Nice article @Tidebreaker On my marshall account I just got MK7 hunter kit (Fujiyama I think) which already had a strong MK7-16 hornet. Using it without any alteration and it has been excellent with those 2 hulls, getting 500+ battle scores often (~8000 GS depending on modules). On this account with full garage, my primary turret is vulcan with defender and hornet or hunter. I always use rubberized bullet alteration. I think it is the perfect turret in the current meta. You definitely feel the drop in bullet speed for long distance shots or even trying to track a moving opponent at mid-range, but there are a huge number of places where the riccochet effect is incredibly useful; I think more so than with actual Riccochet turret because your shots go farther and faster and you don't have a limited number of shots in the tank barring overheating. For example, on Highways I can hit almost any where in the opponent base from any of the 3 top bridges. On Stadium you can shoot behind most of the walls from side platforms or from the ground up through the ramp openings. Going through any doorway being able to shoot people on the way in on either side or going up center ramps on Wolfenstein. Clearing out magnums camping on top of Cologne. (I think I could shoot myself on top of Cologne with bullets going all the way around.) On Noise, where vulcans often sit to left of top flag, being able to bounce off the walls and shoot down all 3 ramps to the lower level. On Hill, boucing shots off the sign to other side. Even a map like Forest with almost no straight walls you can use it on the ramps. What I love is that it allows you to reach opponents in places they would otherwise be safe. I hope at some point it becomes more generally available because I don't think it is fair for any turrets/hulls/alterations to permanently be exclusively available for money.

valid Kill still given if the enemy self-destructs
DaringDeer replied to sensei_tanker in Ideas and Suggestions
I think this should be implemented. I find it most frustrating when you can make a juggernaut self-destruct with their rockets and you don't receive credit for kill.- 87 replies

You can take or ignore the statistics I shared however you want. It is just data and you can interpret it a number of ways. My point is that strong legends are using vulcan more than any other turret because it is currently providing the best score. My interpretation, as well as my experience, is that it makes it the strongest turrent in the game for legend battles. Thanks to @Viking4s for helping to try to explain.

To compare pre- and post- vulcan buff usage (2/20/2020) see these stats. First is for post-buff (2/20 to today) and second is pre-buff (2/6 to 2/20). I reset collection of statistics on 2/6 so don't currently have any data before that date.
-
The data I collect is mostly from high efficiency players (used @AbsoluteZero biggest drugger thread top 1000 efficiency list), some friends, and some eSports players. They are generally all very strong players with mostly full garages. These players understand what equipment is comparitively strong and will use it and protect against it. My stats show Vulcan is the most used and best scoring turret across MM and pro battles. (I can't differentiate.) To @wolverine848, people are going to use the protections that make the most sense for the battle. Lots of Legends still use Thunder so it is going to be protected against often. I am just saying that it is not frequently used by the people I track. @Viking4s regarding Railgun, I think usage in my tracking is artificially high because of XP/BP battles. Also, my tracking uses snapshots of profiles and is dependent on the data there being accurate. Marcus told me recently that the time usage of drones is not comparable between drones. It may only track active and cooldown time of drones, not the time when a tanker is equipped with one. Given that, it is hard to compare any of the drones' usage or statistics.
-
I grab profile snapshots from almost 600 legends and am able to use that information to produce statistics like this. I know 2 of my 3 protections going into a battle currently are vulcan and fire.
-
Below are stats for last 2 weeks of high-level legends. Before the vulcan buff, it was consistently the least used turret for a year. It is now far and away the most common turret used and earns the highest experience/hour. Even when there are 6 opponents with 50% protection it is still playable which I don't think you can say about any other turret.

This is obnoxious putting every new item in the shop with no clear direction if/when items will be available for crystals or in XT container. It is plainly not fair to all players to have alterations, in particular, that are shop exclusives indefinitely. Allow it to be exclusive for a month or 3 but a timeframe should be clear for items to no longer be exclusive. (I did get vulcan bundle and can attest that it is not fair for my opponents.)

The numbers on the site haven't updated since at least 2am EST (21 hrs ago) so not 100% clear who has won. Stars should have accrued until server restart 2 hours ago. const YIN_STAR = '7459272'; const YANG_STAR = '7462062';

