But we are ignoring one main factor... if you match by GS - why would anyone spend $$ to improve their equipment? If they can't get an advantage by having a higher GS-by-rank then why would they ever invest? Without buyers spending $ - the game will fold. Simple economics.
  2. Well that won't work unless there's a Lobby that shows the map - before the battle starts. Mammoth freeze on Alexandrovich CP? Huge problem. Mammoth Freeze on Sanbox CP? Not a huge problem. Players need to have the abilit to customize equipment for the map. Then there's the problem with players that have invested in all the modules. Not being able to switch them out during battle hurts those players a lot more than players who only bought 3 modules and never change them.

  4. It's not the "odd player" - it's many. LOL. Would be more helpful if you tailored your responses to your audience. Been there many times with many suggestions. In the last 3 years what changes have been made to MatchMaker that have improved MM? (FYI - shortening battles down to 7 minutes is not considered an improvement)
  5. You missed my point. I (and others) do not see the addition of Stars (Challenges) as something positive. They distract from the actual battles and players ONLY become focused on getting the most stars they can. Challenges should only be occasional - special events. Not every day every month.

  7. One of the biggest problem with todays TO. Stars. It's all about stars. Who cares abou the actual battle so long as players get their stars - right?
  8. There are still a handful of people who bring this up - mostly the ones who don't have enough. Unless you keep doing the OPTIONAL Challenges, every player should have enough supplies to compete. Drones are now the "rich-peoples" candy. They are very expensive to upgrade and maintain with batteries.
  9. How do people not understand there would not be TO in future if HTML5 was not adopted. THERE IS NO MORE SUPPORT FOR FLASH. TX would not be still alive. There was so much wrong with it I just stopped playing. Was not worth my time. And apparently not worth most peoples time - the game folded because of lack of players. You are both using willful ignorance with the balance and no extreme buyers. There were recruits in TX battles with Tier 3 modules. Without buyers in TX, there is no game. Again - how do you put players into battles based on GS? I have mk1 equipment in my garage. And why would anyone pay to upgrade items if they could not use better items? Games don't support themselves.

    Description for Electromagnetic accelerator "Scout" seems wrong. Says Reloading = -20% & Charge Time = -50%. But Charge time is a factor in Reloading (Charge Time + Shot delay). M4 ... 2.6 (Charge) + 1.1 (Delay) = 3.7 (Reload) What is total time then for EAS to get off a 2nd shot with m4?

    Let's talk about some "alarming" aspects of the game...

    Once you unlock m2 you cant mu m0 = 2 above. Once you unlock m3 you cant MU m1 = 2 above. But since there's no official m4... you can ALWAYS upgrade m2... there's no unlock rank "2 above" m2. That's why in old system I bought as many m2 modules as I could - I have them and can upgrade at any rank. 100k is much cheaper than 250k. Instead of MU-ing all my m2 items to m2.10. I did that for 1 combo and benefited like you did - but not to such a great extent. My General has ALL modules at 31% or better except for spider. Had I known what was gonna happen with conversion I would have MU-ed my other 2 items to m2.10. Hindsight is 20/20.

    Not correct. Once you attained the rank that unlocks "one above the next one" is the limit. The one above the next one wrt m2 would have been m4. And since there was no official "m4" there was no statute of limitations for upgrading m2. You actually were on a path that would encounter pain if you did not have lots m2 modules by Marshal - you would have had to buy each one at m3 for 250k crystals. The conversion has kind of saved your bacon.

    What are you talking about "re-buy"? Once you had an m2, you could upgrade anytime - no matter how high your rank. So instead of upgrading the last 1 or 2 very expensive MUs at 1st Lt. you could have upgraded modules or drones more and had a better return on investment for the rank. The fact you didn't understand the rules of the time indicates you were even luckier than first thought. Hindsight now is 20/20...

    That was sure a crap-load of luck. For example - why on earth are you putting in the last couple upgrades on m2 items instead of upgrading/buying more modules? There was no strategic reason to buy those last couple of very expensive upgrades for relatively modest boost when you were still a long way from being able to convert to m3. Admit it - you lucked out completely on one of TO's largest brain-cramps ever.
  16. I played it for a year. The game was worse than TO. Plenty of "stomps". You are talking about upper echelon - but low-mid ranks... terrible. 2 really dumb parts were... 1) your item progression was random - totally dependent on containers... so buyers would just keep buying to get the path they needed and 2) the Leagues made it impossible for casual players to advance - kept dropping you down at end of season. GS scores - well I have a bunch of items I bought in early ranks and never upgraded. heck now I can buy even more mk1 items. You can't average your garage GS to be placed in battles. The current rank system (if they tighten up the ridiculous rank-spreads) is the only fair way to do it.

    Every battle now waves of hornets - Rail or Magnum or Vulcan or Gauss. It's not uncommon for a team to have 3 or 4 of them. When are Devs gonna do something about this OP OverDrive. It's just ridiculous. Fixes below will make it at least somewhat balanced. - ability to ignore spawn protection = 0% - ability to ignore modules = 75% - ability to ignore Titan Dome = 75% - ability to ignore DA = 100%

    Needs to go by rank. Once you hit a certain rank it should no longer be available. Should not need to depend on the outline once you are WO or some similar rank. Red outline in upper ranks is for lazy players - those who want to just camp at long range with easy hits.
  19. TX battles were not nearly as balanced as you describe. Just as many blow-outs there as there are here. You can't go by gear-score because anyone in upper ranks can just equip low items and switch in battle. Worst thing about MM is the wide rank-brackets. Tighten those up and battles will be somewhat better. Will never be perfect because of the dumb Challenges.

    3. Battles are too short. Teams are capping flags before enemy team is loaded. Many battles end 5-0 in < 7 min. 4. Challenges ruin battles - players no longer play the battle-mode. They are selfish and just play TDM to get stars.

    Red outline should only be in battles for few few ranks where players don't know how to aim. After that, it's just a crutch and nullifies terrain like brush. Let's try to keep some skill in the game, shall we?

    Hull alterations are coming soon!

    There should not be any hull alterations that target specific turrets. Creates more unbalance and makes those turrets moot. Who would use freeze or hunter if enemies can avoid the special effects that make them useful? Plan on playing CTF in a quick hull? You would ALWAYS equip the EMP alt or the freeze alt allowing you to escape. On way those alts can be close to balanced is if you lose ~ 35% of your armor to get the benefit.

    With ALL enemies being red - regardless of starting spot on map - you need to refer to location. In this instance I would guess you mean upper-level players dropping mines onto the lower-level team...

    Never said that. I said the tweak Gauss needs is for the splash radius and splash damage for snipe to be lowered. Video or it never happened.
