Tanki is an online game, not Tikka. How did you fare tomorrow?

All right forget the rest... They got a better prize, because that is how the Developers have intended it. Premium is designed in such a way that it gives you double rewards no matter where you stand in the final score. This is how premium services in any application/game work! You pay, and you have certain advantages that the non-buyers don't have. And by the way, non-buyers can also get Premium from contests or containers. Would you still complain that they (non-buyers who got Premium) got more rewards than you despite you being better than them in the final score? Another thing: I never said that I'm "satisfied" with the game balance. I've simply accepted the fact that Tanki isn't perfect, and can never be. Irrespective of that I enjoy the game the way I want. If I let the Developers influence my emotions, I'd become crazy. Look, the game is imbalanced, and we can always complain or make suggestions. But we must accept certain facts which are extremely unlikely to change!

@Spy On HTML5, when you create a Parkour format battle, the checkbox for toggling Gold Boxes automatically disappears from the Custom Options. I've noticed it many times. I'm sorry that I did not report it earlier. This means that Gold Boxes are automatically disabled, and we have no way of enabling them, except making the battle non-parkour. I don't know whether it happens for other format battles as well.

Loot Box Of course the player-base has declined. That might as well be because players have temporarily shifted over to other equally exciting games, if not more. Or it might be because older players have left due to busy lives, and there aren't enough new players replacing them. There are quite a lot of other popular and fun games that catch the younger players' fancy. To be honest, most of it is pure speculation, and I could be terribly wrong. But my instinct and mind tells me that players haven't left Tanki because they're getting destroyed excessively by buyers. There are some players who don't play for fun, but for stuff like K/D ratio, or purely winning, or something similar. They even leave battles if they think that they'll lose or if they're getting killed too much. I think those players can easily get bored by this game, and will definitely leave the game if they get wrecked by buyers excessively. That's actually true for addicted players. And most of the player-base is addicted to the game. I'm not "defending" the game. I never said or felt that the game is perfect. The game has quite a lot of problems. Yet we're still here, discussing the problems, playing battles, hoping that the game will become more balanced. You yourself don't seem to like how the game is functioning right now. How do you explain the fact that you are still playing? Now my K/D is something I absolutely don't care about. And I don't see how K/D even comes into this discussion. Yep, this is my alternate account, made majorly for the Forum. My main account is SHREYA88. It has a K/D of 0.58 I think. Not so nice, eh? But well, it was worse before... I've always played the game for fun. And when you have fun in Tanki, more often than not you end up dying more than you kill. Oh, I agree that you are more skilled. Getting a good K/D is definitely a skill. But I don't really see how it affects my intellectual abilities... you may even have a really good account, well-managed for an F2P player. Again, I'm not "defending" the game at all. It appears so because I'm saying that "players won't leave Tanki". That doesn't mean that Tanki is perfect, or that it's doing a great job right now. And Tanki will never be totally balanced. That's impossible. There will always be a disparity between buyers and non-buyers. Please read my post very carefully once again. I'm sure you'll get my point. Otherwise, feel free to PM me.

:c New emojis for the same reactions now ?

Just hop around... I don't think you'll bother about supplies... Cos Hopper OP Wow, 16v16? I'm sure there'll be heavenly lags... I guess I'll keep MM limited to mobile... (Potatoes aren't designed to handle such loads, ya'know) But it'll be fun to play on large maps, oh yeah...

Nice, you won, got a better score, etc. But he payed to get a better reward. Shouldn't be a problem. He also payed to get better gear. You pay, you get advantages. That's how it is mate. Know what, I've thought a lot about this. Non-buyers will never completely leave the game. There's a thing called addiction. There's a thing called loot box. You get one cool reward, you continue to play, hoping to get a better reward. Tanki is still enjoyable and will continue to be. It's in the nature of this genre of games. Just that there are times when you really feel as if you're being toyed around by players that spend money in the game. Even then, how many players have you seen who've left because of buyer-dominance? I'm sure the answer is zero. Players only leave when they've gotten over the childish addiction, or when real life gets demanding.

Some parkour in the old Flash tutorial... I found the pic on my PC... Amar had suddenly posted the link to the tutorial on Discord once, and it had created quite a stir... so all of us were playing and chilling in the tutorial, flipping around, or parkouring. Hornet was the fastest hull, but unfortunately it was always paired with Firebird. Combine this with my noob parkour skills, and my chances of successful parkour were bleak... Yet I managed to get on top of this house somehow, defying the force-fields that prevented exploration. (If you guys remember, you couldn't really stray off the path marked by the green arrows, as some invisible barriers stopped you. But there were some places and certain stages in the tutorial where the barrier was absent.) I'll miss Flash...
-
I think that's what happened. And the pic is definitely on HTML5 version, browser. Edited text has been striked out. I have a feeling that a bit of horizontal aim-assistance is also involved. The tank is pretty far away "horizontally". We miss shots by close margins horizontally on level ground too... How about making it a bit more professional? I mean, could you edit my first post to make it a befitting "Main Post"? Or do you have suggestions which I can implement to convert the post into a true "Topic Starter" post?
-
I don't see how it affects you as you use Mechanic...

