  1. Why does the lobby (initial screen with your Tank) move around now? Is the camera guy supposed to be drunk and reeling from intoxication? Is it a slow moving earthquake? Maybe a psychedelic experience before going into battle? Or does the camera motion in the lobby prepare you for the sickening motion of the battle in HTML? If the panning effect actually gave you a different perspective of your tank it might be kinda OK, but all it does is seethe and has a seasick feeling to it. The motion is not needed and is completely unrealistic...it' just weird. Get rid of the motion in the initial garage screen.
  2. Didn't know this! Thanks! This has helped the interface a lot...I set it to the lowest setting and it made the obnoxious OD and radar much less intrusive. It also made the names on Tanks a better size. The one problem that I've found so far with making the interface smaller is in CP (there may be other problems, but I haven't played anything else yet). Even at 100% the CP point indicators are much much too small and instead of being static and filling up like they do in flash, they jump around from side to side when a team captures the point...they are very hard to follow even at full size interface, on the 75% setting they almost disappear. Make the CP point indicators at the top of the screen static, larger, and have a filling animation exactly like they are in Flash. At the very least larger.
  3. This would be wonderful if Tanki did or even could do this. Making two sets of interfaces n HTML does seem like quite a bit of work though.
  4. This is very true and there are many players that just don't get this...I can not understand why since it has been stated over and over and over. The Flash platform is being discontinued by Adobe, not Tanki, Adobe, the creators of Flash. Tanki MUST go to HTML...no choice for AP and the developers at Tanki. That being said, what I think many players mean is that they, like me, want Tanki to emulate what Tanki is in Flash but in HTML. They. like me, want THE SAME GAME, not a new one. As I've already said there was and is no need to redesign the battle interface, the garage interface, and the lobby interface. It blatantly demonstrates that Tanki will never re-create what they had in the Flash version because they think their HTML is a better iteration regardless of ten years developing a solid featured Flash version. The gods know that they have a huge problem of getting the actual mechanics and physics playable, why add to this tremendous problem by needlessly making new, less featured, more inconvenient, graphically challenged, inferior interfaces? Why? Because is is what this development team does...change for change sake. Almost all the criticisms I read on this thread have to do with movement of the cameras and physics with the majority of complaints being the about the interfaces. All Tanki needs to make it closer to "awesome" is copy the interfaces in Flash...in other words make in HTML the features/graphics/fonts/icons/colors/navigation the same as they are in Flash. That is what the vast majority of players want. Take what Flash is like and through the magic and skill of the coders put it into HTML...they have the Flash example at their finger tips, now make it HTML. Stop change for change sake.
  5. I hate to say this since is is pretty negative and I do appreciate Tanki at least going through the motions of listening to feedback, but after looking at the multitude of things wrong with HTML, compounded by the fact that the Flash version template was right there in their offices to copy or at least emulate, I don't think it is possible to make HTML moderately playable much less awesome. What I truly can't understand is why Tanki didn't just copy what they had created over ten years of development...why make a new game interface, a new garage interface, and a new lobby interface? Why not copy what was already in place and working well. So very many features have been done away with or made difficult to access. Movement in HTML is a super big problem and that alone is enough to make HTML much less than Flash, but add all the poorly conceived changes to the interfaces and Tanki has a train wreck on their hands. Judging by past half-measures/repairs/fixes/band-aids/updates and the speed at which they are implemented, I think HTML is a goner. I think Tanki's demise will follow closely on the heels of the end of Flash. This HTML version of Tanki was created by the same team that feels MatchMaking is a good idea. Is there really any hope for HTML?
  6. improved above, current configuration below for comparison The medium gray and light green might be nice for upholstery, but they are poor contrast for legibility. Even the white doesn't contrast with the med gray enough. The increased size improves this greatly as shown in my mock-up example. Also a small thing but the "Don't bite off more than you can chew" comment is just stupid and condescending while not being funny or even cute (as long as you are adjusting code ? )
  7. It actually has this it is just sooooooo small like all the other fonts it is easy to miss. It's in the middle at the top by the score, but the icons are about as big as this "o"...yep, super tiny.
  8. A few in no particular order: - Can't access mission status during battle...am I supposed to get DA or DD? Very inconvenient. - Difficult to see CP points fill up, especially blue...more contrast is needed - If you are on red it is harder to determine the blue enemy because the the red/black health bar...an almost dead teammate looks like a blue...contrasting colors like in Flash would be better - Hard to tell your own health in red since the dark gray fades into the paint color...contrasting red would be better - Font too small on kill board...can't see icons or read stats - Font in garage is much too small....lots of unused space, why such micro-fonts? Icons also too small. (hull/turret icons, paint pics, etc) Almost impossible to read upgrade prices...it's like a 6 point Ariel. Upgrade stats difficult to read also. Garage is unpleasant and cumbersome to navigate. - From "Missions" screen I'd like to be able to see my name, rank, if I have Premium or not, and how many stars I have accumulated...just like in Flash - Can't copy names to clipboard from real-time action menu/tab menu/who-did-what-menu - In game chat is distracting. it should not disappear so quickly. Best would be an on/off option in settings. - Get rid of the "red team captured point B" and make the point icons in the center (point A, B, C, etc) larger so they can be seen more easily - Rank indicators are too small on tab menu...actually all the fonts are too small - HTML doesn't show crystal total when in battle...minor but still a nice feature of flash - Mk display in garage for individual turrets/hulls only works for Mk1 why not display MU level for Mk2-Mk7? (maybe this was just a glitch?) - Battle List needs to have the ability to make it default instead of going to lobby after exiting a battle...too much time to load battle list - Get rid of the auto-resort for daily missions. After you complete a mission just let that space be where it is instead of snap shifting the remaining missions to the left...makes it easy to make mistakes like accidentally clicking "change mission" - Battles still end to abruptly and jarringly...it would be nice to linger in the battle scene or a welcome substitute would be to allow chat after the battle while still looking at the kill or score board - Movement has improved but still causes slight nausea or dizziness...kind of like slight seasickness or car sickness. Seems to cause much quicker eye fatigue. - The movement after being killed is bad. The camera follows your back end being raised quickly and dropped...seasick move - The lobby is inconvenient with too many fiddly clicks. The flash lobby is highly superior. If you are looking at hulls/turrets/etc you are six clicks and all their loading times away from a battle queue if you check your daily missions...way too fiddly. - Why does the lobby now seethe like you are on are on a rolling sea...stupid, pointless, unrealistic...seasick move - Personally I think the radar is pointless at best and distracting at worst (make it an off/on option in settings) - The OD display is much too large - The who-did-what-to-who display is now too large (make it an off/on option in settings) - The in-battle chat font is now too large...unless it becomes and option to turn on and off in settings. - If the outlines of enemies behind walls are still part of HTML, I would prefer to see them gone. The minimal ability to hide behind a wall is one of the few strategic features left in Tanki - Firebird and Freeze seem to only damage one tank at a time, not neighboring tanks. I get about half the score in HTML as Flash...every time. - Names above tanks went from microscopic to gigantic. Names have greater visibility now than the tank itself. You have defined the spectrum now adjust the font to something in the middle. There are many more problems that make HTML less than Flash. Overall movement and visibility are the biggest problems. Visibility should be an easy fix...more color contrast, larger fonts. The third big problem is the lobby/garage interface...why not emulate what you developed over the last 10 years in flash...why re-invent the wheel?