I don't find Autocannon to be strong to use or a worry to play against. Certainly, Cryo rounds are the most irritating smoky alteration to play against in cap games but I don't find I score well with it. I play almost exclusively now with incendiary rounds because it scores the best for me.
-
In non-JGR battles, I play with Hornet and Defender almost exclusively unless I run into a particularly tough battle. Vulcan is favorite at the moment with rubberized rounds Firebird with incendiary mix Magnum with RGC Smoky with incendiary rounds In JGR Viking, Smoky with incendiary rounds, Booster Viking, Hammer with slugger or adaptive reload, Booster Viking, Magnum with RGC, Booster Viking or Hornet, Firebird with incendiary mix, Defender Wasp, Freeze with shock freeze, Defender or Blaster

update New Vulcan, new garage in HTML5 and other changes
DaringDeer replied to Marcus in News Archive
Vulcan sound is much too loud. You have to turn down game sounds and end up missing the important things. -
The way it worked in the past is that once you buy something that could only be bought once, leave the shop, and come back, then the item will be removed. I think the warning is only relevant if you buy it and stay in shop and then buy it again.
-
The profiles have been all messed up since the Mk update. I just wiped out all my historical data and will start over collecting. In 2 weeks or so I will follow up.
-
One other thing I dislike in HTML5 vs Flash is that in HTML5, once battle is over, you can't see earlier chat or send messages.

Still so many without protections - Poorly managed update
DaringDeer replied to BigBigBalls in Archive
It is insane to still see this in Legend-level battles. -
I track profiles for ~600 high level legends and this is most common used in last 2 weeks. This isn't reliable info at the moment because of the missing profile data when the did the Mk update. I will follow-up when it is correct again.

For HTML5 version my biggest issues are: No clan tags shown and no ability to go to clan view of other players. Many places where user names are displayed, there are not options to view profile, add as friend, or view clan info (#1). Sometimes you are damaged or killed and nothing visibly touched you. This usually happens when hit by Railgun. (Can tell by looking at what killed me.) No ability to see gifts received or to send them. Lack of audio notification when receiving group or pro battle invitation. Battle pass and premium combo not available for purchase. It is only in Flash. I play on a large screen at 1440p and there is so much wasted space. All the small scrollable areas should expand on larger screens. The fact that you can't get a screenshot at end of battles with all players on it is particularly frustrating. I tried the HTML5 client out and graphics performance was better but had more lag issues than in browser version. Restarting it takes longer than just refreshing a browser tab. I'll take lower graphics settings with more reliability for now. It is just a packaged up version of Chromium so they should be able to add a refresh option so it doesn't need to be closed and reopened.

Not sure where to ask. Relevant thread was closed after I asked on it. Is the Firebird Demonic skin in the rotation in HTML5 version shop? I have gone through several rotations of the others I don't have (Rail Ultra, Wasp XT, Smoky XT) and that one never comes up. Tankoins are ready to be given to you if it shows up. ?
-
If you participated in or saw any of the Blitz Exotic tournament this past weekend (drones and overdrives active), the key player hull/turret combo was hornet with magnum RGC. It is an incredibly strong combination in the current state of the game.
-
Are you saying that for Booster, which is active for 3 seconds and has 3 second cooldown currently, that each activation of the drone will only count for 3 seconds toward the time shown for Booster on the profile? That seems impossible. You can only get maybe 2 or 3 activations per minute unless you die constantly. Or are you saying that profile is counting the full time that your DD is active (boosted and non-boosted part) which would be 30 seconds presuming you survive the whole time?
-
@Marcus Is the Firebird Demonic skin available in shop? I have gone through several rotations of the others I don't have (only 3) and that one never comes up.

Questions about battery consumption. As far as I know and according to the wiki, drones are all supposed to use 1 battery per minute. On my account I have used drones for 297 hours which is 17,820 minutes. I should have used roughly 17,820 batteries. I understand that is minimum. If I go into a battle with 6:01 left, I expect to use 7 batteries. So reasonable worst case is that I use 7 batteries for every 6 minutes I play. That is 17820 * (7/6) = 20,790 batteries used over lifetime of my account. Now, compare that to the 45,990 batteries my profile says I have used. You can see this across all users. For example, S-K-E-P-T-I-C is the biggest battery user according to @AbsoluteZero list. He has used drones for 375 hours which should translate to roughly 22,500 batteries consumed but his profile says he has used 193,645 batteries. That's 4.65 batteries per minute of drone usage. I keep track of user profiles in an application I have created. Between 6/28/2019 and 2/3/2020 I played using drones for 9,684.60 minutes and consumed 27,234 batteries. I looked at the 500 users (friends, high efficiency players, and some e-sports players) I have tracked over that period and the average battery usage is 3.58 per minute of drone use. Is there any explanation for this discrepancy? How can we have used so many batteries in that period of time? @Maf

The new HTML client would be better if it opened external links, like profiles, in the default browser rather than in another instance of itself (chromium).

There are a lot of players that care a lot about having everything. Maybe they have a full M4 garage or like to show off in parkour mode. Having the 100k coinbox paint I bet made the company a ton of money. You would not believe what some people spent to try to get it. The new paints and skins are going to keep coming because I bet they are the biggest source of profit behind battle passes and premium.
