  1. No those were suggestions no the status quo. IMO Both Rico and Twins need to have their impact force eliminated or at least reduced to negligible. Simly put these turret "do too much". As a smoky user if I want big impact force _I_ have to give up crit hits... which is Smoky's unique feature. But Rico and Twoins? Give 'em splash, big vertical coverage, tons of impact, fast TTK rates long range ... Even with the +impact Smoky alteration I cannot disrupt a rico or a twins who have a bead on me because their impacts land several times each second. I can land only 2 hits in a bit over 3 seconds ... and my big impact option comesat the cost of no crit hits. What do Rico and Twins give up to have their huge impact effect? Nothing. I used to be able to engage these at longer ranges but no more. Now their range effective is the same as mine. But both can hit me if I duck for cover either by bounce or by splash. I have to be seen, can't afford to miss a single shot, and even then have a slower TTK. There's no rhyme or reason to these changes. Roll back everything to the Striker release date version. Do the devs play favorites? You tell me.

    Artillery Turret

Watching the video it occurred to me that Arty can shoot backwards if on a ramp, with tube at maximum elevation. :) Not sure why that would be something you'd want/need to do but it's something to keep in mind I suppose.
  3. Correct. So this change is no nerf at all. It is instead additional capability. Since they made both Rico and Twins mid-range weapons that kill you fast it is time to reduce their impact force down to trivial levels if not remove it altogether. At bare minimum make these changes. Stock Twins - Splash damage as now, zero impact force. M1 Alteration: Remove splash, return impact force to current level. Stock Rico: Bounces around corners, impact force reduced by 75% or more. Alteration: Replace bounce with splash. Impact force at corrent levels.
  4. I concur. My understanding was time between shots went down a fraction of a second but the full clip re-fresh time was lengthened.
  5. I listened to the YouTube video's talk about the upcoming clan changes. Thanks for the reference Cooper but those comments make me even more hostile to the clan system. ] Tanki's answer to clans being too small at 12 members is to say this: In the future new clans will start off even smaller. The head shakes, the eyes roll, the mind boggles. Yes, Tanki did agree the $36 price was too high. Yes, they said in future that price would be lowered. But lowering the price doe not improve the value if the clan size also shrinks! And with that the talk on clans ended. SO Pipe Dream #2 as mentioned above remains in full force: Just junk this system. Delete it. Kill it. Subtracting a negative is a positive change. PS: I know what I am suggesting will not happen. But I am being honest. These recent spate of changes have been haphazard at best. On the whole the effect has been detrimental.
  6. Thank you for the reference to the clan plans. However it should be obvious I see miles between how Tanki describes their intent and how Tanki codes it into the program. To date the system adds nothing but lag. I would think a gaming company would grow concerned when players have trouble merely logging on due to the added overload of a system used by a severe minority. But if Tanki is concerned in the slightest there is no evidence of it. What would I change? Well off the top of my head I would remove each and every change made since the last small tweak: the Smoky nerf that reduced critical hit power by a flat 10 points and which reduced Smoky's rate-of-fire. I do not understand the need for those changes, but at least they were the sort of small tweaks we were led to expect from time to time. Up to this point the game seemed as well-balanced as I have ever seen it. (Which is not long compared to many veterans fer sure.) Yes, there was some occasional talk along the lines of, "Hammer might be a bit OP". There was a pretty firm opinion the Firebird alterations were way too OP. Until the Christmas sale there were not too too many of those alteration in play. (At least at my Staff Officer rank level.) There was the common opinion that Isida was "the weakest turret". (Personally I disagreed with that.) But overall there wasn't a lot of such talk. Overall the game played well then. Then suddenly the changes lurched into untested revolutionary change territory. And because why? I have my guesses but let's just say the reasons remain a mystery. So what would I do off the top of my head? 1) Eliminate all changes since the Smoky change mentioned above. Keep that change if Tanki must. 2) If Item 1 above does not include the date the clans went in, then #2 is Eliminate the Clan System. Give every Clan Owner their purchase price back inb the form of Shop credit... give them 150% the cost in credit if needed to smooth their hurt feelings