    It is actually a threat now from long distance. The 'weak' damage going from 10% (dealing a tickle) to 50% is significant. Within the ranges you use it for - the buff is not huge - certainly not OP. People read smoky got a buff and dragged out their modules. Over time, as other turrets annoy them more, the smoky protection in battles will drop some.

    Wut??? :o Tanks 2m+ away from target get very large reduction in splash? (Only way you get a bunch of tanks that close is when they trying to share overdrive.) And if tank drives up close, the striker will receive 100% splash = same as the original target? And this is same for Thunder?

    My alt account at Lt. Colonel seems to be lowest rank in every battle lately - fighting Generals and Marshalls. It has the Lions animated paint from WAR equipped. Is that increasing my GS score?

    It has gotten much better at range - damage is significant, consistently. But still suffers in areas with lots of cover, or close ranges. Equipped it and MM put me in CP on Forest. Did not do well... :(

    What is that 2m "Radius of average splash damage"? Striker seems slightly more playable. The reduction in lock-on is 7%. Better than nothing, but- not much by any means. Of course they completely ignored requests for a vertical auto-aim :rolleyes:

    It's decent with Isida as you need speed to close distance with enemies, or to get to wounded team-mates. But for smoky or striker... ugh. Unfortunately I've invested a lot to get my Viking to m3 17/20. Might leave it there and eventually save for Hunter M3 on a 50% sale.

    Plus 1-in-5 (m4) will do more than maximum damage. Time to blow the dust of the m3 17/20 and slap it on my Titan. Ricco will now be relegated to mid-range. Can you imagine the surprised looks when this (with high impact) is used on Monte Carlo? :D :lol:

    "weak" damage was 10%. Now it is 50%? :o Patch Notes did not provide this info. Has WIKI been updated? Is that how weak damage works? take % of the average damage? Always thought it was % of the Maximum damage...

    Was playing mid-rank CTF battle on Highways with alt account. Enemy had at least 3 wasp-firebirds zipping in and grabbing flags. They alternated who came first to sacrifice itself to destroy the defenders while the other one made off with flag.

    Also depends on how much you play. If you mostly just complete missions your crystals to experience ratio will be much higher than if you play a lot after completing missions.

    More splash? :huh: We have enough of that already... Sure the crit at lower m-levels does more damage relative to a normal hit. But - remember it starts out at 11.5%. Does not happen often.

    The point is, critical damage at m3+ does not do a lot more damage than a good normal shot. And it's 1-in-5 chance. Not something very reliable. At lower m-levels the critical is a bigger boost than normal shots, but the wider the gap, the lower the % chance it happens. Put it another way... Would you prefer smoky critical was affected by range, but it's "weak" damage was boosted to ~ 40%?

    Criticals happen at 11.5% / 14.5% / 17.9% / 18.9% / 20.2% depending on M-level. I would hardly call that "common". It is almost sheer luck to have that happen as a first hit on said Wasp. Criticals boost smokys average damage by 9%. Nine. Percent. Not world-beating by any means.

    Why do players leave a winning team?

    I've had that happen - multiple tanks exiting half-way through battle on winning team. Worst part is... my team never gained replacements - we played 2 tanks down for remainder of battle and lost! :wacko:

    In a properly defended red base, blue will never make it up that far. The map is rigged in favor of red, even before Magnum came along. Advantages red... 1) Many missed shots will hit floor. If they bounce or splash, they will still do damage. 2) Red has multiple ways to access middle level, including dropping. Blue has to go up 3 ramps which can easily be blocked. Once you control mid-level you control 2/3 of map. Pretty much game over, all-else-being-equal.
  24. Am I using shaft incorrectly... Without supplies I do about 1300 damage : min is 1500 for m0, so... DA? Modules? always running out of supplies : How? Do you play a LOT? Once you've done missions, play Pro-Battles (no-supplies). No one can turn on DA so you can once again one-shot medium hulls.

    Demote noob Legends to Marshal

    Well ppl might be "inactive" for up to 2 minutes for legit reasons. I hate that MM does not have a lobby and allow you to set up equipment appropriate to the map. We have to enter garage once the battle starts, and that can take up to 2 minutes. (still don't think demoting me to a Marshall is punishment)
