But... has a new topic been made? Anyway, I guess this one served its purpose. Closed.

I get what you mean, but at one point you just have to do a risk assessment and determine whether the risk of something happening is low enough that you can consider the system safe to use. Nothing is ever 100% safe, but that doesn't mean you should lock yourself in a bunker your whole life just to avoid freak accidents. Tesla autopilot already has fewer accidents compared to human drivers, despite having relatively limited functionality right now. I assume it will only get better from here.

But... this joke was already said in the V-log. Why recycle it as a forum topic? ?

For this reason there are systems in place to prevent that kind of malfunction. I'm not an expert on how it works, but I think there's multiple ways to go around this issue: Physical limitation of what the computer can do to the car. This isn't a perfect solution, as it prevents full autonomy, but it helps ensure that the car won't just suddenly swerve into oncoming traffic on the highway, because the computer is limited by how much it can break, accelerate, and turn, especially at higher speeds. System health checks. A separate set of sensors is in place to specifically monitor the primary system for errors and anomalies in real-time. If all else fails, an independent system would be in place to take control of the vehicle and safely bring it to a halt. Also, all systems are regularly serviced and checked by professionals. Redundant systems. If the car's main computer malfunctions, the issue is detected and there is a back-up computer ready to take over instantly. High standard of manufacturing. For autonomous vehicles, essential systems like the computers and actuators should be installed with physical protection from outside effects. There should be absolutely no possibility of something like a rat or excessive moisture getting into the vital compartments and causing damage. This is pretty easy to ensure, given enough of a budget. The only real risk of an autonomous car going "rogue" is due to hacking.

Not sure why you're so negative all of a sudden. You know I'm very open with everything whenever I can, so I'd have no reason to hide something like this. And I can tell you for a fact there there isn't any kind of idea that we are prohibited from publishing. The only topics we must remove, are those containing typical rule violations, as per Game Rules. Your idea will be published soon.

It's only been a day since you posted it. We didn't get around to it yet.

OP abandoned the topic a while ago. I think I'll archive this one and if you want, feel free to start a new one. It would be interesting to find out how common alteration drops are.

Why isn't TO Steam version not updated unlike TO browser version?
Maf replied to thekamikasemonkeys in Archive
Hi. In what way is the interface old? A good chance is that the Steam version is still using Tanki Online on Flash, which has the old interface. it's not exclusive to Steam - I still play with the old interface via standalone Flash player. The most likely outcome is that Steam will get a new launcher once HTML5 is fully released, but there's no urgency in doing it at the moment. -
Man, I completely forgot about the content count lol. Thanks for the reminder! I wonder what I should use dedicate that post to? A huge wall of text? An interesting discussion? A super dank meme? It's an important milestone, will take some time to plan it carefully.

But it sounds funny ? (also I hate the new name "augments")

? I guess that "moment" has gone. Title changed to "Ideas for Augmenterations"

But is it really any different from public transport? I think there are very few people afraid to take the bus because they don't want to be killed/injured due to the driver's mistakes/ Because they trust the driver's training and the regulations put in place to make sure the driver is fit for the job (not tired, under influence, etc.). So in this case it's just a question of how long it will take for you to start trusting the autonomous technology, which will definitely be a long and difficult process for most people. You correctly remarked that people aren't always rational in this sense.

Tanki X was doomed from the start. It was meant to be a complete replacement for TO (transfer of accounts and all), but that did not happen because browsers stopped supporting Unity when TX was already near completion. Developers decided not to throw away all the work and finish the project, releasing it as a standalone downloadable game. Unfortunately, it was extremely unlikely for it to be able to complete with other similar games, which is why its lifespan was so short.

Let's keep discussion of the newest updates in the official news topic please. I get how you feel, but as usual - generic criticism like this doesn't have any purpose or value. With an update like this it was obvious that players would hate it, and developers were 100% aware of the consequences and the kind of feedback they'd receive upon announcing it. Nonetheless, the fact that it's being implemented means that it's necessary for reasons other than keeping players satisfied. Closed.

Well, if the car is fully autonomous and driver intervention is not only unnecessary but completely impossible, then you won't be driving. Hence it's not DUI because the "Driving" part is missing. No reason for it to be illegal.

Semyon Kirov was a community manager. He had absolutely nothing to do with game design, not to mention that back then I'm pretty sure Strizhak was already in the game development team. Either way, AlternativaGames won't be taking player feedback into account when deciding how to structure their team. Closed.

Ok, so let's say they added promo codes. What's the difference between winning 5 gold box supplies, and winning a promo code that gives you 5 gold box supplies when used? All it does is add an extra unnecessary step for players trying to get the reward, while people with multiple accounts will get an enormous unfair advantage from being able to collect promo codes from all their accounts and use them all on a single account to upgrade it at a faster rate. This will not happen.

I think the tanki chatbox is not used enough for team effort in team DM
Maf replied to LeonardoDiCaprio in Archive
Chat isn't really that effective in Tanki, especially in TDM. Not much strategy here. Just spawn, find enemy, shoot enemy, kill/die, repeat. I'd love to see voice communication implemented, since that would actually be very useful in modes like CTF. Or at least a quick chat wheel with a pre-made selection of phrases that you can quickly send. This is one of the reasons why I was disappointed that the Juggernaut update was an april fools joke, since communication is one of the new additions they promised to add. -
I love the original of this tune. Great song Not gonna lie, I actually memorised the lyrics despite not knowing a word of Italian ?

Topic merged I agree with you in some aspects, but keep in mind that we do get balance changes every now and then, so it's possible that your turrets will be buffed in the future. I think Hammer's and Isida's main advantages is that few players use protection against them, so you should be able to use them quite effectively. Also consider buying some alterations for Hammer, since they often help quite a lot.

There's an excellent video tutorial with instructions on how to do it. It's a pretty cool feature!

No, but I have ways to check whether or not you and A.19 are accounts belonging to the same person. And you are not the same person.

Can confirm.

In this case it could definitely be a mobile player, because they are 1) more likely to not turn their turret, and 2) have horizontal auto-aim, which allows them to hit you even if their turret is pointing slightly to the side.
