    Vulcan Overheating

The problem is that back then, Vulcan Incendiary Band was the only augment that gave a turret, besides Firebird, ability to ignite other tanks. The fact that Vulcan could do it from a distance, and that you initially needed two protections to protect against it (fire and vulcan), plus the fact that it could fire infinitely with heat immunity equipped and still ignite tanks, made it an insanely overpowered augment. A lot has happened since then, most notably the fact that multiple other turrets have incendiary augments now, and none of them heavily penalise the user for igniting enemy tanks. So from that perspective I agree that incendiary band should be changed to be in line with other incendiary augments, especially when it gets to the point that Vulcan starts getting other status augments.

    Ideas for Game Modes!

Gameplay feels too similar to existing modes, to be honest. Anyway, devs currently don't plan to add any more game modes besides, possibly, an "Escort" mode.
  3. Valid So like the non-MM Sanbox, but remastered? Considering that the map itself already exists, I don't see why not.
  4. Valid I think devs intentionally made Hornet OD sound to be audible across a large distance, but I don't think it's enough. I thought about this idea a few times recently.
  5. We already have an idea for different mine types. I don't think it makes sense to attach them to specific hulls, since there's no logical link between a hull and an item it deploys. More importantly, separating mine variants into a separate feature would allow developers to monetise it.

    Rally Tankcar

Well, then I'll just repeat what others have already told you — you're free to ignore an event and not participate if you don't think it's worth the effort. But my point was that all those extra events are literally just additional free rewards on top of what you get from typical missions. Sure, you can't get the brand new skins and augments, but having a few extra tankoins and crystals is far better than... well... not having them.

    Rally Tankcar

Not really. Just because you can't get all the top-tier rewards an event doesn't make it for buyers only. Take the island hopping events for example (like the space, halloween and winter themed ones) — usually as a free player you get enough of the special currency to reach two or three checkpoints. Sure, there's no chance in hell that you're reaching the 4th and 5th checkpoints that give you Crisis/Armadillo, new augments and crazy new skins (Demonic, Frost, Retro...), but don't discount the fact that you're still getting a whole bunch of free goodies, like 30 nuclear supplies, ≈500 tankoins, tens of thousands of crystals, and maybe even some good augments and decent skins like Wasp Smoky LC. This has been a pattern for most of the events in recent years. Pretty much anyone can participate for free, but there's an option to pay extra if you want the highest tier rewards. This makes sense. As for this particular event, I'd say that participating in it clearly isn't a great investment for F2P.

    Rally Tankcar

Yup — you're right. I spent the past hour discussing it with various people because the event page doesn't make this so clear. Or, rather, the page makes it quite clear, but I found it hard to believe that the event would involve the possibility of buying an entry pass for 700tk and walking away with nothing other than the 6 paints. It also means that if at any stage you grinded 50-200 stars and your team gets eliminated, you have to switch teams in order to avoid that effort going to waste. Basically, if you're a big buyer with tankoins to spend, the best approach is to buy the bundle, get 200 stars every day, and then switch teams (for 9000tk) at the latest moment. You can take the risk and switch earlier, but that means there will be a chance that you'll still lose and have to pay more to claim the missing prizes. Given the huge star amounts required to get rewards, for a F2P player I'd definitely skip this one. I actually have no idea what you're talking about. How did people lose access to ~2600 tankoins?

    Rally Tankcar

A F2P player who's smart about their spending thinks carefully about where to spend the tankoins, as opposed to wasting them away at the first opportunity. The token of apology was only a few months ago, so I'd expect smart F2P players to still have around 2000tk lying around. Half of my post was actually critical of this event. Then there would be no point spending money, and the game wouldn't be able to generate revenue. That's fine, I respect your opinion.

    Rally Tankcar

So you're just gonna casually forget that time devs gave away thousands of tankoins, allowing everyone to get tons of stuff (including Crisis and Armadillo) for free from the Tanki Fund? A few months ago I'd probably agree with you, but 700tk isn't that bad of a price for this. That being said, I think that the chance aspect of it (you don't know whether you'll end up on the winning team) makes this event less favourable for free players compared to something like a good battle pass. But that's just the game's economic model — there's different events and different bundles aimed at different purchase ability of players. Not everything will be made for F2P. Honestly, a much bigger issue for F2P is not even the initial participation price, but the amount of grinding required to get the prizes. Even 50 stars is quite a lot — with an average of 2 per battle, that's around 3 hours per day (not including early finished battles), so 12 hours per day to get the 200 stars. The chance is 83%. There's a 1 in 6 chance that you end up on the team that will end up winning. Plus, there's no total loss scenario, since you get some rewards either way, assuming you earn the stars required.
  11. I played with turbo twins a few times recently, and it still feels very powerful. I think the nerf is okay.
  12. It could. There's a huge number of options for how it could work and interact with other gameplay elements. The difficulty is in deciding which option would make it an interesting and balanced addition to the game. That's the job of a game designer.
  13. I have no idea how this oil thing is meant to work. It could just slow tanks down, cause them to spin, or maybe mess up the controls for a bit so that driving straight becomes difficult. Anyway, an oil spill seems a bit too low-tech. Something like a "Disruptor Mine" fits better thematically, implying that it messes with the tank's internal systems.
  14. Easy — it's a "quantum" oil stain that affects tanks even if they hover over it Subscribe to Maf for more genius explanations of illogical game mechanics.
  15. Oh, my PM capacity went down from 50k back to 1k messages, and I already have around 1300, so can't accept any more. Thanks for telling — I just cleaned out my inbox

    Remove rankup rewards completely

I guess in case of Tanki they're technically made of electrons. At least to the best of my knowledge.

    Valentine's Day 2023

Huh, nice page. Have I been living under a rock, or is this the first time it's done like that?
  18. Probably not. If you think about the number of different device/OS/ISP/location combinations players can have, there's an infinite number of nuances that can happen, causing the issues you described. There's no single solution to it all — the best thing devs can do is continually polish and improve their server architecture to allow it to deal with a wider range of errors.
  19. You can notice a pattern in the naming convention: Melee range = small mammals Short range = medium/large predators Medium range = aquatic animals (except grizzly) Long range = large/predatory birds Armadillo and spider are exceptions because they're in a unique category. But as for why modules are named after animals instead of the protections they offer — that I do not know, and I disagree with the naming scheme. The fact that you need to learn the minimalistic turret icons or click on each module to find out what it protects against is really frustrating, especially with the latest change. I'm pretty sure the animal names are a remnant of the old system when there were over a hundred protection modules, each offering a different combination of 2-4 protections. There would have been no way to name each module accurately, so they were divided into vague categories and given arbitrary animal names. I think this naming scheme should have been removed with the module separation update. They should be simply be renamed to something like "Smoky Protection Module", as that would be clear and straightforward.
  20. Hello. We do not accept reports of gameplay violations on this forum. If you'd like to report a user, you can record a video and submit it on the Russian forum. Closed.
  21. To be fair, public parkour format battles have always been exactly that.
  22. Finally capitalised the Z in "Industrial zone"? That sugestion has been pending since 2015.

    Player Feedback

This isn't a matter of opinion, because the correct answer is "yes". Obvious example: Developers added automatic supply activation to PC → players complained that using Crisis drone became inconvenient → developers collected the feedback → automatic activation was removed for Crisis. Since that is one example of devs directly responding to player feedback, it means they DO "act on feedback from players that make a difference". A more interesting opinion-based question is how often or what percentage of player requests do you think end up being implemented in the game. I can tell you that this percentage will be very low, for a multitude of reasons.
