    You have to look at the long term effect of this change. Right now it's obviously a bad thing - we have fewer skins and less cosmetic variety. But reducing the number of skins by 3/4 allows developers to upgrade all remaining skins to an improved version, which we can then get for free. That's definitely something to look forward to.
  3. The cone of pellet spread is not random. But the spot in that cone, where each individual pellet hits, is. Although it doesn't make any real difference in actual battles, unlike Smoky's crit, which often makes the difference between life and death.

  5. Random Number Generator. It's any system that has unpredictable outcome based on generating a random number. For Hammer it's the pattern of pellet spread (which is quite regular tbh), for Smoky it's whether or not a crit happens, for most other turrets it's the exact amount of damage dealt. RNGesus implies that you have to pray to get a good outcome ?
  6. I would definitely switch Twins, Smoky and Hammer. The critical shot is the true RNGesus turret mechanic, while Twins is famously made for players who love to put a brick on their spacebar - It's literally one of the achievements for Twins.
  7. I gotta tell you honestly - the I&S section doesn't play a particularly major role in the decision-making process of this game (or any game at a similar stage of development). And this is coming from the guy who's been in charge of the section for 5 years. Don't get me wrong, player feedback is very important and devs do take it into account, but suggestions posted in I&S are usually either unfitting (for reasons you pointed out), already suggested before, or already exist in the devs' backlog of planned features, awaiting their turn. Myself and the forum mods still do our best to select the best ideas and make sure they are forwarded to developers in a neat and organised report on a weekly basis, but to me the I&S section is mostly about discussing potential changes and improvements with other players. Now, if you want to know where feedback really counts, look no further than the news section. Every single post in every topic there is checked, and relevant feedback is taken into account. So even though other factors in the project (budget, priority, complexity) do not allow developers to do things exactly as players demand, the feedback is very important and does improve the quality of future updates, even if it may not seem that way. So feedback about recent updates and suggestions on how to improve it is what's really important to share, but I'm still looking forward to seeing your ideas in I&S ?
  8. I mean... it's exactly what it is - early access. If you desperately need to be one of the first people to play with this hull and you got the money to spare for it - buy it. Otherwise wait for it to become more easily accessible.

    We have a turret that's allegedly made by a backyard scientist attaching a leaf blower to a refrigerator. I don't think hopping tanks are particularly far-fetched ?

  12. Ping depends on a number of factors, such as your location and ISP.I personally didn't notice any significant increase in ping, and there haven't been any reports about it lately. It most likely is somehow on your end.

  14. Did you read past the first sentence of my post? At Legend ranks the game is most definitely fun. At least for me, but I'm sure other legends will agree. I'm Legend 32 and I have a fully upgraded garage. I can pick the right equipment for any map and any set of enemies, meaning that my performance depends on my skill, which I find interesting. I play battles for fun, because I like this game and its gameplay. That being said, if you're in a situation where you're a non-legend rank and are struggling to get enough crystals for upgrades before you rank up, all while having to fight against much higher ranks and/or players who purchased every available item, then you won't be having fun. This is especially applicable now, when the 4x experience and 2x funds fiasco effectively slashed rewards for lower ranks by 50%. I don't know what it's like to play on low ranks and whether smart garage development strategy still allows free players to stay competitive, but all I know is that at my rank I'm just enjoying the permanent double funds and a free 40k bonus every few days from getting new ranks.
  15. Yes. Every valid issue and bug reported on the forum gets forwarded to devs on a weekly basis.
  16. The decision to stop supporting Flash was made by Adobe - the company that developed Flash in the first place. All browsers followed through by blocking Flash elements in websites, which includes games like Tanki. It was not the developers' decision to make the change, and continuing to maintain the Flash version is extremely unprofitable if not completely impossible. No amount of protesting or petitions will change this. I'm afraid the only choices are to adapt or move on.
  17. The issue is well-known, and we reported it to devs multiple times. It's a mystery why it's taking so long to fix though. For the time being I would recommend that you buy/equip the rapid fire augment for Shaft and use it as a close range arcade turret insead of sniping. Can be very effective, especially since few people use shaft protection.

    Glitching or cheating?

    Most of these issues are caused by lag. The shaft laser one definitely. Same thing happens with all turrets, but it's most visible with ones that have a "trace", like shaft, railgun, striker, rico. As for repair kit and fire damage - just make sure you activate it in advance and don't wait till the last moment. The damage thing is a bit strange, but my guess is that the player you were shooting was using a drone, which made their armour more effective, significantly reducing incoming damage. I know you said there was no visible drone, but who knows... How often does this happen?

    Don't forget that the "experiment" is fully beneficial for Legends. So that leaves a significant proportion of players with plenty of crystals and no need to buy. As for the rest of the population, I suppose this experiment was a subtle (or not so subtle) way to reduce income in order to compensate for all the other benefits everyone has been receiving. But to be honest, all these economic decisions are so confusing that I don't know what to think of it anymore.

    Seems like a pointless topic. In any business that sells absolutely anything, it's obvious that customers will ALWAYS demand reduction in prices. For that reason the prices are set based on how the business is currently performing and what prognosis there is for future sales, rather than asking the target audience if they're happy with the current prices. Prices will only go down if people stop buying the product.

    The "heaviness" of Ares is reflected by its low speed and heavy-tier amount of hit points (4000 at mk8). As for pushing, Hazel Rah explicitly stated that being easily pushed by normal tanks is an intentional disadvantage of all hover hulls, in order to counter their superior stability. Yes. Devs spoke of a light tier hover hull multiple times, so it's safe to assume it will be implemented in the near future.

    I assume most players bought themselves a low grade and tried it in battles in the first days after its release, but are now waiting for a 50% sale to upgrade it fully before using it in battles. But also it's definitely different, so perhaps not as many players will prefer it over other hulls. I personally love it, despite only using light hulls for the past 3-4 years. Can't wait for the light hover hull to be made.

    What is new? What's coming?

    This is true, but there are also significant disadvantages with having 4 free skins per item. First of all, it means that any new item added to the game will have to get 4 skins completely done before release. This was doable previously, but I think from now on any new item will only have the extra detailed, 3D "ultra" skins, just like Ares. Such skins look cool, but they also require 20x more time to create due to the extra modelling, texturing and animating required. Spending all that time on high quality skins which will be given for free anyway is a waste of resources. The second reason is that developers plan to eventually convert ALL skins to the "ultra" style. I don't know whether that's still planned, but if it is, reducing the amount of skins that need converting would be a wise decision.