perhaps. Tanki gets to keep the money, everyone else gets to bid adieu to the lag burden., 3) Go back to the drawing board. Alterations need work a lot of work but nothing would help more than a replacing DD/DA Supplies with something more subtle than the brute force method of doubling or halving damage. Thank you for reading and asking! Well, as Pink_Legacy pointed out I was referring to those turrets with pathetic alterations such as Isida m1/m1 or Vulcan m1 to give examples. But I have to thank you regardless. The comments on Hammer you mentioned were about the recent attempt by Tanbki to nerf it, not the alterations per se. I edited that part of the text based on your comment here. Thank you. Oh it is such a delight to see that rarest of all things, close critical reading. I am a male but I am not chauvinistic about a little pronoun equality. And you even used "gender" instead of the far more commonly used "sex". I just always felt we had this clear noun to use so why rely on a word that usually puts listeners in mind of the verb? ;) Well met.
  7. This past week has really been demoralizing. These changes in this patch are ludicrous. Combined with other patches Tanki Company seems to make decisions by letting a monkey pull slips of paper out of a hat. Or some other metaphor to indicate a company out of its competence. Ad in the lag which never seems to go away now -ever- and playing has gone from happy relaxation to causing anger and high blood pressure. Why am I so hostile towards the clan system? Well one reason is at $36 it is a clear rip-off of the customer. But mostly because clans have added NOTHING to the game for me but they HAVE added so much lag sometime players cannot even log in. Isida is worse every time I play it. Just rage-quit not only the map scenario but the game entirely. Tired of dumping my entire energy bar into a Dictator and see it still standing with me out of options. This happens every day now. Tired of having the slightest lag, the slightest terrain effect, the slightest impact force throw off my beam now. Mostly I am tired of getting blown to dust by 1-shotting Shafts and Hammers or to 2.5 seconds exposure to Twins while I try to get the NERFED Isida into position to do something be it heal or hurt. Remind me again of the complaints about the 10% self-heal Isida version being OP? All I heard was "Isida is the weakest turret in the game". Thanks for the NERF, Tanki. My complements to the monkey. And Firebird? Words fail. Played a DM finished in 2nd. The 1st place finisher was a Fire with 50 kills. Now with the alteration he just did what the OP FIres of the past did: Heat you for one second. run off to victim 2, and let the afterburn kill you. Meanwhile other turrets are given alterations no player with two brain cells to rub together would ever buy. Speaking of which, has anyone seen their first Rico with the splash alteration? I haven't. Give the moneky another banana and tell him to pick again. The hammer "nerfing" was a joke. Tanki acknowledged there was an issue. We have a turret that before the changes was POing players because it could drive around 1-shotting people left and right. Tanki gave it faster fire and did not reduce it's OP damage. Shafts were a PITA on some maps before. Now they are this game try to find another map PITA. There are a b***load of maps the shaft can dominate ... this ability to 1 shot medium hulls w/o drugs is turning out to be a disaster ... unless you play shaft of course. Twins ... highest sustained DPS in the game. The love of crummy players who own bricks. Tanki makes it more powerful gives it more capability. But let's nerf Smokey. After all Smoky has to hit the same target 4-5 times to kill it. Let's reduce its rate of fire while we transforms Twins and Rico into mid-range weapons that kill twice as fast. But most of all I am tired of the DA/DD supplies. You better pop one or both on each and every spawn or just forget playing the d**n game. Did I say most of all? Well after the lag, yeah then the drugs. Redesign them into something that does not make this game trivial beyond forbearance. Not that I expect a damn thing to happen. I do regret feeling in the Christmas spirit and supporting the company with some gold box buys and alteration rentals. Had I know what was coming I'd have saved my money. I will save my money going forward ...
  8. [rolling eyes] Use some thought instead of playing Semantic Sherlock.
  9. He's not talking about each and every spawning. He's talking about those instances where it is possible to get into combat range still in good health and with full ammo. He is not averaging in the times you get 1-sot by a shaft 2 seconds after the spawn or the times you are cut to ribbons before getting into range. The point here is, even when circumstances are in your favor the new Isida is weaker than the Isida of 1-2 weeks ago.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

