The combined battle list was probably inevitable with the coming of The Dread MatchMaking. It's just too bad it is starting so soon. It's going to reduce the number of players yet again. Why? Because many players (including me) use the different servers to find battles with few players or even start a battle in a specific mode to complete missions. I guarantee that there are many players out there that can not finish first in a battle. I'm a pretty good player and it is not easy for me to place first in a full battle. One guy in this thread said it is easy for him...all he has to do is play about three battles and he gets a 1st place. Wow, so that is 45 minutes and if you have 2 1st places that is an hour and a half...and he is probably a good player. That is a long time for one mission. Anyway, I doubt I will bother with missions when they entail an hour or two to complete. My guess is that there will be many people like me. Our in-game income will crash, can't upgrade or buy kits, can't be competitive...quit playing. This will usher in another great exodus from Tanki. My guess is that Tanki will become something like Agario for me. A game I enjoy and log in now and then to play, but nothing serious like Tanki is now...I log in religiously everyday because I am greedy and want to keep upgrading. If missions get too hard my mission chain will break and there will be no reason to log in everyday. Tanki is seeing less than 40000 players now, even at peaks....its more like 35000. I predict that this will drop by 25% within a few weeks after the unified battle list. See if I'm right...look for 25000 at peak play times.

Magnum's splash radius is much too wide. It needs a nerf badly.
-
The damage area for Magnum is too large, especially as the rank and upgrades kick in. In noob hands it is a hard to stop kamakazi 1 kill 1 death turret. In skilled hands it is just too overpowered and dominates the battle. People talk about a "Nuclear Overdrive", but I feel Magnum is almost that already. It is not like shaft or other long range turrets. If there are a couple of Magnums in the battle all that can be done is to try to keep taking them out...the rest of the players and tanks are secondary. Magnum should not be the focus of any battle it joins For me it impacts the quality of battles for the worse...even if the Magnums are on my team. Nerf 'em.

Dude, that is sooooo sad. Gotta read baby! I feel your pain though. I just got 850+ and I'm burnt out. No way could I do 2500...and all you get is the battle fund, no golds, no prem time, no module, and no tank lotto. You must be so pissed. -

Three and a half hours and still many kills to go...for 3 gold boxes...sigh. I am so far into it that I have to complete the 400, but what a chore. I may put off killing the balance until tomorrow. I was certainly fooling myself thinking I might try for the 800 and the 3 days of Prem...hahahahaha! No way! That would be like 12 to 15 hours of Tanki for me...maybe more...yikes! That's like a job, not a game. ...I guess I will go grind a few more kills  -
Too bad you shut down my thread about the summer mission chains...I think there was a lot of life left in it as people talked about the extension of the summer mission chain...oh well, so it goes...killed on the vine. The announcement today: Summer is soon to be over, and many ask what will happen with triple rewards for completing daily mission chains. To remind you about the event, if you have played the game and finished at least 1 mission every day, you got 3X rewards at the end of every daily mission chain. Good news! We are extending the event until the end of Autumn!

GuidoFawkes I'm very sorry to hear about your trauma, it sounds horrible if it broke both of your legs..damn. I hope you heal quickly and perfectly. Sounds like you will have more than enough time to get 10 golds, some Prem time, and a module....who knows, maybe you will even win the dream tank! Good Luck! (I peeked under the ignore banner when someone said they liked your mindset...I was curious) -
Weekend Giveaway with hot prizes and Double Funds!

