A bit of both I'd say. With more turrets added over the years need at least one more protection to give freedom for tactics. Als0, so many supplies are used in battles ( DD ) that tanks are fairly easily killed if they don't have DA on all the time. Campers have advantage as they can wait for target to show before flipping on DD, whereas target almost has to equip DA as soon as they spawn. Go back to beginning - why were paints/protections originally added? Should have option to equip 4x35% instead of 3x50%. Give up a bit of "total" protection to get more flexibility.

So basically laziness. Change the turret drastically so it affects many players, instead of investing the time to do it right. Keeping the coding tied to firebird still leaves it open to more issues in the future. LAZY.

It would benefit anyone who does not care about rank. Once items are in your garage they can be used, regardless of rank. Getting dropped from L1 to Gismo is actually beneficial - slightly easier opponents.

Anyone wanting to steal the flag will be exposed for > 3 seconds. Hello Salvo! If your team is doing well, striker can move up to mid-point and either lob singles into base, or camp on a hill and use salvo. It's one of the few maps I actually use Striker effectively. With the recent tweaks it is more usable.

After 1 evening use... Striker seems a bit better - not OP, but actually usable Smoky - could not really see much of a difference. Maybe it was the teams, but smoky did not seem to perform well.

Skill can't overcome the handi-cap of doing 40 points of damage at long ranges... You think a target will sit around long enough for a smoky to take 25 shots to kill a medium hull?

You are getting some good luck then. My alt, 1 rank ago (Major) I was seeing marshalls occasionally. See at least a few per battle at Lt. Colonel now - and unfortunately - often on the other team.

Another way to look at it is... If the upgrades are just minor, and do not really improve much, in long term might not be so good because this might have been the one shot to get it right. Maybe no more improvements for a long, long time.

Nah. it's a different world when you start adding in full m3-module coverage. The major with an m2 10/10 still has very little chance against M4s with 50% protection against that majors 1 useful turret. The L can swap out turrets to find the weak link in Majors protection. They can't upgrade everything by Major. I started 3 yrs ago, so must have been between 1-2 yrs then. I stand by my opinion that allowing keeper with smoky m1 at MC is just ridiculous.

I went the Hunter rout with my alt and so far am pretty happy with it. Vulcan - still don't understand why they changed it so much. Just needed a tweak for the overheat. It's fine when you play pro-battles and can choose your map - like Serpuhov. But get placed in a map with lots of cover through match-maker and it can get ugly. I just exit certain maps when I want to play Vulcan.

It was at sergeant. When did they lower the rank requirement? :o That's just goofy if you can get the kit at MC. Buyers just quickly upgrade that and wreck everyone. Kinda silly since smoky m2 is one of the best m2 turrets.

I would try using without PTS. getting off the buffed critical more often could be a game-changer. The 40% increase in re-load can hurt. But bigger change would be using high-impact. Total loss of a buffed critical is > loss than before the new buff.

Sure you can get lots of paints. I've got waaaaaay more FIFA paints from containers than I'll ever want. Just because you got 1 animated from 13 containers does not mean many people will. So what is the proof needed for you to delete the account? :ph34r: Forgotten because it does not outperform any turret at any given range. There is always at least 1 turret better than smoky at any range.

You only get 3 protections. You think all players will ditch Freeze, Firebird and Thunder protections because smoky and striker got a boost (we don't even know how much). Plus Rail users would love it if everyone swapped that out too. I still use shaft by default because I use Viking a lot and hate the one-shot kills.

4 x 45% = increase in total protection. 4-module system would need to drop to ~ 35% each. To get more coverage you need to sacrifice some (total) protection.

Doesn't belong in this game - so - it's very nature makes it OP. Just cuz hazel says it isn't OP doesn't mean it's fine. A bit of bias there - as it is the pet-project...

I like the changes. They mention battle-group rank limits, but don't see anything about narrowing MM rank limits though... Smoky can come out of the garage now - was gathering dust. Yes, some auto-aim for striker would have been nice. Maybe the tweak on targeting time will make salvo actually usable.

What they need to work on is fixing the faults in MM. No point in introducing more monkey-wrenches into system until the system works properly.

Great with Vulcan. Speedy enough to get into good firing positions and stable enough to keep the rain of bullets on target.

I have smoky m3 17/20 and it sits in my garage unless I want to play for a lark. There are far better m3+ turrets out there... And Buff just announced! B)

Then you are picking off the weak members of the herd. Or just plain camping. Anyone can do that too. It's not just the turret and hull. Most Legend1 have almost all modules upgraded to 45% or more. That's a huge advantage over what a Major can equip. (And playing with higher ranks of a clan that help you out in battle does not count)
