do you wanna build a snowman?
Venerable replied to Venerable in do you wanna build a snowman? Off-Topic Discussion
this is a snowman appreciation topic considering how hot the summer has been this year. australians will experience the heat soon™. before you archive this topic, mods, please answer: do you wanna build a snowman? -
Tanki deserves to be taken off the developers' (Opex-Rah) hands. They drove it to the ground.

trust me bro -
Whoa. They changed the descriptions of common paints. They most probably even changed the exact shade of a few paints, especially Orange. Mono Orange and old Orange looked exactly the same before, and now we have "Mustard" replacing the old Orange, while Mono Orange has become just Orange. It is indeed a joke that went too far.

What Is Your Opinion About the Current State of Tanki Online?
Venerable replied to Maf in Game Discussion
@Jeers4U @Xsader Heyo, just wanted to clarify that posts never get deleted or hidden unless: 1. the account owner requests their removal (especially when the owner wants to delete their forum account completely); 2. they break the forum rules. Even then, I'm 98.86% sure that no post gets truly deleted. Posts almost always get edited or hidden by the forum moderation team. For legal reasons I'd like to declare that I am not completely sure cuz I was never a forum mod. ? So yes, complaints have been coming in since the very beginning, but from what I could dig up, the Complaint Book thread started in 2015: Go through the "More Info" link here: A lot of stuff that you (might) think got deleted is most probably lost somewhere in the Archive... unless it broke some rule, or if the account owner asked the admins to delete their forum account. -
what's all this about liking the new game mode and it being a "lagger filter"? i really feel like trying it out now... what even is it? too lazy to go through the announcements lol

It took me a while to digest it but... there are players who actually like overdrives. They like using Hopper (hovering hull, often called "Flying Monkey" by many old players). They like the remastered maps. There is a generation of players who want new updates every week or else they'll get bored and annoyed. They want variety. They want novelty. I hate a lot of things about the game. But the game is far from dead even though the playerbase has dwindled. Those who wish that the developers would "listen to the community" usually don't see what most of the community is actually like - I would go so far as to say that there's a significant amount of immaturity and negativity in the community, and there's also a lack of clarity in the way the feedback is conveyed. When it matters, feedback and constructive criticism has always been heard, but it's not reasonable to expect the development team to act on all this immediately. Sometimes the changes are very gradual, almost impossible to notice. Sometimes it's just not possible for them to explain why an idea is not feasible. I've stopped playing. The playing experience is more frustrating than fun to me even though I have a pretty good garage. But maybe that's because I'm not ready or willing to learn the nuances of the game that are introduced or modified after every update. I can't be bothered to keep track of all the changes and tweaks, whereas an avid player would diligently strategize and adapt. Just my thoughts! ? -
Congratulations, @BlueWolf! I was mindlessly going through the forum's homepage and saw a Russian-looking red name in the Online Members' list. So I just hovered over that nickname and here's what I saw: Naturally, I viewed your profile immediately after that and... your profile no longer had "candidate" after Tester! That's a pretty cool avatar ngl...

Tankers when they see a goodbye post by @Venerable https://i.postimg.cc/d0zj6brv/IMG-20240202-024326.jpg i am re-retire goodbye (real) all. I'm not heading out cuz I want to or because something sus happened. Nope. If you think that, I am officially offended. Life happens. It happens to happen at the most un-happening times, and it can get pretty frustrating. I need to leave the Helper project, and the game, for good. Quite literally. I will sorely miss the community, and I hope I'll return to write a piece or two in the Writers' Corner, but nothing beyond that. If you spot me in a random battle, please don't tell anyone. Just say "shoo" in the chat and I'll shower you with blessings. Enjoy my third/fourth/fifth/etc. leaving post cuz this time it's the final one. That meme above is exactly what it is... a meme. I've used a jocular tone throughout my time here, but this is really happening. I am leaving and don't intend to return as a Helper again. I might occasionally play a battle or two, but that's cuz addiction. I will sorely miss you all.

My second Megagold! I'm that burnt Striker-Wasp lol.

To be very honest, I'm not really sure. Maybe it's because it almost completely removes the sniping aspect of Shaft. There's no reason to charge up your shot if you can destroy an enemy tank with three rapid flashes. And it's very difficult to counter in 1v1 situations. Frankly, if you enjoy the RFM gameplay, then by all means, go right ahead. I'm not judging you lol. The only thing that matters is that you have fun. Yeah, it's obsolete because the damage it deals is quite poor. The effort-to-result ratio (how much effort you put in to get the desired result, i.e. kills) is not favorable at all, in my opinion. Players prefer RFM or any of the status-effect augments (which can be obtained via containers or special events, not in the Garage). I prefer SBE.
-
RFM is frowned upon by "mobile snipers" ( ), but if you're just looking for easy kills, and perhaps faster mission-progress, then it's a good augment. It's not great from a fun point-of-view, though. Light Capacitors has become almost obsolete now. I'm pretty sure no one uses it anymore. A much better alternative is Short Band Emitter, at the moment. It's not as fast as LC, but the higher arcade damage compensates for this. Regarding Healing Emitters, I agree with what Dedicated said above. The downsides of this augment (no critical damage and impact force) are negligible if you know what you're doing.
