    if you are controlling it - lets you hide away in a corner and attack. We already have Magnum. Even with short-ish range... it seems a lot like the camera-missile suggestion above. Too complex. It would just be annoying. Just use freeze or Hunter or both. Respectfully pass on this one.

    Well the first step would be having a lockon required. Which means you can't hide, since you can't move after firing... I just don't see this being adpted - too complex. And we already have striker - don't need another missile launcher.
  3. Not sure why you are "confused" over my post. Your own post just explained why you are running short and proves my point. Stop using Booster drone so much. YOU have control over your own supplies - you would have plenty if you cut the drone usage in half.

    Now add frequency of effect and range... kind of important ... no? I'd like to know how you plan on the target keeping the flag when "zapped". I have a feeling Devs will NOT be able to figure that out.

    with DA it has 4000 health. With module - it's 8000. It's also a fast hull, and most don't just head out into the open and challenge you do they? With a one-shot kill from cover, how are you going to kill it when you are re-spawning?

    There's players out there that have been crying about hunter stunning them for 2.2 seconds - using an OD, that has a short range. How do you think they will react to a turret that can do that from a distance much more frequently than Hunter can?

    You want to be able to hide, fire your missile, and guide it to a target somewhere else on the map? Why would anyone ever use a Magnum after that? Aside from this being ridiculously OP, the closest you're gonna get is the alteration for Striker that allows you to detonate the missile when desired. Your "tv-view" would, IMHO, be way too complex to adopt for this game.
  9. Are you trying to complete the Challenges? If so - then yes, you will use a lot of suplies. But Challenges are optional. If you mostly play to complete missions, you should get enough supplies from daily missions and weekly containers + the Tiers you complete on Challenge just in your daily playing.

    Gauss average damage (1745) is in line with Rail (+LCR) (1680) and Magnum (1745) none of which have lasers and none of which on average can one-shot a light hull. If Gauss splash damage and/or radius was tweaked downward would it still be considered OP? By-the-by... Rail or Magnum hornets are also "one-shotting everyone". It's the OD that is most responsible IMHO.
  11. So in your world - the only thing a Hunter OD should do is remove supplies for 5 seconds. FIVE. WHOLE. SECONDS. Meanwhile Hornet can one-shot medium hulls for 20 seconds, Wasp bomb kills everything not in a dome, Viking gets 7 seconds of mass kill... LMAO.
  12. I agree they could have tried a little harder to fix isida - why 25% vampirism was never given a chance was weird. Dropping down to 10% was silly. They don't sem to know how to do things in moderation. But that's 1 turret out of 13 so I feel the impact is not so drastic as say MM or 7-min battles or OverDrives.

    I see what you are getting at - and maybe in lower ranks with less experienced targets and slower moving tanks it might work out. But against competent enemies, and as the tanks move faster, I'd say the DPS for Vulcan will keep dropping with the slower bullet theory. And distance too will make things much harder. I'll stick to my original wish that Vulcan keep it's high-speed projectiles, even if that means they do a little bit less damage each.

    There were so many gold-digger whiners you knew it would probably happen. But down to 5 seconds? LMAO. As another player put in a different post - I agree that it was probably accidental due to the Gauss alteration - but then they ret-conned it like they meant to do it. Either way - bad optics. If they keep the ridiculously small cool-down they need to get rid of the activation delay to at least partially make up for that.

    Slower bullets would suck - and not be in line with trying to keep it more like an actual Vulcan rotary cannon. IF it had to be nerfed some slightly less damage per bullet would be better.

    And yet... Hunter as been nerfed to oblivion... Still doesn't change the fact you can't fight back against twins when it's impact up close lifts the front a of a medium hull off the ground.

    Well, they did change that mission so you don't need to mult - you can use garage supplies to satisfy the requirement. Sure it still happens - but a lot less frequently.

    Not exactly. I've never been fine with Shaft one-shotting medium hulls or compact tanks for firebird. Or twins impact or duplet. Don't get me started on magnum/Rail+hornet. But that's another story altogether and I've started a separate thread.