Wow...good weekend event. No harder missions...yeah! Love the double battle funds even if they are not in Pro and only regular. Thank you Tanki for doing something nice FOR the players instead of something TO the players. Great event! :). -
I agree, the game is a lot more fun without the heavy drug use. That is why I am seriously considering not bothering with the mission chain and mostly play in pro-battles with no drugs and no Overdrive. The next big insult to skill promises to be OD on hulls...future disaster....bumper tanks, great

When they instituted the large summer chain rewards, I really felt they had something up their sleeve...I guess I am a paranoid conspiracy nut, but I really think they gave all the supplies and crystals to motivate players to use more supplies. They stop the special summer rewards as they honestly said they would, and in a month or two people start to run out of their summer drugs. Many players got used to drugging more and like it (it's fun to win), so they turn into buyers to keep winning. Tanki makes money, the game doesn't fold up, and stays free...good. We just have to deal with more vicious druggers...so be it. What I wonder is will it backfire on them. Several people here seem to be inclined to stop their daily reward chain...me included. That makes it easy to skip a day, or two, or three without logging in. This may take a big bite out of the volume of players. It's 30000 now (approx). Might players breaking their mission chains knock this volume number down to 25000?...I think it could very well happen...even before the dread MatchMaking system thrashes the already compromised enjoyment of the game and pulls the volume of player to a dangerously low level. So maybe they already did compromise the game economy buy giving us so much and then (probably) stopping the largesse tomorrow. Time will tell!

What's up with the harder missions already? I thought it was going to be a weekEND event, not almost an entire week of "destroy 250 enemies" 2nd post: That's really weird. Earlier today I did one mission and let one slide until now. As I logged into my account, I have three missions again. Earlier, one mission was "250 kills for 4125 crystals" and I posted about it above, wondering why the weekend style big mission. That was the one I didn't do and "poof" it's gone; now to be replaced with two more do-able, normal missions (for way less crystals). Odd...had to have been a glitch from the weekend event.

Greetings and Welcome! Best of luck in your new position. In your honor, I created a new account and intend to mimic your progress as you rank up (maybe a bit better K/D :) ). I named it Knives. I too am a fan of Sci Fi

Magnum looks like one of those blind moles. Quite a few Magnum players drive like they are blind too. :) Isida/Wasp seems like a panda cub. Firebird/Viking reminds me of a frying pan ...from the shooters perspective. Striker looks like Wall-E from the Disney movie...especially mounted on Wasp

I too am considering a halt to my mission chain. With MM in the not too distant future, daily missions will become even more of a pain, so maybe stop a little early. Not being chained to the mission chain would let you pick and choose daily missions that are appealing...no weekly bonus, but lots more time to engage in drug free pro-battles and a mission here and there would still add up. I like to play with Isida as support, but the daily missions turn me into an attack-sida with all the DM battles. With the mission chain broken, there would be no need to bother with all the DM battles. If you use up your one choice change and you still have no mission that looks fun, no big deal, just let that days missions slide.

Thanks...I did it already. The forum does seem brighter already :) Now Guido is just a white band where his posts used to be.

You seem to have a very caustic nature. Everything you say (at least that I have read) is insulting. I don't like being insulted. I don't like your posts. This thread was meant to get a bit of a discussion going about the impending demise of the large mission rewards and its impact on the game, but you use it as a way to attack and insult. Your posts are too irritating to read and they make me angry. I believe I will see how the ignore works on this forum. I hope I never have to see one of your posts again. I wish you the very best of luck in the game and in your life. I truly hope you can quell your demons.

