Yeah, right, crucial....like spending coding time making the "Remember Me" box a double click to login initially, then single click only if you get dumped from a battle (much too frequent) which results in click, double click..it's un-checked, no damn it it's checked..single click...still checked...click again, ok now it is ok. It's a ridiculous over complication of an extraordinarily simple function. Empty box by default, one click to activate the "remember me" function just like it was in flash. But someone at Tanki spent hours coding an inferior and frustrating feature. Or maybe the time spent redesigning the mines into pies! ...and all the same color pies whether allies or enemies dropped the pie, ?? Then the time to change it back to what it was before. Crucial Pie The truly bizarre thing is that gifts are another possible way for Tanki to make money, but they are letting it slide for much less fun and even less lucrative, truly pointless features and updates.

The "Remember Me" box on the log in screen now requires a double click to un-check the box. Previously it was only one click...and in Flash (superior) the box was empty by default and you had to click/check to have your player name remembered. The default should be like it was in flash...empty box and change user name every log in unless checked to activate the "remember" function. This is because there are probably way more players that use alt accounts in every gaming session than ones that use only one account. It is VERY annoying when you forget to click the current default box and disable the "remember" function...or you do click to disable and the system glitches and doesn't acknowledge your choice. You finish with one account, refresh the browser and log in with an alt account...oh, wait, damn it, the flippin' "Remember" kept my other account logged in...ratz...gotta log out and log back in again. Three or four minutes of pointless waiting is engendered. It's not earth shakingly inconvenient, but it would probably serve more players better if it were blank by default.

Will the lucky few winners be posted or will there just be some sort of announcement when prizes/gifts are eventually distributed? ...or maybe just plain old, nothing?

Wow! ? I opened all my Ultra-Containers!!! And I got Ultra-Mines! (same as regular mines, but they are Ultra...just like the containers)

A very nice and warm video...Thank you. And a joyous, healthy, and prosperous New Year to all. It's hard to be angry about all the toxic changes done by Tanki when some of the staff is humanized and their faces are connected to specific jobs at Tanki. The changes are still just as toxic and hated, but the perpetrators are just people like everyone else. It's easy to rant at an inanimate game, especially when the only input device available for that game is this forum. Even with all the great posters here, there is still a kind of disconnect with this sort of message board type of interaction. The video of the staff did more to calm my usual indignation and frustration with the game than almost anything I can remember...Tanki's 11th birthday filled me with warm fuzzies too because of Tanki's generosity on that occasion. ???? So, again, thank you for the lovely video Tanki staff. It was greatly appreciated. ????

Every time there is an event map and the player count goes above 8000 things start to go fluky. This has happened in at least the last seven or eight events. It is every single time. Trouble logging in, lots of crashes, trouble in the shop, garage, and showcase. The devs have to know this is going to happen but they either can't fix their dime store coding or they just don't care since lots of players can log on anyway and will just put up with the inconvenience of logging in and out almost constantly.

Maybe I'm just greedy. But if I ran a company like Tanki, and all my products were essentially free to produce (pixels and code), I would give the people that participate in my game a gift at Christmas/New Year. Nothing economically detrimental, but something exactly like the list of prizes they are giving to a few random players that participate in this contest...but instead of just a handful (22 prizes so probably 22 recipients), everyone that sends a Christmas wish for TO...everyone...it's Christmas. Who else but Tanki can be so irritating by giving stuff away for free? Astounding.
-
You can send your wish until the 2nd of January, 12:00 UTC. On the 3rd January, we will give away the following prizes between all those who participated, with a little help from a randomizer. So does this mean only a handful of participants (like 22) will get a prize or does it mean that if you participate you will get a prize. I do hope it is the later seeing it is Christmas. The wording is quite ambiguous...between is incorrect ("between" is for two, "among" is more than two...grammar police)

That is a great statistic. I would really like to know that. Where did you find it or how did you calculate it? I've tried to estimate that figure by extrapolating from the 5 day graph that Tanki has, but it's pretty rough and barley passes as an educated guess. Thanks :) PS I tried to PM you. Did you know you can't receive PMs?
-
That is a great statistic. How did you calculate it or where did you find it...expiring minds wish to know :) Hey! That's me!!! I even have a forum demerit for insulting the devs! I revel in my poison. ? ? ?

Can Tanki ever improve anything? This new forum layout is annoying. Of course it is still usable, but not as good as before. And this is to accommodate pointless statistics and place redundant ads that also have no real purpose. If Tanki was going to sell advertising space to generate revenue for themselves it would be fine, but what the hell do we need to see the same old tired Tanki ads for?...we see them everywhere already...main front page, lobby, and intermittently elsewhere. Updated rant: Well it looks like the OCD aggravating forum layout was just a glitch. The right side pane seems to only be for the Forum Homepage which is completely fine and possibly even helpful with the list of helpers online and other possible bits of pertinent information. So it looks like I was wrong, Tanki seems to have miraculously improved something with an update...my bad. ?

