Well for the vanishing small number of accounts this might apply to they can earn some Crystals then buy the Pro Pass in a day or three. Simple. Obvious.

No game balance issue should be decided by Polygon CP battles. That map/mode is not playing the game, It's just powerleveling.

Played my Smoky Viking ... Mamoth / Vulcan on the other side. Poor Vulcan. I can tell you one thing... the faster spinning turret does not do squat to stop me from circle-strafing. And smoky (with +impact alteration at least) will throw off even a mammoth's aim w/Vulcan. I must of killed that poor SOB 10 times in a row. ============ Also an addition to the above. If you are firing forward while still then move you will rock up... and the recoil from your firing will sustain that. This is even worse if you get hit in the same position... that upwards rock will stay almost forever unless you stop firing. Before the gyro nerf my Wasp could be smacked around and tipped very easily if I was firing directly left or right (sidewyas). So I had to make ap oint of it to face the enemy as best as possible while firing. That position and the gyro kept me from being flipped and tipped. But now the same exact position rocks me up and the recoil keeps me there. It's essentially a death sentence. By the time you stop firing, drift back level, spin up again... the other guy has hit you again and/or killed you.

It is to rake in as many $36 clan licenses as possible. There is no other reason. Tanki does not give a damn if the system works or not. Their addicts who spend hundreds of dollars / month on this game will accept anything, anything at all. Tanki is just milking the chumps for all they are worth.

Patch Update #439 - Balance Changes, New Alterations and Bug Fixes
LittleWillie replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
Devs are you making notes? See what ideas arise from someone who actually knows what it is like to play the game? Snottiness accomplished, I'd like to make one more point. I do not htink this was intended to be a nref. I think the devs honestly thought they were helping Vulcan. I surmise the typical Vulcan player (Vulcan + heavy hull + spacebar brick + static hull + optional Isida) complained about how hord it is to fight enemies at close range. So the devs gutted the gyro to enable these Vulcan noobs to spin their turrets. Plus of course these same spacebar brick noobs would also be complaining abut the weak damage zone. So Tanki gave the noobs what they asked for. And since Vulcan was getting all this additional power that had to be paid for by a loss of vertical arc. But of course this destruction of the gyro effect was not a boon it was a huge nerf. So we have a vertical arc nerf being imposed to "pay for" an even bigger nerf. I wish I could test the system more, but lag issues prevemnt me from logging on. Thanks Tanki! -
Hence the adjective "massive". Lag has become exponentially worse since the clan system went live. This was confirmed in the tanki newsletter.

Patch Update #439 - Balance Changes, New Alterations and Bug Fixes
LittleWillie replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
At last I was able to completee one daily mission: pick up 2 RKs. It took well over an hour of failed log in, lag so bad the tank did not respond to controls, and silly attempts to use my Vulcan to damage enemy tanks (ha ha as if!). So I found a game with only one player in it and manged to get my tank around the map long enough t find the 2 RK. Talk about a thrilling game to play! Over an hour to drive over two boxes. SO much fun. Such replay value! Then as soon as that one daily mission was completed the red ! showed on the icon. I clicked to leave teh battle to re-join the lobby. As soon as I did the red ! vanished. When I clicked the missions icon nothing happened. Changeing serviers did not fix it. All other icons responded to clicks. Only the missions one did not. So I logged off and logged back on. The red ! did not show! But clicking the icon DID open the missions window and I WAS ABLE to claim the one daily mission that had been finished. With that I logged off and posted this report. I know I am angry at this game and I know I have gone to length to express that and I know I sound like an asshole. But seriously, the Tanki player base should be up in arms over Tanki' 2017 changes. -
That's why any ratings system is arbitrary and essentially meaningless. Just ignore it.
-
"Tanki developers really know their job!"
-
No as of the last patch the worst weapon by leaps and bounds is Vulcan.
-
You are absolutely right. But it's common in gaming to have these meaningless ratings so people have something to argue about. ;) And for the Tanki company it is a way for the to distract their customers from the rotten job they are doing with the clan system, lag, and un-tested nerfings.