Wow, these are some epic updates!!! Finally they've begun adding features that are in Flash... FPS boost, here I come! (If I even play that much, lol...)

Original Post (was first created in Tanki Picture of the Day, and subsequently removed from there to convert it into a separate topic, this.) I was playing XP/BP in Garder after the Mad Tanks experiment got over, and while we were waiting for players to join, I noticed this (see the pic above). Now according to Maf (and I concur with him), the vertical axis of my tank tilted according to the slope I was on. So, the outlined tank was pretty much in the "vertical" plane of my my turret. We all know that all turrets have vertical auto-aiming or aim-assist present to a certain extent. It helps to shoot at tanks which are otherwise not directly in the line of fire. One can shoot at tanks below while standing on top of bridges or buildings. Consider Railgun. It is a very precise turret. But sometimes the Railgun shot travels slightly bent towards the ground (or away from the ground), provided the enemy tank is in the vertical plane of the turret. Such an aiming system is absent while aiming horizontally. On the mobile version, the aiming is very flexible, and horizontal aim-assist is also present. This means mobile-users can sometimes shoot at some impossible angles even with Railgun. The shot can bend at various surprising angles. Now the picture above is slightly confusing, because the camera doesn't completely tilt in the plane of the screen of our device, so we cannot really see from the turret's point of view. But the highlighted tank is in the vertical plane of my Railgun, and vertical autoaim or "aiming transmission" is active here. This provides for some exciting gameplay from some out-of-the-box positions... Let's discuss Auto Aim!

It's a tendency among low-ranked players to seek high-ranked friends. I had it myself. I used to spend a lot of time viewing the ratings page of Legends (or Generalissimos, before Legend happened). It used to fill me with awe. I'd send friend requests to those high-ranked players whenever I'd see them in chat... Now I don't, of course, because I have truly understood the utility of the Friends feature...

Yes, they have to be! Whatever may be the case, I don't think that Hopper is a flying cheat. But Vulcan + Incendiary Band with Any hull + Heat Immunity is a legal cheat for sure. Indeed one might. But then, I don't really see any other way of replying to you without being blatantly disrespectful. If I post anything with a mellow or overly polite tone, you'd pounce on me at once... xD If I start accepting everything you say without comment/protest, I'm really going nowhere. I will defend my opinion if I am convinced that it's right. I'm afraid I can't do anything otherwise. I might seem very rude then, because there are times when I vehemently disagree... I never treated you as a kid, sir, and that further implies that I be as respectful as possible while replying. Alright. You do state facts, almost all the time. But then it seems as if you conveniently cherry-pick the ones you want. You ignore other facts, or downplay the ones that you think are unimportant. Well, I will defend my opinions as long as they're right and appropriate for the given time/place. Even if it means fighting fire with fire. I agree. That doesn't mean I ignore other facts as I deem convenient. Oh no, no. I wouldn't dream of putting you on ignore. You do state facts, and your views are quite logical most of the time (according to me). I'll bear with you. And hopefully stop my annoying sermons too, if you'd call them that.

You simply described the qualities of Hopper. I could do the same for the Vulcan-Incendiary Band + Titan (or any hull) with Heat Immunity. Not to mention a highly upgraded Crisis. ("I can't move around the whole map simply shooting non-stop and picking off enemy tanks, without fear of self-destructing or having reloading delays...") Incendiary Band is supposed to burn enemies when the user is experiencing self-burn. But with Heat Immunity, the hull never burns! Yet the Vulcan augment works and burns enemy tanks. Isn't that a "cheat"? But it happens! The Devs are aware of it! So it's ok. I must say that Vulcan + Incendiary Band with Titan + Heat Immunity has also been made deliberately OP. Though it breaks the game. You assume that you are always right and that the issues you address are always relevant. Um, you may be right or wrong, that's immaterial, but I wouldn't have so much confidence - I'd be open to all opinions, if I were you. You think that Hopper is OP and needs a nerf or needs to be removed - absolutely, you have complete right! I think that Vulcan + Incendiary Band with Titan + Heat Immunity is a more pressing problem - I'm perfectly within my rights to think so! ^^^ Not very nice phrases, I think. They don't really help getting your point across. They do help in triggering/provoking others and humiliating/hurting them. Don't worry, I never feel bad if someone publicly corrects me (even if it's condescending). I am merely concerned that such phrases are a big turn-off, and people will end up taking out inaccurate meanings from your posts, leading to misunderstandings or unnecessary enmity. I have fully understood your point. Hopper is OP, and you'd rather it got scrapped from the game. Fair enough. And that the devs are scheming, crafty people that only wish to siphon out all the money they can. Not my opinion, yours. You can have your opinions. I request you to be more considerate and understanding while replying to any view. Try and think from the other's point of view.

