There is one annoying aspect, though. The battle status reports (destroyed, joined, changed equipment) are in the window, and it sometimes appears that I have a tank to my right, which I would see by his screen name. :huh: I am so used to that being displayed outside the battle window. -

No shizzle -- I tried it and it was totally uncontrollable -- whoever designed those mouse controls needs a refresher course. -

These are the same issues I have: - can't use the full screen because performance degrades (set to about 1100 x 600) - screen goes black - re-enter button does not work (closes client) But it does not have the ping spikes (there's a clue if you ever get serious about fixing that) ...so unless an error occurs, it is superior to the standard mode. -
SURELY YOU MUST HAVE SOME IDEA WHAT IS CAUSING THE PING SPIKES BY NOW I reported this about 2 weeks ago -- suspiciously it began when the "enemy status" update was made...as useless and counterproductive as 80% of the "improvements" are. (HA HA.) I'm playing and every 15 to 30 seconds, I lose contact with my tank because the PING jumps to 200, 400, 600 and just as quickly drops back to normal. Can't aim, shoot, steer consistently. Nothing new on my end, and some servers/battles seem free of it, and then three hours later it happens on ALL of the servers (EN and RU alike). It is getting on my last nerve. When playing becomes an aggravating chore for your players, it is time to wrap up the site and admit you screwed it up so badly that you can't even fix it.

Here it is 13 months later and not only is this not fixed, there is *another* glitch (turret spin) that has been around almost as long. I think this speaks volumes about the inability / unwillingness to address these bugs....which came from UPDATES in the first place!

Well, whatever is happening now has made my battles totally unplayable. Everything is fine for a few minutes, then I either stop completely, or the screen goes dark (I'm still in the battle but can't play). There may be a prelude (huge ping spike, or controls stop working), or not. If you all are making some sort of big changes, be aware that under current conditions you are going to lose your customers long before any promised panacea comes out. NOTE: Wouldn't you consider there is a serious server problem if I am on RU2 and it tries TWICE for 4 minutes each time and cannot connect me to the selected battle??

CONNECTIONS ARE NOW TOTALLY BOLLIXED Server connections, which have been sporadically bad all week, are now completely unusable. Nothing has changed on my end, where I have historically had low pings and high frame rates, with briefly untenable conditions directly correlated to periods of inadequate server upkeep and poor management of resources. Recently, I began experiencing "blackouts" (dropped connection not even detected) and ridiculously high ping swings, to the point that I could not even complete one battle at some times. If the server connections cannot be maintained, there is no reason to even use the site. Your team has overtaxed the data capacity repeatedly, oblivious to the eventual consequences for players. You are trying to run 20,000 players with ever-increasing throughput on a system that could only reliably handle half the load. What will it require for you to accept and acknowledge this? It aggravates me to see new players complain and be told to make some arcane change to their own system.

You are "lucky" - you get a notification! SIX times today on RU2, I have just been disconnected from a battle, screen goes black, and yet I am still listed in the battle! Just before this happens, none of my Supplies will work -- I don't know if I am being killed while in the blackout mode or what.

Anybody else noticing that the latest version of the SHAFT POINTS UP glitch is "SHAFT WON'T MOVE DOWN" glitch ?? -- you have to click down, then hold down, then click down again to get the turret to lower!

No. The "minimum" for each module is 35% for each of the included turrets, with 15 steps to the maximum of 50% of all three. You cannot raise just one, but that was never an option. Sometimes with old paints you only raised 1 or 2 at each step. This new system *screams* GIVE US YOUR MONEY by establishing an entirely new hierarchy of paints. Tsk tsk.

