Actually, it's quite a nice interface update. it's annoying when you shoot an enemy and don't know whether or not they have defender active. Also, things like spawn protection indicators and overdrive indicators were requested by players for a LONG time, so that's a bunch of completed ideas right there.

What does this have to do with Russian players? You have no way to be sure where the enemy players are from. Also, GS is just one of the factors taken into account in MM balancing. A player could have a low GS, but enough skills to be equivalent to one with higher GS, so their overall K/D, W/L ratio and other stats will affect their strength when being put into teams. And sometimes you just get unlucky and lose even while having an overall gear advantage.

Yes. Just don't look at the bushes ?
-
Yes, they all work in a radius. Only exceptions are Hornet and Viking, where an effect radius is not applicable.

Topic moved from game discussion, by the way.

Technology is advancing at a rapid pace, and in the past century dozens of professions became obsolete due to technological development. This is normal, and there is no way to avoid it. People losing jobs is a valid issue, but i don't think it's enough to counter the benefits of something like reducing coal usage.
-
That was just a generalisation. But the idea of updates generally makes people interested in the game and by coming back after a break (upon seeing an update and getting interested) some of them will stay a bit longer to play. Doesn't work that was for everyone, but in general it's proven that any sort of change in games gives a boost to activity.

Obviously neither of us have the actual data so we can only speculate, but it's far more likely that many people buying small amounts at a time (like 1 day premium, a few gold boxes, small tankoin packs), actually generate much more revenue than individual big buyers who go all out. Doing exactly what the players ask for would very quickly ruin the game due to improper allocation of resources. This exact point is explained in much more detail in the topic linked in the post you quoted. You're exactly right. The Flash game would die regardless of whether the updates were good or bad, which is why developers are migrating to HTML5. As for eSports - I think the interest in it became too low to support any meaningful type of tournament. SLTV was too expensive to maintain. Neither of us have no data to back up this claim. As far as numbers go - ANY update that changes the game ends up getting more players to come online than no update at all.
-
Why not? We all spend money on unnecessary things that we enjoy, so if you spent $5 on this game and bought something you really enjoyed (like the gold tier challenge rewards), then I see no issue with that. Besides, money is what keeps this project going. Supporting it with a small donation is the most reasonable thing you could do. Tanki in particular may not have the most reasonable prices, but buying games in general can be absolutely worth it. The $30 I spent on Minecraft provided me with thousands of hours of entertainment, and so did the various amounts I spent on games like GTA V, Portal, Half Life, Subnautica, etc., albeit to a lesser extent. Way better than spending it on something like an overpriced phone case. This is simply not true. Any update brings inactive players back into the game, regardless of how much they love or hate it, simply because it's something new that they can try and test. The worst periods for this game have always been times without any updates, because that's when people simply lose interest and gradually stop playing, without proudly announcing it to anyone. Anyway, a lot of these points have been explained in more detail in this topic: Livestream summary

@fishFAST I really hope you're trolling with your comments here. If you are, then please stop — malicious trolling is not allowed on the forum. If you're not, then I'll just say this. Even if the whole climate change thing isn't as dramatic as experts say it is, what's wrong with still taking action to reduce emissions and move to cleaner energy nonetheless?

I like it when I can see the whole sphere. Looks pretty cool, imho. Also fun when you're able to "attach" to it from the bottom ?
-
It doesn't have to be exactly as I suggested. Maybe instead of only ignoring the first layer of protection, it would ignore two layers. Or it would 100% ignore the first, but only 50% for the second. As long as the concept itself gets implemented, the specific values can be adjusted to fit balance.
-
Not really. It will be only 50%. Right now if I activate OD, I'm able to one-shot a Viking that's using DA and also has 50% protection (i.e. deal the full 3000 damage of a DD shot). If my nerf gets implemented, I will only deal 1500 damage because only the module will block my damage, therefore requiring two shots to kill. Now, if the tank has spawn protection AND is inside a Titan's dome, AND has DA AND a module then I will deal around 2% of the normal damage (because the dome gives 90% protection), which is 50 times less effective than the current OD. But such a combination is rare and brief, so I don't think it would hinder Hornet OD's performance more than it deserves.
-
What I suggested was to make it ignore only one strongest protection. In order from strongest to weakest: spawn protection, Titan dome, DA, module. So if a tank just spawned and used DA, you'll be able to ignore spawn protection, but not the DA. Once spawn protection ends, you will ignore the DA.
-
Mostly to increase the splash damage when I'm shooting groups of enemies. Also to help me deal with heavy hulls. For some reason I don't like using defender because Defender is simply OP, while Booster gives that awesome satisfaction of being able to one-shot a viking with DA or 50% protection. Or getting 7 kills with one shot under a gold box. For the record - I'm not defending Hornet's OD. I agree that it's OP and I suggested ways to nerf it in multiple places.

Maps in Tanki are rather small, and there aren't that many of them. You just need to play a few games on each one, and after a while you won't only memorise the layout, but will be able to drive across the whole map backwards (which is actually a very useful skill in CTF) ?
-
Titan is a bit complex because it has multiple benefits and disadvantages. Yes, it can be overcome by Wasp, Hornet, Hunter, Mammoth and other Titans, but: It provides protection for potentially the whole team, extremely powerful in modes like ASL and SGE It's one of the longest lasting overdrives It has a fast recharge rate It continues working for the benefit of your team even if you die. Hell, in the recent solo juggernaut event, I placed the dome right after I killed juggernaut and had 10 seconds of 95% protection when I spawned as juggernaut. It can counter Wasps and other Titans So I think overall it's quite fair.
-
I don't know about others, but I mostly play Hornet Magnum with Booster, and getting OD means going in the middle of the enemy base and shooting as many people as possible. And I do find that my low health and weight means that my biggest issue is when enemies start shooting me and knocking me around.
-
The best defence against a Hornet is attack. If you react fast enough, you may be able to kill it before it deals much damage. Doesn't really work though if it's using Defender, or is camping on the other side of the map.

I feel like you completely missed the point of this topic :Р This has nothing to do with COVID-19 - I posted this topic WAY before that was a thing. This is just discussing a hypothetical (and completely unrealistic) scenario where every single person above a certain age suddenly disappears in one moment. Let's say that age is 12. So imagine a world populated entirely by a few hundred million children (infants, babies, toddlers), the oldest of whom are 12 years old. They have very little idea about how society works. They don't know how to run the economy, how to maintain infrastructure, how to go through the necessary emergency procedures in order to secure their future. The grim reality is that the vast majority of babies and toddler would die of hunger within days, simply because readily available food has run out, and they lack the skills to obtain more. But slightly older children will be able to scavenge food in supermarkets, provide themselves with basic necessities, and survive at least for a few years, during which they can organise communities and acquire the knowledge needed to create a more sustainable form of survival. It would most likely be extremely basic - farming crops and maintaining shelter from available materials, but it will be enough. Then, after a number of years, they can slowly reacquire the lost knowledge by self-learning through libraries and trial-and-error methods, eventually slowly repopulating the earth and rebuilding civilisation. So the ultimate question I'm asking is - how young can the children be in order to be able to do all of the above?
