A Happy Meta is a Light Hull Meta - Light Hulls Suck
wolverine848 replied to sensei_tanker in Archive
It's still somewhat of a mosh-pit - but - heavy hulls are built for that. Light hulls? Not so much... -
It takes a long time - but - there is literally no difference between two L ranks. Nothing new unlocked. You'd lose experience (not sure how it'd be calculated as it is per item) but experience does nothing at all for you in battle. Going from L1 to Gismo would actually be a benefit, as you get to play lower ranks.
-
They might have to deal with some "m4" Marshalls, but I don't believe that is a regular occurrence. Only way you have "m4" at that rank is BUYING or by specializing with 1 combo and very few upgraded protection modules. That is minority of players IMO. But if I were dropped to Marshall with my garage? LOL. And don't forget a Marshall can play players a bunch of ranks below them. Would be silly for me playing Majors. Would take them forever to kill my Viking if I equip the correct protection modules.

Has been getting worse lately. The watering down of rewards by adding useless FIFA/WC paints kinda... sux.

I agree - the crowded maps are one of the largest reasons light hulls suffer. Forcing 8 vs 8 on all MM maps is a mistake. 16 tanks on Highland or the "new" Sandbox? maybe if they re-added maps like Skylark it would not be so bad. Light hulls can thrive on that map. -
There's no difference between L9 & L10. What would be the point.
-
And that's all I posted? I had a difference of opinion on effectiveness of Striker. And then you started making it personal. You seem to be trying to double your posts on EN forum...
-
Like I said, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
-
I love your "but there's two 1st places" in each battle. Do you think that corrects the math? Oh my... I'm awaiting your post that will say "But... but... don't you know who I am?" Thought you were sticking to RU forum? So not only are you arrogant, but you can't make up your mind either.

Anyone can post a few screen-shots of their best battles to prove a point. Reverse - not so much. I especially like the gifs of the salvo missiles missing the target and the single-shots sailing over the targets. No vertical auto-aim at all. To each their own - Massacre is one of the few maps I will use it on. A few other maps it can be useful. But many not so. I have used the turret for > 25 hrs. NO turret should take that long to become efficient in. There's a reason you see very few of them in battles, even though Striker has been around for > 2 years. You have fun with it? That's great - keep using it. I happen to have the opinion it's mechanics are not designed well. Your "buddy" is the one who started to make it personal. In 33 posts (total!) I call that trolling.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.... noob.

I've had Vulcan on my alt since it unlocked at m2. It was perfectly fine in all things except the overheat bug that happened after the firebird afterburn update. All devs needed to do was fix that. But instead they went and made it a completely different turret. IMO it is much less flexible than before and I am disappointed with it. An unnecessary change.
-
Then why is it as rare as a unicorn on the battlefield?
-
You mentioned m4, not me. Now, how about the rest of my post? ;)
-
When noobs try to sound smart and use terminology like "kiddies" I can tell you don't have a clue. Always like the posters who claim they have "first spot in every battle". There are so many of you, it's mathematically impossible, since there's only 1 "first spot" in each battle. Keep trolling.

Striker is ok on some maps that are quite open - like massacre. And also when you are on a team dominating and can afford to sit there for 3+ seconds with that silly laser and not worry about getting destroyed. Other than that it is junk. That's why no one uses protection against it - they don't need it - it would be a waste of a module slot.
-
With 50% "weak" damage vulcan was always good at very long range, before the "update". Did not need a big damage boost. Try using an m2 vulcan with 27% fire protection. I don't think you will be as pleased with the performance as you are with your 50% module and an m4 vulcan.

FEW Marshalls have m4 equipment. It costs a LOT for the last 2-3 steps and takes a long time. VERY FEW Marshalls (aka buyers) have multiple m4 combos and multiple m4 modules. I would love it if I was knocked back to Marshall with the garage I have and played mostly Marshalls. That would be a hoot. Can't believe this has not been just outright declined.

I thought so at first as well. But... The main advantage is health vs enemies who will target the Vulcan - since it needs to stay exposed for a long period of time to do it's damage.
-
I have not seen Rio in a MM battle in over a month - on two accounts of differing ranks. Is Rio even in rotation any more?
-
I guess we have different opinions on what a "buff" is. They may have made it slightly more useful on larger, open maps where Vulcan ca fire continuously for a long period. But really, how many maps are like that and how many enemies are willing to stay in the sights that long? On the other hand, the huge % increase in spin-up time has made Vulcan terrible on smaller maps where enemies are much closer, and even large maps that have lots of cover. Spawning with enemy near means instant death. And since match-maker gives you a random map, many with lots of cover, I consider the huge loss in flexibility a nerf, not a buff. EDIT: I have a feeling we won't be seeing any new alterations for any turrets.
-
You're funny. And that's not what we have been saying. Go read the posts again.
-
You are better off with a pair of M3.5 combos + multiple modules than you with 1 combo + modules. The difference from 3.5 to 4.0 is not great at all but costs similar to buying a second combo on sale. More flexibility. And yet they said in their announcement the change was made to help medium and light hulls  I asked Nives directly about that. Not surprisingly.... no response. It's obvious they did this "buff" (I cringe+laugh every time I type that) in an attempt to sell more Alterations. I'm guessing Vulcan alterations were not flying off the shelf.

They recently edited a post I had quoted - was that the one? me-thinks they do not understand what "asinine" means and so just assumed it was a curse word. Hope they don't edit assumed... ;) FYI... My alt got 30 days premium from containers, so have been using Vulcan in Pro-battles where I can pick my map. Does ok in certain maps (Serpuhov CTF seems best), and terrible in all maps with no wide-open-spaces.

Wait a minute... oh... I get it... you're just trolling us. Well Played! :)
