Do note that this poll was created in early 2017, when there were more players on the Forum, more votes came from earlier on in the topic, and Magnum itself was different then than now, as well as RGC coming out in late 2018 and ODs coming out only in 2019. The nerf that Magnum received to its splash damage only helped boost RGC relative to Stock. I assumed that the large splash damage radius and favourable average splash damage % parameter, it was to compensate for its advanced aiming mechanism. RGC innately encourages you to obtain direct hits. So most if not all of your shots would be dealing 100% damage to the main target. It gives Magnum more flexibility than Stock allowing it to be on the front lines more readily and capitalise on its RNG-heavy damage distribution. Hornet's Overdrive happens to synergise with it well. Just like it does with Sledgehammer Rounds, "DH"C and Scout Railguns, and Rapid-Fire Mode Shaft. It does need you to be more on the lucky side with your shot's damage distribution, as well as taking advantage of the short reload after a 100% shot. If the conditions are right, you can get a slow team reset of the enemy team. Good enough to buy your team some time to get to the objective.

Several battles with poor GS balancing between teams
TheCongoSpider replied to BigBigBalls in Archive
With the (most probably) unintentional unequipping of protection modules after the M-Mk conversion, I noticed that MM somehow placed players with no protection on one team and players with protection on the other. The GS difference was clearly visible. I happen to be placed on the team with no protection most of the time and my teams were thoroughly spawnkilled as a result. it was bad and I had the thought that this unintentional happening exposed a possible flaw in the MM system. That was on the day of the update and the day after that. Now, there are much more players re-quipping their protection modules and the battles have certainly become better and more fair. But I was surprised to see such a distribution, and it happened with different players. It's the fact that is was consistent and not a one-time thing that was concerning. -
It looks like the line that appears when an ally is within the range of a Support Drone that gives effects to teammates. In this case, that Viking Railgun had the Mechanic Drone and the Firebird Viking was in range.
-
Yeah, that's why...

I expected this, and I understand. Before the December 26th update, I had never seen an ally willingly run away from me if they saw I had my Overdrive ready. Why would you run away from getting all of your supplies activated and an instant 50% charge Overdrive boost? Makes no sense and I'd like to believe that you were watching teammates from behind that were driving away and who most likely did not see you. Who knows, maybe your teammates are masochists. ? Understandable. And why exactly did you start playing with it after the update? What was the big difference between before December 26th and after December 26th if you innately prioritised using the Overdrive for yourself?

Each turret had different unlock ranks and prices depending on those ranks. Some have wide ranges between the Mks, while others have densely packed Mks for a few of the modifications. Freeze was one of the turrets that received a conversion that had densely packed Mks, specifically at Mk4, 5 and 6. The new parameter statistics were to be spread across 7 modifications instead of 4. When it was 4, Freeze had the smallest increase in statistics from M1 to M2. And then had a big jump from M2 to M3. The modifications have been spread out, and it is not a perfect spread. You can say it's almost like the old system in the sense that some have big jumps in stats overall, some have small jumps for some Mks then get bigger jumps later one. Magnum and Twins are the ones that are the most evenly spread out. The Mk-M ratio that you speak of where you said that M2 should = Mk5, treat that like an average. Because of the fluctuations between the Mk statistics, it will not always match up with the ratio. You say that your M2 Freeze (which has low stats for an M2 and puts it at a general disadvantage for the conversion) became Mk3. in order for that to become Mk3, you would have had at most 1 micro-upgrade on your Freeze. If you had 2 micro-upgrades, then it would have been converted to Mk4 2/10. Freeze just happens to be unfortunate enough to have an unfavourable conversion. As for your Hornet, the same thing applies. Its Mks are densely packed at Mk4, 5 and 6. In order to have gotten Mk4 Hornet, you would have had at most 3 micro-upgrades on your Hornet M2. It is just the way the conversion works, and remember: Your equipment was not downgraded. Your parameter statistics are the same as they were before the conversion. The only thing that would have changed would be its appearance. -
This is untrue... But yes, a damage bug has been reported by others, including myself. I have only seen it when using Remote Rocket Explosives. I will try the others to see if I notice the same.

Why do you need incentive to share it in the first place? (Just curious) So based on what you're saying there, I'm gathering that you had no mind to share it with anyone before the buff. Did you usually use it on yourself before the buff? Time taken to process that message and find you is time taken away from doing other things in the battle like killing or chasing certain targets that may or may not have your team's flag or the Rugby ball. Just do it when you reach an ally. You used to get 0 for it and now you're getting 10. It's better than before.

