    Let's Discuss Drones!

@At_Shin I forgot to show you these. These are some of the things I pull off with Miner. This one is my favourite chokepoint. Yes there are many alternative routes to take but they can't take this one. That Mammoth Striker was targeting for the majority of the battle.

    Let's Discuss Magnum!

Magnum has...very poor splash damage distrubution. What is a positive of this? It makes it less risky to use it in melee combat compared to something like Gauss. You ever wondered why that Viking Magnum who was nuking you with its Overdrive in your face didn't self-destruct? Because compared to the damage he's dealing to you, he's barely scratching himself if he has protection. 6 metres away from the blast zone and the Magnum would be dealing 30% damage. At 6 metres away, if a Magnum was dealing 6,000 damage to someone with Viking's Overdrive, the Magnum would only be suffering 450 damage if it has DA and 50% protection. Compare it to Gauss. They both deal the same damage for a direct hit. At 6 metres from the blast zone, Magnum will be dealing 30% damage, but all the way at 12 metres, Gauss would be dealing 90% damage. This is why Gausses self-destruct even though the target looks reasonably far away. Gauss' splash damage distrubution is just too good to use a sniping shot safely at melee range. Because of this poor splash damage, it is even more efficient to use RGC over Stock. Most of the shots with RGC are direct hits on enemies so it was barely affected by the splash damage nerf.

Thank you very much. I will keep this in mind when I see any numbers that look incorrect.

    Let's Discuss Drones!

When it has some upgrades on it, yes, it is. It's one of things I'm having fun with in the game right now besides Assault Rounds. Keep in mind that you'd use this for defence if you want as much value out of it as possible. Using this drone whole you're off attacking in the enemy base is wasting it's potential. It allows you to quickly place mines by manually activating supplies to reduce the cooldown of the mines, and if you die, some mines will not be destroyed. What makes it great is that the only plausible way to counter it is for enemies to run over the mines. It has a 10-second cooldown which starts immediately as you die. It takes ~9.5 seconds to go from being dead to materialising. This allows it so that there is a very, very small window in which enemies can kill you and your mines disappear, which is only available to Hornets as in that 0.5-second window, you'd have spawn protection. Miner allows you to place the mines however you want. Saboteur has a fixed pattern. You can place multiple mines on top one another and kill someone who thinks it's only one mine. Just like Saboteur, it allows you to shut down a pathway for the enemies. A Defender drone can counter it by running over more mines before it dies. Recommended hull: Titan Why? Because you're manually using supplies to reduce the mine cooldowns, there will be the 30-second smart cooldowns after the duration of the supplies end. There will be downtime where you aren't able to place mines or manually use supplies. Titan's OD helps with your survivability with its long-lasting duration of protection. It keeps you alive longer to block off the pathway and create pressure for the enemies. Mammoth can work as well but Titan should be more reliable. Last point - Ideally, you would want to have an EMP Gauss on the enemy team if you're using Miner. The order in which you activate supplies for maximum value is: Mine -> speed boost. Your DA and DD will be on a 5-second cooldown and your mine will be on a 10-second cooldown. Assess the situation at this time. Best case scenario, no one is threatening you so you use your mine and then DA or DD depending on the situation then. Repair kits can come in the equation at any time you are injured, but look at your mine cooldown and then look at the situation in front of you. Best case scenario, you can wait the 10 seconds to use a mine then use repair kit. Worst case scenario, you'd need to use the repair kit as quickly as possible and lose out on what was aforementioned. Use your Titan OD when necessary for survival or holding the chokepoint until you get back your supplies. An EMP Gauss can set all of your supplies to a 5-second cooldown. So if you are in the 20-25 second downtime for your supplies and an EMP Gauss catches you with the splash, you can now start over the process above 20 seconds faster. Essentially, an EMP Gauss reduces your downtime. Out of all the drones that reduce the cooldown of a specific supply, Miner benefits the most from being hit by an EMP Gauss. Surviving a Hunter OD is also beneficial for Miner. Your foreboding presence of being alive and in the same position for most of the battle will likely prompt enemies to come deal with you. They will kill you and then run straight over your mines and die. They can keep trying to kill you, but that will not destroy the mines. The only way to get rid of the mines is for them to run over it. ? Recommended modes: CTF, RGB and ASL (blue team). It can work in TDM but only if enemies are hellbent on destroying you in particular. It takes time to set up but the reward for doing so is worth it personally. If you're planning on buying this drone, do note that it indirectly increases your repair kit consumption. A high placing in battles isn't guaranteed with this drone like it is with Defender or Booster. If you're simply looking to have some fun while defending your team's flag or rugby capture point, this drone is for you.

The micro-upgrades page for drones may need to be revised. I currently am not able to check the upgrades on the Test Server. I looked on the Wiki to see when the next upgrade for Miner have +2 mines. It said on the 10th upgrade is where it is. I've reached on the 10th upgrade but it's showing +1 and not +2.

    Smoky Critical Chance

That's an issue with the way the statistics are shown on the Wiki. Those numbers for the minimal critical chance are negative values. Multiply what you see for that parameter by -100 to show what the true value is. Nothing was changed. You still need two normal shots after a critical hit to bring the chance to a positive value. The earliest you can gain a critical hit after another one is critical - normal shot - normal shot - critical.