Patch Update #439 - Balance Changes, New Alterations and Bug Fixes
LittleWillie replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
I just tried playing a DM mode on two maps with the ol Vulcan/Wasp. I quit after a few minutes because quite frankly Vulcan has been ruined. The lodd of gyro effect means I am missing more than I am hitting, ANY impact force at all throws off the shot. Vulcan went from the most stable weapon by far to probably the lest stable by far. I previously estimated the change cost me 10% to 20% missed shots. It's more like 40% to 60%. Call it a 40% nerf ayop the recent 10%. nerf Thanks Tanki. No one knows customer satisfaction like you-all. Just tried again. Even worse... the loss of stability is costing at least half my hits ... the only wany to hit anythig is to sit still and hope no one at all hits you. This is a full 50% nerf at least unless you are a mamonth user. And that is not even taking into account the massive loss of vertical angle. The loss of gyro alone is a 50% nerf yet they still had to gut its vertical reach? I honestly consider my Wasp / Vulcan account unplayable now. U am a few thou exp points form lelving up- for the m2 Vulcan and I am sure as hell not going to buy it. I son't see me even reaching the level. I am a player who believes is spending money on a good game to keep it afloat (bit not to buy a competitive advantage.) I've bought GBs before and bought more over Christmas. I will never spend a dime on Tanki again., I will dance a jig if and when this company fails finacially. Now the connections are so bad I cannot even log on without many many attempts. Again. The one time I did log on my tank spwned then proceeded to drive straight forward until it was out of bounds and self-destructed. The turret would not turn, the hull would not turn, the tank just drove w/o me touching the controls. Tani's quality service is just so damn impressive you cannot help but love the game and I am sarcastic bastard. -
Thanks for seconding the lag report. This clan system should be dropped and the monies either refunded or a Shop credit given. It is killing the game, pure and simple. I can find a different game when the mults are bad. I cannot escape lag.

Patch Update #439 - Balance Changes, New Alterations and Bug Fixes
LittleWillie replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
As salty as I have been lately I hate to ruin my public image by sounding reasonable. <_< But yes I think you may be right. I use Wasp Vulcan and that combo was a very weird thing to control compared to most combos. Steering while firing at a close enemy was essentially impossible. I could fight at very close ranges but it required different instincts / muscle memory. After th change the combo drives while shooting much more like the other combinations. I got in among a patch of 4-5 enemies in one game and wasted most of them by being able to drive and spin the turret and shoot all at the same time. But as you say that means re-learning an entirely new set of muscle memories. It remains to be seem how much that will compensate for the loss of vertical angle, the loss of aiming stability, and way Vulcan is now easily knocked off its aim by enemies. I am a few thousand exp from 2LT and unlocking Vulcan m2. Once again Tanki leaves me not knowing if I will like a given weapon going forward. There's a sale coming up but I do not know if I will buy it. -
Yes this is my 1st account so I tested all the hulls and turrets. Then I settled on smoky/Viking for the long haul. I have had my moments w/Smoky but OTOH at other times I'm too reckless. I'm a sucker for launching myself into a nest of 2-3 enemies and entering berserker mode. Anyway thank you. I agree with you. Actually the game is most fun at the m0 to lower m2 levels. By the time you are in the Major to Colonel levels the drugs become so overly common. But with the lag added by the clan system its becoming simply unplayable. Even with every single setting turned off today I could not even drive normally. If driving a straight linbe shows laf problems how am I supposed to shoot and aim.So annoying.
-
Wow! All that for only $36!!!! That ability to chat with maybe 1 or two other people from your clan who happen to be online while you are. Wowzer! What a value. But you forgot the most important feature if the new clan system. It helps every Tanker in the game regardless if they are in a clan or not: Crippling levels of lag! Oh joy! I was so joyful just now, I logged off the game w/o finishing my missions because the lag makes simple driving problematic much less aiming and shooting. Golly gee thanks Tanki!
-
Extreme? That's not my word. But I would say this is a major nerf. Aim gets knocked off very easily now. If I am firing on the move and stop I'll rock the hull and fire into the ground. If I'm stil while shooting and start to move, I rocj and miss upwards. I can't shoot vertically like I could before, and rocking the hull to shoot higher does not do more than land 2-3 bullets. Vullcan needs to land dozens of bullets to be a fanger. It is indeed easier to turn the turret while firing and while moving ... but the loss of gyro effect means it is also harder to keep your shots landing on target. In effect the loss of stability means 10% to 20% of the shots you'd had landed with the gyro effect will miss doe to the overly-sensitive turret now. And as for the big old "buff" in the weak damage zone ... meh. This is not how to fight efficiantly, shooting at weak ranges. But most significantly having a fast turning turret means nothing ... noithing at long ranges. The slightest turn covers a lot of territory at 150+ meters. But the loss of stability does matter ... because a slight bump also means missing at long range. And this atop a massive 10% across the board nerf just weeks ago. Now with added missed shots we're talking about a 20% to 30% reduction in effective dps w/in the past month or so. Is that "extreme"? I'll let teh reader decide.

