN! Please just let it go and let us complain in peace or actually answer posts instead of inserting your propagandized agenda.
-
What? ??? It does not. Where do you get these idiotic conclusions. It's like looking up at the sky and saying the soup it ready. This thread started talking about new players for pity sake! New players and how they might be intimidated by some of the side effects of MM. (Actually, there are almost no real newbies ...create a new account...it's all pros now...the days of new players are already over) People are getting used to MM but they KNOW it does not do what it was intended to do no matter how many time you, one guy, keeps saying it does. We will get used to it, and hopefully it will get improvements as time goes on. We can live with it and players will adapt. But none of this means it is a better system...it means it is the ONLY system that exists.
-
Again with your standard load of malarkey. So much of what you write is JUST NOT TRUE. Where are you playing Tanki that I and most of the other players are not? MM promised BALANCED BATTLES..it has not delivered. I would say battles are unbalanced more than they are balanced, and with the old system you could choose winning, losing, rank brackets, duration, etc. With MM you have no choice. And balance doesn't even bring up the big problem of being tossed into almost completed battles on the losing team...way more often than getting to start a new battle....just a fact. Or being slaughtered by players ten ranks above you. MM has not brought balance at all and removed all choice in these unbalanced battles. You talk like MM has a hard time generating a game because of lack of players...long waits happen when there are 25,000 players online! Get real! You say yourself in this post that there used to be many many CTF battles at one time...now, MM can't get 16 players out of 25,000 to play CTF? ...please! It is a fact that MM creates WAY more blowouts than the Battle List ever did...and you have no choice but to play where MM sends you because if you quit it's back to the queue for another long wait. And again for probably the 6th time, you could have always used the Battle Button if you wanted instant access to a random battle...it would be EXACTLY the same thing as MM except you would probably have smaller rank brackets and no waiting in queue. Battle Button was the same as MM except you would be sent to a battle that other players had chosen, there was no queue and smaller, set rank brackets. If I am wrong about this, tell me another way MM differs from the Battle Button...I have asked many times but you can't answer because there are NONE. Yes, battles are fought to the end with MM. That is because there is no auto-finish for pity sake! The churn with MM is outrageous. I counted one game and 26 players passed through the losing team...26 different players in one game! So yeah, teams are full at the end of the game, but many players may have been in the game for less than a minute. And I have had countless battles where there are not even the same number of players on each team. The fact is MM is an inferior system that has been implemented with many flaws. It is less convenient and takes much of the fun out of Tanki because ALL CHOICE is removed. Will players learn to live with MM?...sure! A person can learn to live with any disability. Obviously many players are being mollified and hating MM less and less. This phenomenon will continue until MM is accepted, but that doesn't mean it is better. If you really think MM is better give players the option to play MM system or Battle List system...can you make a wild guess at which would be more popular? We are stuck with MM. They will never roll it back even if they lose 50% of their player base because they have too much invested in MM. It's here, it won't go away...ever...never...ever. As you yourself say, "Adapt, or Die". But that doesn't mean we need to LIKE it! So at least let players whine and complain without trying to sell them with a pack of untruths.

Why in hell would they lower the amount of score for Isida healing? It's function is to HEAL. Why turn it into an attack turret? These devs just do not think...if it is not cash they don't bother to consider. We already have Firebird and now the beast Freeze...why make Isida an attack turret? It is already annoying when you have an isida that doesn't pay attention to its team for healing and just wants to kill. Now that will even be worse. If anything the dummy devs should buff the scoring for actual healing of your teammates.