Thank god it's over. Will the next experiment be 30 second battles? Or maybe all controls disabled other than backwards? Or all battles are two hours long (imagine the size of the battle fund guys...wow what a plus!) Or even better, all Tanki scores and rewards will be based on your Agario scores with no Tank interaction at all! (Hey devs, think of all the money you'd save on server time!!!)

I think your original post was well thought out and well written. I didn't mean to slight it in any way other than all the posts that give positive feedback seem to sort of go against the horrid reality of this experiment. If we had to endure facets of this farce in an ongoing basis, I think a lot of players would just quit...a lot. I hate to see the devs encouraged in their foolishness by any compromise in terms of acceptance of their misguided experiment. One can find a silver lining in anything...anything at all and I believe any of the positive aspects of this experiment are exactly that...a silver lining in a thunder storm...it's still a thunder storm. I certainly want none of this experiment in the game with the exception of the new MM maps (about time) and I cringe when posters give the devs fodder for changing things in the future. I think we all tend to try and see the good in all things, but I also think in a situation like this finding good in this experiment may only help bring negative changes into the game on an ongoing basis. I could tell from your well written post that you don't actually like the experiment either and I think the majority of posters with positive feedback don't really care for the exp overall...how could they possibly? I've seen what Tanki has done in the past with spin and stretching things to suit their agenda and I fear that some things said here could be used to justify more toxic change to the game.

While constructive feedback may seem valuable on the surface, the feedback, no matter how well-intentioned or detailed, is pointless. One can find good in anything if you try hard enough..."you just had both of your hands amputated, but hey, think of the money you will save on gloves and manicures!". The reality is that this experiment is a total unmitigated flop and is best left to become a distant memory filed in the "plans gone awry" folder with the Tanki historians of the Wiki. The 16vs16 is a complete disaster that Tanki's dime store coding can't accommodate. It boggles the mind to think that they would even try something as silly as this when they have had trouble keeping the game running smoothly with even 8vs8. Unless Tanki wants to cut off another huge hunk of the remaining player base, this 16vs16 thing is for the scrap heap. The game doesn't work with 16vs16 on many many many players computers (maybe everyone's...dunno) Doesn't matter how you "adjust" maps, modes, battle times, missions, whatever, the game doesn't work with 16vs16. With the ridiculous 16vs16 it crashes every couple of games. The waiting times have been multiplied by at least three if not four or five. The lag is horrible. I played for an hour and counted how much time i actually got to play...11 minutes in more than an hour. I tried again later in the week and it was even worse. With this experiment the vast majority of your time is spend waiting and waiting, logging in, re-logging in and waiting. The frustration level is massive...who's going to put up with that on a long term basis? I look forward to tomorrow when I can play Tanki again.
-
Dang, Tanki sure isn't shy about asking high prices for their pixels. $299.99 for 450 ult-containers....yikes! Three hundred bucks!!! I must be in some sort of disconnect, but sending in $300 for a video game? And for a chance at getting the new hull a couple of weeks (maybe less) early. Sure you are certain to get lots of stuff in 450 containers...like tons of stuff, but $300? I wonder how many mines and DA you'd end up with...my luck I'd pay $300 and get 56,250 mines. ?
-
Since it's worthless to even try playing Tanki with this ridiculous experiment going on, so this time I don't give a rip about the unwanted extra XP. I really would like to play, but it's just too frustrating with all the crashes, long waits, and the horrific lag...oh yeah, and the whole 16vs16 thing on medium maps is just awful anyway....just a complete waste of time to even try playing. Eagerly awaiting the 16th when this stupidity is finished. Good luck to all playing this weekend, have fun an may you get what you want in the first Ultra container you open (no mines).
-
The lag and unresponsiveness of the game is so bad with 16vs16 that it makes it too frustrating to play. I try, it's awful, I quit, angry. I eagerly await Dec 16th and hope to hell this is the last moronic experiment that Tanki rolls out.

Man, i wish I could play Tanki again.

The LAG! OMG the LAG. I played Tanki a little more than one hour today. It was very frustrating and no fun at all because of the horrendous waiting times to actually get into a battle, the multitude of crashes, and the LAG. I haven't played but for the first day of this ridiculous experiment because the game was so unresponsive that first day. I just assumed that the unresponsiveness and lag would continue because of the immense number of players that Tanki's dime store programming must keep track of in each battle. Why in the world would Tanki devs think that their game could accommodate 16vs16 when it has lots of difficulty dealing with only 8vs8? Anyway, I soldiered on because I wanted to know just how bad it really was. I put a stop watch on the amount of time I was actually in battle,...spawned in and able to shoot and drive. I was in a majority of partial battles...either spawning in well past half way finished (thanks MM) or the battle crashed and I logged back in to complete the battle. Quite a few battles crashed and by the time I could log back in I was back in the lobby. In an hour of Tanki I got into ONE potentially complete 6:20 minute battle from start to finish...sadly it ended by score with about 2 minutes left on the clock. This is shocking but in 62 minutes of Tanki, (no dawdling and trying to get into TDM battles as quickly as I could) I was in a battle and playing a tad less than 11 minutes. 11 minutes out of 62 minutes!!!! And there was massive lag on the lowest graphic settings! This experiment in an abject failure. It was doomed from the first day. Based on past performance it's just obvious that the game can't support 16vs16...impossible! Watch the number of players drop like a rock from this point on now that the parity event is over. Tanki...your player base wants to play Tanki, not keep logging in for long waiting times and queues along with outrageous lag.