Nice use of the word useless there. One alteration for Striker seems to be doing decreased damage so you call the whole turret useless? Interesting. Thunder has a fast projectile speed and is still able to top the boards but it is useless? interesting. Shock Freeze, which allows you to Freeze enemies in place very very quickly and run away with a flag is useless? Even after the damage buff? Your standards must be pretty high. Look in your garage and tell me what MK your Dictator is. The profile ratings show 1 modification less than what it really is in-game. -

Yeah on the Wiki: https://en.tankiwiki.com/Overview_of_the_new_MK_system -
I kinda liked the look of Viking and Hornet LGC for that. They just looked like glorified M0s and attracted me to shoot them more. It's satisfying to kill those especially. I'd still prefer my M3 look, but having no metal doesn't seem so bad. Viking Ultra just looks out of place. It looks like a princess trying to hold up her frilly dress while sliding.

I believe this should be directed at Magnum and not Gauss? Since Gauss is just like the other "line-of-sight" turrets.

I sneak around so many people every day. Sometimes I wanna wear something bright like the Orange paint; sometimes I wanna wear something dark like the Black or Green Paint. I know that if I wear the Orange paint, players would make me out from farther and remember me by my distinct colour. I usually settle for wearing the Metallic Paint. May not be stealthy enough but it usually hides what modification my turret and hull is and would put extra work (even if very little) on the enemies' minds.

chuckles nervously GS still helped with gaining knowledge of a tank's power if you knew what quantity each part of the tank contributed. You had basic templates like 7k GS = M2 10/10 and 3 M2 protection modules. It has been becoming easier over the months with the changes they made to it. Mk update probably messed that up and I'll need to find new templates. Maybe they're the same, or maybe not.

Played a few battles and yeah, it's definitely smaller. Someone reported something similar on the Russian Forum as well.

Every turret and hull has different unlock prices and ranks tied to those prices for the conversion. Let's take one parameter to work with - the damage parameter. Magnum M1 10/10 had 913-1844 damage. Mk5 Magnum has 895-1809 damage. Do you see how close it is? 3 upgrades sounds just right to get it where it was before. Next, Smoky. Smoky had a very wide gap from M1 to M2. M2 Smoky damage is 340-528. Mk6 Smoky has 340-528, just like M1 10/10. Next, Hunter. Hunter M1 10/10. It used 2294. Mk5 is 2250. 3 upgrades from that is close. Do you see how the conversions work now? -
I'd use it if I feel like it, but that would just garner more attention to my tank and I like to be sneaky.

Should Incendiary Mix and Corrosive Mix equal parameters?

It's no different to M4 Railgun with LCR. Lol Imagine wearing Zeus, and not Moss. -

It would barely affect you if you're past the rank that Mk6s unlock for the later turrets and your main combos are already upgraded. -

Yes, at the moment they are the same. That's what I mean by the update just coming out - the short run. It will become a problem later on, but not tomorrow or the 19th. Saying that, I do believe that it should have been Mk6 10/10. That's what I expected and I believe you shouldn't have the ability to micro upgrade it to Mk8 before reaching Marshal or buying an Mk7 kit for Tankoins. This is speaking from perspective of if I accepted the update as it is and everything that happened is intentional. @wolverine848 This is for you as well. The upside is that you can have some protection against the turret while you gather the crystals for the higher upgrades. You can get 25% protection against the turret for 115k crystals. yeah, it costs more that before, but you're a Legend and you can use that 25% protection to do something rather than having 0% protection and no crystals to purchase the M3 modules. After the conversion, I think ti would be more profitable to purchase the M3 module straight, which you can no longer do. Still, it has an upside to it. -

Yes, but you still need a lot of crystals to do the upgrades, and waiting as well. And if you want to skip, that's even more crystals. The update rolled out just earlier today, so it doesn't make sense to complain about seeing Mk7s since they were M2 10/10 before the update and no one said anything bad before the conversion. -

Look at the stats of your turrets and hulls. Notice that they have the same statistics as before. The parameters were converted to the new system and it is somewhat similar to before. Each turret and hull have different unlock ranks and prices. Because of this, the parameter statistics need to be tailored to those unlock ranks and prices. A good example of this is Freeze's conversion. Refer to the spreadsheet Trial and Error told you about.
