Anyone ever make Stecky a map maker? He clearly has a knack for it.

Surprised it hasn't been said yet, the sound effect for the gun are horrible Aiming is fine Warm up is fine But shooting is about as annoying as it gets. Sounds like a fat lady crashing on a buffet because she was NOM NOM NOM'ing it before the check out. Overheat is pretty lame too. Fingers on a chalkboard. BTW, if it overheats shouldn't that require a cool down period, like 5 - 10 seconds? Looks like the gun can just shoot again with no penalty for trying to make out the energy.

What do you mean? Let's look at the facts at M3 1. 8.7 seconds per shot (Per the shots per minute information) 2. Turret speed sucks (really sucks in fact) 3. Upon hitting space bar your tank movement controls turn into targeting controls So what does this mean. Well based on what information we have via the test server it means that anyone using this gun will need to come out into the open before pressing spacebar (unless they want to do minimal damage through walls as the wall SHOULD absorb at least 50% of the damage) and become proficient at targeting when getting shot at by just about every gun from the other team. If you can't find a hard to reach spot to camp in, then essentially you have an overpriced gun that will rarely get a shot on target. Hopefully the tanki team had enough sense to make the targeting system MOVE as the tank with the shaft gun is taking shots from enemy tanks. Better drop this thing on an m3 mammoth with a ton of shields, because otherwise you are an easy target. Let the lower ranks have it, I will pick it up only after I have seen some proficient use of the weapon in combat and have learned from others on how best to use it. It looks shiny and new, but buyer beware at this point as the new targeting system SHOULD be its Achilles heal unless of course one of the following things happens 1. it can deal 100% damage when shooting through a wall. HOPEFULLY tanki developers had enough sense to make a wall take the brunt of the damage. I would like to see the wall take anywhere between 50% all the way up to 90% of the damage in some instances forcing the shaft into the open to really make kills. 2. The targeting system stays stable while the unit with shaft is getting hit by opposing unit fire, If either of these things happen then this thing will just be OP and we might as well start thinking about more Tier 3 weaponry.

Would love to see the recoil of this gun make it unmanageable for speedy hulls, essentially flipping them on their back. Now wouldn't that just be a fun time.
-
But it is not just 10 seconds, it is 10 seconds plus warm up. Its 15 seconds of dead time between shots, and that is only if you have M3. Not an attacking weapon at all. Its function is to take out drugging mammoths and Vikings. Drugging hornets have no chance.
-
Not necessarily, hence my comment on Turret turning speed. At 4.5 seconds you will have to mark your target in an open space with lots of visibility. If you are hanging out in maps with lots of cover, like Dusseldorf that 4.5 seconds is a detriment. But in maps like Monte Carlo and Silence, not issues at all hitting a hornet. My bet is that it moves much slower than Rail and thunder, and if that is the case, this gun is not as awesome as everyone thinks other than its HP capability.
-
A wall is a solid force, it will surely reduce the damage of shaft to a minimum value, hence the wide range in damage. Shooting through a wall to kill something is probably not the best strategy. It is clearly a gun that if you can master coming out of cover after the 4.5 second warm up that becomes advantageous to the user. Otherwise you are going to see a lot of noobs pressing coming out from behind cover, pressing spacebar, and standing out in the open getting crushed for 4.5 seconds. this gun will take a little more skill to use than rail (which is as simple as it gets after TWINS and FIREBIRD), as the timing is going to be critical in making kills from behind cover.

ITS OFFICIAL This is NOT a final solution. I still have issues loading games. If you ONLY stay in the new maps the .swf with the Clearlocalstorage command will enable you to go from game to game. If you then use the enablelocalstorage command and go into an older map, then try and go back into a NEW map, you have to do the workaround again. There is clearly something different in the code between the older maps and the newer maps that get stored and creates this issue. I tested it three times, all with the same result. Whether or not it is a specific older map that creates the issue, I have know idea as I kept joining the same battle (Fort Knox III). Either way it still exists and the community just wants to know if it the fix is in the works or not.
-
Well I will try it, but it is still a workaround, so my question is still there. 1. Has the problem been acknowledged by Tanki 2. Is tanki working on a solution other than a workaround? I am pretty sure that is what people want to know at this point. Also, It would help if problem is acknowledged that the current workaround (if it is the official workaround for this bug) was put in a sticky until the problem is addressed. As it exist right now, it is an obscure locked thread I just happened to read.