This event mode is great, but the players playing it are not. They are hack and bash MM robots only used to insipid Agario like luck/drug/OD MM style play. In a battle that requires strategy and some finesse, they are clueless and completely lost. These new players to strategy (let's call them M&Ms) could learn, improve, and would probably love playing a real tank game, but they can't do much in just two days. This mode alone, if implemented on a long term basis, might turn Tanki around and bring back some of the old players and maybe even attract new players. This event mode points out just how terrible and insipid Neo-Tanki and it's foul MatchMaking style game-play has become over the years. It's no wonder Tanki has lost hundreds of thousands of players with the new childish MM style of game-play. If this event mode can be used for a couple of days, why not incorporate it or something similar to it into the game in an ongoing basis. Parity between players without all the magic foo-farah of Neo-Tanki makes for a great game. There just must be some way to have our current style MM Tanki along with some more serious and strategic version coexisting. It has been fun with the Hopper event, the Juggernaut event, and now this XP event, but events are not long enough to hone the skills needed for real enjoyment. And each event require a somewhat different skill set along with more time to develop those skills. An event every few weeks is better than nothing, but it isn't nearly enough to satisfy that Real Tanki urge. Please please please incorporate something similar to these event modes (some kind of parity mode) into the normal everyday Tanki...make it part of the mission and MM roster. I believe it would go a long way to making Tanki a great game again. There has to be some way to structure it that would even make Tanki more money. I miss this type of game-play so much. It is so much better, it makes playing normal MM trash battles almost painful...especially with this 16vs16 lunacy.

Well, I'm done for today at least. It's just crash after crash. I get killed and don't re-spawn, then the game times me out. This happens over and over. There is no point in even trying to play. Good job Tanki!

So far this experiment is TERRIBLE. The lag is fierce. It takes much much longer to get into a battle....much longer waiting times. It's taking twice as long to load the battle once MM assigns you to a particular battle and then it takes a very long time to actually spawn into the battle you've been waiting to get into. Once you're in, it lags like crazy even on the lowest graphics setting. I'm also getting way more total crashes where you have to log back in again...you always lose your OD charge when this happens and frequently you even lose the entire battle. You end up just returning to the lobby with no battle fund, or mission advancement...all you get is the unwanted XP and lots of wasted time. I played for a few hours today and an inordinate amount of time was sitting around "loading" or other fussing about trying to get into battles instead of playing the game...very frustrating. I didn't actually time it but it seems like more than half of my time was spent trying to get into laggy battles. The 16vs16 thing is awful...it's so damn crowded on all abut the really huge maps. It's just not even close to fun in the low ranks and the problems in higher ranks are amplified by the ridiculously overcrowded battles. As soon as you spawn, you're dead unless you are on a team that somehow got the upper hand then you are doing nothing but spawn killing....there is no battle...it just slaughter. Why even bother with a battle? Just click an "outcome" button to tell you if you win or lose and your reward. This would be the same result, just as much fun, but with much time saved. The previous experiment wasn't disliked because of the 6vs6 as you imply. It was hated because battle times were reduced to almost nothing (5 minutes, but you usually only saw 3 minutes of battle by the time you loaded). The increased armor and increased damage for some turrets was also dislike by many players. Removal of the larger maps was also disliked. I would venture to say that most players liked the 6vs6. I think most players are going to dislike the 12vs12...I know I already hate it and it's just the first day. I predict a significant drop in player numbers in the next couple of weeks. I know I'm not going to be playing nearly as much...a mission or two on a couple of different accounts and I'm done. Too much waiting for overcrowded laggy battles just to get spawn killed...nah, not for me thanks. It's even worse!...16vs16. I misread and didn't count within battles. Thanks for the heads up Wolverine! 16vs16....what a ludicrous idea...geez.?

This has always been one of my biggest complaints about Tanki. They will never just tell the truth. It's always some sort of tortured rationalization or an outrageous spin...even when there is no reason for spin!...it's like it's in their corporate nature. If they were honest and forthright with some integrity and decent ethics, I'm sure their company would be in a much better position right now. As it is, anything that they say is subject to scrutiny and doubt...they just have zero credibility and this little blurb from the V-Log is a classic example...you hit it right on the head.
