Yes they did. They took away my stuff too. (A lot less stuff but it was significant.) I am glad they did that.

Well in Tanki an "m1" item is not as powerful as an "m2" item. Stop trolling. The reason he brought up the smoky screenshot was just to distract from Magnum. He is trying to "prove" Magnum isn't OP because look, this one time a smoky finished in first. If you scroll up he made a post saying basically that. [paraphrase] "Has anyone ever seen a m1 magnum finish in 1st against all generals? [but they were not all generals] Look at the m1 smoky!" [and that was an m2 smoky [probably drugging harder than anyone else that match]] So we have both distractions and lies in an attempt to keep the OP magnum as OP as possible. At this point you have to lump him with that other forum troll. Both are all about their self-interests not about the health of the game. So it goes.

I keep reading a 100k alterations "costs 200k". Whenever I read this I see a poster who is being dishonest. 200k is the price for buying two items not one. Furthermore alterations can be bought on sale for 70k or sometimes even 50k. To anyone who posts this 200k you should understand this lie does not make your argument sound convincing. It makes you sound like a liar. Liars are the opposite of convincing.

What does it matter is it if m2? It matters because you claimed this was m1 gear. You were dishonest. That is why it maters. Wolv already debunked your claim. But in addition the fact this was m2 means your hero was probably using gear very similar to everyone else in the battle. So BFD, a smoky finished in first in this one game!!! Stop the presses. GF loves to cherry pick single battle results and pretend one cherry-[icked battle is nore significant thenl the tens of thousands of battles fought daily. GF as one concern: To try to convince 40,000 Tanki players who know Magnum is a poor OP design that they are wrong, This is his goal because he uses it, he knows it is OP, and he wants to keep it that way. IMO he joins R_8 on the Lacking Credibility list. And so it goes.

Since Tanki was able to do so, Tanki was right to undo the mistake of the non-stop Black Boxes. I lost some stuff too. But I should not have got it in the first place. Tanki as wrong to screw up the programming. That sort of error occurs too often to inspire confidence in the TO company. IMO at least confidence in the company is required before making purchases from that company. Bottom line: No one was hurt more by the screw-up than the TO company itself.

Probably not even TO people know.

This could be a nightmare for TO. They could roll back the servers a couple hours. But what about the people who paid cash for a crate and got something really nice. Then teh rollback comes, the nice item is gone. TO can figure out how many crates to give back to those thatpaid cash. But then they have to open them and get new random prizes. The chance the buyer gets that really nice item again is slim. I hope that made sense. This will annoy he people they least want to annoy... their regular buyer customers.

Just do your daily missions and you will have everything you need to compete with the richest buyer. There's notiong I can buy in the shop to improve the gear I already own. Everything is MUed to 10 except backup modules and Ihave thousands of each (non-GB) supply. Buyers just get what they want faster.

Actually in most cases rocking your hull will allow considerable vertical reach either up or down. With a Titan you get quite a good reach. With a hornet you can really fling 'em high. (Wasn't that a Clint Eastwood movie?)
-
Yes, plus, how do you build an interface for this? There is no code to select a tank on screen now. Well I doubt we need worry about it. I doubt anything will come of the proposal.
-
Thanks for the clarification Maf. I thought that was what you meant but I was not sure. I honestly cannot recall a time this affected me. Or perhaps if it did, like your example here, maybe I just compensated by rocking my hull. Or maybe by moving to the side a bit for a clearer shot? ??? I have no memory of this coming up where I was frustrated by not being able to hit the tank I meant to hit. Maybe it affects turrets I do not use more than the ones I do use? Dev time needs to be prioritized on both the scope of the problem and the frequency it happens. This does not seem to be too severe on both counts. Besides, by the time a player could set the crosshair the tanks will quite likely no longer be in that exact arrangement. It is not a bad idea per se but it seems like there are more pressing needs than this.

Magnum, the weakest turret in TO. Riddler is this you? I had a TDM mission to do just moments ago. There was a desert game open at a reasonable rank and that wasn't lopsided. Now TDM is often the home of long range weapons because there are no strategic locations to capture. You can just sit at one end of the map. As the screen was loading I wondered to myself how many magnums would be in that game. There were four on my team. Four. I spent most of that game just defending the magnums against the occasional enemy that tried to kill one. Boy was that "fun". I think I have had one game in the last 20 to 30 without a Magnum in it. Those rare games are fun. But most games have at least three magnums. But noooooo. All those players are using it because it is weak. That is why you see at least three vulcans and strikers in every game. LOL

Why Mammoth, Dictator and Hornet are still worth using
LittleWillie replied to TakeAShower in Writers' Corner
e.g. Transmission gear ratios. :) -
One vertical line? I am not sure I understand. If a tank is using its hull to screen a flag carriy this is called a good tactic. If the screening is not coplete I can target an exposes corner of the flag carrier and hit it. Is this a railgun thing? I have not used railgun since my early 'try every item' days in the game.

