  1. Or neither...? Aren't those assumptions a bit too extreme (and convenient too, considering your general views on matters like these)? Never mind though, I'm just having fun here.
  2. Based on previous special missions, I think that we have time until June 6th to "activate" the mission. Once you view the mission, you get 10 days to claim the rewards.
  3. I read that comment. Your reasoning was good, in my opinion, but you mentioned exact numbers while talking about the compensation... What you think is best may not be the best from the Developers' point of view, and ultimately it's in their hands. This is the only reason why I didn't fully agree with your post. All special missions have Ultra Containers and Stars, and you don't necessarily have to complete the missions just for those 130 tankoins. You can complete the missions for the ultra containers and stars! Consider those 130 tankoins as a small bonus, that's all! Regarding Tanki Fund: based on my little knowledge of economy, it is not wise to create money out of nowhere and then distribute it to people just like that. If an economics expert could explain this, it would be great! EDIT: I got few errors while posting this comment (due to network issues), so some of my points vanished into thin air when I refreshed the page ? Anyway, I still don't see how any of this makes the developers "greedy". I wouldn't be surprised if they increased the prices of the Tanki Fund bundles while giving 1300 tankoins... I won't get into discussions of love & loyalty, because I have some (rather unpopular) different opinions about all this. But I have noticed that expectations cause lots of problems in any relationship ? Also, following the "client is king" policy beyond a limit is bad for both sides. I think both sides are equally important: without players, there is no game; without developers, there is no game.
  4. Thanks for the compliment! LOL :Heart_On_Fire: (ugh zis forum no have that epic emoji, admin pls add) ? It was really an awkward moment... You were "acing the depression genre", so I was happy for the writer in you, but then it was the depression genre... ? ? Don't you dare ?? (this set of emojis looks rather sus, but nvm ph34r) This should have been a shock, but since you're such an amazing writer, I actually ended up chuckling while reading this topic. Dayum bro, sad to see you — one of the BEST writers that the AWS ever saw — leave... I had the privilege of approving the tip of the iceberg of content that you posted in this sacred space, so yeah — the void you leave behind might as well be a black hole. Anyway, I'll stop fooling around with words now lol. All the best in life, man. Do well, have fun, keep writing, and know that your readers are here for you whenever you need us! Much love, stay safe and sound
  5. I don't see any greed in this particular scenario, sorry. All I see is a huge list of players' wants, which is quite fanciful to be very honest. Notice that almost every player here has their own expectations that are different from those of others. "I want 1300 tankoins", "I want stars", "I want 1300 supplies" — ouch. No game will be able to meet such expectations, irrespective of how badly they messed up. From their side, should they give some extravagant rewards as a token of apology? Sure, but that depends heavily on their analysis of the situation, and calculations concerning game balance. I think it's safe to expect that many players will quote this reply and say that "game balance has already been thrown to the wind, what difference will it make if they give us tons of tankoins and other goodies" — that is an endless discussion, because players will (almost) always claim that the developers are greedy and don't care about balance, whereas the developers know their own mistakes & limitations which cannot always be conveyed to players. ? This is just being practical and rational as opposed to being idealistic. If Tanki was an ideal game, we probably wouldn't even need the "Complaint Book" section...
  6. That, unfortunately, is always the case. With every passing hour, players will expect more and more rewards as long as the problem persists. I personally think that having such expectations is a problem, because the game's management has its limitations. There's no limit to a player's imagination, though ?

    Goodbye

Sorry for the unconventional reactions in this topic, Drones... I didn't mean to be rude by reacting with "Saw It" on your main post, or by reacting with "Haha" to NikmanGT's first reply. It's just that a certain player *cough* @Spektrix *cough* made a joke on Discord: "Drones are leaving Tanki, POG!!" (And a pic of your post's first line was attached; see below) I think you can see why I found this topic so funny... Have fun in life mate!

    Tanki Fund

Reducing rewards gives players hardly any incentive, which means players won't rely too much on containers for stuff, or get that rush of excitement (to a certain extent) before opening containers — thereby "diluting" the gambling aspect of the game. Right, I wasn't clear enough. I should have added "non-buyers" below: (I'm on phone, so ignore the faulty quote box and look at the content only :x ) Agreed, but like it or not, the developers have the final say when it comes to such changes. And more often than not, they'll (naturally) avoid increasing stuff like rank-up rewards. I won't ? Yeah, that one was a bit iffy... The entire Ideas & Suggestions section exists for this very reason! ? I loved the entirety of your post, but if I may say so, you're expecting too much, too early from Tanki. Give them time, and plenty of it. I know that those having power to make changes read and analyse our feedback, but it is not really visible immediately. However, I don't think I can convince you, so I'll leave it at that...

Then what, according to you, should be done to keep the game free-to-play while ensuring that non-buyers get some extra basic necessities (supplies and crystals) without having to pay? This is a genuine question by the way, not a jibe. I really want to know what you think. Having containers — or luck — is the best way to give rare/powerful items without making them easily available. At the same time, free-to-play players get a chance to obtain these items, which is quite fair — these items aren't totally inaccessible. This is what maintains the freemium model. Before you start targetting Tanki specifically, do consider various other games, meant for children aged under 18, that also have elements of gambling (lootboxes). I am not denying the negative effects of loot-boxes, but I think Tanki has already reduced the significance of containers in recent updates (making containers very easy to obtain, reducing rewards, modifying rarities, etc.). I won't say that this has made the game more skill-oriented, but the gambling element has certainly been diluted. How many other games do you play? Do you post similar comments in their communication platforms as well? I'd love to join their forums and see how people communicate there. : )

    Is Technology Bad For Animals?

I feel that some amount of intervention by a more advanced species is necessary to maintain the natural balance... That's how nature works — this is best illustrated by any general food chain. The population of each species is kept in check by another species — remove one species, and everything becomes chaos. In our case, there's no one to keep our own actions in check except ourselves, which is why we have problems... So controlling the growth of another (lower) species is fine, according to me, but even that is futile if humans can't control themselves. We also need to keep ethics in mind while deciding the fate of some other species, and that complicates matters. Yep! This is why "sustainable development" is the need of the hour! It is human to explore, to invent, to strive for more — but at what cost? ?
