  1. LOL - NO one is asking for a Magnum "buff". :P :D  Unless you spell buff N-E-R-F.

Kits vs MUing vs Straight-up Buying

    > Marshal you can't buy a kit anyway - all the m3 items have been unlocked by then.

What to buy? Which is better?

I don't use Rail - at all - so I can't compare. What I can say is since the day I bought Ricco m3 I've had a blast with it. Useful in many modes and many maps. And killing tanks hiding in tunnels is such fun. If you do buy Ricco get the long-range alt - I have it equipped 100% of the time.

    April Fool's is finally here!

My alt gained the rank to buy m2 turret last week and sales postponed. After waiting a week 30% seems rather underwhelming.

What to buy? Which is better?

I have smky m3 16/20 and became disappointed with it's performance. So I bought Ricco + the MFS alt. I barely use smoky now that I have Ricco - their range of effectiveness is too similar and Ricco is better. So I do not recommend smoky if you already have Ricco and enjoy it.

    Let's Discuss Protection Modules

You like capturing flags on M-L maps but your go-to combo is Hunter/Rail? Seems a little slow for that, but hey - play what you have fun with. Probably first module then to M3 would be long-range, as enemies will have time to snipe at you coming & going - especially as Hunter is not all that speedy. Shaft/Rail/Thunder (old prodigy) is standard long-range. But Magnum has changed things up. Would be good to have Magnum soon as well since it is good at targeting static tanks sitting there capturing CPs.

    Ideas for Game Modes!

I agree. A one-and-done "elimination" battle does not make for a good tanki battle-mode. Out of the battle and looking for another battle within 15 seconds? meh. A special event (with < 100 players)? Maybe. Battle mode? Nope.

    Let's Discuss Isida!

They can be a pain, and that strategy can get good results but... For every tank in the attacking force, add one defender - else it is not a good comparison. So 3 isidas? 3 magnums hitting them ~ same time = someone dying. Isidas have 5 sec attack - so they can't be healing too. if a bunch are coming it can't really be a "sneak-attack" - ranged weapons will soften them up on the way. if they keep healing they will be dry when arriving at flag. That's how my team on Serpuhov won - we used a LOT of ranged weapons.
  9. You wanted to respond to Sky9 but quoted my post - which leaves out all sky9 said. I think in this case you should be quoting sky9, but whatever. You are wrong on so many of your points - almost all of it is just not correct. You mention K/D and experience as if they go hand-in-hand. They do not. Maybe it's a language thing and you chose the wrong word? And talking of experience... Your Sky9 account has experience with... - TDM - 1 combo of items. And that's it. You are missing 6 battle modes and much more equipment. This account has no experience. Log at least 1/4 of your hrs with Isida, play DM, cap a bunch of flags, and cap a whole lot of Capture Points. Then come back and discuss K/D.

Kits vs MUing vs Straight-up Buying

Why didn't you MU your equipment after buying the M2 kits? Your items would have been even more OP since you are improving on the early unlock. You can even improve your protection modules to make them M3 - something we could not do before paint separation.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

The alt does not give you "old smoky" which had better reload. It gives you a much improved impact at expense of critical. Useful in some instances but definitely not "old smoky"

    Complaint Book

ASL is only good if you have a "capture flags" mission. They count. Try to do it on Desert - red has advantage.

    Why annoying to... play with?

Kits vs MUing vs Straight-up Buying

If you plan on continuing with the equipment you have then it is good to MU (mostly during sales). Even though improvements are small - you realize the benefits immediately. And allows you to have equivalent of next M-level way sooner for some equipment that unlocks late. Hunter m1, Thunder m1, smoky m2. Kits are good if you want at least 2 or 3 of the major components as you save some money, and get them unlocked earlier - which means you can start MU-ing immediately. Some people have voiced this is OP and unfair - but is currently withing rules. Of course with kit rotations you need to be lucky it is available at time of need. Saving for a modification - really only do this if you are trying to get a new item not in your garage. Also often done at lower ranks where you don't have to wait long to get to proper rank. Else, you have a long wait for unlock. Why not just MU the equipment you already have and get immediate benefits?

What to buy? Which is better?

M4 is over-rated after the tweaks they made to M3. The stock difference is 13-14%. Not huge at all. And MU-ing past 10/20 so early is diminishing returns - those last 10 steps get exponentially expensive. Better to MU part-way and ensure multiple M3 turrets for flexibility against M3 protections of 35%+. You eventually want M4, but not that crucial until most of your opponents are Legends.

    Let's Discuss Isida!

I meant in your example... mini-battle within the overall battle basic rule of thumb - just target the isida first. It can't heal itself. If there's multiple isidas you will have multiple tanks attacking those isidas - attack the same isida = isida dead.
  17. wolverine848

    Let's Discuss Isida!

How many tanks vs how many tanks? How do multiple isidas hide behind a firebird? Mammoth/firebird?
  18. I have already agreed it is a good idea to put in hints about use of supply drops. On the other hand - K/D is in no way an indicator of experience or ability.
  19. Not sure what K/D has anything to do with this... and is 2 just a number you pulled out randomly? Anyway, aside from that... - I agree some kind of hint/tip can be useful for new players. - I disagree it's a "rule" - since it surely is not - some players take the RK even if not injured and there are 2 legitimate reasons (that I can think of) for doing so. - hard to believe you've never seen anyone above Brigadier take the RK uninjured - it's a strategy to deny enemies using the RK in your base. I do it whenever necessary. better I take the RK than an enemy carrying our flag - correct?

    Game economy

I'm going to hold judgement until I see how Match-Making works out. With inability to choose map (or team) missions might become a lot harder. It might place you on the "losing" team with 6 minutes left in battle. Good luck when you enter battle and are immediately spawn-killed. OverDrive has a made lop-sided battles waaaay more lopsided and the "losers" do not get much reward at all. Even if they implement the "new reward" system you still need to do well. Most of the "losers" will not be doing so well (see spawn-killing above)

    Let's Discuss Magnum!

Oh for sure. Just under the circumstances described the "attacker" was at a disadvantage - not an optimal situation. Especially if outnumbered.

    Let's Discuss Magnum!

OK - I understand the situation better now. As a (lone) flag-stealer you will be at a disadvantage versus 2 defenders of course. In this case your best tactic is to grab-and-run. Your goal is not to defeat the defenders - it is to get the flag as far away from the enemy base as possible. And with no turret rotation Magnum is not necessarily best turret for grabbing flags - harder for you to hit and run than a turret that rotates. I have seen pumped-up Magnums stealing flags - a lot - but that is not the best utilization of the turret.

    Let's Discuss Magnum!

Isida + your target = 2 tanks. What happens if you have a 2nd magnum - both of you targeting the isida? Why will you die first? As a magnum you are behind a building/wall right?