BIG PROBLEM WITH FRAME RATE and LAG on RU2 and RU3 Rate is fine when I get in, then when I start to battle, I "freeze and jump" especially when I am firing - although my control inputs are working (tank continues to move), I can't see where I am going until the next "frame" which usually finds me crashed or up a wall. :angry: Is there a reported thread for this kind of intermittent connection, which seems to go hand-in-hand with a stack overflow/loss of data from the servers. For example, right now I am typing real-time here on the Forums and even now, my letters will occasionally NOT appear as I'm typing them. It is not a situation on any site but Tanki, so it has to be related. Could it be that those "R" presses and the other input changes are so overloading the servers that they drop connections when they occur??? This was *never* a problem to this extent before this month, and can make battles on those servers practically unplayable, because one minute you are in control and the next you aren't. The fact that it comes and goes probably relates to server loads. Also, this change exacerbates the Shaft "aiming up" problem because when it goes up, it STAYS there!! :huh:

BTW, has anyone mentioned that the "current player configuration" on the profiles has not worked since Monday? You could fix that.

Yup. I think you just have to look at the player logs to see how many younger, low-rank players will just despair of the price, and the silly updates, and when the numbers crunch, judge for yourself whether this was a "smart" update financially. When I think of all the missed opportunities to really make the site popular and profitable, it's depressing. Basically, you have a great product but you won't stop messing with it until you ruin it. And then you will blame somebody else.

Those aren't quitters, they're threateners - the only way anyone pays attention is when you tell them they will lose money. When I quit, I'll forward this to the bookkeeper so you can pick up the bill. Other than that, you will never know I'm gone. I do have a life, and when Tanki gets so screwed up as to no longer be fun, its sayonara. Eventually, it will be too expensive to keep up with the clans and the friends of the devs and admins.

I've cooled down, too. Now I no longer think of the devs as being clueless, just misguided.

You daring me to quit? If I do, the admins are going to want you to pony up my regular cash purchases. Hope you got some cash. Logically you will NEVER find out who quit because of this, because they are not going to tell you, just leave.

Some sort of fixation with finding new features at the expense of fixing problems (like that time bomb, which my brother could have found in about half an hour, if someone had bothered to look for it). I think these devs (we see them on the Vlogs) are just trying to "wow" each other coming up with things the players do not want or need. The failure is in management: one creative guy and one bean counter who need to find other jobs.

Same old, same old. We get "features" we don't want or need, wasting programmer time they should use elsewhere, and all to try to get a paltry few more crystals out of players. Whoever is the brain behind these things: please quit and let someone smarter do your job. Does it seem ironic that the term for this process was "disintegration" -- namely destroying the good will they had with the majority of players?

No, its a continuing server problem, not connected to Monday's outage. But in the last 2 days, I have had SERVER CONNECTION LOST errors in the middle of FOUR (4) different battles. The bubble gum and baling wire is not fixing the problems.

Here's a analogy: you give somebody $10 a month to feed your cat and pick up your newspaper when you are out of town. You give him $30 and he tells you halfway through the first month that he's going to leave the newspaper on the ground unless you give him another $20. Give them their premium 15% or give them their money back. Tanki is selling a service and is indeed subject to the consumer laws. Their liability is limited to a full refund for the unused period of the purchase. Unless they really, really want to hire more expensive lawyers... I can recommend a couple. ;)

It sure is. 15% doesn't sound like much, but it helps those who can't afford 100K paints (protections sounds like condoms) and 150K upgrades. I should know, because I bought 7 and protection again just 3 or 4 weapons is damnably expensive. Give the paying Premiums their 15% back.

Or we can think of it as an unnecessary pain-in-the-posterior dressed up as a feature, designed to jack up the paint prices without justification.

Now I could wear Africa and shrug off Hammers, while wearing Holiday (useless) paint schemes. Now how can we tell who we should attack without stopping the battle and having our enemies line up so we can click on them and see if we can kill them or not.. D-U-M-B U-P-D-A-T-E (I knew one had to be coming soon).

You are totally wrong : there would be *20000* dislikes. The only people who like it are the folks who want to hide somewhere with a paint like Digital but be protected like Irbis (which makes you a sitting duck except in snow)