    HTML5 TO Discussion

OMG the lobby and garage in HTML5 are so inconvenient and fiddly! Very poorly conceived and laid out.
  10. Joeguy

    What is happening?

HTML is a must do...but why make the interface so terrible? Everything is many more clicks (with short waits) away. I find the lobby very inconvenient to glean information or navigate anywhere without fiddle fiddle fiddle. The flash lobby was well laid out and everything was convenient. The garage is also poorly laid out in HTML...more click click click and wait wait wait. It reminds me of the beginning days of the internet (well, mid 90s inet) when everything was click then wait for it to load. Plus it is VERY HARD TO SEE anything because fonts are so friggin' small and contrast is minimal. Let us access all information about our equipment and stats easily. Put Daily Mission access back in the battle. Let us see our own crystal balance during a battle. There are so many fiddly little things wrong with the interface in HTML and there is no excuse for Tanki to have done this other than poor design or just plain laziness. Emulate what you had developed over ten years of flash...why reinvent the wheel? HTML is a must but Tanki could make it WAY less painful by making lobby and garage as convenient as Flash.
  11. Wow, what a total about-face for Vulcan. Yesterday it was mostly only good as a long range turret...kind of an in-your-face sniper (Shaft)...but the other long range turrets were better for the most part. Today it is dominant in mid-range and competitive with the melee turrets (not quite as quick as Isida or Firebird, but close). It's trash for long range now. It seems like Vulcan spins up almost as fast as Railgun's shot now. I used to love slaughtering with Vulcan, but I kinda hate to see them make a come back since they were always annoying to be on the receiving end of the bullet barrage. Seems like Tanki is slowly trying to make everything kill faster and die faster. I guess ADHD kids send in more money
  12. Change for change sake...keep up the churn to keep the dollars rolling in. A couple of years ago Tanki gut Vulcan into oblivion. Few players use it anymore because of the horrible nerfings Vulcan took. It is now the least used turret (kinda hard to believe, but Tanki has the stats) so Tanki over-buffs it so everybody and their dog will be using Vulcan...let the MUs begin....and the protection modules with their MUs...alterations, kits and Tanki is bringing in the cheddar. After some time elapses, the incoming cash will slow down and Vulcan will be determined to be a "bit too OP" so it will have to be "balanced". It's the same exact nerf/buff cycle over and over again..the churn
  13. You are probably right. It was kind of 420 out last night. That being said, I do get miffed at the seemingly lackadaisical attitude of the devs...if it's not a way to generate more income, it doesn't matter.