I'f you want to play like a noob forever by all means take this comment and believe it. All heavy tanks are noobs, basically is your point.
  11. Thanks for the insight on the Rico turret. Been a long time since I fiddled with it.
  12. I can't believe all the features they add to some turrets while at the same time removing features from others. Both Rico and twins have fast fire and considerable recoil so they added splash to both. Ran into 4 different Rico players today that did nothing but run DA/DD and drive around killing everything ... now one of them could turn his turret so I don't begrudge that player. But the other three never turned it once. When players don't even have to learn how to use their turret isn't that a sign something is amiss? Didn't make a count... but there's no shortage of twins players that never turn their turret either. And as for the noob bricks ... I've not seen those go away either. And thee's no way for me to tell if the attacking Twins has splash damage going or the Alteration that removes it. Meanwhile the y take away self-healing from the turret most players say was already the weakest. If you buy an alteration for Isida you make it even weaker. But the alterations for firebird double its lethality if not more. My Viking was exposed to 1 seconf yestereday ... one second and that and the afterburn took it down 75%. Seventy-Five Percent for 1 second exposure. But if I buy the m2 alteration for my Vulcan my DPS goes DOWN by 25%. There's no rhyme or reason to what Tanki's doing. It's getting very demoralizing.

    Gold Boxes!

One think I've noticed in the past month or two ... it is rare to see people typing no kill ... no killl ...I SAID NO KILL during drops. That's cool.
  15. The mark of well-prepared real-life artillery ... pre-marking the ranges/settings for the battlefield before the fighting begins! :D
  16. The more I play with Isida the more the nerf raises its ugly head. Actually like a hydra this nerf has more than one head. Less dangerous on attack. The energy burn IS more significant than the DPS add. Case closed, jury result in: Guilty of Nerf No self-heal: Whatever your opinion if "vamparism" helps or hurts the game overall, there is no question its removal nerfed Isida. Narrow firing arc (to make aiming easier lied Tanki): Perhaps teh most enraging change of all. Done for no reason other than to try to FORCE me to buy the pitiful self-nerfing m1 Alteration. It screws up healing on ranps and other vertical applications. My favorite map is Massacre and just try to keep your beam on target playing in Massacre now. At this point assume I use about 1,700 profane words. Case closed, jury result in: Guilty of Nerf Meanwhile splash damage has been added willt-nilly to turret after turret. Isidas still get targeted first but now they cannot even use cover to hide. Energe form cover: get killed. Try to hide under a bridge or behind a wall, get spash-killed. WTH Tanki?
  17. The addition of all these splash damage weapons is changing the game. Once Artillery goes in ... Tanki might as well just remove Wasp and Hornet from the game. This needs to ch changed immediately: THERE IS NO VISUAL INDICATOR TO WARN THE VICTIM! If there is an audio warning I do not know. For household reasons I often have to play with the sound off. While you are focused on the battle situation in a couple seconds w/o knowing it you've gone from 100% health to 30%. Meanwhile they nerf what most players called the weakest turret in the game, Isida. I was just in a game where spashers wiped me out while atop bridges while I was under it, or when I was behind a building etc. But I have to close to close range to fight back and thanks to the new tiny aiming arc even then even slight lag or terrain irregularity wil make hitting hard/impossible. But hey! Let's add spash damage to Twins! My confidence that Tanki is operating off a sound plan is nil. Confidence they are just running with whatever ideas come to them first is sky0high.
  18. EITHEH: Can't even log into game. Have to use Tank Manger to End application. OR Lag persists all game long making steering and hitting anything tithe the new nerfed Isida's narrow cone impossible,