Is Electromagnetic Accelerator "Scout" the new Thunder?

This does not concern Hornet. This is comparing Scout and Thunder. They both can be equipped on any hull.

Is Electromagnetic Accelerator "Scout" the new Thunder?

I was going to make this topic in June but I decided to hold out since the buff was still fresh back then. Now that I'm seeing just as many Scouts as LCRs, if not more, it was time for it to be posted.

The one on the left is a Smoky augment. .

Is Electromagnetic Accelerator "Scout" the new Thunder?

With all the augments for turrets currently in the game, there will be a few that come close overlapping the gameplay of another turret entirely. What has had my eye for a while now is Scout after its buff. Scout turns the intervals between your Railgun's shots into that which is very slightly faster than Thunder even after its own reload buff. Before the buff, Scout did the same damage as Thunder. Now it is dealing more damage and is able to near comfortably one-shot light hulls of the same modification, something Thunder cannot (or is very, very unlikely to) do. In the later modifications, it will have almost 100% penetration letting it deal the same damage to all enemies. Players often compare Thunder to Gauss stating that Gauss is overall superior. I would rather compare it to Scout Railgun. I say that's the difference between comparing Large Calibre Rounds to Stock Railgun and comparing "Death Herald" Compulsator to Stock Railgun. One of them has vastly different stats and fights to be superior. The other just is. In this case, Gauss fights to be superior with its own struggles of acquiring targets and effectively using the arcade mode. Scout is just Thunder with more damage and impact force. One fights to be better, one just is. What do you think about this? Is Thunder becoming overshadowed?

    Let's Discuss Matchmaking

Parma CTF. What's funny is that I also had a battle like this on Congo recently that was also in Parma CTF.
  13. Why must we ignore the first upgrade? You claim that Mk7-Mk7+ is a distance of two modifications and not one. In Vulcan and Shaft's case, the distance between Mk1-Mk2 and Mk7-Mk7+ is the same. Would it be accurate to call Mk7+ Shaft and Vulcan Mk9? After all, it's the same distance as Mk1-Mk2, which is a distance of one modification.

    Let's Discuss Railgun!

The majority of Railguns I see are on Hornet or Viking. They are both known to be slippery because of their weight and proneness to drifting when turning at max speed. One way to have fun with Smoky is to use Assault Rounds against them, and torture them. Spin them 90, degrees everything they try to shoot you with their hull perpendicular to your turret. I have the most fun against LCR Railguns and Gausses on Hornets. What's happening though is the advent of all these Heavyweight Construction Hornets. They're practically immune to impact force. And now Vikings will be having Heavyweight Construction with the current challenege. That's one bit of remaining fun going down the drain now.
  15. Do this again but with Vulcan and Shaft. You will see that the increase between Mk1-Mk2 and Mk7-Mk7+ is the same for those two. So would you call that Mk9 even though it's the same distance as one modification?

    Mamouth OD

Since the release of Overdrives, Mammoth's invincibility made it the only hull that would take gold boxes during meteorite gold box events. At first there was no way to counter them. As long as a Mammoth with their Overdrive ready was on the gold box marker, there was nothing you could do. Fast forward to the Halloween 2019 event, this problem persisted during the celebrations on the Halloween map filled with Nuclear Supply boxes and rocket (meteorite) gold boxes. To combat this, they decided to rework Mammoth's Overdrive. Its invincibility was removed and was instead granted a higher speed boost, an increased duration, and an instant repair of the tank to full HP upon activation. If you would like to hear what the Devs had to say, then you can watch its respective V-Log.

    Let's Discuss Railgun!

That's fine. I forced myself to use it exclusively on Flash so that I wouldn't have to depend on Mobile's advantages to use it. As a result my accuracy has increased with all Smokies.

    Let's Discuss Railgun!

For Flash and HTML5, I'd say Incendiary Rounds could be the best if there are little to no Heat hull augments on the enemy team. But on TO mobile, Autocannon is superior to them all.

    Titan OD

There was no official reason as to why it was removed. It was assumed that the nerf to the Overdrive was to combat the multitude of Titan Overdrives in then-new Siege mode that caused poor gameplay and FPS issues for some players.

Gauss Stat Balance for High Rank Players

That with DD will one-shot an unprotected heavy hull. You seem to have some tunnel vision with Gauss. EVERY turret is affected the same way by Defender. Why do you want Gauss to deal such insane damage? This is biased towards Gauss, which is agreed upon to be already overpowered. It benefits all ranks. Every turret can be used without problem at all ranks. So what if it came out in 2019? Does that give it permission to be overpowered? I don't see how Gauss fans can be disappointed when you got a damage increasing augment, a downright cancerous-to-fight-against paywalled augment, and three skins in quick succession while it continues to dominate high rank battles and ruin Siege mode with its ridiculous splash damage.

    Let's Discuss Railgun!

I don't see how you can regret buying Scout without regretting buying Railgun first. Scout increases Railgun's DPM. It's practically better than Stock after the buff.