Let's discuss glaring errors in Tanki

Try not Touchdown...ooops What about Homerun! Or Yatzee! Or Cowabunga! Or even, GOAL!
  15. Joeguy

    TRY to fix TOUCHDOWN

I usually don't use sound while playing Tanki. Previously the sounds had some strategic value but they became overused and now just make a silly and pointless cacophony. Sound effects are just one more thing Tanki has turned into trash in the past couple of years. Anyway, I turned on the sound today to listen for the gold box siren as I was playing Rugby in the lower ranks. When someone scores a goal, there is an obnoxious voice-over that yells "TOUCHDOWN!" in a tacky trite video game voice (sounds like the same guy that always yells "Triple Kill" endlessly in some million other tired shooter games). This struck me as very odd since when a goal is made in Rugby it is called a "try" not a "touchdown". "Touchdowns" are scores in American gridiron football...not Rugby. American football = touchdowns Rugby = tries I'm really glad I don't listen to Tanki, especially with huge glaring mistakes like this.
  16. The problem is that there are now 98 different kits in some sort of rotation excluding Mk rating...in other words there are 98 Mk7 kits, 98 Mk6 kits, etc. Only one or maybe two kits sold for crystals show up at a time and they only show up for twelve hours. That makes the chances of hitting the right kit at the right time very small...even if you play every day. We don't have MU tables yet for the new Mk system so it is still hard to tell, but from prices from the garage, it looks like you get a 15% reduction in the price of a kit from the price you would pay for the equipment individually...nice, but not an incredible savings. The real value of a kit, especially for the M7, is that they unlock equipment two ranks early (and those are very long ranks). In the old M system kits were up for about a week at a time. If you hadn't seen a kit for a couple of months, you knew it was coming around again pretty soon and could prepare. As it is now it is just impossible to tell when or even if you will ever see the kit you want...it could literally take years if you miss it once or twice because of the twelve hour thing. It will certainly be worth trying to buy your kit, but it's not as easy or dependable as it was before this update. In the lower ranks, with the small savings and the easier rank-up times, kits will be even less important. I think most players will just wait and buy the equipment they want on sale. I'm sure they will take advantage of any kit they want if it comes up in rotation and they happen to have the crystals and the proper rank, but it will mostly be a matter of luck. Kits are not gone, they are just much more inaccessible to Freebie players. Buyers will have access to all the kits at all ranks and can purchase one at any time with Tankoins. They too might get lucky (there are more Tankoin kits each 12 hour period so chances are better) and catch a 40% discount on their kit, but they have to be in the right place at the right time aslo. My guess is that since they sent in money anyway, they will just buy the kit they want instead of waiting to maybe catch a discount. It all boils down to people with enough Tankoins (that would be Buyers) will have the early unlocked kits and it will be the rare Freebie that is able to take advantage of the early unlock...not impossible, but very unusual...certainly not nearly as easy as the previous system.

    micro-upgrades in the Mk system

Is there any way to find the cost of micro-upgrades in the Mk1-7 system? The Wiki only has the old M0-M3 system. I can't find any information other than the cost of the very next upgrade from the upgrade pane itself...nothing further other than extrapolating the fully MUed cost.
  18. Buying kits for Freebie players is pretty much over. It can technically be done...you can still buy a kit for crystals, but it is very very very hard to be on the right day in the right time slot with enough crystals and the proper rank to buy what you actually want...AND if you were to hit the golden combination of time/crystals/rank, you only save 15%! You can buy kits for Tankioins, but it seems to me that a player will rank too high before saving enough Tankoins...and you still have to face the problem of right day and time. Ya wanna kit...buy one with cash, or buy Tankoins...that's pretty much it now. The ringing of product kits' death knell lingers even now as many a hopeful player still anticipates buying their shiny new killer kit...RIP kits, many of us haven't even realized you're friggin' dead.

How long before this game's demise?