Why not just aim?

Truth in what? 2014? Not today. -
Well for me the #1 message here is: Do not expect us to fix anything in the game until we have figured out how to make HTML5 work. So no Vulcan instant-overheating fix NOTHING done about the OP POS Magnum. IOW, more months of annoyances and Magnum swarms. Maybe they can get Magnum ownership up to about 90% before the do anything. Great.

A thought of why majority of players are unskilled
LittleWillie replied to I-Hate-Druggers in Archive
Last night in a CTF game there were about three of 'us' fighting 3 or 4 of 'them' right at their flag. One of our guys had his star up but did not use it. Had he used it we would have been able to grab the flag. Probably all three of us wold have lived to escort it home. Instead we all died. So after respawning I once again f typed "use the OD that is what they are for". Someone mistook this for a question and answered, "for catching gold boxes when you don't have drugs". For the first time I had an answer. It is bad strategy, but at least I had an answer. So at least some of the refusal to use ODs comes from obsession over catching gold boxes. Players would rather save that OD to try to catch a GB which may or may not drop instead of winning the game. Only one player can grab the GB and having and OD is not required. No one should "not have drugs" after six months of triple mission rewards. Winning the game probably means your team as a whole will gain more than 1,000 Cry compared to losing. The game WILL end. The Crystal pool WILL be awarded. A gold box MIGHT drop. In the long run you are better off playing for the win than waiting for the GB which may or may not arrive. When you see a team with 4-6 tanks running around with stars over their tanks, almost always that is the team with the lower score. i -
Ahh well those were the days before I played. But I stand corrected.

To be fair I didn't say it was small, exactly. I just want round numbers. Partial credit for an American knowing something about Luxembourg?

If you fire a missile and it does no damage what happened is lag gave you a false display. You were actually killed a split second before the launch. You see the missie in your screen but the other players do not see it. I have launched missile that have done damage even though I was destroyed while it was in flight. You are right about the DD going away in this case. But so what? The entire concept of a double damage power-up belongs in the realm of magic not physics. So wht if the DD goes away in this case? BTW Vulcan bullets also are in the die-while-in-flight category.

Oh FCOL. "Skill" In a game means being able to play effectively under the rules of that game. Differnet conditions mean different tactics :skill" simply means being able to suss out and execute the optimum tactics. If tanks 1-hit or of they 10-hit "skill": is not the issue. One given player might be more suited to a fast twitch game and another more suited to a strategic thinking game, but neither is "more skilled" than the other. This is 100% personal preference. IMO, driving out and getting 1-hit is not as interesting game play as making almost every tank-on-tank encounter a matter of scoring several shots while maneuvering and using cover. I understand why TO is set up this way. The designers want fast destruction because that is the predominant way to drive up the Crystal pool. If they did not have fast kills the Cry pool would be small. The econony is already broken. Slow pace would bean a Great Depression economy. As for the m1/m4 stuff ... The point is, how many times in the history of TO do you think A smoky has 1-hit a 100% healthy foe? My guess is, "never not one single time". Now how many times has a Shaft does this? My answer is "countless times". .

In the months of playing since this change has gone thorough I can count the times I escaped damage by screening on the fingers of one hand. You did not even know this change had gone through so you must not have seen it in actual combat. Over a period of months, perhaps a full year. I hardly ever see it work in actual combat. So excuse me but I will take hundreds of hours play experience over a theoretical posting on the forum.

The he never been a 100% health tank killed by a (similar level) single Smoky shot. Never. Do please do not expect anyone to swallow that false equivalency. Please. It might be possible to kill an m0 0/10 light hull with an m4 Smoky on DD with the m2 alteration equipped if a critical hit lands. Might, maybe, in that very narrow circumstance.; I am not going to spend time looking it up. Yeah now that I have looked at your profile you have a huge number of m1 turrets and hulls. Plus have a couple of higher level. Your problem s self-inflicted. Even as a buyer you spread your your resources too thinly. No wonder you have problems.

More strawman arguments. This is getting quite tedious. A strawman occurs when someone mis-states the other person's comment then proceeds to disprove the mis-statement. It is annoying. In a formal debate, you would lose points every single time. When someone says you should be able to rotate your turret, that is not saying "Do not ever steer your hull" Look, go ahead and play while never once turning your turret. We do not care. Why you are obsessed with the idea rotating a turret is somehow bad is a complete mystery. Most players understand one should use every tool available to the player. PS: I do not believe for one minute you have never hit a mine in months, now that overdrives leave them all over the map. Or conversely, if you are so paranoid about hitting the occasional mine you must be moving so cautiously you have missed many many scoring opportunites. Or perhaps you are a camper who sits in one spot all game.