    Let's Discuss Product Kits

The Wiki for product kits needs work ASAP. When Striker turret was added Wiki was changed. Kits now just show a picture of the tank. There is no longer a lit of the 4 components. You can tell the turret and hull from looking at it. But unless you have memorized each and every Paint color and price you will have a tedious tedious tedious time trying to find out what Paint is included and how much of the cost is (IMO) wasted on this component. And as for which Module comes with it? ? ? It is impossible to know now. Unless you go to the garage and write down each and every kit composition on your own time. Either list the info on the Kits page or put in hotlinks for each kit type to link to a new page containing that info. ALSO: Put the damn Striker kits in the garage. You will NEVER force me to buy anything from your shop. But you might force me out of the game on day by these policies.
  20. I didn't know who Hazel was eihter until last week. "You don't know who Hazel is" is such the high-school taunt. As for that "other" analysis, what anlysis? It's just a re-statement of Tanki's Isida/Hsmmer/Shaft change announcements ... right down description of the way shotguns do not work.
  21. Myself, I was reminded of the Swedish Archer howitzer when I saw the Tanki turret design, Obviously I refer to the gun and mount not the vehicle portion. :)

    What's a good crystal/hr ratio?

If you have never bought anything or have recorded every outlay you've ever made :p To answer your question: yes.
  23. What makes you think I have not played it in the game?
  24. BY the way, shotgun pellets are soft lead, subsonic, and lightweight compared to bullets. Shoot a wall or steel with shotgun pellets and with full metal jacket military rifle rounds at >2000 FPS and see which one has the significant ricochet effect .. Hint: It ain't the shotgun. Light soft lead pellets flatten out when they hit hard objects thus losing most of their energy. But I see the same example used in Tanki's spin and in this article ... hence my call to see one of these articles written with a little objectivity.
  25. Isida review on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being best: 2.5 It would be nice to see one of these change reviews starting with a healthy dose of skepticism. They all seem to me to read as though Tanki's spin is take at face-value without challenge.i. There are not two different energy pools. There is one energy pool. Attacking burs twice the energy / second. So if you attack, you are burning the same enrgy you use to heal. DPS is up by 30% but firing time is down by 45%: Net result is a nerf to the amount of damage it can do before it is out of energy and helpless to attack ... OR to heal friends. The narrowing of the attack angle is yet another nerf - a massive 5 degrees! Why was this done? Tanki says this is a buff! This makes aiming easier, they say! What a lie. It is a nerf, a big one, and for no valid reason. try to hold the beam on target on the uneven ground of Massacre in dynamic battle. Have fun with the "buff", Isida drivers! On top of that - no more self-healing at al. No one can argue this is not a nerf, even Tanki. BUT ... if you put a brick on the spacebar when neither friend nor foe is around... the brick can stay there for twice as long now. Oh boy! Previously to stop wasting energy I had to - you know - stop pressing the spacebar when there was no target. If this is a buff it's a damn immaterial one. Wow! the m1 alteration gives a whopping 45 decree arc?! Too bad it costs you a lot of range. Too bad range is critical to smart Isida play. Range allows you to heal your slugger while you hunker under cover. Range lets you kill those fires and freezes because Isida damage does not go down at maximum range ... but their DO. But at least now we know why Tanki nerfed teh regular firing arc ... they are trying to force you to buy the m1 alteration ... and thereby nerf your Isida even more with the loss of range. The m2 alteration? 5 seconds ore heal at the expense of making the Isida unable to kill anything but a light hull? (Approximation) This is a joke. Both alterations are jokes. So we have a significantly nerfed Isida because ? ? ? Because a massive number of players were complaining about how OP the Isida was? Funny, aif anyone offered an opinion on it was 98% likely to be "Isida is the weakest turret in the game". So Tanki nerfed it. Thrilling.
