    Gear Score system VS V&R system

    I prefer the GS system, it's quicker. When I join a battle I press Tab and in a few seconds I can decide if it's worth to play or if it's better to search for another game.

    Well what can I say, I need to do some testing on my own then. Just moments ago, I was in Parma and I was shooting from that position in the map: I had Double Damage and I was doing around 1250 dmg per hit to a target without DA nor protection. Sadly, I'd say yes. A year ago or so I would have said it was situational, but in today's meta, anything that does not give you a big advantage is next to useless, to me. Trust me I would love for each augment to be like SCCM. But when we have broken Augments, Drones, Hulls, ODs, you really do need the edge if you want to make a difference in the team. When compared to the rest of the equipment, I even consider Sledgehammer to be subpar. ___ You see, sometimes players are just content to play the game, and to maybe finish in the middle of the scoreboard and call it a day. But for me it is different, I always played to win and I tried my best in every battle. That's why I am so harsh towards some stuff and I say it's terrible. I may try my best, I might be winning a game 2-0 thanks to my positioning and awareness, and then a Hopper Crisis comes on the enemy team. I stop him once, I stop him twice. But eventually he turns the game around. What am I supposed to do? Here, take the win, I surrender. There is nothing I can do, you win because you decided to spend money, while I did not. And for a player like me it's really sad, I keep telling myself that I only continue to play this game because I grew up with it, but there is hardly any reason to stick with it anymore. Why all this rant you may ask? Because when we have such disgusting and over the top stuff that breaks the game, a simple change in parameters in a out-of-meta Turret, to me, is useless.

    Sledgehammer does lose damage, but only after a certain distance. (Honestly I have not tested the max range of damage, but it should cover the lenght of the Sandbox map) SCCM always loses damage, at any range. Okay so, before the conversion, Sledgehammer was incredibly strong, I'd say it was Overpowered, while SCCM was.. okayish (again, for the time, when Augments did not provide direct buffs to the Turrets, they almost always had drawbacks to balance it out) Then Sledgehammer got nerfed (maybe a bit too much) by introducing a way bigger damage drop-off and a huge projectile speed penality. In the end, Sledgehammer remained superior when used at short to mid range, while SCCM remained unchanged. By mid range I was considering 70 metres, I'd in fact say the range of Ricochet. it might be because I always played in small maps, so my perception of distance is influenced by that. Within it, Sledgehammer is superior to any other Thunder Augment. If we go further then that then it starts to become an hindrance more then a benefit. From 100+ metres I'd use Subcaliber Rounds to get faster projectile speed, or honestly, I would just pick Scout Railgun and perform way better. (or Gauss...) Again, I don't feel like SCCM really has a place in today's Tanki.

    What gets on your nerves?

    I use Viking since I was a WO1 10 years ago, but damn I wish it had another Overdrive, I hate Viking's OD. It's the most stupid one in the game and the least team-oriented one. I would love to have Hunter's OD, fast charging and with plenty of uses, or I would like even more Dictator's OD, team-focused and always useful. (urr durr why don't you play hunter or dictator instead of viking then.. duh? Well damn I am sentimental and I can't just abandon my Viking after all these years of service...)

    Losing 20% damage and gaining 20% reload speed doesn't actually improve anything, it just changes the stats of the Turret slightly. This augment was good when Alterations where a thing and were actually meant to change your playstyle. Losing damage also hurts your splash damage behind cover and obstacles.. I would even use Adrenaline over SCCM. Sledgehammer is actually good for mid-range combat, since it boosts your reload by 25% without any drawback. The problems start to arise when you have to shoot at longer distances, sure you can give some lead to your shots, but the damage suffers a lot. Support Nanobots, and I'd say Adrenaline Isida is fantastic for attacking, it gives a big boost to the Turret's high DPS.

    I hope we will see some new augments (and shot effects... hello?) when Thunder HD gets launched. The former poster Turret of the game has been left in the dust for a long time now... it's quite sad. The only good thing about Thunder being so out of meta is that barely anyone still equips the Grizzly module anymore. (but if you use Thunder and start to dominate, everyone will equip protection, and this turret vs 50% is laughable) Also, currently, Thunder is the only Turret with only ONE "good" augment available (Sledgehammer) Small caliber charging machine: simply useless; Subcaliber rounds: a stupid augment, just use Scout Railgun instead. (instant projectile, piercing, more impact force, and probably same if not better reload and dmg); "Sledgehammer" rounds: Improved DPM but horrible damage drop-off, and the projectile speed of a snail.