    How much of your time in-battle was spent trying to collect these crystal boxes? Some would consider that "multing" if you are concentrating on the boxes and not the actual battle going on around you. It's like what players were doing with supply boxes dropping - just collecting those for missions and not bothering with the battle and contributing to the team.

    Of all the layers to ignore 100% I'm surprised you picked this one. As for the "counter" part - the most effective turrets with hornet OD allow it to keep it's distance and use the OD - unlike say Mammoth or Wasp or Hunter. On any but the smallest of maps it will activate under cover, pop out and "ambush" a target - likely kill it - then hide again. It's exposure to any kind of return fire can be minimal. And then there's magnum, which does not even need to do that. How do you counter a magnum-hornet hiding in it's base surrounded by mines?

    When ODs were introduced, they had a huge impact on the game. So much so that 3 of them (mammoth, Titan, Hunter) have already had changes to reduce their effectiveness (aka nerfed). One common factor here is that the nerfing seems to have arisen due to their effectiveness under specific conditions like Gold Drops or Battle-Mode Siege. One OD so far ignored by the nerf-gods is Hornet. Though it has not been deemed ulta-effective under specialized conditions, it is indeed way to potent in general game-play. It has a number of bonuses when activated... radar to show where enemies are, long duration (20 seconds) and the ability to ignore all defenses. ALL DEFENSES. The last ability has proven to have no counters. No matter what you do, there is no way to mitigate the damage you will take - even from across the map. In effect a Hornet with DD and LCR alteration can one-shot a fully protected medium hull. And heavy hulls with only partial damage can be destroyed in like manner. A Hornet-Magnum + OD can also one-shot medium hulls if it just hits the average damage range. Most ODs have some kind of counter from the other ODs. Mammoth can be stunned. Titan dome does not protect against Hornet OD and can be nullified by Hunter. Wasp has to get close and can be disabled by Hunter. Hunter itself has a short range (can be killed as it approaches) AND has a delay to activation which again allows it to be killed. But Hornet - which lasts 20 seconds, can be activated under cover and then, with long-range turrets can kill enemies from afar with no ability from the targets to mitigate the damage dealt. All of the above is bad enough. And then there's spawn-killing. Spawn protection was introduced to prevent agressors from staying in enemy base and continuously killing them to the point of ruining battles - players would just leave. So targets as they re-spawn now have immunity - for a few seconds as they re-spawn - from every turret in the game, including mines. But for some inexplicable reason, the Devs did not take into account Hornet OD when they introduced spaw protection. So now a Magnum with Hornet Od active can kill targets in their own base even before they finish spawning and can do any action. I've been killed by a hornet-magnum during consecutive spawns in a battle. Die - try to spawn - die again before spawned. TLDR: - Hornet ODs have ZERO counters from other ODs and allows tanker to one-shot fully protected medium hulls - Hornet OD lasts long enough to do this multiple times - Hornet OD allows tanker to bypass spaw protection and kills enemies before they finish spawning. What say you - does Hornet OD need to be nerfed?

    Well hey don't just come out in the open and sit there for you to kill them do they? Most activate OD under cover, then pop-out and one-shot you as you navigate the map. And the radar aids in this - allowing them to ambush from afar. They aren't like hunter that needs to get close. So in this case - there is no counter that can mitigate the damage dealt. Plus DA & protection module (from your turret) allows them to survive longer than you suggest. And what a surprise - you basically just use Hornet & Rail. I'm sure yours is aun unbiased contribution...

    Well... this is certainly part of the problem. Hornet OD. It is ridiculously OP, and not just with Gauss. Also with Magnum and Rail. Learned the other day Hornet OD bypasses DA for mines as well - so magnum-mortars can have great success. I've been spawn-killed by hornet-magnums before I finished spawning. Let that sink in. The crazy OD allows them to spawn-kill at will. It makes no sense. So we also need to ask another question - when does Hornet OD finally get a nerf like Titan, Mammoth and Hunter did?
