    eSports Tanki Fund

Man I really wanna get this. It will bring back so many great memories of the good old 2011 days with the old graphics, when my friends and I would equip Tesla and go terrorise random battles, and we'd steal all the battle funds. Truly the best time of Tanki... Anyone got old screenshots of Tesla back in the day? I can't find any of mine for some reason.
  2. I'm interested to know this too, but he didn't elaborate.
  3. Hate it. Last week I had a moment when a teammate died in front of me on a narrow ramp on Kungur, and I was stuck there helplessly for the full 7 seconds, just watching the enemy players casually stroll away with our flag. I had overdrive ready and couldn't do anything abut it. That lost us the game. It's fine in modes like TJR, CP, SGE and TDM, but extremely frustrating in capture modes, where being able to quickly and efficiently navigate around the map is essential. The dead hulls just add unnecessary uncertainty to gameplay. The only good thing about them is that I can shoot them with Thunder to damage otherwise unreachable enemies hiding behind or nearby. I asked Opex Rah about this and he said that analytics show that most players like the feature. Oh well...

    Trick-or-Treat Mini Game Eat Progress

Hello! In the minigame, there are a few of these special "Islands of Fortune". Upon landing on them, you could either move forward, or get thrown back 5 tiles. Looks like you landed on one of those tiles and didn't notice when you got moved back.
  6. This is a reminder to everyone here that bans should not be discussed in public. They're off-topic here either way. I realise that the moderation isn't perfect and mistakes happen, but if you believe you were banned unfairly, please use forum PM to contact chat administrators @DarkOperative or @rommeltanki You can also discuss moderators/admins/bans amongst yourselves in PM, if you really want to. Just... don't do it here. Thanks.
  7. Wait, so what makes you sure that it's the Vulcan shooting that causes you to disconnect?
  8. That's a very poor approach to problem solving. In programming it's called a "crutch" — adding a temporary solution to help mitigate the consequences of a problem, instead of fixing the root of the problem itself. The missions screen isn't supposed to cause infinite loading when you click it right after you leave a battle. So the solution is to fix the bug that's causing it, instead of adding a 5-second lock on the button.
  9. Yes yes, that's exactly what it is
  10. For aesthetic reasons you can hide your own drone via settings. It will still be visible to others though, if they have the setting to show drones enabled.
  11. ^ This. Topics like this never head in a good direction — not ten years ago, not today. Feel free to discuss issues with chat moderation in PM with chat administrators: @rommeltanki or @DarkOperative Closed
  12. I don't know this exact issue, but I remember back in like 2018 there was an update that changed mechanics of Vulcan, and it created this bizarre bug where if the person you were shooting suddenly left the battle, every single player in the battle would crash, except for the Vulcan shooter. So you could get a friend into the enemy team, wait for a gold box to drop, and then shoot him and have him leave. Everyone else would crash and you'd have the battle (and the gold box) to yourself. Obviously that's bug abuse and could land you in a lengthy block, but it was funny and so weird. Even weirder that people actually discovered it and quickly found out how to replicate it.
  13. Moderators decide, mostly by applying common sense, which you can do too. I recommend starting with the definitions: Constructive criticism: Focus on providing constructive feedback, supported by specific examples, to help you improve in some area. Constructive criticism should be offered in a friendly manner with good intentions. Unconstructive criticism: Not serving to promote improvement or advancement. Unconstructive advice doesn't help you figure out what to do, and unconstructive criticism is generically critical, without giving you any ideas for how to make it better. You cannot. Calling someone a "noob" is an insult. Except if it's a joke, but I'd be careful with insulting jokingly as well, because it often comes off the wrong way and the person you're addressing gets offended anyway.
  14. Yes, insults are against the rules, and a message doesn't have to contain profanity to be an insult. Yes, unconstructive criticism is banable. I think there must be a misunderstanding here. Chat mods never banned players for asking innocent questions, unless you go out of your way to spam the question everywhere. But in that case you get banned for spam, not for asking questions. The key word is "unconstructive criticism", which is different from "negative criticism". Constructive criticism is welcome and we have official communication channels where you can express it.

In your opinion, how useful is the mini-map radar, and the Hornet overdrive (wallhack)?

So I've been thinking about this for a while, especially now that I play with Vacuum Thunder a lot. How many players understand and actively use the in-game abilities to see enemies, who are otherwise obscured? I'm talking about the minimap radar that everyone has to the right of their supply bar, and Hornet's overdrive ability, which not too long ago got buffed to an impressive 90-second duration. Seeing as both of those abilities are readily available at all times (one is always there, and the other can potentially be used non-stop), it makes me think that developers either don't see them as particularly useful, or they think that most players won't bother to take advantage of them. To me personally, Hornet's ability is one of the most poweful in the game. A Hornet (or two) camping at base and providing non-stop wallhack to the whole team gives that team a massive advantage over the enemy, such as being able to avoid encounters when escaping with the flag, seeing a potential ambush, and seeing enemies before you turn the corner. The minimap is less useful, especially since it doesn't show context of the surrounding map. But still, it can give you valuable information regarding teammates and enemies behind your back, as well as enemies hiding behind obstacles nearby. Fun fact: I've actually been accused of hacking at least twice, when people noticed that I somehow always know where they are despite them hiding behind a building. What's your own take on this?
  16. Depends on how much health the Mammoth has, and the direction it's travelling relative to the Ares ball. If the Ares ball can get enough ticks of damage on the Mammoth to kill it before hitting its AT-field, Ares ball wins. Otherwise, Mammoth wins. I imagine the Mammoth would have to be on between 1000-2000 hp to die to the ball before destroying it.
  17. In my experience, the dictator user either just keeps the supercharge effect for himself (i.e. uses it when it's convenient for him, disregarding teammates), or uses it on a bunch of teammates when the supercharge effect doesn't even help much due to lack of enemies. I think Dictator was far more useful when it gave teammates OD charge. I understand that there were balance issues with that mechanic, but before I would actually always let a Dictator take the OD box to share its effects, and now I actually get annoyed when a Dictator player takes every OD box because he thinks he's more useful them.
  18. Fortunately, Vacuum augment has no balance issues whatsoever /s

    Ideas for Game Modes!

So we've had this idea multiple times before, and I always ask this one question: Imagine you join a battle like that, and you're immediately killed by some Shaft as soon as you spawn. What do you do? Spectate for the next 5 minutes while a couple campers hide on opposite sides of the map and drag out the battle? Without drastically changing existing gameplay mechanics, it would be not as fun as you imagine.
  21. Valid Is parkour even possible at all these days? I feel like there's still a lot of weird behaviour of tanks flying through the air (like Hopper OD, or just jumping off a big bridge) even in the PC version, so I don't know if it's really improved at all.
  22. There are plans to improve the clan system, but they have been postponed in favour of more urgent updates.
