Think about this. When paints are purely for visual effect, there is nothing stopping the devs from providing 100's of new paints that we can buy. Maybe country of origin flags or clan flags for example. We maybe even allowed to create our own where we can upload a texture, test it on various hulls & turrets, then submit it for approval, all at a cost of course. This is the way it's heading and it would be a big money spinner for Tanki imo.

Once the update hits, only mono, duo and trio modules will be available. Right now, we are still able to buy paints with 4 resistances.

There won't be a 'New' Rock type module or new quads for that matter but, as it stands, there is a big unnecessary complication here. I wrote in my suggestion... Under the current proposal we will have 2 groups of modules that will behave differently, the new and their predecessors (legacy). We will also have 2 micro-upgrade processes. This makes it even more confusing and distracting. If you were to come up against that fully mu'd legacy quad module, (made from Rock's original parameters), then what number do you see for it's protection? If the devs persist pushing this system then they will have to devise another indicator for the enemy tanks we engage which tells the player that it's a legacy module they're shooting at. My suggestion harmonises these 2 groups of modules and the 2 micro-upgrade processes and unifies them so we just have one process after the transition date.

Let's talk about honor in tanki online

I didn't see your post until today and I have reached the same conclusion with kick2, so I've asked for it to be closed. "I'd like to thank all you guys for your support and for taking part in this topic but it's that time to close it. The cheating in this game is so commonplace it's now ingrained into it's culture and we should accept this is the way it is. Tanki have had plenty of opportunity to fix this plague and failed repeatedly to address it. I've heard that there are plans to reintroduce a kick system to this game at some stage. We'll see won't we - then again pigs may fly."

The fact is we simply don't know. We don't have a price structure to compare the new with the old. For all we know, you could buy a trio identical to Clay and it would be half the price of the current paint! The good thing about Clay is that it doesn't matter when you buy it, before or after this update, it still goes to 50 for each of its resistances. About Africa, it's hard to give an informative answer with the limited information we have received. Maybe a staff member might have more information and would be willing to help you!

I currently have Tiger paint. I'm micro upgrading this at great cost to make it the best it can be. That's to say 50% against hammer, 50% against smoky and 28% against Railgun. This is as high as this paint goes. I'm upgrading it so to have the best protection available to me for when I face these 3 turrets. You say I won't lose anything? You're wrong. What I am losing is the best protection against these 3 turrets because, with this update, players can buy a Trio Module and equip it with Hammer, Smoky and Rail and proceed to upgrade it to 50, 50 & 50, making it far better than mine. Am I really going to have to go and spend another million crystals just so I can get 22% more on Railgun resistance, because as it stands, when these paints are converted to modules, we are not allowed to micro upgrade them beyond what is allowed right now. So how is that fair? Do you think it is right that I have to settle for 2nd best, especially after I spent so long and so much trying to acquire the best? "Understand?" And what about all those free to play players who have slowly but surely spent every available crystal micro upgrading their favourite paints? Try telling them to look on the bright side and see what responses you get? I don't understand your concern. The reason why there is not a lot of players complaining about this is due to the complicated and elaborate nature of the system itself. Players don't understand it and can't complain about it as a result.

Yes. You'll be able to buy the colours still but the not paints as we know them today.

Episode 93 of the V-LOG is here

No. Swash is Swash. It will change to a legacy module that is identical to it's current form in every way. It will have the same resistances, same percentages etc. You just can't micro upgrade it past its current limits although I'm hoping that will change. With regard to my guess, it was just a guess. Those details are still on the drawing board.

Not sure I understood you properly. Under this proposal, players will not be able to buy a 4 way module, only 1, 2 or 3 way. But the devs have to cater for the existing paints players own which can be 1, 2, 3 or 4 protections - so if you currently have any 4 way paints, they can be kept but with restrictions. The plan is to introduce new modules with modifications we're familiar with, ie, m0 - m3. How that would work is anybodies guess. One such guess is that m0 would be 10%, m1 = 20%, m2 = 30%, m3 = 40%. Each modification can be upgraded an extra 10%. Let me stress this is just a guess and I haven't given it any real thought.

Not according to the clarified explanation we were given. If you buy Graffiti before this update, it will be converted to a Trio Legacy module and a paint. You can then proceed to upgrade it to it's current limits, which just happens to be 50, 50, 50 anyway so this would be a good choice to buy as regular Trio Modules can be maxed to 50 each too. Once you have bought it, you cannot change any of it's 3 slots. They're fixed. If I've understood it correctly, you can then use Green paint with this module should you so wish. With regard to Rock, the same applies. Once converted to a Quad Legacy module, it can be micro upgraded to 50, 50, 39, 15 and no more.

