    Paint Separation Update

No. Premium was never meant to have protection, so the 15% will be removed from it forever. It will be just a normal paint that you can combine with the normal modules. Other special paints will love their protections too, but devs say that special "Universal modules" might be added for them later. Not for Premium though.

Well, at least one person here is happy about this part of the update :D

    Paint Separation Update

    1. You can still buy them now. If you really want one of the existing 4-protection sets, you still have a few hours left before they disappear from the shop :) 2. You will get those exact MUs in a separate Legacy module. If the paint is fully MUd, you'll get a module with 50/23/50 % protections from the same turrets. It will not be upgradable to 50/50/50. 3. I don't know how this update will affect kits, but that's how they always worked - if you want something from the kit you have to pay the full price for it, even if you already have some of the items. It doesn't. Premium paint was never meant to have protections, so tomorrow the 15% will be gone from that paint forever. Again, I'm not sure how this will affect kits, so let's wait and see.

    Paint Separation Update

New modules available in the shop from tomorrow will have a maximum of 3 protections. You can have as many as possible. So basically modules from all current paints with protections (if you buy them all before the update) + new modules which will be added tomorrow. There will probably be over 100 in total. Test server was open yesterday. Just wait until the update gets released.

    Paint Separation Update

You don't combine a module with a paint at all. It's just like switching your turret and hull - if you want to change your hull you don't have to "remove" the hull from a turret and "add" another hull to the turret. You just choose whatever hull you want to use next and press "equip", so the hull will be changed while the rest of the items will stay the same. Exactly the same with modules. You will have a Hull, Turret, Paint and Module and if you want to change the paint you select another paint and click "equip", while the module, hull and turret stay the same. If you want to change the module you select another one and equip it, so it replaces the previous module and the paint, turret and hull stays the same. Trust me - it will be a lot easier to use than you think.

    Paint Separation Update

You can combine any module with any paint as many times as you like. They will be completely independent from one another.

I'm pretty sure that the people making this update are not also responsible for improving lags. So it's not like these guys should have been sitting and doing nothing until the others "fix lags".

    Paint Separation Update

Why do XTs exist and why do people buy them? Obviously too look cool and stand out and show how much money they have. And if you don't care how your tank looks, you don't need to buy any paints at all. Just use whatever paints you have and spend all your crystals on buying and upgrading modules. Besides, you said "buy the cheapest paints and fill them with modules". There is no such thing as "fill a paint with a module". You can combine any paint with any module and switch them around as much as you like. You can have just one paint and 30 modules and you will be able to use many of those 30 modules as you want with the same paint.

Who said you need to buy Zeus? If you want the Fire/Freeze/Smoky protections - just buy the module. If you want to look fancy in Zeus paint and you have crystals to waste - buy the paint. Nobody is forcing you to buy both.

    Paint Separation Update

Premium paint was initially added as a way for Premium players to show off how cool they are. "Look at me, I'm supporting this game and I can afford to buy premium, so here's my unique paint that makes me stand out". The only reason it had protections is so that it could be usable in normal battles, because a paint with no protections is basically useless (XP/BP doesn't count). After this update paints without protections won't be a problem, therefore Premium paint no longer needs its protection.

    Paint Separation Update

If a paint you already have in your garage has 4 protections - it will turn into a 4-protection module tomorrow. You will not be able to buy a 4-protection module separately tomorrow, or add a fourth slot to any of the existing protections.

    Paint Separation Update

That's something I don't quite understand either. Apparently the level of protection will be the same for all turrets in every module, so all new modules might start at, let's say 15% from all turrets, and after 35 MU steps you will be able to upgrade it to 50% from all three turrets. At least that's what I got. The question now is, what happens when a paint like Prodigy has very different protections - do all 4 become the same as the highest protection (50% from rail), or do they somehow get reduced to a more average level. That much I do't know, so I don't want to make any guesses which might turn out to be wrong tomorrow.

    Paint Separation Update

Read this again - the decision to remove protections from special paints is not final - it's possible that the appropriate modules will be added back later (not for Premium paint, though).

    Paint Separation Update

Either I don't understand you or you got it all wrong. Paints are completely untied from their protections. You will be able to combine any existing set of protections you have now with any paint you have now. And if you want more paints or more sets, you will need to buy them. You can't just create new modules out of thin air - you can only buy ones available at the shop. Paints which already don't have any protection (like Green) will stay as they are. You will not get a module from them. All paints will have zero protection whether you already bought them or will buy them after tomorrow. You don't "add protections" to them, you just combine any paint with any module and using a paint together with a certain module does NOT attach that paint to the module forever. It actually does affect you. In a very positive way. You will ow be able to use absolutely any paint with protection on it, so for example if now you want to use Needle on Hornet M3 and can't do it because of Rail protection, after the update you will be able to wear it.

    Paint Separation Update

What are you talking about? The module you'll get from Lumberjack paint tomorrow will have the exact same protections as you have on the paint now.
  16. Maf

    Paint Separation Update

Right now it's only worth buying paints with 4 protections, because that's the only way you'll be able to get a Legacy module (they won't be possible to buy tomorrow). But there is no reason to think that modules will be more expensive than paints, so if I were you I would save the crystals and wait until modules go on sale during a special event like Tanker's Day or Christmas. Did you completely ignore every single reply I said about this above?! I repeat: it's likely that developers will add something else instead of protections to reward players for their hard work, but for now the special paints will have no protection just so they can fit in with the rest of them. A "universal module" with protection from all weapons will not be added.
  17. Maf

    Paint Separation Update

Why would I be kidding? The protection values of the modules don't change, so why would they become more expensive? The protections will be removed.
  18. Maf

    Paint Separation Update

That was the initial idea. After "Tanki 2.0" was scrapped, developers decided to just implement all new features into Tanki Online, instead of making a whole new game for them. Since TO is their flagship project right now, they want to keep working on it as much as possible and adding new features as long as Flash supports them. But everything that's not compatible with Flash will be added to Tanki X.
  19. Maf

    Paint Separation Update

Well there you go. If you don't want the protection you can just equip Lumberjack on it's own and use that, without the module. Protections from special paints will be removed and possibly compensated with another unique bonus. We'll see.
  20. Maf

    Paint Separation Update

If that is so, then why do you use Lumberjack? Will be just a paint for the time being.
  21. Maf

    Paint Separation Update

Test server values almost always change when the actual update gets released.
  22. Maf

    Paint Separation Update

You will never "need" to get a paint, because paints will be purely for decoration and aren't essential for gameplay. And I really doubt that the module upgrades will cost more than paint MUs now.
  23. Maf

    Paint Separation Update

Cedric said not to speculate much about this, but apparently devs might add something special to the prize paints later to make them more than just fancy rare textures.
  24. Maf

    Paint Separation Update

How? Nothing is being taken away from you.

    Paint Separation Update

We don't know anything about the prices yet, but yes - if the paint is expensive they you should only buy it if you have crystals to waste, If you prioritise on protection, then buy a good module instead. Again, we have no information about what the price range will be and whether kits will contain modules or paints without protections. Let's wait and see. For now you will still have the special Gladiator paint texture, which you can combine with more useful protections by using different modules. We'll see. In my opinion this is a very useful update which solves many of the current problems with paints. Those minor inconveniences are bearable and definitely not enough to force a massive migration of leaving players :) Besides, we constantly got complaints from people saying that paints with protections from all turrets are OP and unfair, so this update will satisfy that crowd. Now we get people complaining about protections being removed, so, like Hazel said - it's a constant headache for developers because they can never satisfy everyone when they change something.
