Do the Devs even realize that their new "cool" ideas are ruining the game?
2shots2kills replied to EmeraldCat in Archive
Every "cool" idea has ruined the game so far. By the way, hovering hulls are being introduced for mobile players, because driving a tracked hull is too hard, apparently. Probably Tanki is heading towards a mobile playerbase, so we either get used to it, or we leave. By the way, I am already considering taking another long break from the game, too many "cool" ideas for me. -
I hope you realize that you don't need a gaming pc (and an integrated graphics pc is not a gaming rig) to play Tanki. Any half-decent computer is well able to run it.
-
Assault is hilarious right now. And by hilarious, I mean hilariously bad. The battles last 2 minutes with the defenders always winning, because there are far too many tanks, and by getting 1 point for each enemy killed, the cap of 70 points is reached extremely quick. Who has designed this experiments exactly? A Drunk banana?
-
Again, experiments without changing any stat or parameter. Only big maps will mean the following: Loads of long range Turrets, Gauss one-shotting people from 4000 kilometers away, Shaft doing the same, Railgun harassing enemies from afar. Twins and Rico will either need to equip their long range alterations, or they will reach their effective range already at low HP or having already used their repair kit. Fire Freeze -Isida will probably struggle, being useless most of the time and being really strong only when they are at close range. IMO, there is one problem with all of this that is almost unsolvable. When the game was created, maps ranged from tiny to medium to big. And you could choose where to play. Meaning that you would bring a Freeze to Island, a Ricochet to Sandbox and a Thunder to Esplanade. With the MM we normally have, if you play a certain turret you can get screwed when a certain map shows up. But If you create a MM with only ONE map type, the other type of Turrets will always struggle, because they where not designed for every map size.

Nevermind, I see you figured it out.

Maybe because they removed Augments and Paints from the free track? I also buy the pass sometimes, but I don't like nor support decisions like this.
-
True, I didn't even notice that Augments were also removed. That is awful indeed.
-
I'll pass this Challenge since there's nothing I need in it. (I am waiting for EMP or Stun Immunity for Viking and Hornet) Also, you removed paints from the Silver tier... not that I care, but that's a bad move for F2P players.
-
Wait for the next Pass if there is nothing you need in this one. I am waiting for a Viking Augment as well. (emp or stun)

I started with Keyboard and I always played with that until my old pc broke. My new one had a ghosting problem with the keyboard, and due to me being a massive cheapskate, instead of buying a new gaming keyboard, I re-learned the game and adapted to Mouse controls. Man it was hard, I couldn't aim for the life of me, so I practiced first with melee turrets, then with Twins, and finally I was able to return to Thunder and Railgun. In the end, I must say that Mouse controls are way, way superior to Keyboard, I can't even return to play with the old method if I wanted to. You can lock the turret and look around, make precise movements, and an important thing, adjust the camera angle with the mouse wheel, which I find way more comfortable then having to use Pag up and down.

AP Augments are more team-based then 1V1, I think. If you are defending and you pop the AP effect on the attackers, they are done for. Protection modules, Double Armor, Defender drone, all useless... your teammates should be able to finish the targets in no time.

Yes and also 99999 Tankoins, a Pool, a Lamborghini and why not, a nice House on the beach. I approve.

sad times

You got the Deserter status, that only placed you against other Deserters, and you got no bonus streak for playing multiple battles in a row.
-
Yeah Thunder was very good when it had the instant projectile. And with Sledgehammer it was even overpowered. To balance it out, Thunder was given the projectile mechanic it has now (Just like Gauss), but in doing this, it was made too similar to the new Turret... and in most aspects, just a weaker version of it. Absolutely correct. Honestly, if I did not invest so much time on Thunder (I got MK8 and an all the skins for it... been playing this Turret since forever), I would have switched to Gauss as well.
-
Man, Pro battles are awesome, I forgot how "classic" Tanki used to be. no idiotic ODs, no overpowered Drones, no Supplies. (in this battles Augments were enabled tho) I played the whole battle with Railgun Mk7 9/20 paired with Hornet Mk8/Viking Mk8. I switched to Twins the last 5 minutes to try and attack, but sadly I had to leave the game for IRL stuff.
-
I guess you meant Thunder protection. Since the last discounts I am seeing less protections against Thunder which can lead to decent games. But no matter how well I do in battle, whenever I play with this Turret I tell myself "I could be playing Gauss and be way stronger".
-
What is the general consensus on Thunder in the current meta? I am the only one who thinks it's completely outclassed by Gauss in almost every aspect? I mean, why would you buy Thunder instead of Gauss? It's a general question, I am curious to hear what you guys have to say.
-
I like your idea, however, as @DestrotankAI9 said, there is no reason to change Incendiary band itself, as it was perfectly fine before. A simpler solution would indeed be the one you suggested first, (to disable the ignite targets feature if the Vulcan does not overheat.) but I don't know if we will ever see that feature being removed, as it probably makes some $$$...
-
It could get nerfed yes, but if it does, then a lot of other OP augments should get the same treatment. (Augments that were sold directly for real money will probably be immune to all nerfs due to legal stuff. The Devs introduced Tankoins just for this reason, everything that is bought with tankoins can be nerfed/changed with no problems)
-
Imo, at Legend Ranks, both LCR and Scout are really good and equally viable. It all comes down to personal preference and playstyle.
-
I decided to buy Scout for Railgun, and now I understand why everyone plays it. There is no reason to play anything else. Close range? Check. Medium range? Check. Long range? Check. Good damage? Check. Good DPM? Check. Instant Projectile? Check. Can your shot go through any tank and still hit the target? Check. Do you need to have good aim? Not really, because your next shot will be ready before you manage to say "balanced"

What Is Your Opinion About the Current State of Tanki Online?

Umh not really, I usually finish them off after a few seconds, I just like to see them struggle Oh, I do that to the enemy tanks, of course. I should have specified them. -

Eh, always seen them. Sometimes I lock them against a wall to see what happens, and the results can be quite amusing. (Some stop in their tracks to search for the right keys to turn the turret, and others simply refuse to do so) Edit: I do this against the enemies, of course. If I see teammates that don't turn their turret, I just cry in silence.