Request for Update: Battles NOT loading
eessydo replied to eessydo in Request for Update: Battles NOT loading Archive
I have seen several threads on this and as far as I can tell the following has been communicated about battles not loading From Mods: Flash player and browser cache should be cleaned and the problem should go away From other Players: Clear your browser cache prior to going in game as a workaround to getting in the new maps. ----------------------------- Here is the major problem that has yet to be communicated (at least to the English players) by anyone representing tanki (ie. Mod, developer, TheRussian, or the like): 1. That the issue exists AND 2. That it is working on being resolved (by something other than a time consuming and rather annoying work around) I am also finding that this performance issue is sporadically effecting older maps now, and when I used to have NO problem getting in games now I do. So clearly, this is a tanki issue. Can we at least get answers to the those two items from someone, and get an idea of when these problems will be fixed. The last time performance issues happened we got a load of clear Flash and browser cache until finally it was undeniable by Tanki that there was a performance issue. At least keep us informed, as you will find that the community finds it much more palettable when we are being told the truth about problems, rather than just giving us the same song and dance about Cache. At least be fair to your customers. Thank you The English Speaking Tanki Community. -
OHKO at a hefty price, both monetarily and via reload / warm up. 4 shots per minute if you hold down the space bar. So essentially over twice as much damage and over twice as long to reload as M3 Rail. 4.5 second warm up will take some getting used to. Any information on Turret rotation speed?

Must be a special needs school, since you posted your school name for all to see.

Peanut Butter goes "good" with Jelly and it also goes well with chocolate. Ying goes "good" with Yang Smoked Salmon and caper go good together Shrimp and Grits are a great combination So many to choose from and that is just the zen food category.

Obviously you guys didn't read the other thread, it comes out "tomorrow".

If it is a School Laptop, why are you playing Tanki on it? Wouldn't you be better served using it for something like.....I don't know........SCHOOL?
-
I do just fine some of us can line up a shot prior to coming out from behind cover and/or make a quick adjustment.
-
On a side note, why is the text not wrapping in the forum lately? Just runs on and on so you have to scroll.

I just have two questions 1. If it is an web security program that you have control of, why not just disable it OR 2. If it is your parents that have you on lock down with a content blocker, why not just ask them "I keep getting banned for inappropriate behavior on this site I use, could you please take off the content blocker long enough that I can read the rules?" Either way you get to see the rules, which would probably benefit you considering your current propensity for disobeying them. Good Luck!

Speedtest to local server, this isn't even my best download speed. Hit 50 Mb for about week consistently after a tech tweaked my connection. Speedtest to Perm, Russia

Then maybe you aren't doing it right. Follow my 5 easy steps along with my targeting method and you will do just fine. My recommendation is to start shooting the rail BEFORE you come out from behind your cover so you can spend less than a second shooting the enemy. But hey, that's just me want to get back in my hiding spot so I can wait for reload as quickly as possible. If a tank drives into, drive into it, then hit reverse and fire. You will hit your target. If they get that close though, you probably already screwed up. It is a long range weapon and it is best to treat it as such.

Whatever you say Wafje. I don't find shooting someone on the other side of Stadium all that difficult. Just line them up with the front of your barrel and the red dot on your turret. Pretty simple really. If you shoot and miss, at something coming at you run like hell and stay far enough away to pop off a second shot. It will take you 7.9 seconds of running. If you are shooting through the drugger to get to the isidia, then I wouldn't necessarily call that pro. Most people will change the angle and shoot directly at the isidia to ensure it is dead rather than letting a shielded unit take a brunt of the damage and only deliver a small amount of damage on isidia. Rail is a fairly simple gun, you line it up and shoot, hide during reload, repeat.

There are a whole host of instances that would dictate you killing two Vikings, the easiest (and probably the actual) reason is that they were already 3/4's to 2/3's dead to begin with. Most people in this conversation with a high rank all own M3 Rail, and are more than proficient with using it. To put it in your terms they are "Pro Snipers" and I would even venture to say they are probably better than you with Rail. They also own at least an M2 Thunder, most own M3's. If you haven't used both weapons at an Equal Modification, I am not even sure why you are even in the conversation. How could you be without ever having had the experience of both Turrets? So it is pretty much unanimous, the people with M3 rail and M2 or M3 Thunder all agree that Thunder is the better weapon. Pretty much case closed on which is more powerful. Now, if you can't figure out to how to use Thunder, well then stick with Rail. Most of the time (If you are not in camping mode) Thunder requires a little more brain power than: 1. Target, 2. Come out from behind cover 3. Shoot, 4. Run for cover, 5. Repeat

From reliable sources - Shaft will be tomorrow- Congratulations

Based on previous history, I am confident this gun will be full of bugs and be pulled off market even though the dates have been set. just seems to be way things work around here so my confidence level is low.