    Thank you for your opinion mate ;) Yep the OD could have some added effects as well, why not. __ I wonder if we will ever see Hulls with abilities or separate modes, with HTML5 it should be possible.

    Ideas for Hulls and Overdrives!

    Since I have some free time (thanks lockdown) I created this concept for a new Hull (and OD) I tried to make it balanced and well fleshed out. Let me know what you think, but keep in mind this was just something made for fun. (not that the Devs would ever consider it anyway.) Code name: C.R.A.B. (yes, Crab... like the animal) Type: Heavy Hull. Crawling type. (!) Has 6 legs. (3 on each side) It is controlled just like a Hovering Hull, but it is more stable and the enemies can not push it easily. (Mobile friendly controls) Highlight of the Hull: alternate mode: Planted. The Hull plants its legs into the ground and its body lowers down. In this state you can not move your hull (or be moved!), you can only rotate your turret. While Immobile and Planted you are also immune to all status effects. (Considering to limit the Immunity protection for game balance's sake, but it would need real testing) Also, during Planted mode the Hull has a passive ability, a force field which slows down all enemy tanks by 20% within its radius. (20m?) It takes 1 second to enter and exit Planted mode. Overdrive: the Hull projects a large barrier in front of it, with 20k HP. The barrier can protect the tank itself and any ally who hides behind it. The barrier is solid and nor you or your team can shoot through it. the OD lasts 10 seconds or until the barrier is destroyed by the enemies. (You can of course move when the barrier is active, you can use it for attacking or defending, or maybe protecting a teammate with the flag) The OD can not be activated during Planted Mode. The Overdrive focuses on teamplay and on a strategic approach. So, I guess that's all, I hope I didn't forget anything.

    [Poll] All Levels - Same Skins

    I am pretty sure that there is no budget allocated into creating multiple Skins for each Turret and Hull. Basically, the devs have no return in $$$ by doing that, so they have decided to redesign only 1 skin per equipment piece. A real shame, we lost all sense of progression. As I already said in a topic some time ago, there is no point in climbing through the ranks anymore. By the way, I'm sorry if literally each of my posts consists in me complaining.

  17. Nice idea, if you want, I can provide some stuff and easter eggs myself... since I am a Tanki Boomer. For example; Ricochet was initially called Vulcan and was a Machine Gun. Did you ever wonder why rico has such a strange shape? Well now you know why -> Later in development: Another interesting fact: Railgun at first (when it was called Fear Machine, I believe most of you know that) was actually almost twice the size it is now.

    Point is, they have been desperate for years now. I don't know if they have plans to close soon or not. From what I know, Alternativa has no real games to cash in, so Tanki is their main title right now. (Tanki X was going to be the one, but we know how that project went...) __ Regarding the paints you mentioned, I believe you are mistaken. The HD skins have more polygons and better textures, so the old paints are rendered in a different way on them. Every single paint is affected, even Animated ones. Some of them actually look better, like PCB. It's understendable that paints from 10 years ago now look bad and stretched out.

    By looking at the YT comments it looks like no one likes the Status Effect Augments. Also, everyone seems to agree to keep the damage spread as it is now. Also, whenever I go read some comments on old videos or comparisons, everyone misses the old game and the old mechanics. I am curious to see who actually likes the changes you Devs keep implementing in the game. Maybe in Russia things are so much different? Still, player numbers don't lie... I just don't understand how it is possible to NOT find a way to monetize the game without ruining it with each update you release.

    "Railgun shots can only a apply a weak status effect" - Shows a clip where a Hopper gets oneshotted by a Incendiary Rounds Railgun without Double Damage. "Some new Railgun Augments are too weak" - Yes, LCR Railgun with 2 seconds of stun or EMP Railgun disabling supplies for 6 seconds are totally trash. Incendiary Rounds and Cryo Rounds are also completely useless, I am sure. By the way, I can't wait to receive a critical damage shot from a LCR Railgun with Booster Drone.

    Problem is, you need to equip HI to defend yourself. But by doing so, you can't protect yourself from Stun and EMP status effects. So in a way, IB is still a big issue.
  25. Well, I'd argue that if you do not have Heat Immunity yourself, then Vulcan is still the best turret in the game, next to Gauss. I have seen 7000GS IB+HI players shredding 9000+ GS tanks with ease. Probably, once the Devs have milked the playerbase enough, they will disable that combo... So that HI will become useless and players will all be forced to buy Stun and EMP protection.