Let me apologise to you if I sounded arrogant. It wasn't my intention. I felt you didn't take everything I wrote into consideration and cherry-picked a line I wrote, misrepresenting me in the process, just to wind me up. I never suggested they get all their crystals back. I said it was the ethical thing to do, I never said it was the thing to do. I then went on to provide an alternative, fair suggestion which you overlooked. I am one of those players that took days, weeks, months, years even, upgrading paints to their maximum. I spent millions of crystals doing it. Then we get this new plan to change all that and we're told we're not losing anything. Well please forgive me for losing my temper. Anyone who spends over $1000 in this game should deserve to have their voices heard and not to be mocked. I look forward to your reply.

I never used to be until I read your output. You kinda rubbed off on me. But you need to keep those comments to yourself. It's not very professional is it? Sure I've had a rant or two but it's not all rant - I go further and help others in thread, more than any of your staff members AND I think about this from many points of view then give ideas, suggestions and solutions. Who was it who said we can't just give negative feedback without explaining it? Can't remember, some admin I think. I'm just doing what was asked of me. And with regard to me defending myself - I can do that any way I like as long as I don't break forum rules. You can defend yourself too but don't dare gang up on me. No wonder you guys can't keep 100k going here. Customer just isn't in your vocabulary is it?

Not the plenit? There's no hope for the humain rice! Thanks for your feedback on our feedback. Not hearing any makes us feel alone and that's usually the way things have been for a while now. A dilemma I have is; should I buy a Premium Pass? I'd like to increase my rewards but my concern is, will it be for nothing in the end. By that I mean, if our current paints, when converted into legacy modules, are going to be rigid with no scope to go beyond their current mu limits, then I'm definitely not going to start again and buy a new module with the same resistances, simply to eke out a few more percent over the legacy. Other players want to know should they continue to buy paints or will they be a waste of crystals. This 'not knowing' will probably hurt tanki more than it will hurt us so you should give assurances sooner than later. I can see tanki's problems with the transition and the main issue is what to do with the current paints players have. The current transition plan will be a fail, that's a certainty and losing buyers' trust is not what you want to do. I'm more than happy to continue upgrading my maxed out paints to 150 percentage points in the case of 3 resistances. In the case of 4 resistances, again, I'm happy to continue micro upgrading those too but not if they can't go beyond their current limits. I don't mind paying for stuff but please, don't take us all for mugs. You'll lose us for sure and that includes Tanki X. However you plan to go forward, engage with us more than you're currently doing and keep us updated on what I consider the biggest change to hit TO since the last rebalance. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!

Still hoping for some kind of official response regarding what a lot of players are losing. Some of us have invested millions of crystals getting paints maxed out making those combinations of resistances the best they can be. Now we learn they can be bettered by new things but we're not allowed to upgrade our existing paints any further. There needs to be compromise here. Here is the solution. I look forward to some feedback.

Episode 93 of the V-LOG is here

This update in it's current form is the very definition of being stabbed in the back. Anybody who has paid real money to this game to buy paints is well and truly being shafted here. Hazel might say we are not losing anything but that is untrue. Our purchases and millions of crystals went into purchasing the best paints and micro upgrading so they could be the best they could be. Having the best equipment is what players are losing. eg, A player has saved for a year, invested $200 and purchased Tiger and Inferno paints, proceeding to fully mu them. Inferno Freeze 50% Firebird 50% Twins 23% Tiger Hammer 50% Smoky 50% Railgun 28% With this update, a player can buy 2 Trio Modules and populate them with the same configurations and mu them to 50% for all resistances whereas the poor old saps who were loyal to this game for years are stuck with rigid legacy modules that can't be upgraded any further. There is really no good reason why my solution to this should not be implemented. Is there any desire to respond from or @Cedric Debono Please tell me I'm not being stabbed in the back and my loyalty means something! Solution

That's what it sounds like to me but the resistances may be included in the price of the module. This hasn't been explained in any detail yet but my best guess is when you buy a trio module the price of it will cover the 3 you want. Developers can better answer this.

Episode 93 of the V-LOG is here

Yes, sort of but you can't mix and match any protections you have now. When it gets released, you will able to buy a module, (3-way, 2-way or 1-way), that you can then populate with resistances from turrets. You have to buy these resistances from scratch. You can then mu these resistances to their maximum values of 50%. So you could buy a Trio Module, fit it with Smoky, Rail and Isida and then proceed to mu them. You can combine these modules with the look of any paint colours you own or purchase - Black for example. If you wanted another module, say with Smoky, Rail and Thunder resistances, then you have to buy those from scratch too. You can't use the Smoky and Rail resistances you purchased before. What you can't do is populate new modules with your existing stuff. Your existing paints will split into a Colour Scheme that you own and a fixed module. That module will have the same resistances it does now, be it 1, 2, 3 or 4-way, and you can mu it still, but only to the limits allowed now under the system we have now. I've always considered Savanna to be a top paint but it's practically worthless under the new system. I never use Urban anymore, even under the current system. Taiga kind of makes it redundant. But see my post where I cite Savanna as an example.