Will big Weekly Mission Chain bonuses be ending soon?
ByeByeBye replied to ByeByeBye in Will big Weekly Mission Chain bonuses be ending soon? Archive
Drugs are now an integrated part of Tanki. ...not like it was several months ago when you would still be called "noob" or drugger" if you popped a repair kit just before the annoying Firebird fried you. The Weekly Mission Chain bonuses made drugging more common place since EVERYONE had lots more drugs to use. They are sitting there at the bottom of your screen lighting up and beeping, why not use them...no points awarded for non-drug use. ...and OverDrug OverDrive got every player more used to playing with drugs whether they were pro or con drug use in battles. The more you do something the more you will do that something...conditioning. So as Pavlov feeds his dogs, Tanki has made us all bigger drug users. I am curious what will happen in a few days when the biggie summer bonuses stop and we go back to normal weekly chain rewards. Will Tanki continue the bonuses into the fall? My guess is that it is time for Tanki to start the harvest of what they sewed. There have to be players that liked using the drugs but now their supply will be gone or at least start to dwindle quickly. Maybe some of them (a bigger percentage anyway) will start to buy drugs with real money. Since drugs are something that we all must live with now, I hope Tanki will generate lots of income from drug sales (as they planned). Maybe, if they do, they will stop compromising the quality of game-play with constant and irritating updates. What do you think will happen? Will many players leave the game if/when rewards go down? Will many players start buying drugs from the shop? Will drug use in battles start to lessen? How do you see the impact of smaller rewards affecting the game? -
Silly question, but I just thought I'd ask anyway for clarification: When we complete a mission it does not need to be redeemed by the end of the event right? In other words, after we finish our event "special" mission and we can claim the reward immediately or we can hold it for a day or two without claiming it right?
-
These events are tedious and tiresome. Someone said double battle funds is a celebration and I agree. These difficult missions burn as many or more supplies than awarded....I guess that is the idea, eh Tanki? I played for several hours today. People were horribly rude in CTF; fighting teammates for flags. It takes a game that has gone way downhill and makes it even worse when there is NO TEAMWORK at all. In the five or six hours I played today, I saw two gold boxes the whole time. Like other comments, this doesn't seem anywhere near 5X gold boxes...does everything go to the Legends and very high ranks? Anyway, it will be great to get rid of this "celebration" GO FOR Double Battle Funds next event...all players like that.
-
II do not like these "special" daily missions even if they do garner larger rewards. The 10 flag thing brings out the worst in many players and the 250 kills is just too time consuming. Celebration hell. The golds are welcome and double battle funds would be more celebratory than more difficult missions, but the missions burn everyone's supplies faster so Tanki gets to sell more I guess.

Review [Special] A Test in Review: The Matchmaking System
ByeByeBye replied to Yisroel.Rabin in Newspaper Archive
This article is a perfect microcosm of Tanki Online. It demonstrates the utter and absolute futility of trying to reason with Tanki Online. If Tanki Online were a person they would be on medication, in therapy, and locked in a padded room for protection against themselves. ...the colors are pretty. -
That is priceless. The teams are full, true, but full of multi-ranked players. I also noticced on the second day more and more players would not complete a battle on the losing side because of the low rewards (my guess). The system frantically kept the battle full by sending fodder from the lobby into half completed games to be chewed up by the Overdrive winning team. In about three hours of play, I think I saw the start of two battles. I wasn't paying as much attention on the 1st day but I don't think I saw the start of many battles either. Basically you are sent to half completed battles on the losing team at least 70% of the time. This is not hard to acheive in the battle list and takes WAY less time. Choosing a battle from the Battle List might take a bit of time if you are CHOOSING. But, to duplicate the way Matchmaking works, all you would have to do is click on the first battle you see regardless of time left in the battle, winning/losing side, rank brackets, or map. Matchmaking did no match making. All it did was keep tossing players into random battles when there was a vacancy. I really should be renamed to RandomMatch.

Two days of crap MM. so today I decide to have some fun, pull the pin on a Premium Daily Mission I've been saving, and nothing but LAG. I can join a battle (after several attempts) and I have about 10 seconds to have my shots do any damage. After that I can only be killed. Could this be a new way for Tanki to entice buyers? Free players can't fight back? hmmmmmm. Nah, not even Tanki. The MM was tedious and boring with the waits, now I can't even play...does that make MM better? Nah, better to not play at all.
-
Thank the pixel gods that that farce is over with!...at lest for now. What a bloody time waster! Matchmaking would make a great option to replace the Battle Button, but that is it. To make it the default way to enter a battle is absolutely ludicrous. Hopefully the Devs will listen to the thousands of players that didn't care for the MM system and prefer the current system.

I have a hunch you thought that about the 20,000 or so players that have stopped playing Tanki this year. :)
