  1. Depends on HOW you do the farming. In order to "farm" you need to enter a battle. If you enter a team battle to just collect supplies, you are taking up the spot of a tanker that would contribute to the team. My example further up was a player NOT contributing to the team, basically putting us one player short.

    Upgradable Overdrive

I also wish Overdrive only built up through time. So spawn-killing and drugging hard won't have any effect. That would make OD more palatable.

    Let's Discuss Striker!

I agree. and most targets at Legend are moving very fast. it's not worth it to equip Striker in a battle to catch the odd heavy hull moving slowly. 3 possible improvements to make striker more useful - and none of them include more damage. - reduce lock-on time by 30-40% but also reduce damage by... (15%?) and maybe even increase the re-load time. - Or - have laser appear with 1 second before lock-on - Increase the speed of the missiles - tanks can dodge them - and they are too slow to properly lead any target further away than short range. I also like the idea about being able to launch 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 missiles depending on how long you hold the spacebar. Just send them straight ahead - no guidance. I also have issues shooting at static targets from long range - the single-shots have a goofy arc to them - they do not fly straight. The silly turret gives no real indication of where the missile is going to go. trying to "turn on the laser for a second to aim" also has issues - gives away your intention. And don't get me started on the left/right launching - that's another handi-cap on an already handi-capped turret. I use it on and off - and it never gets any better. Each time I use it I'm hurting my team. As soon as I switch to Ricco, even on the large maps, the team does better.

    Upgradable Overdrive

Wut? :o OverDrive is one of the worst things to happen to tanki. It makes battles that are slightly unbalanced completely unbalanced and impossible to make a comeback in. You know which team is building OD faster? The team that's already winning. You know which team will have fewer people leaving? The team that's winning and using OverDrive. Until we can force gold-hunters and noobs who refuse to activate OD for their team-mates, OverDrive should be junked.
  5. I believe that is what this person was doing - sitting on the small hill near the bridge that has a repair kit. I go into battles to collect supplies for missions as well because - as you suggest - they are relatively easy to do. However, I also play the battle I'm in. Over the course of a 15-min battle it should not be a huge issue to contribute to team AND collect supplies. And if you absolutely have to camp - at least use a camping turret so you can eliminate the competition. Hammer doe not qualify.

    Let's Discuss Smoky!

You can get by without buying - make sure you do daily missions and complete the chain every week. The crystals and supplies adds up. The supplies issue has been debated ever since they were introduced. Doubt you will see much change to them unless there is a huge system overhaul. Doubt if match-making can take into account equipment - many people have m0 to m3+ in their garages. Plus m0 10/10 is considered m0 - but the power difference can be huge. As a small consolation, Smoky loses it's luster at M3 and above. Many short-range turrets better up close, and Ricco and Thunder (coughMAGNUMcough) better at the longer ranges.
  7. And more mults last night... Some genius in CP battle, would not stray 30m from his/her perch on a hill to grab a CP. Instead, camping with a Hammer in Solimansk while "doing missions". Camping with a Hammer  . Thanks for all the help you MULT.

    Let's Discuss Isida!

I disagree about the "isn't made for fighting part". This is an arcade game, not a role-playing game - so all turrets need to be made for fighting. Just like freeze - it has a special ability that supplements the combat part. Freeze slows down flag stealers, isida heals team-mates. But make no mistake - not being able to destroy another tank would be a huge disadvantage. A turret that is solely reliant on team-play is useless in this game.
  9. Don't get me wrong - I dislike what they did. People bought the hulls for a reason then they changed it all. Was just a comment on the directly superior part. I had the original Viking and was certainly upset they switched the stats with Hunter - the one I did NOT buy. My alt account I reversed this and bought Hunter - the Viking I used to have.

    Will Magnum Ever Get Nerfed?

That's very disappointing - basing a turrets value on maybe the top 10% of users :(. The fact that almost no-one uses a turret that has been around for > 1 & 1/2 yrs should be evidence enough. And tweaks can be made to make it more usable and still not OP - like trading off some damage for reducing lock-on time, or reducing amount of time laser is visible.
  11. Viking currently is not superior to Hunter (aside from m1 or m2 where one dominates the other). Each has advantages over the other. Depends on if you value high-end speed vs acceleration+stability.

    Will Magnum Ever Get Nerfed?

Maybe at M2 it seems great - it is one of the better M2s. But once you reach m3+ and play against a bunch of other M3+ it will not seem as powerful. I don't see much of a decline usually ~ 1-2 per team. With 10 (or less) tanks on a team that ratio is >> than the 1/13 it should be. CTF most popular (always 2+) due to the static points (flags) where they know defenders will be hit. Exact opposite of striker... not even 1 per battle. I'm often using one of my two magnum protection modules and still take lots of damage - even if magnum does not kill you out-right it is damaging multiple tanks - including the isida trying to heal you. The limited choices of turret selections to go with magnum in a protection module is a problem.

You working an abacus while you play, or what? B)

What Do You Think of the Reduced Gold Time?

Source? I think they did it so it takes up less time in the match, and to make it more difficult for multers just sitting around waiting for gold. It will be more luck - especially on the larger maps.

Tank Controls, Gold Box Drops update

What leads you to believe it won't still happen to you?
  16. Isn't it 50%? Doing 270 dmg/second at long distance sounds ok to me. Compared to smoky's 206 per shot... :o

Crazy Weekend is on March 23-25

I can just see it... Someone buys a turret at 25% off. One week later April 1 all turrets 50% off. :D  :o :(
  19. you mean it's average damage is just plain weak or... the "weak damage" (at extreme range) is not good?

    Complaint Book

Yeah - was terrible luck for me. I think the change happened ~ 1 month after I bought the kit. Note on Prodigi though - I'd actually prefer the current modules, as Prodigi I don't believe could ever have 50% Shaft protection, could it? I'd say the most advantageous LGC ones are the 4-protections. (Prodigi's 5% fire does not count)

    Ask a Battle Mod

Try going on pause - see what happens. If it's you versus 7 others, they will get bored fast. If you have sunk costs into the battle take a death every 2 minutes and collect your crystals. If I've seen similar situations they usually get bored if there's no targets. But I do understand your frustrations.

Episode 165 of the V-LOG is now live!

Yup. My 2nd Lieut account is waiting for next sale to buy Vulcan M2. So currently I have Thunder 1.5/Hunter 1.9 along with Freeze 1.7/Hornet1.5 This transition is difficult - many enemies with upgraded M2s versus my "M2-lights".

    Let's Discuss Isida!

The "old" isida with 50% vampirism was not a true medic - they did plenty of killing - like a vampire. Since this is NOT a role-playing game, being able to destroy enemies is just as important for Isida as healing is. No turret should be totally dependent on team-mates like a dedicated medic would be. Unplayable in DMs or on teams made of just light hulls that keep dying before you can heal them. But being able to "hunt down the enemy that carries your flag in their base" while you still carry their flag is a bit OP, don't you think?
  24. Depending on how they implement Match-Making, it could slowly wean me off "normal" battles and just into Custom. At least for this account. Gaining crystals quickly not as important since I don't have to worry about crystal-to-exp ratio. Just upgrades and more Magnum modules (if they ever release any).

    Let's Discuss Isida!

Enemies with high protection module? working with M4 to keep it simple... 1000x5 seconds can kill pretty much anything - once - without recharging. But run into enemy with medium hull and module > 40% and there is trouble. isida runs out of gas. Against heavy hulls the threshold is even lower.