Wow... you and I see eye to eye on a lot! I play vulcan on Wasp, I lova Isida, and I find Striker a pleasant challenge (though I just used it on a test m0 account). . I also use Smoky and like to think I am one of those yo mentioned. ") Well met my friend.

And tis atop a massive 10% across the board nerf just weeks ago., Meanwhile Rico gets stuff added to it an added to it and the devs "compensate" by reducing its vertical arc by a whopping 1%... Inexplicable. -
Actually you can use your laser to help aim. Methoid 1. Just use the laser as a pointer to see how close you are and adjust your aim by eye. It's quick and the laser is on only for a fracion of a sec thus not giving you away too much. Method 2: Use your laser so it's on the enemy tank then immediately release spacebar - immediately hit spacebar. You'll lauch a single missile and you'll get the vertical arc arjustment w/o having to rock your hull.

Patch Update #437 - Player Ratings plus additional fixes
LittleWillie replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
Bravo! It's good to know other people see when they are being played for chumps. Tanki's recent moves strike me as a company teetering on the edge of financial failure so they are throwing everything they can at the players to raise money. $36 for a 12-member clan chat system smacks of desperation. -
Congrats. Not everyone has $144 they can casually toss at an online game. I recognize the need tfor a gaming company to raise revenue. I bought form Tanki (gold boxes, alteration rentals mostly) when I thought they were earning such support. But now I feel they do not deserve suport, so I don't. As for the clan system I dislike it for many reasons. > Price - not the $36 point eaxactly but for how little you get for that money, because > Quality - you get very little quality. Clans are too small the features are too little and clan battles will be about as common as Dictator ' Rail format battles. > Too Small - 12 players means that in a 24 our game most of the 12 people will not be online at the same time > Clan chat with zero or a couple other people is not very useful especially since you have to turn off regular chat to use it. > Clan battles - These wil rely upon the organizationa ability of they typical Tanki player to do a lot of WORK to arrange them. Miost will fail at this, > Sustainability - with 12 members who may or may not ever be on at the same time many or most clans will simply melt away. !2 people is too few to sustain a long term team. > System Overhead - And to handle the overhead all these new and unimpressive features, the entire game has been bogged down with exponentially more lag. So yes, priice is part of it because I do not like being taken for a sucker. A business has tto earn my money and Tanki is not providing value for that $36. And atop all that even though I choose not to buy I get hammered with so much lag at times I cannot even log in. So again I ask the question: Why not simply allow very large numbers of players to join a clan? ? ?
-
Tanki is the only online game I've ever played that put a membership limit on their clans. (By whatever name a given game uses.) Why not simply offer unlimited membership?\ Well in other game creating a clan did not cost an extra (real money) fee. (It is common for th system to consume in-game resources though.) In Tanki forming a clan costs a massive fe ... in real money. And here you have the actual purpose of the clan system: a massive cash grab for Tanki. Seriously. Look what little you get for your $36. A clan chat that you'll see only if you tun off regular chant. And the possibiulity you might fight in some clan battle ... the odds of which happening depends on the organizational skill of a bunch of 15 tear-old clan leaders. Seriously ;;; think about how little you get. Even the Tanki newspaper article struggles to name advantages. As the saying goes, a sucker is born every minute.

Patch Update #439 - Balance Changes, New Alterations and Bug Fixes
LittleWillie replied to theFiringHand in News Archive
And what "problem" exactly does diversity represent to you? Because I don't see diversity as a problem in a game that allows 7 hull choices to be matched with a dozen turret choices. And while you're at it maybe you can explain why this this patch is a "massive buff" for Vulcan. -
Somebody does. Do you not think that all players deserve a game that cracks down on cheating without paying for "protection"?