I don't think the game will die at all. Buyers that have invested so much money and spent so much time developing a full garage will continue as long as possible. Tanki may have to do some adjustments as the player base diminishes, like 6 vs 6 or much lower criterion for MM to generate a game in off hours, but Tanki will keep chugging along. Hell, they have it in their power to just dump toxic Matchmaking, If they did that, I bet their numbers would go up dramatically. MM is the limiting factor for a small player base...just like what's about to happen to the Latin servers. MM killed the 10K 15K player Latin community (now it's like 450 players on at peak times). If Tanki ha stopped MM, the Latin servers would still be viable. They couldn't stop MM because they know if they did a huge percentage of EU players would just play on Latin servers. But now all players are about to be on EU servers, there would be no problem killing MM. They won't of course until players at peak times get to a critically low number (my guess would be 3-4 thousand) since MM seems to be PonyTailBoy's pet project. The only real threat to Tanki is if AP thinks they have a new project that will make them more money...kinda like that KingKiller or whatever Fortnite clone it is they are working on.

★ Tanki Online Wiki Hub ★

When will the Micro-Upgrades pages be updated to the new Mk system? It would be very handy information. Is there anywhere I can fin this new upgrading scale? It's kind of essential information. ?
  21. Now, now...you could also buy two more stars and have 20 Tankoins leftover!

Episode 238 of the V-LOG is live!

Wow, they keep cutting back on rewards for the Freebie players in the Challenges. First they cut from 3000 crystals to 2500 cry. This month they cut supplies from 30 boxes in a tier to 15 boxes. I think only buyers of passes are bothering with these Challenges. Tanki sure is cutthroat when it comes to squeezing to get players to buy....it makes my stubborn streak come out and refuse to ever send them a penny where I normally would have had I not felt coerced or forced.
  23. Joeguy

More players coming to Tanki EU!

Yeah, before MM the Latin servers were very good...even for a short while afterwards, but the difficulty of getting into a battle or completing missions discouraged most of the players...thousands of them actually. It's just a shame that Tanki forced MM or didn't even try to alter MM to fit a smaller player base...like 6 or even 4 players per side. Instead they killed a thriving community. I think it very aptly demonstrates Tanki narrow, shortsightedness. They improved TankiX out of business. It's "Damn the torpedoes...full speed ahead!" type of mentality.
  24. I think the heyday of OP kits is a thing of the past. At this point it looks to me like kits don't unlock early and certainly don't have much discount (they may do big sales in the future....50% on a kit would be huge). Anyway, here is the MK6 Simoom kit which would have been an M2 kit previously. I got this from my higher account that I don't use much any more. Simoom MK6 110500 Thunder 81800 Dictator 100000 Grizzly Module 292300 Total for all three under M2 pricing structure 298000 New full price for Thunder-Dictator-Grizzly sold as a kit (based on the 15% off) - 44700 15% discount 253300 Simoom on sale for crystals in shop (on my account) OK, saving 44700 crystals is a lot of crystals, but is it worth waiting for the specific kit you ar looking for. Remember ;now you have to be in the right place at the right time. They ar only up for twelve hours and there are dozens of kits in the rotation. Plus, the biggest reason for me buying kits was the early unlock...now that seems to be gone in the MK system. I think for most Freebie players the kits are going to be a happy coincidence. I doubt I will wait around for who knows how long waiting to catch the kit I want. I will just pay a bit more and buy the items separately Buyers on the other hand get a 40% discount when purchased with Tankoins...maybe worth it, but they still have the "right lace at the right time" problem the Freebies have. My guess is that they too will tire of waiting around and just buy the kit they want without a discount or buy the items separately...after all it's only money. The important part of this is it looks like the exaggerated prices of old kits (paint) are over...a kit now seems to be a package of equipment that you can buy for about the same price as it would be sold for separately (when the kit is not on sale). When all the dust settles and ranks/MKs get themselves sorted and ranked up to where they should be, I don't think we will see the brutalization we use to see from outrageously early unlocked kits. In fact I think kits won't have much to do with the game anymore at all...even from the Buyers. Ultimately this should be a step in the right direction!

More players coming to Tanki EU!

What's NA/LATAM ??/LatinAmerica I think all the players on the ES servers are probably pretty stoked since their wait times are going to decrease dramatically and they will be able to complete missions almost at will. Right now if you get a JGR, RGB, ASL, or a Siege mission in off hours, you just about can't do them unless you are willing to spend hours. It's awful trying to play on the ES servers in any but the very peak times...and even then it's wait, wait, wait. The ES players should be very happy campers (well hopefully not all campers, but happy none the less).
