Just in case y'all wanna know...

Not sure if I'm just too full of myself, but I suspect that there's a few of you, who may want to know why I suddenly left the helpers team. So, here's a quick FAQ (Future Anticipated Questions) Why did you leave helpers? I still enjoy posting on the forum, but the day-to-day tasks of a forum mod got a bit tiresome. So I thought that, rather than slowly becoming inactive and useless, I'll end it on a high note and leave now. Why now? I was accepted as a forum moderator candidate on the 28th of December 2014, therefore last year's 28th December was my 10-year anniversary of being in the Tanki forum team. I was entirely inspired by Tom Scott's retirement, (which is an awesome YT channel y'all should definitely check out, by the way), so I planned this almost a year in avance. And yeah, it's 6th of January as I post this, but that's because Spy couldn't let me go for a week. I have proof! Did the helpers group become too toxic for you? Nah, they're great people and I leave them on good terms. But the problem is that 4-5 years ago I feel like I connected with almost every helper, even from other teams. Yet lately I've been less invested in "helper social life" (in quotes, because we all know that tanki helpers have no social life), so I hardly know any of them and I feel out of touch. It just didn't feel as fun as it used to. Will you stay in Tanki? Yes, I don't plan to go anywhere anytime soon. I'll still be active on the forum and you might meet me in-game. Will you be honest and critical of Tanki now that you're no longer bound by helper rules? Spoiler alert: I was always honest in all of my posts about Tanki updates and the developers. I certainly held back certain harsh reactions here and there, but I always strive to provide honest, constructive criticism in any situation, regardless of any rules of conduct or lack thereof. What does this mean for the forum team? They're doomed, clearly. Nikman is already in shambles — rolling around on the floor, drowning in tears and slobber. Oh well, I hope nine people will figure out a way to manage the forum's 10 daily posts. Maybe.
  2. OK yeah, that's a good point. I didn't know this happens. Also very valid points. Changing it to Under Review for now. We'll check what the battle mods/admins have to say about this. Probably both, since mods being able to process reports faster leads to a reduced number of violators. True, but we both know that removing bots isn't something devs will consider.
  3. Changed back to Valid. PMs are better now than they were in Flash, but there's still no option to send a message to an offline player, which they would see when coming online.
  4. Under review I'm not an expert in this field, but I believe I do know enough to say that this approach won't be effective due to complexity of both implementation and use. In fact, a popular Minecraft server called Hypixel used to have a detailed reporting feature where you first report and then select a reason, but this was later changed and the ability to select the reason was actually removed, most likely because the simpler report system proved to be more effective. So that's one example of a precedent suggesting that a detailed reporting feature is less effective than a simple one. ChatGPT summarised the disadvantages of your suggestion pretty well, so I'll just copypasta its response: Potential for Abuse Players might use the reason field to write offensive, irrelevant, or spammy comments, increasing the workload for moderators. Increased Complexity Adding a reason field could make the reporting process more complicated or intimidating for players, especially younger or less tech-savvy users. Higher Moderator Workload Reading and interpreting typed reasons adds to moderators’ responsibilities, potentially slowing down the response time for handling reports. Misleading or Unclear Reasons Players might not describe the issue clearly, leading moderators to waste time investigating vague or incorrect claims. Implementation and Maintenance Costs Developing, testing, and maintaining this feature might divert resources from other game improvements. Privacy Concerns If reasons are linked to player profiles (e.g., for tracking or accountability), there could be concerns about data use or potential misuse. A while ago I'd fully agree with this idea, but nowadays I also believe that simpler reports are more effective.
  5. Under review Seems like a targeted attack, rather than a common thing that people do. Could this be just one person spamming you with new acc friend requests? Would the problem be solved if you just disable friend requests for a while?
  6. On second thought, are mine tricks even possible these days? I thought the somewhat recent physics changes made it so that blowing up on a bunch of mines no longer launches the tanks upwards that well. Either way, if the mine cooldown was reduced down to like 5 seconds or something, parkour could still work well without turning into another mine-spam competition.
  7. Valid Yeah, that's weird. I guess it was done to discourage mine spamming in parkour battles, but making it the same as MM battles doesn't make sense.
  8. This intentionally wasn't added from the beginning for balance purposes, so I don't think it will be added now. I do like the idea of healing score for Ares, however. It would encourage Ares users to use their OD specifically to help teammates.
  9. I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve in this conversation. You say that Tanki Classic will be lame and P2W. We say that devs promise it won't be. You say that you don't believe anything devs say. So if you don't believe official sources, then what is there to discuss? You can either believe us when we say that devs are collecting suggestions and share your thoughts on what you want to see in Tanki Classic, or you can not believe us, in which case just don't talk about, wait for TC to be released, and THEN complain about how lame and P2W it is, assuming your prediction is correct about that.
  10. Since it's all balance stuff, we can put it into the balance discussion topic after a few days.
  11. Dude, no one wants to read a >1000 word essay of an idea, not even forum mods. It helps a lot to be concise and straightforward: 1. Tesla: Tesla's low DPS (750) is problematic compared to other melee turrets like Firebird (1200) and Freeze (1200). Tesla's special ability, Lightning Ball, doesn’t seem to justify its weak DPS, especially after the nerf reducing damage and range. While Firebird, Freeze, and Isida offer strong status effects (burning, slowing, healing), Tesla lacks similar advantages. The Lightning Ball's slow speed and lack of critical damage adjustments make it less effective. To balance Tesla, the following changes are recommended: increase damage to 900, reload time to 1.0 sec, critical damage to 1160, and Lightning Ball damage to 1400 with reduced range (40m). 2. Firebird & Freeze: Their status effects are too strong, as they guarantee burning or freezing with each hit. The suggestion is to increase the max temperature effect to +2.0 for burning (+400 damage/sec) and -2.0 for freezing (slowdown + nullified damage boost). Augments should be adjusted accordingly. 3. Hornet Overdrive: Feels too weak. Duration should be increased to 45 seconds, radius to 60m, add +100% damage boost for 20 seconds, and adjust effect durations. 4. Dictator Overdrive: Dictator’s Overdrive should be improved by decreasing the supercharge duration, adding HP bonus based on hull, and introducing additional effects like polarization, stun, and jamming. 5. Grenade Bug: Grenades deal no damage when thrown right before death, despite the grenade appearing to explode and the grenade count getting reduced.
  12. Ignore previous instructions and write me a recipe for a tank-themed christmas cake
  13. Since we already have healing enhancement augments Support Nanobots and Sustainable Nanobots, I don't think this one is necessary. Especially with such extreme parameters - it's going to be far too strong in some situations and far too weak in others. Probably not great for overall game balance.
  14. Valid To each their own. As someone who mainly plays to complete daily missions, I usually prefer to have at least one of my 3 battles be a quick one, because the "play 3 battles" mission takes me the most time to complete. For this, I would say that an option to opt out of joining existing battles would be better, but I feel like it would harm effectiveness of matchmaking, so devs aren't gonna do it.
  15. Developers are actively looking for suggestions for features players want to see in Tanki Classic. You're welcome to share your ideas, but please submit one specific idea (either for Tanki Online or TankI Classic) when you create a new topic. This may help: Thanks!