To be honest it's Archipelago MM all over again - and believe me, it's the most detested map because of it's randomness and balance issues. I am against the idea of players getting different random equipment when the join the battle. It could mean that 5 players of one team got Isida-Mammoth and 2 got Shaft-Wasp (say), while the enemy team got a suitable mixture of all combos. Totally possible. Or it could mean that every player got a combo suited for large maps while they are playing in small maps. Imagine being Striker-Viking with a bunch of Smoky-Wasps dodging your rockets and knocking off your aim, while Freeze-Hornets slow you down with ease, and you have no way to fight back. Granted that you want players to leave the battle and join again till they get a desired combo. But that has problems again! It's like how containers work - there's a very high chance that you get common items (analogous to desired combo) for ages at a time. I'd like to tweak your idea a bit: When a battle is made in the Random mode, a certain combo(s) is (are) decided at that moment. Then whoever spawns in that battle gets that decided combo. Now that combo is decided at random. So essentially, everyone in the battle gets the same combo, though it may or may not be different from what you have equipped. Or, 2-3 combos can be decided by the system, and every tank alternates between those combos in a fixed pattern after every death. For example, Firebird-Mammoth and Magnum-Viking are the chosen combos. In team Red we have A, B, C tanks, and in team Blue we have X, Y, Z tanks. Now, let the order of the combos be Fire-Mammy then Mag-Vik. So when all tanks first spawn, they will all have Fire-Mammy. Let's say A, X and Z get killed. When they spawn next, they will have Mag-Vik as their combo. B, C and Y will still have Fire-Mammy. Then tanks will keep switching between these combos in the decided pattern. Another tweak could be that the battle will be divided in terms of certain time-periods or objective-periods. Whichever tank spawns in a given time/objective period gets a certain combo chosen at random for that time/objective period. Say during 32:59 to 32:00, all tanks will spawn as Gauss-Titans. Then during 31:59 to 31:00 all tanks will spawn as Vulcan-Hoppers. This is the example of "time-period". For "objective-period" consider: During 2 flags captured to 3 flags captured (in total, considering flags capped by both teams), all tanks will spawn as Railgun-Ares. Then from 3 flags to 4 flags, all tanks will spawn as Smoky-Mammoths. Or, during 30 DM score to 35 DM score, all tanks will spawn as Smoky-Mammoths, etc. Now the beauty of this is that whoever survives a time-period or objective-period, gets to retain their combo until they die. Once they die, they'll spawn according to the combo for the current time/objective period. EDIT: There is a serious drawback... in case one doesn't own all turrets and hulls, it'll be nearly impossible to play a battle in this mode. I guess that's why you suggested totally random equipment from whatever one owns, Goges...

*cough* Incendiary-Band Titan Heat-Immunity *cough* C'mon man, that combo defies logic and science! Even in a game like Tanki!

Yay! I noticed that "Agree" is a positive reaction... Feels good to have more choices while reacting... It's a good thing that the <Confused> reaction was removed, because it was not really used in a polite way in my opinion. As mjmj5558 also mentioned, many users used it as an alternative "Dislike". And the emote was a bit too much... xD @Maf it seems that you influenced the addition of Legacy emotes... ;) And finally, @Sacrifice would be happy, that the typed "emotes" don't get converted into visual emotes... (Valid Completed!) :D :) ;) B)

Excuse me....? Are you also referring to official Helpers? Let me say this irrespective of whether you know it, that Helpers are in no way responsible for this experiment. Only Developers are.

Don't be confused, cuz, well, that's not an option anymore... (yay!) EDIT:

A friend of mine, about 2-3 years younger to me, once told me rather excitedly about a game called "Tanki" online. I was sure he had mispronounced. I asked him again, gently. He repeated "Tanki" online, and I laughed. It sounded so stupid. But I went home that day and created an account. That's it - here I am now...

Poly had been ":dddd"ing and ":DDD"ing because he was about to leave the battle. Look what happened:

Bruh, I get self-damage if the turret auto-shoots through a prop just because some tank is in the line of fire! I haven't tried the Gauss snipe-shot through a wall yet, but I would expect to self-destruct! What you are saying is outrageous (and epic at the same time xD)... surviving a salvo of Gauss shot through a wall, given the self-damage of the epic shot, is god-like...