So there are improvements that can be made to this with regard to the transition of Legacy protections. Here is my suggestion: Example 1 - Rhino If you currently have a paint such as Rhino fully maxed out, your protections are as follows; Vulcan 45%, Hammer 45% & Firebird 9%. This gives 99 protection points. Why then can't we change this from a Legacy Trio to a Normal Trio module? The equivalent transition starting point would be; Vulcan 33%, Hammer 33% & Firebird 33%. You would then have the ability to upgrade it further to 50%, 50% & 50% Example 2 - Picasso Another example might be Picasso but this has 4 protections. Shaft 45%, Railgun 38%, Thunder 30% & Freeze 30%. This gives a total of 143. Lets say our equivalent totals should not be more than 160 percentage points for an existing 4 way paint. Why 160 and not 150? Well why not! See bottom of this post for reasons. The equivalent transition starting point would be; Shaft 36%, Railgun 36%, Thunder 36% & Freeze 36%. You would then have the ability to upgrade it further to 40%, 40%, 40% & 40% Workings You would work out the transition by this formula CT = current total of percentage points MT = total of percentage points allowed for your new module, ie, 1 = 50, 2 = 100, 3 = 150, 4 = 160 N = the number of protections the new module has (CT / MT) * ( MT / N) My picasso paint is fully micro upgraded so substituting would look like this; (143 / 160) * (160 / 4) 0.89375 * 40 = 36% when rounded up Mono, Duo & Trio Module resistances can be upgraded to 50% for each turret. Legacy transitioned Quads can only be 40% for each. Why make these changes 1) When shooting an opponent you see the protection value the enemy tank has against the turret you are using. This supposed to be the value for each resistance for that module. Under the current plans, this would not be the case for legacy modules. It would be confusing and distracting. Having everything the same resistance values will keep things simple for all concerned. 2) Making Legacy Quads upgradable to 40% for each resistance is a small but necessary compensation for players who have previously invested in such paints. While some of the individual resistances may go down, Lumberjack's Firebird for example, other values will go up, Lumberjacks Vulcan. There would be still room to upgrade further. This way, previous investments can still be improved upon as a whole. I remember saying we are the players that got tanki to where it is today and TO won't spit in our eyes. Well the current plans are spit in the eye because I say it is. You need to address this and quell any concerns we have, fast! Clarified explanation of Modules by Responses, 1 & 2 - by @AbsoluteZero
  24. AbsoluteZero

Episode 93 of the V-LOG is here

I initially thought this until I read Hazel-Rah's clarified explanation. Any paints you have now that have 4 protections will become a Legacy Quad Module. These modules can be upgraded but only to their current limits. Some paints might be worth buying but only if their combined protection totals, (when fully upgraded), are in the region of 150. Also, we have heard nothing about prices so far. No. If you have Zeus already, it would start off at 50 for firebird, 25 for Smoky and 25 for Freeze, if Hazel's explanation is anything to go by. Because Zeus can currently be upgraded to 50,50,50 - You would be allowed to max it out like a normal Trio Module. See Hazel's clarified explanation for what happens to current protections. With regard to what you've purchased already they'll turn into Legacy type modules that for the most part are third-rate. Rhino's protection totals are 45%, 45% & 9% (99%) when currently maxed out so this type of paint is not exactly irrelevant but definitely close to useless. Given the choice, I would trade it for a new Trio Module where I could upgrade it to 50%, 50% & 50% - but this isn't going to happen. The question that needs asking now is - why can't it happen? I will post about this today and ask but I won't hold my breath for an answer. Also, you might be hitting someone with a Shaft and it shows 45% above the tank so you immediately think this guy has 45% protection from various turrets but that might not be the case. He could have a Legacy module of Lumberjack, Rhino or Picasso. So confusing and complicated. Who dreamt this up? Clarified explanation of Modules by Responses, 1 & 2 - by @AbsoluteZero My suggestion for improvement
  25. AbsoluteZero

Episode 93 of the V-LOG is here

No. If you buy a "trio" module, you can choose what resistance it has in the form of 3 turrets. (nothing to do with your existing protection or other modules). These can then be upgraded to the max from scratch.
