You can find some explanation about that here and here. In Russian some letters may look identical to the Latin (i.e. English) alphabet, but they mean a completely different letter. So "X" is for "Хорнет", which means "Hornet" and is pronounced exactly the same because it's not even a Russian word for "Hornet" - just a literal transcription of the English word using Russian letters. Same goes for the B in BP - it stands for "Васп", which means "Wasp" and is pronounced the same, even though the actual Russian word for "wasp" is "Oса" (osa, which is ironically the name of an existing tanki map). The P stands for "Рельса" (relsa), which means Railgun. So in fact, even though literally every English player pronounces "XP/BP" as "ekspee-beepee" (heck, even I do!), all Russians pronounce the format name as "HR/VR". By that logic the new format will be pronounced as DR in Russian and there is no reason for it to be called "AP".
-
Sounds like fun, although I really doubt that it will catch on. Just like BP format, DR is probably gonna be in great minority compared to XP and XP/BP, with maybe 1 or 2 DR battles for every 50 XP. Of course RU1 will be full of it on the day of the release, but that will be only the initial craze. Developers would need to do some serious promotions to popularise such an old format. Maybe something like giving everyone a free trial on the first day, even if players don't have a PRO pass, dictator and railgun. That letter is "Д", which is the Cyrillic "D". And indeed, Dictator in pronounced pretty much the same in Russian. Д is not an A, so don't confuse the two :D

y are game turents so expisiw we all need more money and more gold boxes
Maf replied to c3po_the_best in Archive
As said above, the current prices in the game have been balanced carefully to allow the average player to save up enough crystals to upgrade one turret, one hull and a module comfortably. Reducing the prices will result in less players wanting to buy crystals with real money, therefore the project will lose revenue and will risk economic failure. We do not accept ideas for reducing items' prices or adding more discounts. Closed. -
Actually, if you want, I can remove the archive record and put this one in the main section. Because the only reason it was moved to archive is because there was no second screenshot to prove the battle duration.

Too specific. We already have separate ones, which were given to you.

Topic merged Won't happen. This adds ability to transfer crystals between accounts. For example you have a Major acc and a generalissimo acc. You earn thousands of crystals on Generalissimo (which is easier because you have better equipment and funds are higher), you buy as many gold box supplies as you can, go into a private battle with both of your accounts, drop all the gold boxes from the Generalissimo and collect them with Major. Result: OP alternate account with a ton of crystals. Don't suggest to add anything else like extra rules or limitations to prevent this kind of transfer - people will always find ways to abuse such a system.

If you get a TO staff job, would you put it on your resume to college?
Maf replied to NewbieCake in Archive
I'm looking for a job IRL now and my Tanki "career" takes up about half of the experience and skills sections. I know it may seem like fun and games and just a useless hobby that's nothing but a waste of time in the eyes of most parents, but at the end of the day the list of useful life skills you end up with after working as a helper is a lot longer than you might expect: Communication Working in a team Patience Customer service Explaining/describing Maintaining order Decision making, logical thinking And many more obscure skills which you unknowingly gain and use in this job. So if the skills you gain while working as TO staff can apply to what you plan to do in your real job, mentioning this in your CV is very useful, especially if you just got out of school/university and have no other previous experience/workplace to refer to.- 71 replies

Secret places (like mazes and rooms) are added to various maps during The GAME events. This is an event usually held during New Year holidays and on Tanki's birthday and the general idea is that players watch a daily video from developers where they are given a small clue and have to understand that clue to find more clues, which may involve researching on different websites and going into game maps to look for clues on walls and in secret places. If those places were to be left there, people would use them to sabotage the game (e.g. take the flag and hide), whereas it's pointless adding this as a separate map to Parkour mode as the secret places rarely have much parkour potential. Mostly they are just holes people need to jump down to get to. In the future if you want to ask a question about the game, please refrain from creating new topics and use the official Q&A topic or the Q&A site. Closed.

Correct. During that time the "Play" and "Download" buttons disappear and servers can't be accessed with a direct link either. As said above, this happens daily at 2 AM UTC and lasts about 5 minutes Closed.

I don't blame you. The forum search feature is a pain in the neck to use :D

Topic merged After the update Hornet's advantage will be that it's a lot more stable and easier to control. Wasp's advantage is speed, while Hornet's is maneuverability. And the armour is the same.

Topic merged The problem is that these videos would take a lot of effort to make in order to be good enough quality to be featured on the Wiki. The editors simply don't have the time and/or skills required to do this, but if someone (even you, for example) actually decided to create such a series of guides, I'm sure they could be incorporated into the Wiki.