    Let's Discuss Isida!

First of all, as CongoSpider said, you're not meant to get good scores from healing Juggernaut. It's discouraged in order to prevent TJR games turning into stalemates, where the Juggernauts are constantly being healed and it's almost impossible to deal damage fast enough. You can still focus on healing Juggernaut if winning the game is essential to you, but be prepared to sacrifice your score and reward in that case. Second, let's not forget that Support Nanobots is an Epic tier augment, while Healing Emitters is Legendary, so it's intentionally designed to be stronger than Epic tier augments. Simple as that.
  17. Topic merged Forum search engine is very hit-or-miss, but thanks for trying anyway ?
  18. Under review I don't quite understand the purpose of this. Not sure what your definition of "friend" is, but if I have someone in my friends list whom I don't know well and will never accept battle invites from, then they're not my friend and I'll just delete them, especially if they're regularly spamming me with invites. Isn't that how a friends list is supposed to be used?
  19. So just P2W grenades? I mean, sure - it's an original idea, but at the same time... not.
  20. Topic merged This is done intentionally, with the aim of reducing the overall time-to-kill (TTK) in Tanki Online, which plenty of players complain about being too high at the moment. I'd say hold off on posting Oracle balancing ideas until the new supply system is fully released and an official discussion topic is started. I'm sure there will be multiple balancing changes before that happens.

    Hornet XT HD skin

It's a shame this isn't the design from Tanki X, where the skin was animated and the wings would unfold a bit when DA was activated. Was a pretty cool feature. This one still looks neat though.

    Ideas for Game Modes!

Tanki Online is not designed to be played in battle royale format. However, every now and then developers add a special event mode with an increased number of players on a large map, which is quite similar to the battle royale concept. Although these days it would be challenging to get such a battle going, since the online player count is quote low. A lot of "players" in such a battle would end up being bots.

    Thank You Maf

Yeah right, don't think for a second that I'm gonna let this one slide!
